Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I have been getting migraines for as long as I can remember. I finally went to the neurologist and have been taking Zomig for 2 years now, it is life-changing. It takes about an hour to kick in, and it really saves me when I am at work or special events. I finally feel like a migraine won’t hold me back from doing anything anymore with this medicine. I do have slight side effects like drowsiness and tingling in my skin when I am taking a shower or bath. Others have mentioned “stroke”-like symptoms, but this is very minimal and wears off as soon as the hour has passed and the drug kicks in. The side effects are far less worse than the migraine pain itself, so overall I would highly recommend at least trying it out if you suffer from migraines."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "This medication makes my migraine feel worse. For the first hour after I took it, my sinuses were on fire, and then I laid down to go to sleep, feeling like my heart was pounding, and I could actually hear my blood pumping. The headache intensified, and I thought I made it worse, which I didn't think was possible. I just woke up (after waking up four times throughout the night), and I feel so groggy and shaky that I am worried about driving to work. Won't be taking this again."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "This has been a life changer. I get 2-3 bad migraines a month that last usually over a day or two, and it would make me completely nonfunctional. The great thing is that this medicine works fast and completely takes away the splitting pain. The side effects the first two times were sleepiness and a pretty sore throat and face, but since then they've been extremely mild and almost unnoticeable. Please try it, it's worth it."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I've used Zomig for around 4 years now. If taken as soon as I recognize an attack, I know that about 90 minutes later, the pain in my head will go, longer if it's into the attack. I have always experienced drowsiness and hypersensitivity all over my skin. If I were to have a shower within 5 hours of taking Zomig, my whole body feels like it's stinging. Hot drinks feel like they are burning my throat, and hand washing with hot or warm water is a no-no. Also, if I eat within 5 hours, it will feel like my taste buds have exploded, excruciating but brief pain. I also still get all the other migraine symptoms: stomach upset, fatigue, very irritable, even with the Zomig, but I guess I can function with those things. It's the head pain and sickness that's worst."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I've had migraines for about 10 years. They run in the family, unfortunately. I've tried a lot of other stuff, and also Imitrex. Nothing helped at all with my bad headaches until I was given Zomig by my doctor. I've tried both the ZMT and the regular swallow tablets. To me, they are the miracle pill. Just this morning, I had a severe migraine, one of the worst in a while. I was ready to go to the ER, it hurt so bad. I took a Zomig, and about 20 minutes later, I could feel the effects. I took a nap and woke up without the migraine and was able to come to work today. I still get drowsy during the day, but it beats having the migraine ruin my life."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I would be lost without this Zomig medication. It always works, takes about an hour to reach full effect and lasts for the whole day. Minor side effects are slight drowsiness, increase in urination, increased sensation around mouth, throat, and fingers. Have been using 1 to 3 times a week for about 12 years."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "Not a fan of this medication at all. First, it made me nauseous because the taste was so awful dissolving in your mouth. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Then, it would make me overwhelmingly drowsy. I dreaded taking it. I thought I could get used to taking the medicine like I usually do, as I'm not a wimp about these things, but couldn't. It didn't work on some of the migraines. Still trying to find what best works for me."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "I have had migraines since childhood. This has been the only medicine that has truly helped. I have to take it early in the headache or it’s not as effective. If I take it during the night, I am groggy all day, but if I’m already up and doing stuff, I don’t get tired and feel better in about a half hour. I do have some sensitivity when I eat something, kind of like I am eating something very sour. This medicine has truly changed my life. I have lost jobs and missed so many holidays and family events over the years. I wish I would’ve been prescribed this a long time ago."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "Zomig ZMT works well for me, especially when I take it just as I get the feeling I will get a migraine. All migraine symptoms are gone within 30-45 minutes. My side effects are: *drowsiness (but not so much that I can't function, I just yawn a lot), some neck stiffness, taste sensitivity (the first several bites of food after letting the tablet dissolve cause my taste buds to feel really funny... sort of a sharp feeling, if that makes any sense at all). BUT, those symptoms are a lot better than having a migraine!"

For Migraine "Zolmitriptan consistently works for me in stopping a migraine in its tracks, and most of the time, they don't recur, which is fantastic. As with all triptans, it can have some strange and what feel like scary side effects (chest pressure/tightness, muscle cramps and stiffness, dizziness, drowsiness, weird bodily sensations, euphoria, dysphoria, feelings of hot and cold skin), but they are usually transient and short-lived. I've also tried rizatriptan and sumatriptan. The effectiveness is about the same, but for me, zolmitriptan has the fewest of these side effects compared to those. Small price to pay for migraine relief I can count on every time. A low dose of 1.25mg or 2.5mg works for me. I also take an antidepressant (Viibryd) and have not experienced any problems or serious interactions."

For Migraine "I find this medication works wonders. Only downside is hypersensitivity to lukewarm water. Feels like I'm standing under boiling water, but I find within 30 to 60 minutes my migraines are gone, with some drowsiness."

For Migraine "I find this medicine (Sandoz Zolmitriptan 2.5 mg ODT) to help a lot with the stopping of coming migraines. The only thing I have trouble with is the fact that I can't tell whether or not it's going to be a migraine. I take it anyway. Causes some drowsiness."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "The pain completely subsided after about an hour and a half, but I'm not sure the side effects were worth it... dizziness, drowsiness, unable to speak, numbness. Unsure if I would take again."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "Zomig has been the most helpful triptan in aborting a migraine. The only negative side effects are frequent urination after taking the drug and extreme drowsiness."

Zolmitriptan for Migraine "When I would get migraines, I would be nauseous, throw up, in bed 24 hours, and then suffer the next day from aches and not eating the whole day before. Only a fellow migraine sufferer knows. Also, since the digestive system doesn't work well when you have a migraine, NOTHING oral worked for me. Zomig helps so much with the pain, the only side effect I have is sleepiness and, of course, the burning in the back of your throat, but nothing compared to migraine pain. It is worth trying, the only thing is since I started taking it, I have been getting more migraines and headaches, but they were less severe and they end earlier, like I can be out of bed by the late afternoon, which had never previously happened. So read up, be careful, and have someone care for you when you first take it so you can be safe. God be with you."
