For Type 2 Diabetes "Initially I did experience increased burping (medicinal taste), flatus, indigestion, could hear and feel an increased gurgling sound/movement in stomach. Constipation followed by loose stools. HgbA1c decreased. Weight loss (80 lbs). Cost too much! - At 10 mg per dose x 4 doses = $350.00 per month cash! Now having hair loss."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking medication for 16 weeks and lost 35 lbs. I have had some problems with stomach issues, but they come and go. I have had some constipation and diarrhea with the increase and the start of taking the medication. Sometimes it can be bad, but for the most part, I feel like the med is working."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "By adding Mounjaro 0.25, along with slight dietary change, my A1C went down dramatically from 9.5 to 6.5 in just 90 days. I also continued with Metformin (1000 mg 2x daily) and glipizide (15 mg 1x daily). The only side effect I experienced was at the beginning of the treatment. On Day 2 after the injection, I experienced severe diarrhea, which lasted roughly 5 days. After this time frame, everything seemed to return to normal. At my next 90-day Dr. appointment, we reduced the glipizide to 10 mg and increased Mounjaro to 5 mg. The same side effect returned for roughly the same time period, then everything was back to normal once again. I also had one of the 0.25 mg pens (out of 12) that failed. The button pushed, but the syringe did not advance nor did it inject the drug. Overall, I am very pleased with my personal results and feel the very unpleasant side effect is outweighed by the benefit received. I also appreciate Lilly for making the savings card easy to apply for."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started with 2.5 mg in January, which went very well. Then up to 5 mg. That was going great for 10 weeks. Then everything went downhill. Had a reaction of severe indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, backache, and overall body just not good. Took anti-nausea medicine, did not get rid of the nausea. Called an ambulance, after discussion, decided to wait since ER would not be able to administer more anti-nausea medication. Stayed in bed (I never do that), after 12 hours of pure hell, finally feeling better. Still feel like my body has been beaten up for 12 hours. It will take a day to fully recover. While the medicine does work, I’ve lost 13 lbs and my blood sugar stayed steady. This experience has me questioning whether it is worth losing a day every week in bed. The late reaction after 10 weeks has me more concerned. I will have to give this some serious consideration in my decision."

Tirzepatide "As a T1 diabetic, with insulin resistance, this has been a miracle for me. My long-acting went from 120u to 64, and my short from 35 to 10-20 with meals. The overall physical relief has been life-changing. That said, I first had diarrhea and nausea. This was mostly day 1-3, and passed after the first couple of months. The gas, bloating, and belching are insane-Gas-X helps. Also, day one I had a metallic taste and bone-chilling cold. After almost 2 years of use, the worst side effect is constipation and gas. The biggest problem is availability. I've spent the last 8 months mostly unable to locate my 15 mg dosage-every single month, literally 6-8 hours on the phone trying to find anything. Driving as far as 100 miles from home. One month having to get 2 boxes of 5, which I had to pay retail for box 2. Several times being unable to locate more than 7.5. Pharmacies refusing to sell it to new patients. It's been an absolute nightmare for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this medication with 10 cc 5 months ago, and now I’m taking 70 cc a week. I’ve lost 15 lbs. I’m not sure if it is controlling my appetite anymore. I still crave carbs, but can control it better. I am having 30 mg of protein 3 times a day to keep me satiated. I’m hoping to lose another 15 lbs in 3 months. I will probably buy one more bottle after this one, but then I’m stopping. I’ve started having diarrhea in the last 3 days. I get nausea if I eat past a point and at times feel very tired."

"I started taking the 2.5 on 9/1 after I had begun IF on August 1. Overall, I have now lost 12 pounds over 7 weeks. My appetite is significantly reduced; my biggest concern is I’m not getting enough calories due to lack of appetite and also a restricted eating window. Since being on the medication, I have experienced constipation, diarrhea, especially on day two and three after the shot each week, general fatigue, and a generally uneasy stomach, and sometimes stomach cramps. Usually, these wear off by day five and are worse on day three and four. It is not clear to me if my weight loss is due to the fasting or the medication or both, but it does seem to be steady at 1 to 2 pounds per week as I am tracking it. I only hope that it continues to lose at this rate and does not plateau! I am ready to move up to 5 mg next week, and I’m a little nervous to experience stronger side effects. So far, I am thrilled to actually be losing weight! SW: 187. GW: 130.5’2” age 54."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Brain fog, nausea, diarrhea, insomnia. Took 2.5 mg for 1 year, had problems with Kroger accepting savings card, so stopped. Really like having my brain back at full power... lost a lot of executive function while on Mounjaro. Have been off for a month. Blood sugar levels increasing, but not enough to put up with side effects. Appetite decreased after stopping (opposite of advertised effect)."

Tirzepatide "Somewhat positive but challenging. Had intermittent bouts of severe diarrhea. It's difficult to find the right diet that works well with the drug. It seems smaller meals and snacks spread throughout the day seem to help maintain fullness and blood sugar levels. Still able to get my daily exercise (walking), lifting light weights, closing rings on Apple Watch. Although my goal is NOT weight loss, I have dropped a noticeable amount and I assume that will continue. The other challenging side effect is low blood sugar. Never had it before. As it can happen before you’re aware, you must try to keep food intake going throughout the day — and carry emergency glucose pills if you’re not home when the low blood sugar hits. If you’re driving, pull over, take a glucose lozenge, and wait 15 minutes— really! Overall, I’m cautiously hopeful. We’ll see in a few more months!"

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost weight in the first few weeks. Some issues with belching and diarrhea for the first several weeks, which declined over time. But then, after approximately 6 weeks, no weight loss was noted. Still eating less, so hoping that the decreased intake of calories would reduce weight. Then had COVID, so had to miss a week, stayed on original dosage, no weight loss. Then, when dosage increased after the 3rd month, symptoms returned: upset stomach and diarrhea. During the same period, slightly elevated temperature, fatigue, headaches. Lost from 240 to 218 in 4 months, so cost was $100 per pound."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "When I first started, I did have diarrhea for the first week, but in subsequent weeks it slowly subsided to the point I did not experience any side effects. I lost 21 lbs over 4 weeks. I have lost some muscle mass for sure, but I am hopeful that when I stop and start resistance training, I will tone up."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first injection three days ago in my stomach. The day after, I spent in and out of bed due to severe nausea and a pit in my stomach, as if I had overeaten. I also experienced diarrhea. I tried drinking a protein shake, electrolytes, ginger chews, famotidine, and Zofran, and even smelled alcohol pads, but it only helped a little. I couldn't eat until 24 hours later, and even then, I only managed to eat a few bites. Day 2 was better, and Day 3 was about the same as Day 2. I can't wait to feel better."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Mounjaro for 3 months. At first, I was taking a low dose that was not working. So now, I take a 7:5 dose and it is working, but recently I am experiencing side effects like nausea, diarrhea, and bad constipation. The injection is working as I have lost weight. I was 296 pounds, and now I am down to 270 pounds. However, I don't know if I should continue the injection because of the side effects. Need help badly."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I used this for the first month at 2.5mg and did fine. Didn't really notice too much change and minimal impact on my sugar numbers. After 1 month, my doctor increased the dosage to 10mg. From that point, day 1 after my shot, I experience complete loss of appetite, chills, gastric pain. Days 2-4, I just had the loss of appetite and gastric pain, soft stools. Day 5 after my shot, loss of appetite, pain & diarrhea. The 6th day, some appetite back, less pain, no BM at all. Day of next injection was good, was able to eat more, no pain, normal BM. Day after 2nd shot at 10mg, is repeating again. I was losing some weight at the lower dosage but the sugar numbers weren't that much improved. On the higher dosage, I'm no longer losing weight but my sugars are more in line and coming down."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Within 24 hours of the first dose of 2.5 mg, I began to experience reflux. On day 2, I developed diarrhea and intense foul-smelling belching, like fish oils belching. Scared what day 3 is going to bring and sad I may not be able to tolerate it."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medicine has made me so sick. I will never take it again. I have not eaten in over five days. I am so weak, I feel like my blood sugar is low. I am not a diabetic, I only wanted to lose a few pounds. I have been sick, nauseous, vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea. Until I got everything out of my belly, my belly felt full, even when I did not eat. Constant belching. My food does not taste good. I am miserable. I’m sure it has great benefits. My other family members took it, as for me, whom is diabetic, extremely curvy, but just wanted to lose excess belly fat. I probably should’ve just gone to the gym, exercised more, or even worn a waist trainer. To me, in my opinion, it’s not worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took my first dose on 5/10/2024, felt fine but did feel loss of appetite. By 5/14, that all changed. Woke up with terrible cramps, diarrhea, chills, and headache. So bad I had to call in to work. Now I don't know if this is what caused it but I was not watching my fat intake, busy with 2 birthdays and Mother's Day. Talked to the provider and they gave me a prescription for nausea. I felt good enough on 5/16 evening to work with one of my horses but today back at work with a gurgling stomach and belching. Can hardly eat because I'm afraid to. My dose was 2.5, provider wants me to wait a week or so and lower my dosage. I am truly afraid to take it, due to the effects I am having now. I had high hopes it would help me lose 30 lbs but not so sure anymore. Effective but not much fun to feel this terrible. Maybe just need my body to get used to it. Don't know, I may have triggered this by poor eating after the injection."
