For Birth Control: took this for 1 month and experienced no major mood swings or nausea. However, immediately, I got CANKER sores (I never get these) and pimples (when my complexion is generally clear). Then I had light spotting for a few days about 1.5 weeks prior to when my period should have came - then it was followed by heavy breakthrough bleeding. Can't recommend this if you're trying to regulate your period. Will be switching to a different brand. |

For Birth Control: I'm conflicted. I was on Trinessa, but about 8mos ago was switched to this one. The first few months went smoothly -- I've had much better skin than before and I haven't had significant weight changes, stomach problems or mood changes, and I remain blissfully Not Pregnant. However... the "spotting." I guess taking my ability to have sex outside of a shower is a kind of birth control. At first I thought this was just a matter of adjusting and it would be gone in a few months. Nope. This keeps happening, despite taking it religiously at 11am every day. Every month or two the bleeding starts in the 2nd week of my pack and rarely stops until the end of week 4. It's not always light spotting either. Today I'm a stuck pig, tomorrow I might only produce a few drops. I'm already an underweight person with a family history of anemia. I have no idea what losing this amount of blood regularly could be doing to my health and can't afford to go back to the doctor for advice. For Birth Control: I had a baby girl 6 months ago and I started this about 2 months ago and at first was doing great with it, but then after about 2 weeks of taking it have really noticed some not so great changes in me. My chin is constantly breaking out, so it did not help clear up the acne. I have really had some bad mood swings of just feeling really sad and my anxiety has been pretty bad. It has really messed with my sleeping patterns. I also gained about 16 lbs from the time I started taking this pill until now. I wear contacts and it really seems to dry my eyes out and make my vision a little blurry, which I haven't really had much trouble with before. I am seeing my doctor soon and we are planning on switching me to another birth control pill. |

For Birth Control: At 41 yo, I recently asked my Dr to go back on a low dose BC despite having had my tubes tied after my last child’s birth. I was suffering from heavy bleeding and cycles ranging from 22 to 32 days and just wanted some predictability. I took Larissa for two packs back-to-back starting off... no real side effects to start, but by week 2, some pimples. They eventually cleared up, but by then the crazy bloating/ constipation/ weight gain had kicked in. My face was puffy, and I didn’t fit in a single pair of jeans despite continuing my usual workout routine and not changing my (healthy-normal) diet. I ended up gaining 12 pounds over 6 weeks, which is a lot of weight for my petite frame! After the 2nd pack, I had a period which was light, but still not worth starting another pack.
