Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I was prescribed Zomig by my neurologist. I have severe headaches. After taking it, it would kick in in about 30 minutes, and the pain would go away. However, after taking sumatriptan instead of this, it wouldn't work as fast as it did before, and I had to wait for hours before it would be completely gone. It works great, though!"

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I've been using Zomig for acute migraines for about 3 years. Luckily, I don't suffer from chronic migraines; I only get about 9 a year. I take a 2.5 mg dose, which takes about 40 mins to kick in. Eliminates the pain, nausea, and light sensitivity. I haven't experienced any side effects; however, I did notice that some migraines returned after 24 hours. I've heard that zolmitriptan use can cause rebound headaches, which could be what I experienced. The rebound isn't as bad as the original onset, and I try to hold off from a second dose if I can - try to sleep it off instead. Overall, happy with it as a weapon against migraines, enables me to function."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "This product seemed to work really fast, but sometimes it wouldn't take care of all the pain from the migraine. Also, I noticed when I do a hard body workout at the gym and if I get a migraine the next day or two after that workout, the medicine made my body ache real bad. My chest, arms, and legs would really hurt from the constricting blood vessels."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "The side effects far outweighed the benefits. Before I ever noticed that a migraine had begun to subside, I was overwhelmed with the most awful tingling sensation. It literally felt like I had a full body rash and as though something was crawling on me, mixed with the tingly sensation when your foot falls asleep. I also got very weak and nauseous, and occasionally light-headed. It was dreadful. I finally decided it was easier to take my regular migraine meds and treat the actual migraine symptoms than to deal with the side effects of Zomig. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 is because it did slightly lessen the actual migraine."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I have been taking this for years, and it has saved my life. I have daily migraines and have had them all my life due to several causes I won’t go into. Zomig ZMT 5 mg is the only thing that works for me. Not in 20 mins like others said, may take 2 hrs in the dark, but it does work, and nothing else does. My problem is that in 2018, I started having trouble getting it. AstraZeneca used to make a generic that was the same through Impax. Cost me about $400 per month for 30. Impax has discontinued it. Now, to get that amount of Zomig, it is about $6,800. No formularies carry it. The only thing Zomig can find is the garbage from India, which is not the same at all and works zero percent of the time. This was the only thing that kept me functioning, and I am very scared. I have been taking rizatriptan (Maxalt) from Costa Rica. I have to take at least twice as much of it, and it still does not work very well."

For Migraine "Lifelong migraine sufferer. This medicine is the best thing for killing a migraine. Whether I take it as soon as one starts, or try to suffer through it for a day or so using over-the-counter meds. I know once I take a Zomig, I will have relief within a half hour. I am extremely thankful this medicine exists."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "Zomig nasal spray is a lifesaver. My migraine is gone within 20 minutes, and I don't get any side effects of oral triptans like I used to. I used to need to go to bed for the rest of the day when taking a triptan, but the nasal spray bypasses the stomach, and I don't have those weird side effects anymore! Love it!"

For Migraine "I have been on many different types of triptans! Only the treatment of using Zomig 5 mg has completely stopped the migraine and the auras as well! I will still have the horrific pain experience for at least the next 3 days! I feel like I have been having my head beaten by a solid lead pipe for hours! I get severe nausea! I can’t stand the smell of anything, and I get very high anxiety over these many years of having migraines! As I had a total hysterectomy in my 30s, my migraines have actually gotten worse, and now all weather conditions can and do bring on sudden migraines! And very bright indoor lights, as well as sun-reflective sunlight off of passing cars! So I must stay close to my home when I am driving around by myself!"

For Migraine "I find this medicine (Sandoz Zolmitriptan 2.5 mg ODT) to help a lot with the stopping of coming migraines. The only thing I have trouble with is the fact that I can't tell whether or not it's going to be a migraine. I take it anyway. Causes some drowsiness."

For Migraine "Usually works well, but this time, I'm on my 7th day of a migraine. I've had migraines since I was 13. Now 43. My biggest problem is I have fibromyalgia all day when I have to take it, especially more than one time in a 24-hour period. I can hardly move. My body is sensitive to everything: water, pressure, touch, even pressure from laying in bed or sitting in a chair. It is excruciating. I go from a constant daily pain level of an 8 to a 10. It usually lasts about 3 days after I stop taking it. But, Zomig, Relpax, Imitrex, Midrin-all of them do it. I think it is all triptan meds. I can't get rid of this for nothing and am violently vomiting, and my body hurts so, so bad that I don't know what to do."

For Migraine "On a positive note, this does stop the migraine headache within an hour (I took a 2.5 mg tablet as it wasn’t a mega migraine). However, the side effects weren’t great. I took this tablet at school because I had a migraine come on and laid down for about an hour in a dark room. Do not expect to be able to go back to school/work once you’ve taken one of these. I stood up to leave and go back to class and almost fell over with dizziness, not to mention nausea and needing to urinate 3 times within 30 mins. Nonetheless, I walked down a corridor to tell the nurse I was going back to class and everything was loud, and I couldn’t think straight, as well as muscle stiffness. The nurse started speaking to me, but I just couldn’t really understand her. Another 30 mins and the confusion + sensitivity to sound does decrease, but it’s now the next day and I still have nausea and a stiff neck. I suppose you just have to decide whether the migraine or the side effects are worse."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "It only works about half of the time. I’m also very reluctant to use it and often delay using it longer than I should, and it would probably be more effective if I used it earlier. I’m a chronic and cluster migraine sufferer and can’t afford the cost of $400/month. I think the cost is extremely unacceptable, and the government should be negotiating prices for medications. I’m on disability, having both parts A and B of Medicare. In addition, we pay out of pocket for the most expensive supplemental medical and pharmacy insurance."

For Migraine "I have had severe migraines for years and have taken many medications for this, and nothing worked. Then one day my neurologist gave me zolmitriptan 0.05 mg. I take it at the onset of my migraine. I tell you I am a 66-year-young lady, and I call this my miracle med. It works within 20 minutes every time. What a lifesaver for me. I wanted to die with the suffering before, and now what a blessing in disguise. I am no longer in pain or fear as long as I have my zolmitriptan. I wanted to state my only side effects were a sensitive sensation to hot water and a little tightness in my throat, but that was all. Thank you for giving back my life with the help of zolmitriptan."

For Migraine "I have suffered from chronic migraine since I was about 6 years old. I am now 20 and have been using zolmitriptan for a little over 2 years. This prescription has changed my life for the better! My migraines controlled my life, I could never make plans to do anything because I wasn't sure if I was going to get a migraine attack or not, and with my luck, 8 times out of 10, I did. The first time I took zolmitriptan, I was going on my 2nd day of a horrible migraine. As soon as I swallowed the dissolving pill, my migraine was gone! I find that I get better results in relieving a migraine if I take the pill right when I feel one coming. Some side effects for me are fatigue, frequent urination, hunger, and nausea, but well worth the side effects in my opinion."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "This pill is a miracle. Yes, I suffer every side effect everyone else listed, and it's worth it. This pill works for me in 20 minutes, and it works every time. I can, 6 hours into the migraine, and poof, it's gone. As with most: taste sensitive, sore muscles, still muscles, mild dizziness. It messes with my sleep schedule, and I notice a huge increase in heart rate at the gym the next day. All that might seem like it's debilitating, but I am telling you it's so much better than the alternative, and other medications fail me entirely. Please try this medication if others are failing you because this stuff is livable."

For Migraine "Fantastic. I used to suffer with nasty migraines that would leave me in bed, in too much pain to even cry. I use Zomig Rapi-Melt 2.5 mg. It takes between 20-40 minutes to work, at any stage of the attack, and clears all symptoms."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "Out of all the meds I have tried for my cluster headaches, the Zomig nasal spray is the one I can count on if taken at the onset. My biggest trigger is alcohol, and I will do a spray with my first drink, and I avoid the 45 minutes of ice pick behind the eye agony. Unfortunately, it only works about half the time with the random headaches I wake up with during the night."

For Migraine "Within 30 minutes of taking my first dose of zolmitriptan, I felt like someone had 'head-butted' me in my face. I suffered with a severe headache in my face and in the back of my neck for the next hour and a half. The only relief was to add pressure to my sinuses and lay down so I could close my eyes. I will never take this drug again. There goes $158.00 down the drain!"

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I have suffered for years with severe migraines and spent many days missing work and in a dark room laying in pain. Finally, my doctor prescribed Zomig-ZMT rapid melt. It changed my life. I take one under the tongue, and in a half hour, it is gone. The only two side effects I have had are feeling like I could take a nap if I’m inactive, and feeling pain-free and great for 24 hours. I am a senior, and I told my doctor I feel 25 for 24 hrs when I take them."

For Migraine "I was prescribed this for the stress migraines I often endure from my line of work. Unfortunately, although it took away my headache, the side effects were so bad I felt like I was having an allergic reaction. My entire face felt like it was on fire, especially my nose, kind of like when you accidentally breathe underwater in a chlorine pool and it makes your nose burn. It also just gave me a general feeling of being unwell. I had to lay down for an hour, and every time I'd try to get up for any reason, I'd have to lay back down. I felt SO nauseous I couldn't move. If you are taking this for migraines with nausea, DON'T take this one. It will make you more queasy. I had to take an anti-nausea drug (Zofran) to get any sleep. I heavily debated going to urgent care or the ER after taking this drug. Would not recommend to anybody."

For Migraine "This medication has pretty much saved my sanity. Got diagnosed with migraine 2 years ago after having one so bad the doctor thought I was having a stroke. Started off getting migraines at 4 or 5 a month but am now up to 9 in a 13-day period, so am being investigated for triggers, etc., but zolmitriptan has been amazing every time. Guess I'm the lucky one not getting side effects per se, but I already suffer from CFS/ME, so wouldn't notice extra fatigue anyway. I get this on a UK prescription at 12 tablets each time, so maybe £UK18.00 per month."

For Migraine "Zomig gave me my life back! It's the only medicine that has worked for my migraines, and 99% of the time gets rid of them. I still occasionally have an all-day throwing-up migraine, but normally that's if I've woken up with a bad one. The only side effects I've noticed are, in the last couple of years, I tend to get a cold sore a couple of days after taking the tablets. I asked the doctor, but he'd never heard of that before, so I put it down to general low resistance. The only problem is I tend to put off taking the tablets because I don't want the cold sores, but general analgesics really have no effect and tend to cause stomach upsets."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I have used the brand name Zomig for years, with excellent results. I started with the pill and then moved on to the nasal 5 mg. I take it at the onset, and initially it worked in less than 10 minutes. Because of years of use, it takes longer, but it clears my nausea, vision aura, and brain fog, as well as the migraine headaches. I have tried many different rescue medications, including Ubeverly. They don’t work as well for me."

For Migraine "It works but has strange side effects. For me, it takes about 10-15 minutes to start working and then slowly makes me a bit lightheaded. Seems to induce some eczema on my face after too. A bit stronger case than any other triptan. It does sort of put a stop to the migraine but doesn't eliminate it. After 2-3 hours, I get this momentary forehead pain (5-10 seconds) like I've been hit by a train. Then it passes. Personally, I recommend sumatriptan. It's a bit weaker but works more effectively with fewer side effects."

For Migraine "I have chronic migraine. Zomig 2.5 mg nasal spray was, for at least 5 years, my go-to medication and, in most cases, would get rid of the migraine within about 20 minutes. About a year ago, things changed for some reason. Zomig would make me feel shaky, nauseous, and overall sick for hours (though the head pain resolved 90% of the time). This shakiness and nausea have become so bad with Zomig that I've unfortunately had to stop. I now take Frova, which is half as effective, but has no side effects. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience."
