Tirzepatide "I started at the 2.5 mg dose for weight loss. I felt little to no appetite for the day. Then that night, I was throwing up and having severe diarrhea, like it was the worst stomach flu I’d ever had. I decided I’d not take it again. It would’ve helped me lose weight, just not the way I’d want."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve lost about 10 pounds in probably 6 to 8 weeks. I feel okay on this drug. I have experienced some tiredness and fatigue, and some diarrhea as well, but nothing too bad. There was only one week where it was bad enough that I might rethink using it. Now it’s mild and lasts for about 2 days post-shot. Some blurry vision as well. I most likely won’t stay on this drug for the long haul."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Mounjaro almost 5 weeks ago with the 2.5 injection. One shot weekly in my stomach area. I have lost 16 lbs so far and will be starting my new dose of 5.5 tomorrow for 4 weeks. I have been very pleased so far with Mounjaro. I am not hungry at all, in fact, I have to remind myself to eat. So far, the only side effects I've experienced are diarrhea, constipation, and I appear to have a change in how some things taste. Certain things I liked the taste of before now have a strange aftertaste. I am loving losing the weight and hopeful I will lose more."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Lowered A1C from 8.7 to 7.2 in 90 days on the 2.5 mg. I have not checked on the 5.0 mg. Blood sugar is down from 180s to 110s. The blood sugars stay consistent for the most part. I know which foods will raise it, such as corn products and wine, though it does not go beyond 130s for me. Started on 2.5 mg and just raised to 7.5 mg, which is hard to get. It took 3 months of backorder. If I overindulge in food or wine, I will not have a pleasant night. Nausea and diarrhea will happen. It helps with appetite control. This starts happening with the 5.0 mg, but I have really noticed the difference in the 7.5 mg. I typically need a snack between meals, now I can go longer without feeling so hungry or jittery. I have yet to lose any weight, but I think it will come as I continue with the 7.0 mg. I have lowered my Toujeo dosage from 82 to 50 units per day. It is a big drop with each higher dosage. I believe I will be in the 30s by the time I step up to the 10.0s. I also take Metformin XL."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Jan 6 at 191. 57F, 5'6'. July 12, 143. So almost 50# in 6 mo. First month or so on 2.5, I had mild nausea (Zofran worked great), indigestion (Pepcid chewables for that), and occasional constipation. Diarrhea maybe twice. Experienced some fatigue initially, but likely the result of very low calorie intake. Have been on 5 mg since, with only mild constipation. This drug is an absolute game changer for me. I had tried for almost 2 years to drop the weight with diet and exercise with basically zero success. Now I'm approaching my lowest adult weight with minimal effort! Biggest downfall is having to spend money on new smaller clothes."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "So far, so good until yesterday. I think I ate too much, and then the stomach pain started, and diarrhea followed all night. As I tried to ingest water, I became nauseous and had to throw up, but that decreased the pain. I think I’m just getting used to the drug since this was my first dose of 7.5 mg pen."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Currently on 750 Mounjaro. 2nd injection on Wednesday, had a 17-hour episode of vomiting and diarrhea on Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. I did not take the 3rd injection the following Wednesday. By Friday, I had the hungry horrors and joint pain in my hips and knees. Weight loss about 25 lbs, and my A1C only came down from 7.5 to 7.1 in the 5 months I’ve been on Mounjaro. If you take these meds, please listen to your body and the way it reacts to these meds."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So far, I have lost about 2 lbs per week. Side effects include some constipation and periodic diarrhea. I am taking 10 mg subcutaneously weekly. I have been taking it for a month and have noticed a marked decrease in appetite without stimulant-type effects! I am very pleased with this medication."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I didn't feel like eating at all, and I started to lose weight quickly. In fact, I lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I had diarrhea about three times a day in the beginning, it wasn't until about three months for that to stop. But now I have issues with belching and gas. I am now down 50 lbs, which is great, but I lost a lot of muscle tone. All in all, my blood sugar is doing great. I do recommend staying hydrated and taking some anti-gas meds if stomach pain persists."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "We don't all lose weight quickly with this. I've taken Ozempic, then Tirzepatide for 29 weeks today. Starting weight was 187 lbs, now down 25 pounds. I maintained my weight on diets and with exercise until I was about 32 when I had a thyroidectomy and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. I've tried 20+ diets, and the only one that works for me is the HCG diet. I have to eat 500-800 calories per day to lose a little weight. And... I'm hungry so much of the time. Hunger is my enemy. After reading lots of reviews, I knew I'd be a slow loser, and I am still thrilled with the results!!! Hunger doesn't rule my world. I eat about 1000 calories a day, naturally, and try to eat less than 150 g carbs, 25 g+ fiber, and 90 protein. I'm now on 7.5 mg of Tirzepatide. I had horrible diarrhea and nausea for 3 weeks at about week 7. Now I take loperamide hydrochloride 1-2/week to stop the diarrhea. Worth it!!!"

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I am only able to get this drug because I have OSA, even though I have struggled with weight issues for years. I have been on Zepbound for 5 weeks. I have lost 10 pounds so far. I have also had 2 full days of bad “sewer burps,” gas, and bad diarrhea. I ate sugary foods one day I was sick, the other time I was sick I have no idea what I had done wrong. Both the burps and the diarrhea are bad and nasty. One day I had to stay home from church, and the second day I was at work (that created a certain level of anxiety for me). I have noticed a huge difference in food cravings and appetite. Sometimes I have struggled to find something I actually wanted to eat. I have eaten a greater amount of fruits (especially raspberries, strawberries, apples, and bananas). I eat protein bars (20 grams) 3-4 days per week, and I try to drink as much water as I can hold. I am recovering from Achilles tendinopathy followed by a broken patella, so I have not been exercising yet."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "The first time I used Mounjaro, I had absolutely no side effects other than being full and not wanting to eat. Months later, I begged my doctor to give it to me again to help me lose weight. I’ve been on it the second time, and I’ve had severe diarrhea for over a week. And I didn’t lose an ounce! I’m eating so little food, wanting to lose weight, that I’m shocked at how much and how long the diarrhea is lasting. I weigh myself each Saturday morning, then do the shot. Write it on the calendar to track my weight loss. No change from the start to last week. Bummer, so I’ll continue to finish my prescription and look at the end results."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I take it for type 2 diabetes and obesity for 1 month now. It made me itch, sick stomach, and very fatigued. Lost 12 lbs so far, loose stools. Will stay on 2.5 dosage for another month. I don't think I can handle a higher dose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This has helped overcome the weight loss plateau I have experienced post-menopause in a way which no other eating or exercise regimes have managed to achieve. My overall food intake has probably not reduced significantly, but it is easier to manage with fewer cravings and feeling fuller for longer. I think the metabolic effects have been key to the weight loss of slightly under 2 lb a week. Increased appetite has been apparent on day 6. I have had to increase the dose to 10 mg weekly over 9 weeks, having experienced minimal appetite suppression on 2.5 mg weekly. The main side effect has been noticeable fatigue, which I try to offset by administering the medication at nighttime. It wears off as the week progresses. Time will tell whether I will habituate to this side effect. Looser stools have been apparent in the first few days, but no other gastrointestinal symptoms. Overall, I am very pleased with the results, and the tiredness, while not desirable, is bearable given the outcome."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took my first dose on 5/10/2024, felt fine but did feel loss of appetite. By 5/14, that all changed. Woke up with terrible cramps, diarrhea, chills, and headache. So bad I had to call in to work. Now I don't know if this is what caused it but I was not watching my fat intake, busy with 2 birthdays and Mother's Day. Talked to the provider and they gave me a prescription for nausea. I felt good enough on 5/16 evening to work with one of my horses but today back at work with a gurgling stomach and belching. Can hardly eat because I'm afraid to. My dose was 2.5, provider wants me to wait a week or so and lower my dosage. I am truly afraid to take it, due to the effects I am having now. I had high hopes it would help me lose 30 lbs but not so sure anymore. Effective but not much fun to feel this terrible. Maybe just need my body to get used to it. Don't know, I may have triggered this by poor eating after the injection."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Initially I did experience increased burping (medicinal taste), flatus, indigestion, could hear and feel an increased gurgling sound/movement in stomach. Constipation followed by loose stools. HgbA1c decreased. Weight loss (80 lbs). Cost too much! - At 10 mg per dose x 4 doses = $350.00 per month cash! Now having hair loss."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "By adding Mounjaro 0.25, along with slight dietary change, my A1C went down dramatically from 9.5 to 6.5 in just 90 days. I also continued with Metformin (1000 mg 2x daily) and glipizide (15 mg 1x daily). The only side effect I experienced was at the beginning of the treatment. On Day 2 after the injection, I experienced severe diarrhea, which lasted roughly 5 days. After this time frame, everything seemed to return to normal. At my next 90-day Dr. appointment, we reduced the glipizide to 10 mg and increased Mounjaro to 5 mg. The same side effect returned for roughly the same time period, then everything was back to normal once again. I also had one of the 0.25 mg pens (out of 12) that failed. The button pushed, but the syringe did not advance nor did it inject the drug. Overall, I am very pleased with my personal results and feel the very unpleasant side effect is outweighed by the benefit received. I also appreciate Lilly for making the savings card easy to apply for."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started with 2.5 mg in January, which went very well. Then up to 5 mg. That was going great for 10 weeks. Then everything went downhill. Had a reaction of severe indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, backache, and overall body just not good. Took anti-nausea medicine, did not get rid of the nausea. Called an ambulance, after discussion, decided to wait since ER would not be able to administer more anti-nausea medication. Stayed in bed (I never do that), after 12 hours of pure hell, finally feeling better. Still feel like my body has been beaten up for 12 hours. It will take a day to fully recover. While the medicine does work, I’ve lost 13 lbs and my blood sugar stayed steady. This experience has me questioning whether it is worth losing a day every week in bed. The late reaction after 10 weeks has me more concerned. I will have to give this some serious consideration in my decision."

Tirzepatide "As a T1 diabetic, with insulin resistance, this has been a miracle for me. My long-acting went from 120u to 64, and my short from 35 to 10-20 with meals. The overall physical relief has been life-changing. That said, I first had diarrhea and nausea. This was mostly day 1-3, and passed after the first couple of months. The gas, bloating, and belching are insane-Gas-X helps. Also, day one I had a metallic taste and bone-chilling cold. After almost 2 years of use, the worst side effect is constipation and gas. The biggest problem is availability. I've spent the last 8 months mostly unable to locate my 15 mg dosage-every single month, literally 6-8 hours on the phone trying to find anything. Driving as far as 100 miles from home. One month having to get 2 boxes of 5, which I had to pay retail for box 2. Several times being unable to locate more than 7.5. Pharmacies refusing to sell it to new patients. It's been an absolute nightmare for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this medication with 10 cc 5 months ago, and now I’m taking 70 cc a week. I’ve lost 15 lbs. I’m not sure if it is controlling my appetite anymore. I still crave carbs, but can control it better. I am having 30 mg of protein 3 times a day to keep me satiated. I’m hoping to lose another 15 lbs in 3 months. I will probably buy one more bottle after this one, but then I’m stopping. I’ve started having diarrhea in the last 3 days. I get nausea if I eat past a point and at times feel very tired."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "When I was low end I had no problems. And it dropped my A1C significantly. I started an increased dosage this week and started having diarrhea a few days after starting. On day three, and it seems to be slowing down, but now I have shortness of breath."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound is working for me. I'm down 12 lbs. This is my first month of use. There has been no pain or bruising from the injections. I have to be mindful to eat a small portion. No sugar, I did fine using a little Stevia once. I have slept well. I have energy for pool and Silver Sneakers classes. Some walking. The reprisals are swift and brutal. Later on in the wee hours, I had miserable cramping and diarrhea. Have a receptacle ready because there will be violent vomiting. Vomiting subsides sooner than low abdominal cramping with diarrhea 3 to 5 hours of every few minutes back to the bathroom after being on the toilet for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. Chew your food, don’t eat fast. I do feel full all the time. I will be hungry but for just a little. My stomach is fine otherwise. When the punishment in the restroom is over, it's like it never happened. I’ve noticed I have a strong odor I didn’t have before. Breath, gas, body odor, number 2. It’s manageable."

"I started taking the 2.5 on 9/1 after I had begun IF on August 1. Overall, I have now lost 12 pounds over 7 weeks. My appetite is significantly reduced; my biggest concern is I’m not getting enough calories due to lack of appetite and also a restricted eating window. Since being on the medication, I have experienced constipation, diarrhea, especially on day two and three after the shot each week, general fatigue, and a generally uneasy stomach, and sometimes stomach cramps. Usually, these wear off by day five and are worse on day three and four. It is not clear to me if my weight loss is due to the fasting or the medication or both, but it does seem to be steady at 1 to 2 pounds per week as I am tracking it. I only hope that it continues to lose at this rate and does not plateau! I am ready to move up to 5 mg next week, and I’m a little nervous to experience stronger side effects. So far, I am thrilled to actually be losing weight! SW: 187. GW: 130.5’2” age 54."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Pros: 20 lbs lost in 4 weeks, zero appetite, able to move joints freely, more energy. Cons: Diarrhea (gallbladder removed 13 years ago), hypoglycemic episode once in 3 weeks of use - learned to consume good carbs. Overall, the medication is working great for me, and I only wish I were able to start it sooner."
