For High Blood Pressure "Heart rate drops to 55 to 60 per minute and does not go up beyond 70-75, even with exercise. Recovery to low heart rate very fast after exercise. Feel quite tired often. Dosage 2.5 mg bd and Losartan 50 mg bd. Is this dosage too much?"

For Heart Failure "I had angioplasty a couple of years back. Initially, I was prescribed 5 mg, but now it has been reduced to 2.5 mg. It made my heartbeat in the region of 55 to 60. It makes you feel tired always. I want to give it up for a few days to check if tiredness reduces."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I had been taking atenolol 2x per day because of hypertension, and an allergy prevented me from using metoprolol. Months ago, I started having AFIB occasionally. (I was running 3 miles per day through 2014, when I developed back problems, so I was historically in good shape.) The doctor put me on bisoprolol, and it has been perfect."

For Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "At a 2.5 mg daily dose, experienced fatigue initially; this either dissipated or became the new normal, so I don't recognize it any longer. Effective for decreasing the frequency of tachycardia; beta-blockers reduce the reoccurrence of heart attacks statistically, and so far has for me for four years. The 'vivid dreams' are a major factor in poor sleep for me: always very unpleasant, if not nightmares."

"I was prescribed Concor 2.5 mg because of my insane heart pulse rate, palpitations, and anxiety. My resting heartbeat was always over 100, and though my GP prescribed me an antidepressant (I’m not depressed, just stressed and suffer from anxiety), I decided to see a cardiologist who prescribed this beta blocker. It almost immediately took effect. For the first few days, I felt more relaxed and not like my heart was about to burst. However, I’ve been getting the worst headaches almost daily, and muscle stiffness and backaches. I’m not sure I want to continue with this for much longer, but I will give it at least two months to determine its full effects."

"I'm about to start off on 1.25 mg of bisoprolol, will add more and change rating once it has commenced, taking to hopefully reduce the tachycardia that comes with being upright or postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Been taking it for two months, and it doesn’t let my heart rate get above 120, which is amazing, as it used to hit 190 just standing up. However, I am so extremely dizzy and faint on this medication. I get head rushes constantly and have been bedridden due to it. I’m now switching to metoprolol and hoping that will make a difference. Tried to taper off of bisoprolol and had the worst chest pains."

For Heart Failure "Been on 3.75 mg for two years. Recently, I am feeling very, very lightheaded and have had to lie down all day. I will try decreasing the dosage to 2.5 mg now to see if it helps my blood pressure and makes my heartbeat normal."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "After what I believe may have been a heart attack. Five major chest blows. Two months of bed rest. I went to an internal medicine doctor, was put on Bisoprolol 5 mg, and started losing fluid. I lost the 60 pounds of fluid I gained. I was finally able to urinate a decent amount. I'm now seven years on it, and I believe it's losing its effect. Water weight is back, but I also believe getting the flu contributed to the setback. I don't know where to go from here."

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "Took it since 2013 after heart valve surgery - 6.25 mg. Later switched to a dose of 2.5 mg - started having a harder time tolerating low blood pressure. Did not feel any side effects, continued taking the medication even after the valve replacement in 2021. The medication is convenient - the dose can easily be adjusted for blood pressure, heart rate, and rhythm."

For High Blood Pressure "I've tried most beta blockers with no success because of intolerable side effects of depression and sexual dysfunction (impotence). Six months ago, I started using bisoprolol 5 mg, brand name Concor. It's been remarkably effective with zero side effects. Prior, I'd tried other brands of bisoprolol which gave me those dreadful side effects. Unfortunately, this miracle brand (Concor) is not obtainable in the US. I have been obtaining it from Nigeria, and I believe it's manufactured in India. I strongly recommend it for anyone who experienced those bad side effects from other brands."

"I developed inappropriate sinus tachycardia, where I was having HR spikes after eating a meal or randomly throughout the day. I would also occasionally have episodes of high HR while sleeping that would jolt me awake and keep me up for hours. It was significantly impacting my quality of life. After ruling out panic attacks and getting a diagnosis from a cardiologist, I tried this medication, and it has changed my life for the better. I'm on 2.5 mg per day, and while I occasionally get symptoms where I can feel my HR increasing, it rarely surpasses 100 bpm unless I'm exercising. I genuinely cannot praise this drug enough for helping with dysautonomia symptoms."

"I’ve been on this medicine for sinus tachycardia for a little while now. I definitely feel a difference compared to other medications I have used in the past. Ever since I have been on it, I have had very few side effects, and the medication lasts all day. Definitely works!"

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have been on bis for six months now. At the beginning, I felt better and had no side effects. However, gradually I noticed that I am losing more hair. Looking up online, it says a beta blocker would be toxic to hair follicles and cause hair thinning. Too worried, I decided to start weaning it off."
