For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on a 2.5 mg dose for 30 days and had nothing positive or negative. The doctor increased it to 12.5 mg, and my appetite went to zero, stomach pain, throw-up, diarrhea, general nausea, and ill feeling, but did lose 15 lbs in 3 weeks, and my blood labs were near perfect. I was ready to quit until I saw this. The second month, my appetite came back slightly, and I learned to eat less and cleaner so it wouldn’t make me throw up, lost another 15 lbs, and it excited me to get back in the gym daily. Since the drug slows your digestion, it slows the bowel too, which gave me insane constipation and made sure I eat enough fiber daily. At first, the side effects are hell, but stick with it as they only lasted a month, then your body adjusts and you learn how to eat and work with it. The end results are worth it. It's been 9 months, and I have lost 35 lbs, labs are excellent, and for the first time, I have seen glucose under 100 in 30 years."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 7 weeks. The first 4 weeks the dosage was 2.5, and the last 3 weeks it was 5. I love Mounjaro! It takes away my food obsessions and sugar cravings. It lets me focus on life rather than on food. I did get a few minor incidents of diarrhea and an occasional minor feeling of nausea, but they were nothing serious. Mounjaro has helped me lose 15 pounds in 7 weeks and brought my blood sugar from 220 to 120. I wish it were cheaper, but it has been worth it for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On week number three, I started with stomach cramps and diarrhea. The night before, I had a huge helping of Boom Chicka Pop kettle corn. While the packaging states it only uses cane sugar, I came to the conclusion that this product (perhaps in the amount eaten) suddenly didn’t agree with me while taking Zepbound. I’ve lost 5 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. Diarrhea and cramping subsided after 36 hours."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Went to the doctor and asked for something to help lose weight. He prescribed this medication. Day 1 and 2... nothing. Day 3 woke up with horrible heartburn and sour sulfur burps and facts and was constipated. By day 3 evening, I no longer had constipation but just the opposite... diarrhea! And not just any kind, it was like yellow water and very acidic. It hurt! Had horrible gas and belching all day Saturday, and Sunday couldn't hardly leave the bathroom to go buy Imodium. Imodium helped with that, but the gas is now trapped, and my stomach hurts badly, and I am full of gas with bad heartburn and belching. I saw a correlation between fatty foods and severe side effects of this product. But unless you're a vegan, you eat fat, and that's a major problem with this product. It is now Monday night, and I cannot seem to get my work done, I hurt so badly. I will never take this product again, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it with all the terrible side effects. Shame on Mounjaro!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Effortlessly went from 250 lbs to 198 lbs in 9 months, with very minimal side effects! It took me this long to go through the gradual dosage increases. When I missed a few weeks here and there, I regained weight. I’ve been extra committed to the regularity of doses after that! My only side effects have been: some mild constipation (take mg citrate to fight that), very mild diarrhea, heartburn that increased as the dosage mg increased, although eating TUMS like candy took care of it (but expensive because I insist on having the TUMS that taste good to me), and injection site reactions (similar to a mosquito bite ≈ 3 days, managed with OTC cortisol cream and/or OTC roll-on 4% lidocaine). I used to have no off switch; was always hungry! Now, my mom (Wegovy) and I look at each other in amazement and ask, “Is this what it feels like to be normal?” She’s been up to 300 lbs, had bariatric surgery, we’ve both done keto, nothing lasted. She’s now 160!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started out on the 2.5 for 2 months and lost 15 lbs, and my A1C dropped from 6.7 to 6.0. Mild side effect symptoms of abdominal pain and nausea. I started the 5 mg and had explosive diarrhea and uncontrollable vomiting, with abdominal and back pain. My blood pressure dropped to 88/55. I had to stop taking the Mounjaro. After 3 weeks, I am starting to feel normal again. Sorry it didn’t work for me. It did curb the appetite."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m struggling to get below 154 lbs, and being 5’, that’s a lot of weight to carry, which induces back pain. Lost 20 lbs on Ozempic from the beginning of the year till June, have managed to gain back 5 lbs, which isn’t awful but still not at my goal weight. I just left the ER from getting a bolus of saline due to dehydration. I’m battling hypoglycemia. I took my first shot on Tuesday. Wednesday felt decent, but malaise was setting in. Thursday, I didn’t even realize I had not eaten all day and all night at work. Friday night, I tried to eat half of a sandwich and was completely nauseous. Tonight at work, after eating half a sandwich and a few green beans, I had terrible diarrhea and became so dizzy and nauseated I was forced to leave work, having someone else take over my patients. Just a word of advice: if you’re a busy person, this med may not be for you. I had side effects of fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, and muscle pain, and I was negative for flu, COVID, and strep. The doctor said to go back to Ozempic :( but I’ve lost 6 lbs already!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am just getting back on after having to quit for hip joint replacement surgery. I am up to 7 mg now. My daily glucose level is going down. I’ve had some weight loss. But the side effects are discouraging. Excessive gas, burping, bloating, diarrhea, and fluttering inside my chest. These symptoms last 2 or 3 days after injection. I am going to continue injections in the hope the side effects get better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Severe nausea, horrid vomiting and diarrhea after 7.5 mg dose - did okay with 2.5 and 5 mg doses - there should be more warnings with the higher doses as this was severe. Higher doses should be reviewed further for safety reasons."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It has worked, very positive results. No side effects after 11 weeks. I was on Saxenda and had many side effects, including episodes of gout, diarrhea, and indigestion (sulfur-tasting burps). I highly recommend it but caution folks to not rush increasing the dose (2.5 mg, then 5 mg, then 7.5 mg, etc. -- I took each dose for 4 weeks before increasing -- a friend skipped from 5 mg to 10 and became very ill). My only complaint is that it is very expensive for me because my insurance will not cover it for weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had zero issues with the drug when I do right. If I overeat, I have diarrhea and sulfur burps for sure. When I start my day with protein and coffee, and drink lots of water, I have zero issues. But if I mess up like I did this week (ate breakfast, lunch, happy hour, snacked), I was up all night in a world of hurt, and I still haven't fully recovered. I haven't noticed a significant weight loss in 5 weeks (10 pounds), but it’s been steady. Just DO NOT OVEREAT and drink plenty of water."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro in March 2024 at 193 pounds and an A1C of 12.3. For almost 11 years as a type 1 diabetic. By July 2024, I was down to 153 pounds and an A1C of 7.75. I started off with the two, then went to the five, then to the seven, then to the 10. But after being on a 10, I started back developing an appetite, however, I exercised at least two hours per day faithfully in the gym. When I was on the number five, I had diarrhea a lot. When I made it to the 10, I just had a lot of belching, burping, saying that the 10 wasn’t doing much, I was still at like 150. I was bumped up to the number 12, and Lord have mercy on my soul. It almost took me out of here! I lost weight too fast. I got down to 116 pounds. I couldn’t. I didn’t have any desire to eat. I didn’t have any desire to drink. I would forget that I hadn’t been drinking anything. I would forget that I didn’t eat anything, and I’m still going to the gym every single day. It was until I dehydrated twice that I..."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Type 2 - I had been on Ozempic. It made me vomit/diarrhea, had Charley horses and hand tremors, and I was belching acid. After 3 months, my Endo switched me to Mounjaro, stating it was stronger, but many people tolerate it better. Week one, I was sick six days. All the same symptoms I had on Ozempic, only more severe. Heart rate 15 beats higher per minute. Week two, I was sick five days. Week three, within 12 hours, all the same symptoms began, and more. The vomiting was severe (mouth and nose). The belching was rank smelling/tasting. Diarrhea. My appetite was definitely curbed. My belly sounded like a flood of water flowing through my innermost pipes but felt numb. Eyes were so dry. My watch alerted me that at night my respiration rate was dipping to 7.5. (Did not even know my watch tracked that!) My heart rate dipped to 45. My blood sugar went to 43. Felt like I was not going to breathe or control peeing. And more! Day five, I ended up in the hospital in AFIB with a high heart rate. ICU."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 64-year-old woman. 5'2" and weighed 177. I've lost 10 pounds in my first 3 weeks. With the heartburn, I had to force myself to eat last night when I wasn't really hungry. I think I ate the scrambled eggs too late in the evening. I had horrible diarrhea and vomiting. That was the first time that happened. I'm hoping it's just because I ate so late on such an empty stomach. I have had no desire to eat the first 3 or 4 days after injection. I have to remind myself to eat something."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Happy holidays, everyone. This medication is making it impossible for me to do anything. Dr. prescribed it. Day 1 felt fine. Day 2, near the end of the day, I had no desire for food-nothing. Today is Day 3, and I’ve been nauseous all day, and near the end of the day, I started to get diarrhea. The nausea has been pretty bad, though I did work out (it made it worse, and I had to skip some of it). Also, today, because of nausea, I have not wanted anything to eat. I forced myself to have half of an English muffin with peanut butter, and then this evening, a Campbell's soup to go since I was feeling so sick. I will not be taking the second dose this coming week when it is due because I feel miserable. It has a 5-day half-life, which is why I didn’t want to take it to begin with in case of side effects. It seems a lot of people get these side effects, and what I’ve learned is I always seem to get the side effects of medication. Be cautious. It needs a reversal pronto!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just finished my first month of Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I did experience some side effects on the first day: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but the second day was better. After eating a small meal, I experienced bad sulfur-like burps throughout the day. So I took Pepto Bismol, and that worked like a charm! So before each one of my injections, I take a dose of it the first half hour before with no problems now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 9 pounds the first month, and apart from a slightly upset stomach and heartburn for a few days, I was fine. I moved up to 5 ml on week 5, and after a few days, I started to get cramps and then vomiting. I have had bright yellow, watery liquid diarrhea. I thought I needed an ambulance, the pain was so bad. I will not be taking 5 ml after this."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Nov 12 and am down 27 pounds. I have been on 5 mg for 16 weeks due to a shortage of 7.5 mg, so weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am not gaining! Very sick the first week with nausea and one night of vomiting and diarrhea, but after that, only indigestion at night and occasionally like the next day after the injection! Pleased with the outcome so far! Disappointed with not moving up due to a shortage of 7.5 mg."

"I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. 4 weeks of that I was on the 2.5 mg dose and lost 15 lbs by the 4th week. The last 3 weeks I've been on the 5 mg and I've lost ZERO lbs. Seems kind of useless to take when you have all the side effects (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, headache, severe fatigue) for 3 weeks straight with no weight loss. I am considering going off this medication, I think it was all just hype. I've also stopped having periods. 40 years old, SW 199, CW 185, GW 140. Also following website food/calories recommendations. I have no other disease, just obesity."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I didn’t think anything could decrease my appetite, but boy did this! Completely lost it, so much so that, for 2 days, my blood sugar levels were not high enough to give any injections of my regular insulin or my long-acting one. Then I started to have diarrhea. It’s not fun! But if you’re looking for something to quash your appetite, this is it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C and glucose levels are great. I am not on insulin. Side effects are rotten. Nausea, GERD, constipation/diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, decreased appetite every shot lessens over the week. Had this with Ozempic and Trulicity too, but not as severe. I have seen no weight loss benefit despite a decent diet and moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. Other side effects I’m not sure are related: feeling of lump in throat, slight face rash, occasional blurred vision, tingling in hands."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It was rough in the beginning, with diarrhea, then constipation and heavy belching. The diarrhea ended after about a month, but constipation has continued. In addition to those symptoms, I experienced an undercurrent of nausea for several months, with it being more pronounced just after eating. After about eight months, the nausea abated for the most part. I started on the 2.5 and moved up in dosage every 2 months or so. I am entering month 10 and am on the 12.5 dosage. For the first 6-7 months, I lost approximately 1.5 lbs/wk, and over the last 2-3 months that has slowed down a little. I have lost a total of 50 lbs. The other side effect I've experienced is I sometimes have low blood sugar in the mornings, so I will have juice or something to help take care of it. It is easy to use, and despite the rough start, I am pleased with the results."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 45 years old and female. I have been on Zepbound for eight months. I started at 275 lbs and am now at 235 lbs. The day after I first took it, my stomach was so full it hurt, just from my normal portion sizes. Over time, the dosage has increased to 7.5. I am a little more tired than usual, but that's a small price to pay. The vast majority of side effects occur when I overeat. There's no way to know which of these I will have then: pain in my stomach, egg burps, loud flatulence, and/or diarrhea. I have been sick a lot more than usual, along with swollen lymph nodes and hoarseness, but there's no way to know if they're related or not."

For Type 2 Diabetes "In the two doses, my blood sugar has been lower, my appetite has diminished, and I had no side effects. At the end of the second week (Saturday), I woke up during the night with stomach pain, diarrhea, and belching. After 6 hours, I finally vomited up undigested food that had been in my stomach for over 12 hours. It looked like I had just eaten. I avoided all food until Sunday morning, eating 1/2 of a plain English muffin. I had Lipton chicken soup, a piece of Bavarian pretzel, and a few french fries (picking from my wife’s meal). Monday, I finally felt hungry and had a Whopper Jr. (not a good choice I know), and Tuesday I woke up with food sitting in my stomach and one diarrhea BM. NOTE: I have not taken dose #3, nor do I plan to. This is slowing my digestion down too much. I have never had digestive issues, and I’m not going to start now."
