"Rexulti was added as a booster to my trintillix. Once it was added, I gained 42lbs in 4 months without changing my lifestyle. It was the worst time in my life. Obviously, meds are a decision that a doctor should help you make, but I would avoid this drug. Once I got off of both of those drugs, I got a new psychiatrist and started taking Wellbutrin. The 42lbs came right off and my depression was sooo much better."

"Bad. Feel restless and have anxiety attacks, also gaining weight. Have no energy and have to drink 3-4 cups of coffee every day just to stay awake and not crash my car driving to work. For me, not a good med. Tried Abilify, Seroquel, and Depakote in the past for anger and irritability and those are as bad if not worse than the Rexulti. Been on 20mg Lexapro for anxiety, depression, and Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for about 10 years, but it's not working very well any more. Doctor suggested Latuda, going to try that next."

"I only took Rexulti 2 times. My psychiatrist gave me a trial pack to try in addition to my other psych meds due to a particularly stressful time in my life that had my usual depression and anxiety far worse than "usual". The first time I took it was in the morning and I was so tired all of that day that I couldn't even stay awake. I also felt no different at all and have heard that there is often a difference in how you feel within hours of first dose. Second time I took it at night thinking that maybe I wouldn't be affected by sleepiness then. I was still so tired the next day that I couldn't stay awake. This is not normal for me. So I didn't take any more. I can only figure this was due to the med because there were no other changes that should have caused it."

"Hiya I went on this medication, I found in my particular experience was I put on lots off weight in a small amount of time. Which only added to my distress. I'm not saying this will happen to everyone, I'm just writing this review from my perspective."

"Rexulti is the 6th AD that I had taken over 13 years. It's also the first one to work. Hands down 10/10. The first 5 ADs provided minimal help and maximum side effects (fatigue, weight gain, insomnia, long-term IBS etc ). In general, they moved serious depression and anxiety to moderate, but at an unsustainable cost. Rexulti is entirely different. Within 1 day, I noticed a big difference, in 3 days, I was me. For the first time in 13 years. My depression is in remission, my anxiety is around 20% of what it was. Huge win, and more to come. I think I need time for pathways & habits to rewire. Side effects: weight gain but not a lot. Perhaps some sleep issues. Bonus: this is the time of year that I struggle the most. I had really bad Seasonal Affective Disorder, even as a kid. It's gone now, although the weight, sleep side effects may be SAD, not the drug."

"I want to preface this by saying that everybody's body chemistry is different and that one person's reaction to a medication will not necessarily be your reaction to the same med. With that being said, my experience with Rexulti was a horrible one. I have been on over 10 different antidepressants and anxiolytics and this medication has caused the worst side effects I've ever experienced, namely, shortness of breath. During the second week it got to the point where I couldn't get a full breath of air in, which led to severe anxiety and panic attacks. I went to an urgent care, where they said that my heart rate was so high that I needed to go to the ER. At the ER I was given IV fluid and tested via an EKG, a chest x-ray, and a blood test. After everything came back fine, an ER doctor told me that it was likely an idiosyncratic reaction to the Rexulti in combination with heightened anxiety, and that the best course of action was to wait it out until the drug leaves my system. Good times."

"I went from a size 10 to a size 14 in three years of taking the medication. All symptoms of my major depression are gone but obesity is setting in and I may have to try something else for awhile. I work out 3 times a week and watch what I eat."

"It’s been a month on rexulti . I’ve been on so many things until I was diagnosed with BPD, I’m using these as a mood stabilizer and I have never felt better. I’m concerned with the reviews of weight gain, because I’m already a curvy lady, but if my brain is healthy my body will follow suit. Highly recommend"

"Within a few days, I started having thoughts of self-harm (wrists) - completely unheard of for me + being interested in committing crimes/anti-social behaviour (once again, completely unheard of for me) & it upped my intrusive thoughts about faeces. I had to stop after 5 days. That was 2 days too long. I wanted to wait it out. I have a tendency/history of trying to be fair and waiting things out. This med or class of med isn't for me. I'm trying to get off Latuda by switching to something similar, as Latuda gives me panic/anxiety. For reference, I'm long-term on Pristiq 150mg/day for depression and intrusive thoughts + about 1/3 a year on 750mg Divalproex to be more positive about things & not so 'downer'. I'm a mid 30's middle class perfect-life on paper woman who can't work very much due to extreme fatigue & now recently medication mischief while my psychiatrist tries to find an antipsychotic med for my Bipolar type 2."

"I have been taking 40 mg Prozac but some how it’s was not doing as good as it used to be for me, plus some fatigue more stress, low motivation and low mood. I always start medication with lowest dose so after checking with my Dr who advised to add Rexulti .25 mg, initially I had headache which continued for 3 days but slowly medication got adjusted and I am now feeling much better, more energy, more motivation and even libido is improving, so folks , don’t lose hope and best of luck in your journey against this depression"

"I have dealt with MDD,GAD and PTSD meds for over 30 years and have had periods of relief with different cocktails some lasting 5-6 years but as many of you know I built a tolerance to them all. A year and half ago my anxiety started waking me up and quickly became complete insomnia and we tried many combinations for now 4 disorders and was able to sleep but woke feeling depressed. I take nefazadone, amitripyline and clonodine and my psychiatrist gave me a Rexulti sample pack but from the first .5 tablet I had a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep until I have none. I rated Resulti a 6 because in my experience with this product adjunct to the tricyclics my depression disappeared completely by the 2nd but for me I choose sleep but am very envious of those people who have no bad side effects and good insurance because the cost of this on Medicare will put you in the donut hole"

"Game changer! I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder. This is my 2nd time going back on Rexulti and I feel so much better! I take 0.5 mg and I am more stable than I've ever been. I do feel sleepy at times, but I will just exercise to combat the sleepiness."

"I had high hopes because of the positive reviews, it helped for a little while. I wasn’t suicidal and I felt in control but soon my hands began to shake so much I couldn’t do my work and I’m so painfully tired all the time and constantly groggy like I just woke up. I feel more depressed on the meds than I did off. I slowly felt more and more numb until nothing felt good anymore. I don’t do anything other than work and sleep."

"This has been amazing and I am just starting my third free pack. I feel happy and content and hopeful for the first time in years. The change is amazing. I almost wondered if I was manic, as this new mood is so new. I'm able to handle stress. I'm able to enjoy tasks and work. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. I haven't had the increased appetite that others have mentioned, but even if so, I would be overjoyed just due to the increase in mood and overall feeling of bliss."

"I've been taking it for a month. I'm diabetic and it has raised my sugar levels. My depression has had some relief but not totally. I've gained about 15 lbs since I started it, actually I was on Abilify first and recently switched over to Rexulti. I am sleepy before bedtime and wake up every 3 hours. I am willing to take anything in order to feel relief from depression."

"I started rexulti after I started having severe panic attacks. Everything was going great and it made me feel unstoppable. I was going out with friends and trying to watch my weight considering a side effect was weight gain. Then the problems started happening. I started having severe depressive episodes, panic attacks that caused my chest to hurt, and crying meltdowns. I think that this medicine is great for many people. I just happen to be one of the ones that it doesn’t help."

"I was on celexa 60mg for 20 years and it finally didn’t work anymore so my psychiatrist put me on abiilify first and then Rexulti which gave me uncontrollable body movements. Finally, I told my doctor to take me off all these medications and put me on a new drug which was lexapro 20mg and I feel fine. I strongly suggest not taking this drug unless you are severely depressed."

"Rexulti is not only expensive but causes a lot of uncontrolled movements of body. I strongly suggest you talk to your psychiatrist about this taking you off an antidepressant and trying a new one. I was on celexa for 20 years and now I am on lexapro 20 mg’s and am fine."

"I was prescribed Rexulti to help with anxiety and insomnia. The very first night I took it, I had hallucinations, which I have never had in my life. Assuming it was a side effect, it didn’t “scare me”, per se, but it was highly uncomfortable. I contacted the doctor and discontinued taking immediately. Currently trying Zyprexa, which seems to be much more effective without the side effects."

"I’m using 0.25 mg and on my third day. It makes you feel tired and so far haven’t felt any of the good parts. My mood hasn’t improved. I’m using it alongside Concerta to treat ADHD and when Concerta wears off, I cognitively don’t feel really sharp. Hasn’t given me major side effects but I’m not sure if it’s working"

"I have been on Paxil for 20 years and it slowly lost its effectiveness. Suicidal thoughts, past mistakes haunting me, wondering what the neighbors think, I don't even know my neighbors that well. Tried wellbutren but it was to hard on my eyes, totally lost appetite. Now I take 20mg of the paxil and .5 rexulti and after about a week I feel much better, still a little paranoid but thats life I guess. You will eat more but I think thats better than not eating."

"I wanted to ask a question. Is 4 mg of rexalti for depression? I have been on 3 mgs and it worked great. It stopped working and I got into a bad depression so my Dr increased my Rexulti to 4 mgs. Will that work for depression?"
