Cedax and Alcohol/Food Interactions

Ceftibuten and multivitamin with minerals should not be taken orally at the same time. Products that contain zinc may interfere with the absorption of ceftibuten into the bloodstream and reduce its effectiveness. You should take multivitamin with minerals at least three hours after taking ceftibuten. The following interaction applies only if you are taking ceftibuten (brand name Cedax) in the liquid formulation: Food may reduce the absorption of ceftibuten from the liquid (suspension) formulation, which may lead to lower blood levels of the medication and possibly reduced effectiveness. Therefore, it should be taken on an empty stomach at least two hours before or one hour after a meal. If you are taking the capsule formulation, you may take it with or without food.
