For Birth Control "Going on month six of the Larissia birth control, and it is the best birth control I have taken. Before I started it, I came here to read reviews and got very nervous based on the negative effects people were experiencing. All I can say is you have to try it for yourself because everyone’s body is different. I have experienced no crazy mood swings, no depressing thoughts, and no high anxiety. Unlike the other birth controls I have tried in the past that make me lose my sex drive and become dry, this one increased it!!! It feels like I’m not even on birth control. I’ve had no pregnancy scares (I do take it daily and don’t miss a day) and have had no problems with it. The only negative I can give this pill is that it didn’t take away my acne but definitely didn’t make my acne worse. Don’t let reviews scare you away from trying a birth control because it could work the best for your body!"

"IDK who needs to hear this, but this BC is the reason you’re not feeling like yourself. I have been taking Larissia for 8 months. At first, I was only experiencing painful, constant headaches and increased appetite, but as time went on, the side effects worsened, and TBH, I was in denial and didn’t want to switch because my periods are so light and only last 3 days. But it’s not worth how fatigued, angry, uncontrollable, depressed, anxious, and emotional I feel. I have been falling out with the people closest to me for no reason. My sex drive decreased, the headaches are so painful my vision gets blurry, and with all this, I have a child to care for. So, I’m here to warn you: pay close attention to your body. If you feel even slightly different, immediately stop taking it because it will get worse. Avoid this BC at all costs!!"

For Birth Control "I’m 40, and my doctor recommended that I try birth control to help control mid-cycle bleeding and horrible periods. I took this birth control for the first month and was so sick every day for that entire month. I was nauseous, bloated, anxious, and had a headache that I just couldn’t shake. It increased my acid reflux to the point that I had to sleep sitting up. I took two pills from the second pack and then threw them out. Best thing I ever did! I’d rather deal with two days of bad period cramps and one day of mid-cycle bleeding than having to deal with the side effects from this birth control! One and only positive: my period didn’t require super absorbency tampons, and my cramps were not as bad."

For Birth Control "Oh my goodness! Worst birth control ever taken. I was taking Orsthyia for the past 3 years, and CVS switched me to Larissa. I've had heart palpitations, anxiety, and my stomach constantly stays tore up. I've had the worst stomach indigestion of my life. Every time I eat, I feel nauseous. My body also feels like I'm constantly swollen. I DO NOT recommend this birth control for anybody!"

For Birth Control "Larissa is by far the worst birth control I have ever used. The mood swings, depression, and anxiety were through the roof. I was constantly emotional and anxious about nothing. I didn’t feel like I was in my own body. My head was always foggy. My appetite changed, and so did my sleeping. A week before my period, I would always get unbearable uterus pain. Do not use this birth control whatsoever. Always do your research!"

For Birth Control "I switched from Microgestin FE to Larissia. Microgestin FE gave me terrible anxiety and depression and made me feel like I was an alien in my own body. Switching to Larissia, I definitely had some cramping, breakthrough bleeding, mood swings, and acne during my first 2-3 packs of this pill, but after a couple months, all of those symptoms went away. My first pack, I could tell that my boobs were bigger, but that went away as well over time. I haven’t gained any weight on this pill (I was actually hoping that I would) and have less acne than I did while on other pills. I would recommend this to a friend."

For Birth Control "The worst birth control pill ever. Was on IUD before and decided to switch because I felt it was better for me in the long run. Been on it for 2 months and noticed that switching was the worst decision I have ever made. The IUD worked great for me. No side effects and no weight gain. When I switched to Larissia, I gained 10 lbs in 2 months, and I can’t seem to get the weight off. The less I eat, the more I gain, and I was never like that. My anxiety level has been out of control as well. I’m always fatigued and groggy. Though it was all in my head, but after I saw all the reviews, I’m definitely stopping it."

For Birth Control "Oh my goodness. This drug has been awful for me. The only good side is that my acne has cleared up. I am going to be switching to something else, as this pill has made me gain 20 pounds, have migraines (never had before), be super fatigued and groggy, mood swings, extreme back pain and chest pain, breast tenderness all the time, and extreme anxiety (which I am diagnosed with panic disorder and have been on something to help me deal/cope, and this drug has made me fall into the same bad anxiety spells). Maybe it works for others, but oh boy, I am excited to stop taking this pill."

For Birth Control "The pros: Larissia cleared up my acne, and I had no breakthrough bleeding or even periods (other than once in a while a very light one-day period). The cons: I gained seven pounds and developed anxiety so severe that I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. Since quitting Larissia altogether, I feel totally like myself again. I had never struggled with anxiety or depression previously, and within a week or so of stopping it, I feel totally normal again and no crippling anxiety, so it’s hard not to come to the conclusion it was caused by Larissia. I previously took Orsythia with no problems whatsoever and was switched to Larissia due to pharmacy availability."

For Birth Control "Do not take this! It has literally been the worst 2 months ever. The first month I was EXTREMELY nauseous the whole time. In these two months I’ve had lots of heartburn, been extremely emotional, I used to only need 7-8 hours of sleep and now I need like 10, I randomly get super anxious and really sad. I have a great life, so idk why I’m becoming so sad. It has mainly made me feel like a chicken with my head cut off who is drowning. WORST PART: All these issues have been causing me to be ungrateful and selfish, and it’s tearing apart my relationship with my best friend, aka my fiancé! I know it’s got to be partly me, but dang this stuff just switched me 180 degrees. My fiancé says I’m a stranger to him."

For Birth Control "At 44 years old, I've never had an adverse response to BC. I was switched to Larissia for decreased hormones. One week in, I was unable to sleep at night. Felt anxious in the evenings... which is extremely unusual. Third week in, I developed a strange rash below and had an extremely upset GI system, diarrhea included. Could not understand what was going on. Referred to the symptoms pamphlet and began to connect dots. First day on the second pack was yesterday. The upset belly became so unbearable and itchiness below has made me call in to work today (as well as diarrhea). I just feel all 'off'. Luckily, my husband has a vasectomy. I will not be taking BC for this month. I will request my old brand. Perimenopausal symptoms had me back on BC... but I would rather have those symptoms vs. side effects from Larissia. I don't want to even try to give it longer. When I was younger, I may have tried one more month, but I've tried a variety in my life to know this one just doesn't feel right for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissa about three months ago, and it’s horrible. I have constant headaches, I have severe anxiety, and I’m extremely fatigued and can’t seem to get out of bed. I’ve been on different birth controls for years now and am considering taking a break because the side effects are not worth it. I do not recommend this birth control at all, as it’s made me feel horrible and uncontrollable."

For Birth Control "My acne worsened. I got awful anxiety attacks that I have never experienced before. I am very little and was told I wouldn’t gain weight, and I have. The absolute worst is the nausea, constantly nauseous and feeling I’m going to throw up."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control I’ve ever tried, and I absolutely hated it! I took it for 2 months and got terrible nightmares every night. Also, it gave me extreme anxiety, and I suffered from heart palpitations. My mood swings were terrible, and I gained a bunch of weight. I was also bleeding for 3 weeks, but I think that’s normal for the first few months. Also, my acne got worse too. Do not take this drug with antibiotics because it gave me the weirdest delayed nervous system feeling and extreme nausea. I didn’t get pregnant, though..."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larissia for about two weeks, and I hate it. I’ve been having constant spotting for the past week, slight nausea, headache, anxiety, and just low motivation all around. Mind you, this is my second time taking birth control, I first took another brand for three and a half years, and it was completely symptom-free, minus being slightly more emotional. I can’t wait to finish this pack of Larissia, I’m so tempted to just throw the rest of the pack away and deal with the consequences, lol."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this form of birth control since April 1st, 2020. Ever since I’ve become sexually active with it, I’ve had no problems with pregnancy scares. When I did first start out, though, it did make my vagina very dry. I also have been experiencing a little bit of depression and anxiety with it, but it’s not overwhelming."

For Birth Control "It is awful. Ever since I've started taking Larissia, I have been anxious and have had insomnia. While it does reduce my heavy periods, it seems to me like I'm just constantly on my period every single day. It makes me nauseous, and there have been a few times I've thrown up because of it."

For Birth Control "I came on this website to see if anyone else was experiencing the same things. They are. I have been on Larissia for two years now. This was the first birth control I ever took. When I first started taking it, I remember it gave me severe cramps! But all was good after I took it for a few months because I no longer had periods. Then I started developing side effects of severe headaches, horrendous acne on my face and back, nausea all the time, light sensitivity to the point of many passing out spells, poor circulation in my hands and feet to the point of no feeling, vision loss, loss of appetite, severe sensitivity in my breasts, weight loss and gain, horrendous mood swings, horrible anxiety, always feeling confused, and many more. Don’t take this birth control! It’s not worth it. I’m in the stage right now of not taking it, trying to get back to normal."

For Birth Control "I took Larissia as my very first birth control in Jan. I had really bad dizziness/motion sickness to where everything would be “swimming” around me for the first two months. It would happen randomly whether sitting or moving around. I mentioned it to my gyno, but she said she’s never heard of the dizziness as a symptom before and to continue to take it so my body gets used to it. The dizziness did eventually go down, but it was still prevalent in some motions (bending up and down frequently, or moving head side to side too much). I think I had a hard time losing weight on it as well, as I eventually gained back some weight I lost before taking it, and couldn’t lose anything even on an appetite suppressant and exercise. Sex drive was definitely down, and my anxiety would get bad at times. Otherwise, I felt confident in its ability to prevent pregnancy, never had a scare. Periods were light and only 3-4 days."

For Birth Control "A little over three months ago, my doctor told me that my regular brand of birth control was being changed to Larissia. She said it was the same thing and nothing should happen. This has happened before, so I didn’t think anything. I started Larissia, and I started waking up and going to bed nauseous. My breasts hurt all the time, I was constipated, and it made my anxiety go way up. All these symptoms made me believe I was pregnant. I have gone to the doctors multiple times for tests and even had to have them do an ultrasound to verify. I have always had anxiety, but while taking this pill, it made me a whole different person. The constipation from this pill has also racked up a 5k hospital bill because the pain got so bad. I looked up the ingredients, found the reviews, and discovered it was the pill doing this. I changed to an IUD yesterday, and I’m being put on anxiety meds to help. It might just be me, but if you already have anxiety, I would definitely look it up before using."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Larissia for about a year. I started it because my periods were very irregular. When I started, I only weighed about 140, and over the span of the time I've been on this pill, I've gained 25-30 pounds. I do have to say my periods are a lot lighter but still not super regular. They come and go as they please. I am looking into switching to another pill that will help get me on a regular schedule. Also, I did get very bad anxiety and mood swings since I've started taking this pill. And I am also very bloated after eating anything, which I never used to experience. I am looking into switching and getting off this pill. I have heard many good and bad things about it, but I would not personally recommend."
