Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 60 y/o female, 5’7” and 288# on August 2, 2024. I was borderline diabetic and felt as though something had to be done considering my family history of diabetes and heart disease. I began Zepbound at the 2.5 dose. Seven weeks later, I weigh 252 and am very happy with my progress. My goal weight is 185, which is realistic for my height. I’m not taking this to become thin, I’m taking it to become healthy. My adverse side effects have been severe constipation and gas, which are easily mitigated with laxatives and gas reducers. I am eating healthier and am no longer controlled by excessive sugar cravings. While I once ordered a large ice cream, I now order a small and split it with my husband. My diet consists primarily of vegetables, and I have to remind myself to include at least a little protein to balance my diet. I am focusing on my relationship with food so I can continue to succeed when I am no longer using the medication after 12 months. My co-pay is $25.00."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started the medication in November of last year. I started with 5 mg and incrementally increased the dosage up to 15 mg. The small hypodermic needle made it easy to inject. At 10 mg, I reached a plateau with the weight loss. I eventually went up to 15 mg and stayed on that dose for 2 months. The primary reason for taking it was for type 2 diabetes, and I benefited from weight loss as I was also overweight. As of today, I have lost 35 lbs but stopped the Mounjaro about a month ago. My appetite seemed to slowly get back to normal, which is not a good thing. I also did intermittent fasting, so that helped a lot with the cravings, etc. I also get some bouts of constipation, but my diet made up for that. My urine smelled different. I pray there were no effects on my kidneys. My blood sugars are normal. My A1C is 5.2, so I chose to stop the medication and continue the weight loss journey naturally."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My wife had been on Mounjaro for several months and had seen dramatic weight loss. Our bro-in-law had a prescription but had a reaction, so he gave his supply to me. (My insurance doesn't cover it.) After 5 months, I had lost 50+ lbs. In 15 months, my wife lost over 170 pounds. Both of us combined our course with a keto diet: low carbs, high fat, and protein. The wife's sisters had also seen similar results while also using the keto diet. I am not diabetic, but my wife is. She has cut her use of insulin to the bare minimum and will still occasionally have low blood sugar. While I have run out of my supply, I used 5, 7.5, and 10. My wife has had a more managed regimen, gradually increasing to her current 12.5. Our only real side effect has been constipation. We are trying to handle that with an increase in eating more fiber and fiber supplements, along with using laxatives. To deal with our decreased food intake, we are both also taking vitamin supplements."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was recommended weight loss pre-knee surgery and decided to try Mounjaro. I am a 55-year-old female, at least 12 kilos overweight. I have been using it for 3 weeks now (2.5 mg) and have lost 2 kg. There was no nausea, and I manage slight constipation with poached pears and yogurt or a prebiotic. I realized very quickly that I needed to eat smaller amounts more regularly as opposed to my previous habit of waiting until I was really hungry - I didn’t eat badly before, but my food portions were larger, and I regularly consumed alcohol. I tried a sip of champagne after 2 weeks of Mounjaro, and it tasted horrible. The combination of eating less, feeling satisfied, sleeping better, and weight loss has already changed my life for the better."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It's been a pretty good experience. The top dose I take is 7.5. Side effects: tiredness, a little dizziness, and some constipation. Make sure I eat something, this drug makes you forget about eating. This is what I contribute my dizziness to. I make sure I eat all 3 meals. More like 1/2 portions now. This is teaching me portion control. I've lost 32 lbs in 4 months."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started with 2 1/2, went up to five, and then now I am at 10. I lost a few pounds a week, although my appetite is much less than usual. The side effects have been very minimal, mostly headache, sore throat, and hoarseness seems to linger, never really goes. Constipation can be an issue at times, that only for myself, but other people I know on the same drug. My PA is working very closely with her and paying attention to absolutely everything closely. I feel that it’s a safe drug so far if you have a doctor or PA that is on board with you and to a full degree of attention. My hope is that once my A1c is in order, I will be able to discontinue the drug completely, although some studies recommend that not to be probable, again, working closely with my doctor and care team. Thank you for your time."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am happy with the results so far. I have lost 29 lbs in 13 weeks. My goal is 75 lb weight loss. My appetite is far less, and my cravings for sugar have much improved. I have had some constipation and 1 or 2 episodes of nausea but did not vomit. You have to drink water! I started on 2.5 mg and was increased to 5 mg. I'm worried to go to a higher dose due to potential increased side effects, as I have a history of kidney issues. However, since I started the medicine, my Hga1c is normal and lipid panel perfect."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 55-year-old female, 5’7 starting weight 250, started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. 1st month, 2.5 — moved up to 5 2nd month. Probably the most annoying, almost immediate side effects were GERD, bloating, and constipation. However, this did improve quickly when I added more fiber, avoided high-fat, saucy foods, and ate less. I do agree with the others… that it definitely helps your “hunger-food brain.” I can skip a meal without even noticing. I fill up eating a quarter to half of what I would normally eat. I begin getting nauseated while I eat, which makes me stop eating, of course. Now that I've increased from 2.5 to 5, the nausea is a little worse, but intermittent and tolerable. Hoping this will improve once my body adjusts. Overall, still very thankful for this opportunity to try Zepbound. I'm trying to find some type of a meal plan to follow, with sufficient protein and fiber, as well as other foods or supplements to prevent muscle loss, hair loss, constipation, and fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The compounded tirzepatide works great for weight loss, and it’s much cheaper! I have lost 40 pounds in 6 months, so it works very well. Side effects I’ve experienced are constipation, but it gets better in time, especially with the right diet. It’s easy to inject."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m 63 years old, 5’7”, and when I started Zepbound on May 8th, 2024, I weighed 240 lbs. Now I’m down to 200 lbs! Started with 2.5 mg like most people, then 7.5 mg. The side effects were minimal, just some slight constipation when I first started, now nothing. All my cravings for fatty junk food, potato chips, ice cream, candy, etc., are gone. I still eat mostly anything I want, but half the portions, then I feel full. If you are overweight and if your insurance company pays for Zepbound, I highly recommend it."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began this treatment in April. It is now mid-September. I have lost 20 pounds. It is very easy to use, which is a big deal for those who have a needle phobia. In the beginning, I had very few side effects. After going to the 7.5 mg dose, I started to experience constipation and nausea. To combat this, I began a small fiber intake routine and requested Zofran from my doctor. Both are very effective for those side effects. I am now on a 12.5 mg dose and doing well. I feel I am close to a maintenance dose. This medication was quite effective. I am a small person, menopausal, and struggled with losing weight. Losing 20 lbs for my size is a very big deal. Through this process, I have learned better eating habits, keeping my portions small to maintain a healthy weight and continuing my exercise routine even if I am not losing weight. All in all, this was a win-win for me."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "It is excellent for control of Type 2 diabetes. Fasting glucose stays below 100 mg/dL exactly for one week. Appetite is suppressed completely. The only side effect that is very troublesome is constipation with secondary discomforts. Regular laxative is the only way to counter this."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 10 kg in 3.5 months with daily exercise and a calorie-controlled diet. It does not eliminate the cravings, though, I always have them. Just needed the mindset that this is an expensive drug and I have to make it work. No side effects at all compared to what I experienced with Saxenda. Saxenda gave me the most horrible constipation I've ever had in my life. I genuinely thought I was gonna end up in A&E for impacted stool. I'm very happy with Mounjaro."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro for 5.5 weeks. I've been on 2.5 mg the whole time. Although this dosage is considered a starting dose and not a therapeutic dose, I have seen a drop in fasting blood sugar from 110 down to 60 (I'm also taking metformin and glipizide). I have had few negative side effects (mild constipation) and have lost 8 lbs. I will talk to my Endo about moving up to 5.0 next and try to start reducing my metformin and glipizide dosages. Note: Although some people have some other major side effects, this drug affects everyone differently. You don't know how until you try it - this includes increasing your dosage."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started with the lowest dose for Type 2 diabetes. My A1C was 7.5. I immediately noticed I just wasn't hungry. Otherwise, no side effects. I have been on 15mg for several months now, except when I have to get a lower dose due to non-availability of the drug in my area. My A1C is now down to 5.6, and I have lost 87 lbs. I started at 325 lbs. I have some constipation, but it is manageable. I had noticed increased muscle weakness in my thighs, and I could barely walk without fear of falling. My doctor thought it was a lack of protein. After several days of high protein drinks, I felt much better. After a few weeks, I was back to normal. This is a great drug. I just wish it were more readily available."

Tirzepatide "I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. 4 weeks of that I was on the 2.5 mg dose and lost 15 lbs by the 4th week. The last 3 weeks I've been on the 5 mg and I've lost ZERO lbs. Seems kind of useless to take when you have all the side effects (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, headache, severe fatigue) for 3 weeks straight with no weight loss. I am considering going off this medication, I think it was all just hype. I've also stopped having periods. 40 years old, SW 199, CW 185, GW 140. Also following website food/calories recommendations. I have no other disease, just obesity."

Tirzepatide "'This medication is a miracle. I’m a 53-year-old female. I never had a problem with my weight until after the age of 45. During COVID, I gained 30 pounds and got up to 170. I was exercising regularly and trying to eat healthy, but could not lose any weight. I started Mounjaro and lost 10 pounds the first month. I had very few side effects. The only thing I experienced was constipation. Once I became used to the medication, I realized that my neck tension and migraines were gone. I’ve been on the medication for 6 months, taking only every other month, and have lost a total of 40 pounds. I’m now at 134 pounds. My goal weight is 130. I feel AMAZING. This medication has been life-changing. I've not only lost weight, but it also regulates my fatty kidney, taken away migraines, and helped with anxiety."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "When I weighed 212 lbs at 5’1”, I was facing breast reduction surgery, A1c was over 8, I was on Metformin and on multiple antidepressants. My doctor started me on Mounjaro at increasing doses. Now, just about 8 months later, my A1c is 6, I no longer need Metformin and I currently weigh 135 lbs…I’ve lost a whopping 77 lbs! I feel great! The side effects have been… little to no appetite, nausea for two to three days after injection, constipation… all easily managed. Mounjaro has changed my life, and I would do it all over again!"

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Mounjaro since April 24. Started on 5 mg because I was on Trulicity, which gave me severe stomach pains. Was on 10 mg before weight loss started. I’m 5’0”, lost 46 lbs, and A1C is 5.8. I now take 7.5 mg to avoid more weight loss. Hoping this will be my maintenance dose. Had very mild side effects initially, now just a little constipated, but coffee cures that. Feel better about myself. Very happy. Wish this came out years ago. Been diabetic since 42. Was unable to control both for a long time. Now I’m 68, and Mounjaro has made a believer out of me. I tell everyone about it that will listen. It affects everyone differently, so don’t always listen to the naysayers. Try for yourself."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been using Mounjaro for weight loss for 9 months. I have lost 90 pounds and have had very minimal side effects. Some nausea occasionally and constipation. I am so grateful to have been prescribed the Mounjaro, as I no longer have heartburn and have alleviated having to take omeprazole daily. My sleep apnea has improved, I no longer snore like I used to and no longer need a sleep mask. The aches and pains have decreased substantially, and I have more energy than I have had in years. I was pre-diabetic, and all of my labs have improved. I am hopeful to be able to continue with the prescription, however, I would be unable to afford the current copay. I fear if I have to stop, I will be back to my same obese status as I was a year ago. The medication not only curbs the appetite but also stops the 'food noise.' If you have this issue, this will totally make sense. If not, I envy you."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started 5 mg 2 weeks ago and am doing great. Appetite significantly decreased. Have so far lost 11 lbs. and have 35 lbs more to lose. Constipation is my only concern. Working on that, but since I am not eating as much, I don’t think I will go as often. Grateful for this drug. It provides an easy way to lose weight. Thanks."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C and glucose levels are great. I am not on insulin. Side effects are rotten. Nausea, GERD, constipation/diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, decreased appetite every shot lessens over the week. Had this with Ozempic and Trulicity too, but not as severe. I have seen no weight loss benefit despite a decent diet and moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. Other side effects I’m not sure are related: feeling of lump in throat, slight face rash, occasional blurred vision, tingling in hands."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Mounjaro in November 2022. I am 61 years old, weigh 194.6 lbs, a post-menopausal female with no other health issues to note. Since then, I have lost approx. 50 lbs and feel absolutely GREAT! In addition to the Mounjaro, I took weekly B12 shots, a multivitamin, a magnesium supplement, apple cider vinegar capsules, and a chromium supplement. I took the last injection on May 2, 2023 (weighing 144.6 lbs) and have continued with supplements. After 1 month, I am weighing 146.4 lbs. I do find myself having cravings at times and could eat more, but have been able to discipline myself to continue to eat in moderation and try to be more active since I definitely feel more energetic. My goal is to maintain below 150 lbs. I am a huge fan of this drug and have experienced very few side effects while taking it. I did experience indigestion and some constipation relieved by the supplements listed above."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound has been a godsend. I started at 244 lbs with a BMI of 36. I am down 60 lbs to 184. I started at the end of April, so just a little over 7 months. The only side effect I have had is the expected slow digestion, so you have constipation, with only having bowel movements every 2-3 days on average. However, some days you have a day where you have multiple movements in a day. Due to availability issues, I have not been on the proper dosing. Normally you start at 2.5 mg for the first month, then 5, 7.5, etc., for each month after until you max out at 15 mg. I started at 2.5 mg for the first month, but when I tried finding 5 mg, the only place was my insurance online pharmacy, and they only did 3-month prescriptions -- but 3 months at $100 (and the first month Eli Lilly gave me an $80 discount). I've only been able to find the 5 mg in order to not miss any doses. So, the good news is I was able to sustain the weight loss by staying at the same dose. If you can get it, it works great."
