For Immune Thrombocytopenia "I take one tablet a day, and my platelets stay above forty. There are no bleeding episodes. Side effects - constant fatigue, frequent headaches, and for some reason, I've started gaining weight. Not as much as with prednisone, but still an unpleasant factor. I'm also plagued by constant bloating and my hair is falling out severely."

For Thrombocytopenia "I was taking Doptelet to build platelets prior to knee replacement surgery. It was doing a great job building my platelet amount. I was prescribed two tablets at once at the same time every day. I was complaining to my friends about not fitting into my clothes and cramping. I felt like I had blown up like a balloon overnight. One of my friends asked me if I’d checked the side effects. It was all there: swelling, rapid weight gain, nosebleeds, shortness of breath, and struggling to breathe after light exertion. Stabbing pain in my brain and headaches. I would still take this drug over an infusion of platelets."

For Immune Thrombocytopenia "Tried steroids, rituximab, IVIG, nothing works as well as Doptelet. I take it 2x each week, and my platelets are around 50k. No side effects except when I first started taking it and had mild headaches. For me, it's a godsend."
