For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I am fed up with this drug. I was prescribed it at 2.5 mg in April 2023 after an episode of SVT that resulted in hospitalization. I have suffered so many side effects - tired, dizzy, headaches, and body aches, particularly nasty left leg pains and stiffness. As a consequence, my dose has been reduced to 1.75 mg. But I am still suffering side effects - tiredness and now very itchy skin. I have had a few incidents of arrhythmia and high heartbeats since taking it at the lower dose too."

"Initially, I was amazed at how it helped me with other issues: anxiety and adrenal rushes. And no more atrial fibrillation issues. Taking 2.5 mg at bedtime and have been on it for 2 years. I noticed that I am very tired, depressed, and have difficulty with concentration. I attributed these symptoms to other factors. I felt weak and faint a lot. Then the headaches started daily, moderate at first, my eyes ached and my neck hurt. It has been 2 months now, and I have a headache every day. I also experienced tingling in my arms and hands, which I also attributed to overwork. I went to my GP about the headaches, and he seemed concerned about my abnormally low blood pressure. He is contacting the specialist that prescribed these meds, but I have had no response from them. After reading up on the side effects of these meds, I am choosing to gradually taper off. When the cure is worse than the initial problem, no thank you."

For High Blood Pressure "It helped to bring down my blood pressure, but the side effects I had were horrible. I had tingling, headaches, and weakness. I couldn't work for being so tired. Also, I started having involuntary muscle spasms. It had my blood sugar running low a lot."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been taking bisoprolol for three weeks now. It has helped me immensely to bring down my blood pressure. No other medication did this for me. But now I am getting headaches and extremely tired. I am praying this gets better as it has big-time disruptions to my daily routine. I also take Candesartan and amlodipine. All low doses. I have been on the other two for many years. Bisoprolol keeps me out of the hospital with counts of 180/98 up to 200. Talk about anxiety. I don’t want to stop but am really hoping these headaches and tiredness go away. I am 74. I rated an 8 because of my new blood pressure. Not so good for the two side effects."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I was on propranolol immediate release for about 6 years for palpitations and a racing heart at night. I NEVER had any issues in those 6 years until 3 months ago. I was given a higher dose of propranolol, and I had horrible side effects. The doctor put me on metoprolol and I had worse side effects, increased PVCs and STVs. The cardiologist put me on bisoprolol. It has been 2 weeks, and I still wake up around 3 am with a racing heart, and I have had a headache every single day. Hoping in another 2 weeks that it will work on the palpitations and get rid of the side effects."

For High Blood Pressure "Been on this for three weeks now. It’s great for keeping my blood pressure normal. Gone through the headaches, but now for a week, my body is sore and weak. It’s hard to move about. I will be talking to my doc. I really don’t want to go off because of good blood pressure. I was in the hospital weekly and very scared. I'm on a low dose of 2.5 daily."

"I was prescribed Concor 2.5 mg because of my insane heart pulse rate, palpitations, and anxiety. My resting heartbeat was always over 100, and though my GP prescribed me an antidepressant (I’m not depressed, just stressed and suffer from anxiety), I decided to see a cardiologist who prescribed this beta blocker. It almost immediately took effect. For the first few days, I felt more relaxed and not like my heart was about to burst. However, I’ve been getting the worst headaches almost daily, and muscle stiffness and backaches. I’m not sure I want to continue with this for much longer, but I will give it at least two months to determine its full effects."
