For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a doctor and was hoping I could use this Mounjaro for my patients - thought I would try it first. Began with 2.5 mg for four weeks. Very bothersome reflux and was popping Rolaids. I lost 7 lbs in the first month. My doc increased me to 5 mg, and I did OK for the first two shots. On the third injection, I developed sulfur burps and diarrhea. After the fourth shot - I developed gastroparesis (stomach not emptying at all), profound nausea, dehydration, and I am very gassy. I have not been able to function for 5 days. Praying I am better tomorrow as I have a shift in the ED. Not sure about prescribing this based on my own experience."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Began taking on January 12, 2025. Moved up dosage monthly under supervision of Physician’s Assistant from 2.5 mg to 10 mg. No noticeable side effects. Lost 30 lbs between start date and May 18, 2025 (from 268 to 238 lbs). Previously tried Ozempic and Wegovy each for about two weeks each. Had horrible side effects (explosive diarrhea and vomiting) bad enough to discontinue. Was apprehensive about Zepbound — but experience was completely different. Only exception was May 17-18, when consumed about three glasses of wine (previously had no alcohol during usage period). Had explosive diarrhea just like when using Ozempic and Wegovy. Tested for COVID on May 18, but result was negative. Intend to continue with Zepbound (despite the predatory cost — over $500/month out of pocket but with some insurance). Intend to avoid alcohol consumption and see whether side effects diminish. Pleased with Zepbound results thus far."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "On 7.5 g Mounjaro. Blood sugar numbers came down. Weight did not. Experienced many of the more common side effects, e.g., diarrhea, gas, increased GERD. Ate less, watched protein intake closely. Experienced acute pancreatitis that was caused by gallstones, including one that blocked a biliary duct. After gallbladder surgery, my primary care physician decided to take me off Mounjaro permanently. I want to stress that I do NOT believe the drug had a thing to do with the pancreatitis, as I had the gallstone symptoms far longer than I was taking Mounjaro."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my 4th week of 2.5 mg. Mild side effect of constipation, which I have managed with diet. Definitely reduced appetite, no desire to eat the usual chocolate, ice cream, or crisps, or late evening snacking. Then, a day after my 4th injection, I was, for the first time, suffering with wind, including the dreaded burps. Very little appetite. That was followed by a very bad bout of diarrhea, which saw me rushing to the loo all through the night. Settling down now after 24 hours. Not eaten today yet. Hoping this won't happen again, especially as I am due to increase dosage to 5 mg next week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started the 2.5 Mounjaro injection prescribed by my doctor a week ago to help lose weight. I was happy that the injection was super easy and didn’t hurt at all. The first 2 days I felt great! I had zero appetite, even on the first day, and had to force myself to eat. By the 3rd day… it was a nightmare! I had nonstop diarrhea, the kind you get with colonoscopy prep stuff! I also experienced horrible, sulfur-like belching, especially when getting up in the morning, and had extreme pain in my lower back. Then, last night, I had extremely forceful vomiting, which is crazy because I don’t really have anything in my system! I still have the horrible diarrhea 7 days later, also pretty extreme fatigue, slight heartburn, and a nauseated feeling. I am just praying this stuff gets out of my system ASAP! I just wish someone could tell me how long before I feel better! I will not be using the rest of my Mounjaro injections after the experience I’ve had this first week."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was started on Mounjaro at the end of Jan 2023. My A1C was 10, and I am 41, about 5 ft 9 in. I weighed about 350 lbs. I had no energy, had sleep apnea, hurt all the time, and could not even walk without running out of breath. I was miserable. Finally, I talked to my doctor, and she decided to try me on this. After a little struggle getting insurance to cover it and get the med in stock at my pharmacy, I got going on this new journey. About 2 months in, I started having major diarrhea and vomiting. Had to take a break for a week and then started doing my injections in my thighs instead of my belly, and that has made it a lot more bearable. I do still get diarrhea and sulfur burps for 3, sometimes 4 days after my shot, but nothing major. Now my A1C is 6, my blood glucose averages 75, and I am weighing in at 270 lbs. I can walk now without running out of breath and without being in major pain. I have made other changes, such as watching what I eat, stopping drinking soda, and started trying to walk."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Female, 52 years, beginning weight 177 lbs, 5'7. I took my fourth injection of 2.5 mg this morning. I've been eating about 500 calories/day. The first week I lost 2 lbs and I walked 3 miles 2 days and lifted weights 1 day. The second week back to 177 lbs, including 2 days in the gym. In the third week, I traveled and did not exercise or weigh myself. I ate out for Mother's Day and for a friend's baby shower. When I returned, I was 175 lbs. In 3 weeks, I've lost a total of 4 lbs. Side effects for me have been a little more tired-duh-less energy going in. This doesn't seem worth the cost. We meet with the doctor tomorrow about upping it to 5 mg. My husband has been diligent about walking 5-7 miles per day also on 2.5 mg, 500 calories/day, and has lost about 8 lbs. (He has more to lose than me). His side effects were little nausea the first week, a slight decrease in focus and energy, some mild headaches, and diarrhea. Says pooping is faster."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started at 2.5 mg for two months and lost 15 lbs. I had lots of sulfur burps and diarrhea initially. The diarrhea lasted a week. The sulfur burps lasted a few months and were disgusting. No nausea or vomiting. Moved to 5.0 mg for two months and lost 5 lbs. Sulfur burps a problem for the first month. Second month of tirzepatide, no side effects, but no weight loss. I plan on asking for an increased dosage. Good drug and helps food not seem attractive."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Stomach pain and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 6.6. Now my A1C is down to 5.5. My sleep apnea went from 27 incidents per hour to less than 2 per hour. I just started taking the 10 dosage. Every time I up my dosage, I have a few days of bad side effects, especially stomach pain, but after a while, they lessen, however, diarrhea or constipation never stops."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Taking the lowest dosage for 10 weeks. I’ve had to reduce my insulin dosage to avoid “lows.” I’m down about 15 pounds and my blood glucose numbers seem pretty stable. But I haven’t checked my A1C. The only negative side effect has been diarrhea, which seems to have subsided."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro worked well in the beginning. My BGL was lower, and I lost weight. After about 18 months, the control of my BGL was not as consistent. I experienced nausea and loss of appetite from the beginning, but that lessened over time. Recently, I have begun to experience severe diarrhea and belching for several days after taking a shot."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking medication for 16 weeks and lost 35 lbs. I have had some problems with stomach issues, but they come and go. I have had some constipation and diarrhea with the increase and the start of taking the medication. Sometimes it can be bad, but for the most part, I feel like the med is working."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started this shot about 2 months ago. My doctor prescribed the 2.5 first. I took it on Saturday morning, so I had the weekend to see how it made me feel. By Weds, I had flu-like symptoms for the day and missed work. The nausea lasted for the first few weeks, but I've completed my box of 5 mg, and I haven't had any nausea with it. However, I do have sulfur burps when I eat too much. And I have to force myself to drink water. But I rarely eat between meals, and I am down 20 pounds. I just picked up my new prescription of 7.5 and will take my first dose Saturday. I'm in my 50s, I am 5'3" and I started at 267 pounds. I have been on metformin for years. I've had severe diarrhea on metformin and would be in the bathroom multiple times a day with watery stool. I also ate everything in sight and snacked constantly. Now I have normal bowel movements. I also do not sweat profusely as I did on metformin. I have to say this shot has changed my life, and I am happy I am on it."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have started with 2.5 mg dose once every week on 16th April 2024. They gave me 4 rounds of this dose. Then they started with 5 mg dose once every week. Initially, I was feeling nausea, diarrhea, sour burps, and dizziness, and gradually it decreased. When I started to take 5 mg, the same symptoms, apart from diarrhea. This time I had severe constipation on the 3rd day of the 5 mg dose, but I took some home remedy and laxative medicine. Still experiencing constipation. But the good thing is my appetite has reduced significantly, I am eating like a 5 to 10-year-old child. Feeling energetic, I lost around 6 kg in weight. Sugar level is under control, reduced Humalog dose."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started in January 2025 with the 2.5 dose. For the first two weeks, I experienced nausea and diarrhea off and on. For the last two weeks, I was fine. I am on my second week of 5 mg. The first week, I was so sick - I take the shot late Friday afternoon - I was in bed most of the day on Saturday with nausea and fatigue. I did vomit once. Sunday was the same. The rest of the week, I felt fine. Second shot last Friday - I was okay on Saturday - able to function but very nauseous. Woke up on Sunday and spent most of the day in bed due to nausea and fatigue. The anti-nausea medicine helps but not so much for me. Today I am functioning with some nausea. The benefits of this drug are obvious. I don't eat as much as I did before the medicine. I've lost 16 lbs so far. The nausea bothers me. I should be able to function and not get sick every weekend after a shot. I no longer have diarrhea - I am constipated instead. When I take Miralax, I cannot think about it or I get sick."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 45 years old and female. I have been on Zepbound for eight months. I started at 275 lbs and am now at 235 lbs. The day after I first took it, my stomach was so full it hurt, just from my normal portion sizes. Over time, the dosage has increased to 7.5. I am a little more tired than usual, but that's a small price to pay. The vast majority of side effects occur when I overeat. There's no way to know which of these I will have then: pain in my stomach, egg burps, loud flatulence, and/or diarrhea. I have been sick a lot more than usual, along with swollen lymph nodes and hoarseness, but there's no way to know if they're related or not."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had insulin resistance and was overweight. I started taking Mounjaro and have lost 34 lbs and am now within 8 lbs of my goal weight. I have not increased my physical activity. My A1C has gone from 7.0 to 5.4. I started taking it 7 months ago. I have been on the 10 mg dosage for the last 2 months. I find that it is very easy to use. The side effects at first were nausea and diarrhea. They were very severe at first, but have calmed down and now I might experience some slight nausea the day after my injection. I also find that I really do not have any interest in food and do not feel hungry. I need to eat small meals of mostly protein and get full on very little food. Another side effect that seems to have gotten worse in the last 2 or 3 months is extreme fatigue. I find that I have very little energy."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 7 days ago for type 2 diabetes and weight loss. Days 1, 2, and 3 were great. Appetite was almost nonexistent, great, right? Day 4, my vision started to blur. Days 6 and 7, reoccurring stomach aches and diarrhea. I’m now on day 7 and my vision is so blurry I can barely see up close or far away. My vision was 20/20 before starting this. The insert says it can make diabetic retinopathy worse, to my knowledge, I don’t have diabetic retinopathy. I have an appointment with a retina specialist tomorrow. Works great as an appetite suppressant, and it really lowered my blood sugar, however, I need to see. So it’s going to be a no for me."

Tirzepatide "I have diarrhea, lower stomach pain, dry heaves every time I eat. I also have back pain, but that is not unusual. This pain might be a little different though. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this medication on 2/2/23; I am 36 years old, 5'5", and 179 pounds. As of today, 4/20/23, I weigh 160 pounds. Since 2019, I have not been able to lose weight after I had my son. I exercised routinely and would gain, lose, gain, lose, but couldn’t get past 171 lbs. My doctor saw my hopelessness, and luckily I have a Health Savings Account (HSA) that can cover this medication for 7 months. I haven’t had any major side effects. It actually has corrected issues. I don’t have diarrhea anymore; that was practically a daily thing for the last year before I started this medication. I feel healthier taking this medication. I exercise three times a week, and I’m trying to create a practical routine after I have to stop this medication. I’m on 7.5 mg and currently will stay at that dose. I highly recommend it. I’m not diabetic, but my fasting glucose was in the mild range, which leads me to believe that has been my problem over the past 4 years."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on week two of Tirzepatide and had nausea and vomiting almost every day. The vomiting is primarily at night, frequently accompanied by dry heaves, and can be intense. Diarrhea was the first week but better entering the second week. When I hit menopause, I had a very difficult time losing weight (I gained 20 pounds), even when on a clean diet with cardio four days a week. Since beginning meds, I have lost nine pounds and have very little to no appetite. My workouts are not as frequent due to the nausea and feeling tired. Even with negative side effects, I will stick with it in hopes my body will adjust. My weight gain has limited my ability to do my job, which requires a lot of bending and lifting. Just the nine pounds of weight loss has helped my knees not ache and more comfortable on the treadmill. I started at .25 mg, and the injection was no bother."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "It really does not control my glucose levels without Novolog and Tresiba. I’ve developed chills, shakes, nausea, and diarrhea. My doctor says it shows the shot is working. I’m not dealing with the level of neuropathy like Trulicity. Plus, my GFR came back by 10 points."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro eliminated my appetite. Foods I previously craved and binged on were no longer of interest. I felt full after a few bites. However, when my doctor increased the dose from 2.5 mg to 5 mg, I began having side effects and ended up in the ER with severe diarrhea that was causing dehydration. I stopped taking Mounjaro after 6 weeks, but I did lose about 15 lbs during that 6 weeks. I want to restart but am worried about the side effects again."
