For Type 2 Diabetes "This has been a miracle drug for me. I am a type 2 diabetic for over 20 years. I have diabetic neuropathy, so I struggle being on my feet. I was taking 100 units of insulin a day. I am 65, 5'11" and 219 lbs when I started taking Mounjaro. I started at 2.5 mg, I had zero side effects and no desire to eat. I went up to 5 mg, and I was severely nauseous for 3 days. The side effects went away and never came back. I am on 12.5 mg. I have been on Mounjaro for 5 months. I am 180 lbs, my A1C is 5.8. It has never been below 7 in 25 years. My cholesterol is perfect: 70 good, 70 bad. I take about 5 to 10 units of insulin daily. You cannot eat fatty foods, it makes you only reach for healthy foods. A couple of bites, and you’re full. I put zero effort to lose weight. I lost 39 lbs without trying. It was never about losing weight for me, it was being healthy. I now have normal blood pressure. This drug is a miracle for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Rx for weight loss, extreme fatigue for the first 3 days after injection (I stayed in bed). I thought it was good for controlling binge eating. However, I eventually started to get so dizzy after standing up that I had to hold the counters and walls to get around for the first few minutes after standing. I also started to notice a thickness or knot in my throat after the first 2 months. I had to stop taking it because no amount of weight loss is worse than being a cancer patient or bedbound. The weight loss was extremely slow for me too. I went from being on no meds to relying daily on heartburn medicine, Miralax, Tylenol, and ginger chews for nausea. And the price was ridiculous. I would have rather bought some cosmetic surgery. I was on it 5 months: 2.5, then 0.5, finally 7.5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound in August 2024. I initially weighed 255 lbs. I have since lost 110 lbs! I went from a size 20 to a 10! It is still very unreal to me. I am now on 15 mg and still feel great. I drink a protein shake in the morning and a small portion for dinner. The only side effect is nausea."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Severe nausea, horrid vomiting and diarrhea after 7.5 mg dose - did okay with 2.5 and 5 mg doses - there should be more warnings with the higher doses as this was severe. Higher doses should be reviewed further for safety reasons."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have only lost 5 pounds in 2 months. It has severely decreased my appetite and occasionally caused nausea and stomach pain. I expected to lose more and more quickly than I have. Could not tolerate the severe nausea from Ozempic, so I switched to Mounjaro."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My experience with Mounjaro has been incredible. I started with 2.5 ml = 4/wk., 5 ml = 4/wk, 7.5 ml 4/wk (nausea with higher doses, no side effects). It's given me my life back. I have lost 15 kilos; I was 85 kilos, high cholesterol. I lost my appetite completely, eating only pears for breakfast, black coffee, steamed green veggies, and chicken. I have no dairy, takeout, or alcohol. Drinking a lot of water is essential, at least 3 liters or more per day. My body took four weeks to show any results; my body measurements changed first. I noticed in the 5th week, after a weekend, I had dropped 6 kg. My face became thinner, and someone said, 'You're shrinking.' I found it easier to drink fluids than eat food; it completely shut off my hunger. I had to make myself eat a savory biscuit. It was expensive! (No concession) Remember, everyone is different. I do have PHI, although they are ending the benefit due to the expense not being sustainable. I am strength training to gain muscle."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Female, 55, 183 lb, 5’6. Started on 2.5 three weeks ago. Was amazed how fast it started to work. Have lost 10 lb in three weeks. Cravings have gone. No longer thinking about food all the time. Junk food and sugar hold no appeal. Sleeping better. Only side effect is slight nausea day after the injection."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 55-year-old female, 5’7 starting weight 250, started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. 1st month, 2.5 — moved up to 5 2nd month. Probably the most annoying, almost immediate side effects were GERD, bloating, and constipation. However, this did improve quickly when I added more fiber, avoided high-fat, saucy foods, and ate less. I do agree with the others… that it definitely helps your “hunger-food brain.” I can skip a meal without even noticing. I fill up eating a quarter to half of what I would normally eat. I begin getting nauseated while I eat, which makes me stop eating, of course. Now that I've increased from 2.5 to 5, the nausea is a little worse, but intermittent and tolerable. Hoping this will improve once my body adjusts. Overall, still very thankful for this opportunity to try Zepbound. I'm trying to find some type of a meal plan to follow, with sufficient protein and fiber, as well as other foods or supplements to prevent muscle loss, hair loss, constipation, and fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for almost 3 months now. I've been at 2.5 the whole time as we are struggling to get any higher doses from back order. I have lost over 20 pounds already. My first shot, my side effects weren't horrible, but I also deal with nausea daily. I also had really bad pain in my upper back, neck, and shoulders like I had whiplash, but that was gone after 48 hours and was nowhere near as bad the 2nd shot. And then nothing after that. This past week though, I've been waking up starving, like I haven't eaten in days. I normally eat dinner around 5:30ish and have a small snack around 8ish, and I haven't had this before. The only other thing I've noticed and just read it could be a side effect is my hands have been super itchy, like I'm having an allergic reaction to something, which I've been thinking that's what's going on. But overall, my side effects have been very minimal, and the benefits majorly outweigh them."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am happy with the results so far. I have lost 29 lbs in 13 weeks. My goal is 75 lb weight loss. My appetite is far less, and my cravings for sugar have much improved. I have had some constipation and 1 or 2 episodes of nausea but did not vomit. You have to drink water! I started on 2.5 mg and was increased to 5 mg. I'm worried to go to a higher dose due to potential increased side effects, as I have a history of kidney issues. However, since I started the medicine, my Hga1c is normal and lipid panel perfect."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My dose at 2.5 mg was tolerable. Minimal side effects. 5 mg more side effects with nausea, sour stomach, gas. 7.5 mg has been a disaster. Heartburn. Headaches, lethargy, tiredness, no appetite, and need to force food on myself. Low blood sugar on CGM Libre2. I can't eat enough to get myself back to 90. I keep pegging 70 because I can't eat and am sick to my stomach all the time. My sleep is interrupted, and I must lie down constantly. I feel like I want to sleep all the time. Weight has dropped from 250 to 233 lbs, but if I can't get out of bed, what's the point? I will talk to my doc about going back to 2.5 mg for the A1C control, but this drug needs work."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Worked great, however, I experienced nausea/dry heaves the 1st and 2nd day after injection and intermittent nausea throughout the week before the next injection. I've lost 20% of my body weight. I believe this medication needs to be taken forever, or all the weight will return."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for 16 weeks. I have lost 23 lb. I am a 6'3" 74-year-old man. I wanted a kick start to get to my goal, which I am at. Except for three weeks at 5 mg, I have been on 2.5 and am now after a brief go at 5 mg. My experience has been generally acceptable, but nausea and fatigue are a real challenge. No vomiting or diarrhea. I have had some acid reflux. The key has been to eat good clean food and stay away from fried or greasy. I have reduced my alcohol intake, but they are empty calories, and why do it? It just makes it tougher. The reason I drink some is usually social, but I have found it easier to abstain than I expected. Here's the deal: I think people lose weight on these drugs because they don't want to get sick and choose to behave and stay at a calorie deficit, and bingo, the math kicks in. It's not rocket science. I have taken a week off while on an overseas trip. Again, I didn't want to get sick. I am about to take another week off."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was recommended weight loss pre-knee surgery and decided to try Mounjaro. I am a 55-year-old female, at least 12 kilos overweight. I have been using it for 3 weeks now (2.5 mg) and have lost 2 kg. There was no nausea, and I manage slight constipation with poached pears and yogurt or a prebiotic. I realized very quickly that I needed to eat smaller amounts more regularly as opposed to my previous habit of waiting until I was really hungry - I didn’t eat badly before, but my food portions were larger, and I regularly consumed alcohol. I tried a sip of champagne after 2 weeks of Mounjaro, and it tasted horrible. The combination of eating less, feeling satisfied, sleeping better, and weight loss has already changed my life for the better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had my three doses in three weeks, 5 mg each dose. I lost around 4-5 kg already. I never felt any nausea as I did with Ozempic or Saxenda. I had Ozempic and Saxenda for more than two years, and I didn't have any weight loss. With Mounjaro, I have already lost weight without any change in diet and activity (I had a good diet and activity before as well when I was taking Ozempic/Saxenda, but I didn’t have any weight loss). I feel very good, so I will continue the treatment."

For Type 2 Diabetes "A little bit of back story for the full benefit of transparency… I am a type 2 diabetic on an insulin pump, taking 2 Synjardy every morning in addition to my once-a-week injection. I was completely insulin resistant. Since starting the Mounjaro in September 2022 on the lowest dose, I have worked my way up to 10 mg. Now, a supply shortage kept me from getting my one-month supply twice in the last 7 months. When starting again, it did give me nausea and headaches, my doctor prescribed Zofran, and I took ibuprofen. When I started, I weighed 330 pounds and am currently down to 289 as of yesterday. The biggest benefit to me is that my pump has had to work less because the Mounjaro keeps my blood sugar steady at about 90. I am hoping as I continue to lose weight, I need less and less insulin, that is the doctor's goal. So while yes, there are side effects initially, they did not hang around for me, and if you can push through them, they do subside. I am 48 years old and have been diabetic since I was 23."

"I initially took Mounjaro for a short while until my insurance refused to cover it. I had typical symptoms of nausea and reflux. I was switched to Ozempic, lost weight, and hit a plateau. Still felt nauseous on occasion. For the past month, I have been back on Mounjaro with no negative side effects. My appetite is less and I have lost a few pounds. I feel nauseous only slightly on occasion. The injection is sharp and hurts but is tolerable. I am grateful for it. My husband has been taking Mounjaro for several months, has been experiencing mild side effects, and continues to lose weight. He pays about $1,000/month out of pocket because insurance doesn't cover it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "When I weighed 212 lbs at 5’1”, I was facing breast reduction surgery, A1c was over 8, I was on Metformin and on multiple antidepressants. My doctor started me on Mounjaro at increasing doses. Now, just about 8 months later, my A1c is 6, I no longer need Metformin and I currently weigh 135 lbs…I’ve lost a whopping 77 lbs! I feel great! The side effects have been… little to no appetite, nausea for two to three days after injection, constipation… all easily managed. Mounjaro has changed my life, and I would do it all over again!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began this treatment in April. It is now mid-September. I have lost 20 pounds. It is very easy to use, which is a big deal for those who have a needle phobia. In the beginning, I had very few side effects. After going to the 7.5 mg dose, I started to experience constipation and nausea. To combat this, I began a small fiber intake routine and requested Zofran from my doctor. Both are very effective for those side effects. I am now on a 12.5 mg dose and doing well. I feel I am close to a maintenance dose. This medication was quite effective. I am a small person, menopausal, and struggled with losing weight. Losing 20 lbs for my size is a very big deal. Through this process, I have learned better eating habits, keeping my portions small to maintain a healthy weight and continuing my exercise routine even if I am not losing weight. All in all, this was a win-win for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "What a game changer this medicine is for weight loss... unfortunately, at $500/month after coupon, it is just cost prohibitive. The first month my insurance did cover, and what I noticed were immediate impacts on appetite, no urge to snack, no anxiety eating, and no hunger pangs. I have about 60 pounds to lose, and lost 5.5 pounds that first month. I did not have any side effects, except once I ate something sweet, I had a little nausea. Lesson: don't eat sweets :) I really wish my insurance would cover this, because I've never experienced anything like it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Happy holidays, everyone. This medication is making it impossible for me to do anything. Dr. prescribed it. Day 1 felt fine. Day 2, near the end of the day, I had no desire for food-nothing. Today is Day 3, and I’ve been nauseous all day, and near the end of the day, I started to get diarrhea. The nausea has been pretty bad, though I did work out (it made it worse, and I had to skip some of it). Also, today, because of nausea, I have not wanted anything to eat. I forced myself to have half of an English muffin with peanut butter, and then this evening, a Campbell's soup to go since I was feeling so sick. I will not be taking the second dose this coming week when it is due because I feel miserable. It has a 5-day half-life, which is why I didn’t want to take it to begin with in case of side effects. It seems a lot of people get these side effects, and what I’ve learned is I always seem to get the side effects of medication. Be cautious. It needs a reversal pronto!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just finished my first month of Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I did experience some side effects on the first day: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but the second day was better. After eating a small meal, I experienced bad sulfur-like burps throughout the day. So I took Pepto Bismol, and that worked like a charm! So before each one of my injections, I take a dose of it the first half hour before with no problems now."
