Ziprasidone for Schizophrenia "Geodon definitely works for an antipsychotic, but if you don't eat with it, it will make you a zombie, and you won't get up for hours. When you eat with it, it's a whole different story. Anyway, it also makes me so anxious, more than I have even been in my life. It messes with my head so bad. For that reason, I hate it with a passion and never want to take it again."

For Bipolar Disorder "I have been taking Geodon for about two years for my borderline personality disorder. I am now starting to develop side effects. I take a lower dose, and it seems strong enough. If I take more than my body can handle, it makes my symptoms worse. I think I am developing diabetes because of the Geodon, and my doctor doesn't listen to me when I voice my concerns. When the Geodon wears off in the evening, I get anxiety. The anxiety is there until I take the Geodon. I used to take Haldol in a small dose once a day and had way fewer side effects."

Ziprasidone "Geodon has been working but not without its side effects. I have been on it for over 2 weeks now and having issues. Get very tired during the day but up at night. Have the shakes, my eyes blink a lot. My anxiety is up, and I cannot take my Xanax, even 0.25 mg makes me very sleepy. It does help stabilize mood, but I also do not have a thyroid, so my system is very sensitive to side effects."

Ziprasidone for Bipolar Disorder "Ah, Geodon. I was hopeful that this would be the one! I've read great reviews myself. I liked that it is weight neutral. After about a week on it, though, the world started to seem big and scary. I noticed I had more anxiety and anger. Fast forward a few more days, and the anger turned into full-on rage. I actually was so worked up and ticked at my psychiatrist that I hurriedly got in my car, drove like a bat out of hell to his office, and left a very mean note that he's a horrible doctor. I'm glad I didn't see him because I wanted to punch him. I would have ended up in jail, because this is not like me. I couldn't deal with the aggressive feelings and wanted off ASAP."

"I've been on ziprasidone for 4 years now for borderline personality disorder, and at first, I thought it was wonderful. Late last year, I developed an involuntary clenching of my jaw and teeth grinding, it's absolutely horrible, my whole face contorts. About 2 months ago, my psychiatrist said to stop taking it. I went downhill very fast, I suffered anxiety like I've never had before, and suffered a psychotic episode and became acutely unwell. I also fell asleep while driving, causing havoc. I was unable to get into my psychiatrist for two weeks and started taking Zeldox again. When I did see my psychiatrist once again, he said to stop the Zeldox as it was getting dangerous. That was 2 weeks ago, and I'm going through such a bad time trying to kick this drug. I was on 40 mg morning, 40 mg night, I have managed to get down to one a day. I'm very depressed, my thoughts are bad, I can't sleep at times, other times I cannot stay awake. My children had to move in with their dad. I've been unable to work and now in financial hardship."

Ziprasidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG: REALLY BAD INSOMNIA. This medicine helped with my symptoms, but it wasn't worth it. It made me feel like a zombie, it made me feel like, it rubbish got rid of my appetite and I lost 70 lbs in about 6 months, it took away all creativity and motivation I had. It made me severely depressed and anxious for a while, made me restless where I couldn't get comfortable, and worst of all was the chronic insomnia. That started with me waking up after three hours of sleep sometimes and not being able to fall back asleep, then turned into me laying awake for hours without even getting close to sleep. I started taking sleeping pills to sleep, and sometimes they wouldn't even work. And even when they did, they made you feel horrible the next day. I never felt sleepy. I know if I wouldn't have taken those sleep aids, I probably would never have slept. Stay away from this drug if you value sleeping."

For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "This drug is a life ruiner. Within a few days of medication, it gave me a bad reaction with: blurred vision, headache, gastrointestinal issues, tremors, restless legs, nausea, and of course, OCD. I've never had obsessive-compulsive disorder since I was a kid, but after this drug, YES. I've tried several therapies, but none of them had success. After years, I still haven't found a cure, and I still suffer from OCD, with an inability to do everything. If I see a TV show, a game, Facebook, the Internet, YouTube, reading a book, or an article, everything triggers obsessions and consequently compulsions. I live with constant anxiety and fears, and the blame came all from this 'medicine.' I want my life back, my tranquility back. Stay away from this drug if you want to live and safely."

"I was prescribed this for delusional disorder. I'm a very active and social person, and ziprasidone made me a zombie in three months. I normally love life and wake up every morning at 6 a.m. to do my daily workout. Ziprasidone made me first very anxious, and then I lost interest in anything in my life. I didn't want to work, socialize, or do any sports. All I wanted to do was sleep. Ziprasidone also messed up my sleep rhythm since I couldn't fall asleep before 1-2 a.m. and was very tired when trying to wake up at 6 a.m. Even when I slept longer, I was just overall very tired and lethargic, having absolutely no interest in doing anything at all, which is not normal for me. I changed to this medication since other antipsychotics have made me gain weight. I can see why ziprasidone doesn't do that since I felt sick even when thinking of food. I normally love cooking, but I didn't feel like eating at all. Clearly not a suitable medication for me. I almost lost my job because I had no motivation at all, and I just couldn't concentrate."

For Bipolar Disorder "Ziprasidone made me gain 40 pounds, so I discontinued the medicine, only lost 5 pounds. This medicine made me feel bad and like I was wired. These things make you sick, do not take them. They will cause symptoms they are supposed to treat."

For Bipolar Disorder "This medication made me a fat mess. My doctor prescribed it, saying that it does not cause weight gain. I took it along with a low dose of pregabalin, and my stomach got huge due to the pregabalin as well as this drug. It made me constipated, and even after stopping pregabalin, I couldn't lose weight. I had to stop ziprasidone and switched back to Rexulti. This medication also made me super anxious. I couldn't stop shaking when I would wake up in the mornings, and even after stopping it, I still feel a sense of panic and dread when I wake up, but it's going away. Thank God for Rexulti."
