For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm type 2 diabetic and was on Ozempic for quite some time and having difficulty getting my medication. My doctor changed me to Mounjaro for my diabetes thinking I would be able to get my meds. I started on the 5 mg since I had been on Ozempic. My side effects were typical slight nausea. I was trying to get my second month filled and the issues started with availability AGAIN. The 5 mg and 7.5 mg were on backorder. He increased my dose to 10 mg. I have experienced sulfur burps, but that is about it. I have not seen much weight loss, but then again I'm more concerned about my diabetes. Shame on the drug companies for dangling a medication that works to lower A1C and cholesterol and choosing to utilize it for weight loss where the insurance won't cover it. I'm not using this medication for vanity, it's for my chronic disease."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on month three. My doctor thinks I might be too sensitive to it and may have to stop soon. Extreme nausea, occasional vomiting, and sulfur burps followed by diarrhea, weakness, and lethargy. The pros: in three months, I've gone from 262 lbs to 239 lbs."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started 3 months ago with the 2 ml, then 5, and now 7.5. I have been nauseous every single day for those 3 months. I have been constipated almost every week. I finally am able to go. I noticed that after the injection, I vomit every time the next day. I am 5'7 and weighed 233. I am now 209. The nausea is sometimes unbearable. I feel like not taking this medicine. Everyone's body is different."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Holy side effects. First, if you eat when you take it, it just sits in your stomach and you’ll be burping it for 12 hours. The headache is insane. Starts immediately. Then you are hit with 3 days of nausea, fatigue, and just overall fatigue. Just when you start to feel better, cue the insane heartburn! It took me 5 days to feel normal again. I’ll pass on this even though I lost 5 pounds the first week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Constant nausea no matter what I eat. Muscle weakness and tired all the time. I’m feeling mentally down. Tomorrow will be my 3rd shot, and I’m seriously hoping these side effects go away so I can get type II diabetes under control. Probably losing some weight because I dread the nausea after eating so am not eating as much. The verdict is still out for me on this medicine."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started in October and am now on 10 mg. I have lost 106 lbs. I feel better than I have in years. I’m 69 and will be 70 in August. I do more, I get out more, I’m involved again. I have 60 more to go. I’m not saying it’s been a bed of roses, but the good outweighs the bad days 95%. Also, in the beginning, I would give myself the injection at night and then take something for nausea my doctor prescribed and no longer felt nauseous. Good luck, everyone, to a longer and better life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Began 1 month ago, March 2025, starting with 2.5 mg at 210 lbs, and I am 5'4", size 14. 2nd month, same dosage, 2.5 mg. Now my weight is 183 lbs, size 10. I do have nausea, but it goes away when I drink plenty of water/seltzer. I can eat what I want, but small portions, and I can put the fork down. I take the shot at bedtime. I have only used my arms. It does not hurt. I am happy this is working."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On week 5 of Zep. Goal to lose 20-25 lbs. Received a 2.5 mg 'loading' dose, I split it into 1.25 doses 3 days apart for the first 2 weeks as I tend to react strongly to meds. I had a bit of anxiety and fatigue on this dose and appetite suppression that waned by week 2, so I increased to 2.5 in one shot for weeks 3 and 4. Less anxiety/fatigue but more nausea and constipation, still manageable. I received a 5 mg dose in the mail at week 4 but had already lost 15 lbs on the 2.5 dose for 4 weeks. Week 5 - I tried the 5 mg. The next day, I was so sick to my stomach and nauseous that I struggled to eat or drink at all. I was dizzy and felt terrible, depressed, and kept getting the long bouts of hiccups. I will be at goal soon and plan to switch to metformin to maintain weight. For me, this med is miraculous, but I do not feel great on it. (For reference - I have a mental health diagnosis and pre-existing mild gastrointestinal issues, MTHFR gene variant)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been struggling with my weight since I was 16. I quit smoking, had two children, entered menopause, and my weight became uncontrollable (my blood tests have always been perfect). I found the strength to start dieting a couple of times a year but hit rock bottom in March, 48 years old, 107 kgs. Depressed and unable to start -again- the keto diet (it works very well for me), I asked for help and was put on antidepressants and Mounjaro. A real game changer. I started the diet with no willpower, no bad feelings, no cravings, no need for self-control, just naturally. I got into ketosis easily and quickly. As a side effect, I have slight nausea a couple of days after the injection. No big deal, as it helps with the diet. No more food noise, I am able to think and prepare my meals without rushing, and so far, I have lost 6 kg in 14 days. I plan to continue for as long as I can and then stop and get my weight under control. We'll see."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried Ozempic for 9 weeks and thought I was going to die, so they switched me to Mounjaro. The 1st 2 weeks were okay, I just didn't have an appetite, but week 3 hit me just like Ozempic did. Total exhaustion. I've lost 5 lbs in a little over 3 days. I have side effects of sulfur burps, dehydration, constant nausea, falling asleep at all times, all-night vomiting, and diarrhea. I feel bruised from head to toe and have blurred vision. I'm telling people this for a warning. Read the reviews. People are constantly going to the ER because of these medications. I'm flustered because I found something that worked for my diabetes, but it is really bad for me. Since starting Ozempic up to now, I've lost almost 30 lbs... might sound great, but not when you can't function."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my 2nd post, I am on 7.5 mg of Mounjaro, and I have loved every moment of this journey. I was 243 lbs and lost 49 lbs so far since October 2022. I also eat a healthy diet and exercise. Stay hydrated because my side effects are dry mouth and constipation. I did, however, find out that if you eat carbs, sugar, or fried food, you will get nauseous and possibly throw up. Lesson learned. Stick to protein, vegetables, and fruit. I need to lose 34 more lbs to be at my ideal weight. I am still excited to be on this journey."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Have been injecting Mounjaro weekly for a month now and have lost 4 kg, but here is what I learned… 1. Make sure you're fully hydrated before injecting the recommended dosage of the first 2 weeks, needles being 2.5 ml, as it dehydrates you big time and most of the time is why you are feeling nauseated, but keep hydrated, drink up. Eg. Powerade or Hydralytes… 2. Inject in the top thigh as it is less nausea feelings than injecting in the tummy. 3. Your body automatically tells you that you are full after a small portion of dinner (saucer plate size) as breakfast I craved Vegemite on thin bread, so maybe I was lacking either salt or B12 levels down. Lunch I ate a small amount too, but have snacks 4 times a day, even one sugar lolly made me feel better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "With the initial injection of 2.5 taken before bed. I woke up with painful, swollen neck lymph nodes and extreme fatigue. The next day, the swollen lymph nodes seemed to have moved down, now in the chest/armpit area. On the 3rd day, one of my knees is swollen and horribly painful. I have absolutely never had any knee issues prior to the injection. If I get nauseous, drinking more water helps. At this start of the med, continuing is definitely not worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had a good experience with Zepbound. So far, I have lost 30 lbs in 6 months. This is my take and experience. You will feel sick if you eat improperly. You're not going to lose weight and continue to eat like you have been. Butter, fat, oil, and overeating will make you feel nauseous. These drugs slow down your digestion. I learned that in the first 24 hrs. I was at a barbecue and piled the food on my plate like normal. I felt sick the rest of the day. I learned my lesson. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Since digestion is slower, other functions slow down too! (If you know what I mean). Don't starve yourself, that will make you feel sick too. I have found that avoiding too many carbs and eating high in protein is working for me. I'm hoping my brain is rewired for when I go off Zepbound. I don't plan on being on this forever."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Be careful when deciding to take this medication. I advise you to speak first with your doctor, and if you could find another way to lose weight, you should decide to go with something else. The side effects for some people are almost unbearable. I was 100% healthy before taking this. Now my blood sugar levels are low, I cannot wait for this to leave my system. It’s hard to work out, I feel awful. Ever since I stopped taking it, since my sugar levels are low, I have to eat more sugar, and it’s hard to eat. I feel nauseous, and it’s so hard to start the day feeling like this. Please beware, I know of people that are not even eating while taking this because they lost their appetite, and they have to blend their food because it won’t go down. The side effects at the beginning for many people are really awful. If you have to work and be productive, don’t take this medicine, you will regret it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It's too early to say that Mounjaro has been life-changing, but it is certainly trending that way. My first week was a huge drop in water weight; I lost about 11 pounds. Weeks 2-4 it slowed a bit, and I'm down about another 5 lbs. I'll be starting the 5 mg tomorrow. 16 lbs in my first month is pretty darn good, I'd say. Very little side effects thus far: severe nausea, but it's fleeting; it sticks around for 30-60 seconds then disappears, occurring every two or three days. In terms of how I feel, the changes have been subtle but definitely noticeable. My appetite is absolutely gone for the first 48 hours after injection, then comes back gradually. By the 5th or 6th day, I'm thinking about food again on a regular basis. I do feel that I have more energy, and my willingness to do even small household tasks seems to be higher than it has in a couple of years. Everything just seems like less of a burden. I started at 441 lbs, and am hopeful I can get back to around 300 eventually."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m almost 46. I have been struggling with weight loss all my life, joined food addiction programs, and tried other diets, and nothing worked. I lost some but gained it right back. I started at 220, but in numbers, I was not diabetic, so my insurance wouldn’t cover weight loss medication. My doctor worked with me for months and kept trying until it was finally approved. I did manage to get down to 186 pounds before starting on Zepbound. I have lost an additional 22 lb in 2.5 months! I’m at 164 now, and I haven’t been here in years. I can relate to many of the comments here. I don’t think about food, no cravings. I feel satisfied. I have been doing one meal a day, and I feel great. I don’t feel anxious, deprived, or hungry. I don’t worry about what I’m going to eat next. I don’t catch myself always snacking. It’s changed my brain in a way that I’m at peace. Just started on a 7.5 gm, and I did have some nausea just the very first day, but no other side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started out great. Moved to 5.0 and had AWFUL vomiting on day 3 after injection. Dr. tried to move me back to 2.5 but Rx store was unable to get it. Went 5 weeks before it was restocked. Started 2.5 again with 0 effect. And I mean zero. Moved to 5.0 and the nausea is there, but so far, no vomiting. What concerns me is that I have suddenly been struggling with an elevated pulse and higher than normal BP. Wasn't an issue before, so not sure if it's related or incidental. May stop it because I just don't feel good. In addition over the 5 months of on and off again, I am down 4 pounds...and following a reasonable diet plan. Discouraged."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My endo doctor asked me to try the shot. At first, I said no. But she convinced me that we could get my A1C down. It was just under 9 at that time. I started the shot the 2nd week of October 2024. The first 2 months, it was just feeling nauseous. That was 2.5 mg. Here it is March 2025, I've lost 46 lbs. That to me is great. I had no idea about the weight loss when I started! Latest blood work, A1C is 6.4!! I now don't have to take Januvia or glipizide. Another plus! I am now on 7.5 mg. The only thing I've noticed, well, 2 things: I've developed eczema, bad. Currently waiting for my dermatology appointment. The other problem is depression. At least that is my thought, I've not had any ambition or 'get up and go,' which could be from the increase to 7.5 mg. I'm going to stick with it though. I'll stay at my current dose for a couple of months. I'm very happy with my morning finger pokes, I've been 92 to 103 every morning. Very pleased with the medication!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro for weight loss. I had no side effects on 2.5 mg and 5 mg. Weight loss was consistent at 1 kg per week. On 2.5 mg I still had an appetite and had no trouble eating moderately. On 5 mg I began to experience total loss of appetite. On W1 of 7.5 mg I awoke with extreme nausea, but other than that I was okay. On W2 of 7.5 mg I got very ill. I took the injection on Tuesday. By Wednesday night I vomited once. On Thursday, I started feeling nauseous with an egg-like aftertaste. By evening I was suffering from extreme diarrhea - every 20 to 30 minutes through the night. My stomach sounded full of sloshing water and gas and periodic large burps. On Friday I felt very dehydrated. I stayed in bed, sipped only water and diarrhea subsided. On Saturday I ate breakfast and a small amount of food for lunch. Saturday night diarrhea and vomiting again. It’s now Sunday and I feel weak and will not be taking 7.5 mg again. I will take a rest for a week before decreasing the dose to 5 mg to see how I go."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound about a week ago. Only had 1 injection, but for me personally, as soon as I did the injection, I immediately began to feel nauseated and dizzy for a good couple of hours, but then it subsided. I did have some anxiety about the side effects, and sometimes when I do have anxiety, I will feel nauseous and dizzy as well, so I really can’t tell if that was from the injection or anxiety. Either way, it stopped. Since then, I barely eat. I NEVER feel hungry at all, and when I do, I eat hardly a handful of something before I feel full and stop eating. I don’t know if that’s normal. I’m supposed to get 60 grams of protein a day. I drink 2 of those 30 grams of the Premier protein shakes, not my favorite, but it will do, and that keeps me feeling full for pretty much the ENTIRE day. I don’t snack at all anymore. Again, I’ve only had 1 injection but have noticed some immediate changes."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So, I took one dose, unfortunately, my doctor screwed up and started me at 15mg. I've been in the ED for 36 hours and have had the worst 3 weeks of my life. This is not a review but a caution, check your script thoroughly, make sure you're taking the right dose. I need to purge this dose from my system and then start a 2.5mg dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication has been life-changing. Started with 2.5 mg and now at 5 mg. A bit of constipation and nausea, but nothing major. I started at 288 lbs and now at 236 lbs. I am a male, 5’11”. I hope I can get to my goal of 190 lbs in a few months. Working out, walking, and avoiding carbs is key. No fried foods or heavy carb meals, or you will pay a price. Lots of protein, lean meats, and veggies/berries. Good luck, everyone."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started in January and have moved doses up monthly. This morning I took my 4th 7.5 mg dose. I did have a 2.5 mg pen malfunction and moved up to 5 a week early. I've been losing 1-3 pounds a week, for a total today of 28 lb loss. My goal is to lose 50. As far as side effects, they really aren't too bad for me. Daily Colace helps any constipation, which has not been much of an issue anyway. Occasional nausea is fleeting and is helped with Coke One. I know some are against drinking soda, but Coke One does not have sugar and has been my nausea cure for as long as it's been on the market. My appetite is diminished, but not gone. I've changed my eating pattern to several small, healthy mini-meals during the day instead of 3 'regular' meals. Zero cravings for junk food or much snacking at all. Part, I'm sure, is that I'm keeping those mini meals full of protein and vegetables. The only real issue that I've had is fatigue. It hits about an hour after the shot and lasts about 36 h."
