For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have been taking Bisoprolol 2.5 mg tablets and Apixaban 2.5 mg for several years with no real side effects. It has kept the sudden heartbeat levels that occurred previously under control very well. The only thing that I keep an eye on is the fact that I have a naturally low pulse of around 50...so do not want the rate to drop lower. I have been very pleased with the treatment."

For High Blood Pressure "Not really sure how much this is helping me. Heart disease, STEMI heart attack... 99% blockage, 2 days on the bathroom floor, thought it was food poisoning but turned out way worse. Have moderate tissue damage and now have recurrent palpitations, so trying to get it all squared away. Was on many different types of beta blockers, so many that my HR was low 30s."

"Initially, I was amazed at how it helped me with other issues: anxiety and adrenal rushes. And no more atrial fibrillation issues. Taking 2.5 mg at bedtime and have been on it for 2 years. I noticed that I am very tired, depressed, and have difficulty with concentration. I attributed these symptoms to other factors. I felt weak and faint a lot. Then the headaches started daily, moderate at first, my eyes ached and my neck hurt. It has been 2 months now, and I have a headache every day. I also experienced tingling in my arms and hands, which I also attributed to overwork. I went to my GP about the headaches, and he seemed concerned about my abnormally low blood pressure. He is contacting the specialist that prescribed these meds, but I have had no response from them. After reading up on the side effects of these meds, I am choosing to gradually taper off. When the cure is worse than the initial problem, no thank you."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Bisoprolol was very helpful in reducing heart rate and blood pressure. Unfortunately, eye and facial itching as a side effect became overwhelming and unbearable. Hope to discontinue medicine and begin a replacement treatment soon."

For Heart Failure "Severe joint pain, cramps, fatigue, neck pain. Skin itching and eye area. I was on 5 mg, cut in half to 2.5 mg and still had the pains. I have stopped this bisoprolol. After 24 hrs, skin itching has stopped after the 2nd day without this med. Heart rate up a little, will evaluate after 5 days."

For High Blood Pressure "It helped to bring down my blood pressure, but the side effects I had were horrible. I had tingling, headaches, and weakness. I couldn't work for being so tired. Also, I started having involuntary muscle spasms. It had my blood sugar running low a lot."

For High Blood Pressure "APO Bisoprolol is, for me, an absolute BLOOD PRESSURE BUSTER. Prior to taking this brand, my average BP was on average 160/80-90. Now it is a consistent 116/68. I’ve found taking 5.0 mg early morning and 2.5 mg in the evening has allowed me to achieve these current results. Its only downside is some irritation to the abdomen, which is a small price to pay, I say. I am planning to adjust to 2.5 mg after each meal, which I will trial with cardiologist advice... Will post again after 3 months with results."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "My doctor prescribed me 5 mg Concor. When I started, my 208-213 bpm heart rate drops to 70-100 bpm. And also said that if this wouldn't help to drop, we can make a catheter ablation operation. I also tried to give up the pills for 2 days, then it again started to beat at 180-200 bpm. So I am good with 1 pill, 5 mg for a day."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have POTS, and bisoprolol works great for me. 2.5-5 mg a day really helps my tachycardia. I have no side effects besides maybe a few pounds of weight gain that’s hard to come off, but not a big deal. It’s not perfect, but it works very well for me."

For High Blood Pressure "74-year-old man, fit, healthy, blood pressure 150. - 1.25 gm/day reduced systolic to below 135 almost immediately. I tried stopping and drifted back to 145 plus. So, back on the drug again. No side effects. Very happy."

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "My history is bicuspid aortic valve replaced and grafted aortic root. Was on sotalol for 20 years (it was mostly an antiarrhythmic with some beta-blocking qualities)... but then they stopped making it. Cardiac doc switched me to bisoprolol 5mg daily. One year later: arrhythmia with a vengeance since going on this. Have also been taking magnesium citrate 150mg daily as per doc. Not liking the constant funny heartbeats and how tired I am in the afternoon. Going to see him soon to see if metoprolol might be a better alternative to this."

For High Blood Pressure "Terrible experience. Within ninety minutes of taking a 2 mg dose, severe palpitations and pain around the left pectoral and left shoulder. Significant discomfort lasted for around four hours. Stopped taking completely after two days. Previously on Metoprolol 50 mg daily, with no similar adverse effects, other than cold feet and hands after 6 weeks of medication. Male, 55 to 60 years."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I’m 72 and have been taking Ziac for over 20 years to control blood pressure and fluid retention. Last year, I had a bout of SVT and was switched to Metoprolol. I quickly developed swollen calves and ankles and felt poorly. Went back on Ziac and am back to normal. So I’m all for Bisoprolol HCTZ, generic Ziac. 2.5/6.5 each morning works just fine."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been taking bisoprolol for three weeks now. It has helped me immensely to bring down my blood pressure. No other medication did this for me. But now I am getting headaches and extremely tired. I am praying this gets better as it has big-time disruptions to my daily routine. I also take Candesartan and amlodipine. All low doses. I have been on the other two for many years. Bisoprolol keeps me out of the hospital with counts of 180/98 up to 200. Talk about anxiety. I don’t want to stop but am really hoping these headaches and tiredness go away. I am 74. I rated an 8 because of my new blood pressure. Not so good for the two side effects."

For High Blood Pressure "I have mild hypertension with severe anxiety. Tried Inderal before, which controls anxiety a bit, but was useless in hypertension. So suggested Bisoprolol 2.5 mg. I feel it can be a great show for anxiety with hypertension."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Started on a half pill a day, and it worked for about a week. Upped to a full pill after that, but recently had the worst attack I've had in a long time. Glad to be seeing the cardiologist in a couple of weeks. Going to try diet alterations instead."

For High Blood Pressure "2.5 mg bisoprolol has lowered my blood pressure considerably so that I'm in the normal range. Previously, I was taking an ACE inhibitor, a calcium channel blocker, and a diuretic, yet blood pressure was still too high. 68-year-old male, no underlying cardiac issues...essential hypertension...this medication has really helped me. Hypertension should not be left untreated, so while you may not be able to achieve 120/80, if you can get your systolic under 140 consistently, that's pretty good. Only negative...my aerobic workload capacity is diminished by about 10% when compared to pre-bisoprolol performance on an elliptical trainer. But for anybody who has not had much success with the other antihypertensives, talk to your doctor about adding bisoprolol. I'm still taking the other medications, but the calming effect of bisoprolol made it easy for me to discontinue a low dose of Effexor, a drug prescribed for depression and anxiety, but a drug that also contributes to hypertension."

For High Blood Pressure "My symptoms were diarrhea, light-headedness, low blood pressure, and finally swelling of my left foot and the left side of my face. I noticed that the upper right side of my lip was askew. That made me think that I might have had a mini-stroke. I went off the meds myself, and I think that I was right. Three years later, I do know that the left side of my face is marginally still swollen. My doctor did not see the swelling when it was more prominent. I insisted that he change my meds."

For High Blood Pressure "PT has been on this drug for 1 year. He has been having a sudden fall once a month. ECG shows RBBB but no mark of dropped beats. Dr. stopped Concor 2.5 and told to go in for pacemaker implantation. Another doctor's opinion taken-advised that there has been no episode of falls after the stoppage of Concor, hence, go for Holter monitoring and wait."

"Started taking 5 mg of Bisoprolol for AF, which has returned after 18 months of me being free from the condition after DC cardioversion, but woke up the following morning with a dead left foot due to bad circulation! I have dizzy spells when getting up, and worse of all, shortness of breath when doing very little (I've played squash all my life, and even with AF, I never had this problem). I'm now going to half the dosage to see if things improve."

For High Blood Pressure "Together with amlodipine, it initially dropped my pressure to normal levels. Now that my levels are up, I'd like to increase the dose, but it gives me noodle legs and saps my strength. It's a balancing act, but I'm satisfied at the moment."

For High Blood Pressure "Been on this for three weeks now. It’s great for keeping my blood pressure normal. Gone through the headaches, but now for a week, my body is sore and weak. It’s hard to move about. I will be talking to my doc. I really don’t want to go off because of good blood pressure. I was in the hospital weekly and very scared. I'm on a low dose of 2.5 daily."
