Vortioxetine for Depression "This is an evil little pill! The first time I took it, I became very irritable. The second day, I was so angry that I screamed at my children for the smallest things. The third day, I started to itch all over and got a headache. The fourth day, I was so volatile that I screamed at anyone who dared look at me. I called my doctor, who told me to push through. The anger became so bad that I thought I was going to hurt someone. I've never reacted like that to any medication, and quite frankly, it scared me and my family. As soon as I went off of it, didn't even wean myself off, my mood started to even out some."

Vortioxetine for Depression "Tried to take months earlier but stopped due to nausea and diarrhea. Gave it another try today... bad idea. Very sick within 1 hour of taking. Horrific headache followed by vomiting everything in my stomach."

Vortioxetine for Depression "18, female. Been taking this on and off for 8 months now. I cannot take it every day even if I am prescribed to do so since the side effects are really taking a toll on my ability to function in everyday life. It made my depression worse. I can barely get out of bed due to fatigue from nausea and vomiting. And every time I take this, it is like the headache will stay with you 24/7 that it really becomes intolerable and frustrating. My doctor won't let me switch to another medication, and she's really pushing this for me, and it is so cruel since I feel so weak and I don't want to continue anymore. Taking it makes me want to die."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "Two months on Trintellix. Amazing results. I had some stomach pain and headache in the first week. But with time, it all went away. Now, I am enjoying relief from major depression. It is great. I had depression to the point I could not walk anymore, and I gained over 40 pounds in one year. It is time to get in shape again. I am 100% happy and got my life back. Thanks, Trintellix!!!"

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "My doctor called and told me that she wanted to put me on this even though I was doing fine on Wellbutrin 150 mg. I had asked to be bumped up to 300 mg, and she decided that this was the best medicine for me. Pros: I am not foggy. Depression has been better. Cons: fatigue, like I can't keep my eyes open. My eyes are blurry. Severe nausea. Headache. Don't really want to have sex. Just don't care about anything. Shorter temper with kids. So this is just not worth it. Not at all. I want my life back."

Vortioxetine for Depression "I almost never experience major side effects from any medications, and I have been off and on many antidepressants over the past 14 years. I was taking Zoloft for a couple of months, which was helping with my depressive symptoms, but I thought it might've been giving me sexual side effects, but I wasn't sure, so my doctor suggested trying Trintellix. He said it has a lower incidence of sexual side effects. Well, not only did Trintellix give me horrible sexual dysfunction and even lower libido, every time I took this drug for two weeks, I literally felt like I was coming down with the flu about 15 minutes later. Headaches, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, feverish. I really do think this stuff is poisonous and needs to be pulled from the market."

Vortioxetine for Depression "Was on Wellbutrin for about 8 weeks. First couple of days, no fogginess, extra energy. But that was short-lived. Felt terrible, angry, and more anxiety. My doctor prescribed Trintellix 10 mg. I have been on it for almost three weeks. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I don't have the nausea like most people have had, however, I feel bloated and have gained weight. Some headaches, not too intolerable. The worst is in the evening. My skin feels dry, itchy, and blotchy. Feelings of insecurity and need to take more of my anxiety medication. I don't know if I am going to continue taking. Wondering how long it should be taken before deciding it is not right for me."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I have never written a review for a medication before but felt I should share my experience with this one in case it could help someone else. I switched from Zoloft to Trintellix about 9 months ago only because of gaining weight with Zoloft. (Zoloft worked very well for depression and anxiety, but I decided to switch to Trintellix per my doctor’s suggestion.) I have taken several different SSRIs before, and I will tell you this is by far the worst medication I have ever tried! It did not work for my depression at all. Unfortunately, I stuck with it and even increased the dosage to the maximum 20 mg, still no improvement. If anything, it made me more anxious along with the depression. The side effects of this drug were horrible! The worst ones were severe nausea that never went away, insomnia, and headaches. This medicine basically made me feel much worse than if I were taking nothing for depression. Sadly, I wasted 9 months of my life on this awful medication. On to Lexapro!"

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I started on the 1st of June. Doc told me to try and come back. Well, you know day 1 that you took it but wasn't sure what it was doing. But 2 weeks have passed, I feel great. Up and about. No headache or no throw up. I know it works good for me, no dreams. Take it 10 minutes when I go to bed. It has really helped me. I was so depressed, anxious, and mad at things, I seem now can't get upset. I'm happy."

Vortioxetine for Depression "On 10 mg, I experience a noticeable effect after 5 weeks. At the beginning, I didn't have worse anxiety, just nausea, headache, and vivid dreams. Was activating for the first 3 weeks, and my cognitive improved so fast. Effects on anxiety started at week 4."

Vortioxetine for Depression "I've taken this almost a month now, and my mood has changed for the better significantly! Insurance covered, but since it's pretty new, my copay was $75/month. I did find a website that had a voucher from that made it cheaper. Side effects for myself: nausea/headache first week, redness in face, sore throat, excessive thirst the entire time. I'm constantly thirsty. I'm debating whether my mood is worth it, but I figure I could always use more water anyway, lol. I've noticed within the last few days my poop is green, unsure what that's about, but definitely a side effect. Gonna at least give it another month and go from there."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "Brintellix has reduced my depression to the lowest levels I've ever had with one medication. I have had medication-resistant major depression with suicidal thoughts and occasional auditory hallucinations, severe insomnia, and attention problems for 30 years. I have had to take 3 meds to control it in the past. This med is making me feel incredibly 'normal.' However, I am having headaches and some nausea at 25 mg (always need high doses), but the headaches are improving - I think they will pass like most side effects do if I stick with it and practice patience. I feel too good to give up easily."

For Depression "I've been on this for 2 weeks and don't think I can ride out the side effects any longer. Bad nausea and headaches. I've been on many other antidepressants and rarely get any side effects. I react well to most Rx's, but this is the first time I've had such negative side effects. The nausea lasts all day. I've been pregnant twice and been on chemo, and this nausea is much worse!"

Vortioxetine for Depression "Been on this medication a week on 5 mg. Side effects at first were headache and a bit of nausea, even with food, but each day gets better. I was prescribed this for anxiety, and it seems to be working. I can hold a conversation without feeling anxious!"

Vortioxetine for Depression "Have had ongoing anxiety for nearly 5 years now, and due to that, I have also become depressed. Symptoms range from vision problems to feeling hopeless/lost, to nervousness. My doctor put me on Cymbalta for 2 years, which helped but caused my cholesterol to raise to a concerning level and constant headaches. We then tried Effexor, which helped but not enough, was on it for 8 months. Then he suggested Trintellix, my experience with it was not good, but others have said it helped them immensely. My personal experience was that my depression got severely worse. Normally, I can cope just being at home alone, my other half is a truck driver, and my children are now all in school, so I normally like to build things in my garage, but I haven't been out there in weeks. It's all I could do to get household chores done. And I would find myself bawling my eyes out while doing them for no reason. My other half saw this today after coming home and called the doctor. He is taking me off of this medication."

Vortioxetine for Depression "After upping the dosage to 20 mg, my vision started messing up. We lowered it and are titrating off of it now. My vision is still messed up. I can no longer see through my glasses very well. I'm seeing a specialist next week. My head throbs as well and nausea. My vision better return, or someone will be in trouble."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "1. No serious side effects, such as headache or constipation; this is the only antidepressant on the market that I have ever been able to tolerate. 2. Serious vivid dreaming and sometimes nightmares. 3. Daytime sleepiness. Advise taking at night. 4. Extremely expensive. 5. Taking the 5 mg. 6. Stabilizes my emotions, OCD, negative thinking."

Vortioxetine for Depression "I have never bothered to write a review. I've been on 10 mg of Trintellix for about 4 months, and I have never had any side effects, and I feel much better! I have tried so many antidepressants in the past and couldn't tolerate the side effects. I feel the same as normal but just happier. I am going through some really awful things in my life and will try increasing to 20 mg to see if it helps even more. But, for those like me who are sensitive to drugs, this one works for me. I'm a petite woman in my late 40s. I get headaches, feel nervous or weird, and sick to my stomach on most drugs. This has caused no problems, and I don't feel numb either. I took Prozac years ago for a year to get rid of panic attacks, and it helped with that, but I felt numb."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I was on 5 mg of this for 3 months and was told I may experience nausea in the beginning, but it would subdue after a few weeks. But every night I take it, I’m so disgustingly queasy, and I get bad headaches, and it’s hard to function or do anything or be around people because of this. It’s made me randomly throw up. It helped with my depression somewhat, but not anxiety as much. The effects aren’t as overpowering or heavy-duty as you see in some other medications like Prozac. This can be good depending on what you're looking for, but the side effects did not suit my body. It’s also very expensive."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I've suffered from moderately severe episodes of depression and chronic anxiety for years. I have tried everything from Prozac to Cymbalta to Paxil to Remeron to Abilify. Side effects ranged from bad to intolerable: headaches, weight gain, cognitive dulling. I almost gave up hope that anything would help. This medication has provided a lot of relief. My depression seemingly vanished. My anxiety is still there but seems a little better. Everyone's body reacts differently, but if you feel like you've tried every other SSRI, starting a low dose of this might really help. It could be the placebo effect for all I know, but somehow I don't think so because of the lack of success with past meds. I'm on 5 mg only. (I take it with low dose benzos)."

Vortioxetine "I’ve been on Trintellix, prescribed for PMDD, for just a little over a week now, and I’ve had some of the worst side effects from this than any med I’ve ever taken: 1. Constant itchiness, especially on my feet at night. 2. Fatigue, insomnia. 3. Bloated, gassy. 4. Always thirsty and hungry, but rarely being able to go to the restroom. 5. Mood swings and severe agitation. 6. Vision gets blurry, and sometimes I start seeing black spots. 7. Nightmares. 8. My muscles are so stiff/sore it’s hard to bend my back, turn my neck, or even use my arms because my shoulders are in so much pain. 9. Shortness of breath with physical activity I’m used to. 10. Paranoia and a vivid filter on my vision. 11. Headaches. 12. Body tremors. 13. Hair loss. Needless to say, I’m calling my psychiatrist first thing in the morning. The side effects have been so horrible, and I cannot take them much longer. I’m glad it’s helping other people, unfortunately, I’m in the percent that it doesn’t."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I've been on Brintellix for 10 weeks and notice an appreciable benefit in my mood, but the side effect is serious weight gain (approx. 12 lbs in that time) and serious nausea & headache about 30 minutes after taking my 20 mg tab, no matter when I take it during the day or with how much food. (Noticed best with my biggest meal.) While my mood is definitely better (no more suicidal thinking or attempts), I still don't feel like my old self. Kind of a medium with no real highs or lows. I can smile, laugh, and cry, but just don't feel like me. Obviously, this is so much better than being suicidal, but I'd really like to find a better fix, especially because of the weight gain. Other minor side effects are mild & occasional all-over body itchiness."

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I'm sure there are people out there who will benefit from this drug. I'm just not one of them. I noticed a headache after just one day of being on Trintellix. The headaches became persistently worse and were soon accompanied by nausea. Now, I truly believe my doctor made a mistake prescribing this to me because I made him well aware of the fact that I was taking anticonvulsants. Nevertheless, I had several terrible seizures. After just one call to the hospital and a visit to my neurologist, I was told to stop taking it altogether. Let this be a lesson: refuse this medication if you have epilepsy or a history of seizures. I'm appalled a psychiatrist would even give this drug to an epileptic!"

Vortioxetine for Major Depressive Disorder "I started on 10 mg of Brintellix about two weeks ago after being taken off of Wellbutrin and Celexa. Right away, I started to feel physically ill. Horrible headaches, sour stomach, extremely agitated and tired. I don't know if it's withdrawals from the other medicine or effects from starting the Brintellix. I am leaning towards the latter, though. I just took my medicine, and only an hour later, I am feeling very ill again."

Vortioxetine for Depression "I've been on this med for a while now. The first month was really hard, I didn't see any changes. In fact, I felt as bad or worse than before. But by the second month, I started to feel better. For me, I've noticed that if I take it during the day, I have a headache, feel fatigued, and nauseous, and sometimes hot too. So I make sure to take it at night before bed. There are two things I don't care for about this med, though: the cost and the weight gain!"
