For Birth Control "Larissia is the best experience ever with this birth control. Ever since I started taking it, I felt happier, less anxious, and depressed, except for when I’m on the non-hormone pills. My face has cleared up a lot and I get only 2 or 3 pimples right before my period. I have no cramps during my periods or feel nauseous any time while on the pill. I was most scared of gaining weight while on the pill, but so far have not gained any, which is the best part!"

For Birth Control "I was getting the Depo-Provera shot consistently for 2 years and I got pregnant. I decided to get a medical abortion (the pill) and the doctor prescribed me Larissia. I cannot comment much about the first 2 weeks because I was bleeding heavily due to the abortion. My face cleared up a lot in the 6 months I have been taking it. I have not gained any weight and have not experienced nausea. I do have fibroids on my ovaries causing extremely painful periods. While taking this birth control, I have not had a single cramp while menstruating. In addition, I have not gotten pregnant on it, so it seems to be working. Everyone's bodies are different, so please keep that in mind. Also, people are quick to report the negative and are not so quick to report the positive. So please keep that in mind when reading all of the comments."

For Birth Control "I’m 40, and my doctor recommended that I try birth control to help control mid-cycle bleeding and horrible periods. I took this birth control for the first month and was so sick every day for that entire month. I was nauseous, bloated, anxious, and had a headache that I just couldn’t shake. It increased my acid reflux to the point that I had to sleep sitting up. I took two pills from the second pack and then threw them out. Best thing I ever did! I’d rather deal with two days of bad period cramps and one day of mid-cycle bleeding than having to deal with the side effects from this birth control! One and only positive: my period didn’t require super absorbency tampons, and my cramps were not as bad."

For Birth Control "Oh my goodness! Worst birth control ever taken. I was taking Orsthyia for the past 3 years, and CVS switched me to Larissa. I've had heart palpitations, anxiety, and my stomach constantly stays tore up. I've had the worst stomach indigestion of my life. Every time I eat, I feel nauseous. My body also feels like I'm constantly swollen. I DO NOT recommend this birth control for anybody!"

For Birth Control "This is the first type of birth control I’ve ever been on and NOT a good experience! I am currently on the placebo pills, so the last week of the first pack. (1 month total of medication) I already struggle with acne, so when I first started taking this pill, it got worse! I have acne all over my chin, lower cheeks, and forehead! My acne is the worst it’s ever been. On top of that, I started my period today, it’s already heavier than normal, and I had to call off work today because as soon as I got up, I immediately felt nauseous and faint. I started seeing black and yellow spots and heard ringing in my ears. I have a piercing headache. Again, do NOT recommend! I am calling my doctor this week and getting off of this pill!"

For Birth Control "Since there aren't many reviews for this brand and most of them aren't that great, I thought I'd share my experience since the reviews here scared me a little. I went on BC for the first time and started out with Sprintec, which was awful. I had horrible mood swings, nausea, and it was making me depressed. I immediately switched, and the first week on Larissia I was still feeling this way, but that's probably just the Sprintec wearing off. Now, I feel great, no mood swings, and it's even making me grow in 'all the right places.' So pleased with this pill!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Larissa for a month now. In the beginning, I didn’t mind it, till the end of the month. I just don’t feel like myself anymore, nothing really makes me happy, and I’m in a new relationship and finally with someone who does make me happy, and I just find myself in a slump. IDK why... also not helping my anxiety at all. I feel like it’s making it worse. I feel like I can’t do anything. And this past week, I’ve been feeling very sick and just out of it. So nauseous every morning... definitely thinking about switching."

For Birth Control "The first week I started on Larissia, it was an unexpected change. I went to get a refill, and they said this was the same, just with a different name and package. They were wrong. The first week I forgot to take a pill one night, so, as directed, I took it as soon as I remembered, which happened to be around 9 am. I took my next pill for the night around 11 pm and got extremely ill. I spent the whole night and next day throwing up and feeling just awful. I also had almost every side effect listed. I thought my body just needed to adjust, so I waited it out. Most of the symptoms went away by the second month, EXCEPT the nausea and other stomach issues. I haven’t been able to sleep or eat because my stomach is constantly upset. Every day the cycle of nausea starts again. The only upside is that my last period was pain-free, and I got a whole week of not feeling any side effects. I really don’t know if I can last for another whole month."

For Birth Control "Do not take this! It has literally been the worst 2 months ever. The first month I was EXTREMELY nauseous the whole time. In these two months I’ve had lots of heartburn, been extremely emotional, I used to only need 7-8 hours of sleep and now I need like 10, I randomly get super anxious and really sad. I have a great life, so idk why I’m becoming so sad. It has mainly made me feel like a chicken with my head cut off who is drowning. WORST PART: All these issues have been causing me to be ungrateful and selfish, and it’s tearing apart my relationship with my best friend, aka my fiancé! I know it’s got to be partly me, but dang this stuff just switched me 180 degrees. My fiancé says I’m a stranger to him."

For Birth Control "The first month on Larissia, it was good, my skin cleared up. I weighed like 116 pounds, and of course, I wanted to gain weight. This made me 140 pounds in 3 months, and I worked out and ate a lot, so it gave me a big butt and a little stomach. But it made me really nauseous and sad all the time, and I did end up getting pregnant, but I had a huge blood clot miscarriage a few months after. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want to always be nauseous, sad, and pregnant."

For Birth Control "I have been on Larissa for almost four years now after switching from another higher dose of estrogen. My doctor put me on this because she thought it would make my cramps lighter, etc. I have been bloated and gained 30 pounds and look pregnant all the time! I recently developed hives and a horrible allergic reaction. I had tons of tests done, and my doctor couldn’t figure out what it was from. Little did I know I was slowly poisoning my body with this tiny pill every day for four years. I am finally saying goodbye to this horrible thing and hoping my life will get back on track. The symptoms got worse as the years went by: back pain, nausea, abdominal pain, bloating, and headaches. This isn’t worth it!"

For Birth Control "Since I started Larissia, I have been a completely different person. I have had horrible angry outbursts, severe depression, and awful mood swings. I am someone that's diagnosed with depression, so this is just my personal experience, but I feel like this medicine amplified that. I was taking a different brand of this medication before, Lutera, and I was fine, but my pharmacy changed it to this one. I have also experienced nausea almost every single day after taking it. The first few weeks, my stomach was completely torn up. I had severe constipation, and I couldn't eat anything. I never have constipation problems. I still am having digestive issues, which is so weird for me. I will say I'm not getting the PMS symptoms I normally get. As for everything else though, the mental issues are making this absolutely unbearable for me, and I am getting off of this medication as soon as I finish this pack."

For Birth Control "Originally, I started the Larissia birth control in 2018. I stopped taking it because I wasn’t having sex, and I gained 20 pounds, plus having the worst side effects. I started taking it again and have been on Larissia since the end of January. My periods are regular, but I have very light bleeding. But I’ve also gained another 20 pounds. I’m super bloated when I eat and feel nauseous and moody a lot. So far, this birth control has been great for not getting pregnant, but the side effects are terrible."

For Birth Control "This is crazy. I thought I was tripping. I decided to get back on birth control after Depo in November, and I haven’t gotten the shot since. My OB/GYN asked me what I had in mind. I told her I want something that’s undetectable, no NuvaRing, and definitely no IUDs (Mirena). I had very bad migraines as a result. So she said, "I can prescribe you some birth control pills that will work just as good as Depo, but it may make you nauseous." She asked, "Do I smoke?" I don’t. She says, "You're good, you won’t have to worry about blood clots." She sends it to the pharmacy, the brand is Larissa 28. I take it the following morning, and shortly after I start feeling cramps out of nowhere, striking painful cramps. I think of it as nothing. I ate lunch. Later on, I got so itchy, and it felt like something was on my legs. It’s nothing. I showered. I had a sudden migraine, it lasted all evening and night. On top of that, as I was trying to fall asleep, I felt my heart pulsating, beats, minor chest pain, and nausea. I won't be continuing, it isn't worth your health."

For Birth Control "My acne worsened. I got awful anxiety attacks that I have never experienced before. I am very little and was told I wouldn’t gain weight, and I have. The absolute worst is the nausea, constantly nauseous and feeling I’m going to throw up."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Orsythia for 3 years and never had any issues. My new doctor put me on this since they are both generics. My experience has been absolutely awful. I have had the worst acid reflux/indigestion, and I have never had these issues before starting this birth control. It has also caused me to be nauseated 24/7, which causes me to vomit. I would not recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "This pill is by far the worst birth control pill and birth control experience I’ve had. It is very effective at controlling pregnancy, but the side effects suck. Worst one yet for me, I’ve been bleeding/breakthrough bleeding and spotting for about 2 weeks now. Also, mood swings and nauseous all the time. It’s been a bad couple of weeks due to this birth control pill. It sucks because people like me have to pay to see the doctor, so in order for me to change, I have to have enough money to cover the co-pay, so I have to deal with Larissia until I can afford to switch. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!"

For Birth Control "I’ve tried so many birth control pills before this one. Every single one before has made me extremely depressed, gained weight, and has not helped my acne. Larissia is the first pill that’s actually been so great I had to come on here and write a review! I haven’t had any negative side effects, besides some occasional nausea after I take it, but I am really enjoying this pill. The last few months of it have proven this will be the pill I’ll be sticking with long-term."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control I’ve ever tried, and I absolutely hated it! I took it for 2 months and got terrible nightmares every night. Also, it gave me extreme anxiety, and I suffered from heart palpitations. My mood swings were terrible, and I gained a bunch of weight. I was also bleeding for 3 weeks, but I think that’s normal for the first few months. Also, my acne got worse too. Do not take this drug with antibiotics because it gave me the weirdest delayed nervous system feeling and extreme nausea. I didn’t get pregnant, though..."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this for only 4 days, and I feel TERRIBLE. The side effects hit me like a truck. My breasts hurt so bad, I’m extremely dizzy and VERY nauseous. I’ve also had really bad acid reflux today, which is weird because that’s not normal at all for me. I really don't like this pill, but I DO NOT want to get pregnant - it’s my only option :("

For Birth Control "Larissia is the first birth control I have ever tried, and I have been quite happy with my experience. I’ve been on it for 11 months, and in the beginning, it was really good, aside from some mood swings. I experienced some nausea, but it wasn’t too bad. I will now be switching because the past few months I’ve started spotting in the middle of my pack, and it doesn’t end until I start the next pack. :( I really liked this pill and didn’t have any other negative side effects besides the spotting. I would really recommend this pill, though, to anyone who is looking for a good birth control."

For Birth Control "I haven't felt this bad in years. Take a horrific stomach virus and combine it with the worst PMS symptoms you've ever experienced - that's how I felt on Larissia. Nausea, acid reflux, diarrhea, and full-body aches and pains, plus fatigue, lack of motivation, depression, mood swings, and crying at the drop of a hat. At least when you're cycling naturally, the latter symptoms (minus the nausea, acid reflux, and diarrhea) disappear when your period starts. With Larissia, this is your life; it doesn't end. I had to stop after 2 weeks because I can't live like this 'until my hormones balance out' after 3 months; I have a job and responsibilities and can't afford to be so physically and mentally compromised. I'll be taking proton pump inhibitors for the next 2 weeks to try to heal my stomach. If I could, I would throw the rest of the pack on the FDA's lawn in protest. I gave this a 2 and not a 1 because at least I didn't get a blood clot. Avoid Larissia at all costs."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larissia for about two weeks, and I hate it. I’ve been having constant spotting for the past week, slight nausea, headache, anxiety, and just low motivation all around. Mind you, this is my second time taking birth control, I first took another brand for three and a half years, and it was completely symptom-free, minus being slightly more emotional. I can’t wait to finish this pack of Larissia, I’m so tempted to just throw the rest of the pack away and deal with the consequences, lol."

For Birth Control "I started Larissa over a month ago to manage PCOS. I went from barely having any period symptoms besides vaginal tenderness to experiencing headaches, tender breasts, cramps, fatigue, and sometimes nausea. However, I think this is because my body is still adjusting to the hormones. I don’t have any mental symptoms. I’m not sexually active, but this med makes me super wet and horny all the time, especially when I normally would be ovulating. It has worked really well for me, though, regulated my period right away and is preventing infertility and reproductive cancers. So I’m good with popping some Midol to treat side effects."

For Birth Control "Started this because I struggle with cramps and mood swings during my periods, but this pill was 10 times worse. Definitely be careful if you already have mental health struggles— I have bipolar disorder, and this pill made me more depressed than I'd been in years, and I was almost hospitalized multiple times. I already get migraines, but they got much more severe, and the nausea was constant. I couldn’t eat anything without feeling awful. Other fun side effects have included digestion issues and constant bloating, getting acne for the first time in my life, gaining weight consistently, breasts growing in size, breast tenderness, and periods that became even more painful and irregular than when I started. Not to mention, I feel awful self-esteem-wise and have grown to hate my appearance. I’m glad this works for some people, but I will be getting off of it as soon as possible!!"
