For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound was effective within the first week. I experienced a significant decrease in hunger and decreased interest in food. I also found that I could not always finish a meal serving in one sitting. Initially, I had minor issues in bowel habits (constipation and diarrhea). Both symptoms are minor and managed with adequate hydration and fiber-rich foods. More disconcerting have been the “egg burps” caused by bacterial action on sulfur-rich foods in a slowed GI system. I have selected less sulfur-rich foods and make a concerted effort to drink more water during a day or two following the weekly injection. This side effect seems to have moderated, perhaps as I am into the second month of my current dosage and third month on Zepbound and/or temporarily minimizing sulfurous food intake in a short period following injection. I also track my food intake and assure I am eating an adequate level of protein. I have lost 15 pounds in 10 weeks. I am 77 and a woman."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my 2nd post, I am on 7.5 mg of Mounjaro, and I have loved every moment of this journey. I was 243 lbs and lost 49 lbs so far since October 2022. I also eat a healthy diet and exercise. Stay hydrated because my side effects are dry mouth and constipation. I did, however, find out that if you eat carbs, sugar, or fried food, you will get nauseous and possibly throw up. Lesson learned. Stick to protein, vegetables, and fruit. I need to lose 34 more lbs to be at my ideal weight. I am still excited to be on this journey."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication is incredible. My cholesterol and blood pressure were borderline. My doctor suggested losing weight (I have had a weight problem my entire life), which was an ongoing life pursuit for me. Nothing lasted. I would end up feeling worthless and depressed. I started this medication in January 2023. Today is April 25th, and I have lost 36 pounds. My blood pressure is on its way down. My energy levels were stable throughout the day from week one, so it is not just the weight loss, the medicine has helped with my ADHD and my depression. The only side effect I have experienced was constipation, which I corrected by using small dosages of Miralax daily. I hope the FDA approves this medication for weight loss soon. It is a great tool to use along with healthy eating and exercise."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "As soon as I began at the 2.5 dosage, I modified my diet radically to mitigate or even entirely avoid the dreaded side effects of indigestion, nausea, constipation, heartburn, and vomiting. I also embarked on a free-weight program to build muscle. Fortunately, I’ve experienced none of the unpleasant side effects. I’ve titrated up after each 4-week dosage and am now in the middle of 7.5 mg. My doctor tells me I have lost more weight than most patients have at this point. I also have chronic inflammation, which extra weight exacerbates, and I’m watching carefully to see that marker decrease. That’s the good news. Zepbound has completely changed my relationship to food. I consider myself a “foodie.” That’s now behind me. I remind myself that it’s been only 10 weeks. I’m hopeful that at some point, I will be able to enjoy more of the foods that were once such a large part of my life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've finished my 5th month of Zepbound injections. The dose pen makes the injection simple and painless. It took me a few weeks to actually feel that this was changing my appetite or cravings, but once it did, I have no problem resisting the habitual munching. Although my diet changes have helped the amount of food I eat at one time, I don't get the full feeling that a lot of people talk about. So I have to know when to push away from the servings. This was prescribed for weight loss, but I do have sleep apnea as well. I've lost 20 lbs, which matches the estimated 1 lb per week under this med. My goal weight is a 40 lb reduction. The only side effects that I've noticed are primarily increased gas and constipation if I don't push the fluids. So far, it's been a positive experience and I look forward to added results."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I know this med doesn't work for everyone, and some people have some pretty horrific side effects. Luckily, I am one of those people who it DOES work for. In 4 months, went from A1C of 7.5 to 5.0. All of my other regular labs are in normal range. Going off atorvastatin (10 mg for cholesterol) and lisinopril (10 mg for high blood pressure) soon. Also, lost 45 lbs. The only side effect worth mentioning is constipation, but I think I finally have a handle on that (with magnesium supplement). Started on 2.5 mg for 8 shots, 5.0 mg the rest of the time. My biggest problem is supply issues. I have a prescription for 7.5 mg but haven't been able to find any yet. Shortage is supposedly ending, so hopefully that will be resolved soon."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In October 2022, I was pre-diabetic. My daughter had good luck with Mounjaro, so I went to my doctor to ask her if it might work for me. I am a 65-year-old female. I am 5'2" tall and weighed 182 lbs and wear size 16. I started Mounjaro in the middle of October 2022. Today, April 27, 2023, I weigh 122 lbs and wear a size 4. I am now just trying to maintain my weight. The side effect that I experienced was constipation, as I would only have a bowel movement once a week. I rarely experience hunger and have to remind myself to eat. I do not crave sugar or any other food. I started on the 2.5 mg dosage for a couple of months and then went to the 5 mg dosage for two months. I have been on 7.5 mg for the last few months. I stopped my acid reflux medicine last month and have not experienced any acid reflux since I stopped it. I have so much more energy now and feel great. I would highly recommend Mounjaro, it has changed my life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been taking Zepbound 2.5 mg for four weeks - just had my fifth injection last night. Started at 254 lbs. and have lost 18 lbs!! My last weigh-in was 236 lbs.! The only annoying side effect I had was mild constipation. I had no idea what food noise was until it was gone. Wow. Finally understand what it is to be normal. Not sure what my goal weight will be yet, somewhere between 175-150 lbs. I'm in my early 50s and finally confident I'll have sustainable weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started using Zepbound in March 2024, at 2.5 mg. History of Obesity (BMI > 29) and Hypertension. Starting weight was 202 lb. and Blood Pressure Avg. of 153/90. As of today, May 24, 2024, currently on 10mg. My weight is currently 177 lb, having lost 25 lbs (12%) of starting weight. It was easy to learn how to use the injection pen, and it is a painless process. I am also exercising, running 4-5 days per week and weight training 2 days per week. Exercise is an important adjunct to weight loss treatment, and can help maintain muscle mass while losing weight. It is also imperative to eat foods rich in protein and green, leafy vegetables. Side effects have been minimal, with occasional constipation, which is remedied by using Miralax or similar products."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I asked my doctor about starting Wegovy since my efforts weren't working, but she recommended Zepbound - and I am so glad she did! My appetite is no longer controlling me, and yet those pre-diabetic low blood sugar drops are gone. After 3 months at the 5 mg dose, I'm still consistently losing about 1% of my weight each week. The only side effects are minor constipation and heartburn, but they encourage me to drink more water. I was hesitant to start because...needles...but it's so tiny I don't feel it at all. I wish I had started sooner!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Obesity runs on my father's side, and my weight gain has been a lifelong struggle. I did my best, but by reaching 275 lbs at 50 years old, I knew I needed something more than all the traditional weight loss programs. I began taking Mounjaro in Nov 2022. My doctor did a low dose to start (1.5 mg). I experienced the more common side effects: sulfurous belching, heartburn, constipation for a day or two after the weekly injection, stomach feeling sour, etc. I manage these symptoms with my doctor's OTC recommendations. We advanced to a 5.0 mg dose, and I continue to experience these side effects, but they are becoming more manageable. It's the end of April, and I've lost 40 lbs so far. I have more energy, manage my diet better/easier, and make better eating choices. I have just begun to experience hair loss, and after reading the other reviews, I feel better knowing it too will pass. Please know your reviews, including side effects, successes, and thoughts, have been a huge help. ~Thanks"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Life-changing. Down 30 pounds in 5 months. Within a few hours of the first dose, I experienced hunger suppression, increased satiety, and best of all, reduced food noise. I thought about food 24/7 before taking this medication. Despite tracking calories and eating whole foods and eliminating most sugar, I always craved sweet and high-fat foods like ice cream and felt hungry even after a meal. On this medication, I crave veggies and fruit and protein. Side effects: as a woman going through menopause, the hot flashes have been miserable. I also have always had an extreme heat intolerance for hot weather. On this medication, hot flashes are gone and I've enjoyed summer for the first time in my life. Negative side effect: constipation. Easily manageable with Miralax and Benefiber."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 3 weeks (2.5 mg injection), and it has helped me tremendously. I started out at 333 lbs. Now I weigh 319 lbs. I feel full for longer. Just feel tired a lot, but I take vitamins and something for energy, so that has helped. I take stool softeners so I won't get constipated. I had a slight headache for a couple of days when I first started, but not bad. I don't crave snacks, caffeine, or sweets like I used to on a daily basis. If I even overeat a little, I feel miserable, so I have to watch that. Managing your portions is very important. I'm doing better with that now. It doesn't take much for me to eat and drink to be satisfied. My BP has been good. My doctor said I may be able to get off BP meds soon. I am so grateful for this new med. Can't wait to move up to the next dosage."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Maxed out on three oral DM2 meds and three BP meds, 5'4", weighing a miserable 237 lbs, wearing size 18-20, unable to muster energy to exercise. Began the Mounjaro journey in March 2024. Increased Mounjaro dosage each time I reached a plateau with 2-4 lbs stagnant weight loss over 4 weeks. No side effects beyond mild constipation, relieved with prunes and occasional stool softener. Today, on the 2nd month of Mounjaro 15 mg. Current weight 153 (84 lbs gone!), with a goal weight of 140 lbs. Currently wearing size 10, no oral DM2 meds, 2 BP meds at half of initial doses, A1C 5.0. 66 years young today, now mowing and weed-whacking the yard, walking, running up and down stairs, boundless energy. Can't stop smiling. This has been a life-altering experience. Got a new driver's license when I realized I was virtually unrecognizable in the old photo."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication has been life-changing. Started with 2.5 mg and now at 5 mg. A bit of constipation and nausea, but nothing major. I started at 288 lbs and now at 236 lbs. I am a male, 5’11”. I hope I can get to my goal of 190 lbs in a few months. Working out, walking, and avoiding carbs is key. No fried foods or heavy carb meals, or you will pay a price. Lots of protein, lean meats, and veggies/berries. Good luck, everyone."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had no side effects at the 2.5 and 5.0 dosages, but severe bouts of diarrhea and belching occurred soon after the first injection of the 7.5 ml dosage. After consulting with my primary care provider, I kept taking the 7.5 dosage that resulted in nocturnal diarrhea. Therefore, I have decided not to continue with Zepbound. I have only had two injections of the 7.5 ml dosage. Prior to taking Zepbound for weight loss and obstructive sleep apnea, I had taken Wegovy and had no significant side effects other than constipation at the 0.025, 0.050, and 0.075 dosages, but when I tried the 1.0 dosage, I had diarrhea and severe abdominal pain, so I decreased the dosage to 0.05 and lost 36 lbs in 6 months. With Zepbound, I lost 14 more lbs until the severe nocturnal bout of diarrhea. So in total, I went from 246 lbs to 196 lbs, and my need for my CPAP machine was significantly reduced."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 2 months, I'm now on 5 mg, which seems okay, but my biggest issue is drinking enough water or water-based fluids. Yes, constipation has twice been pretty horrible. I started out weighing 95 kg and am now down to 87, which I'm happy with. I don't know if I wish to increase the dosage while it works fine for me at 5 mg. Initially, I had a lot of heartburn at night, but that's passed. I really do make sure I eat small portions, but of quality and a mix of protein and fiber. Breakfast is much nearer lunchtime as I'm just not hungry, but I will eat properly and again in the evening. I don't think I could manage 3 meals a day. I can't exercise as I suffer from peripheral neuropathy, and even walking is a trial. I need to do weight training really, as I'm in my 70s and need strength to face what comes with old age."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It’s been 2 years. Yes, there were challenges. Some nausea. Lot’s of constipation. Some fatigue. And mostly good aversion. I understand fully the phrase eat to live. This medication was/is a game changer for long-time diabetes sufferers. I lost 50 pounds. Got off of insulin shots. Cholesterol meds. BP meds. I am over 60 years old and feel better than I did at 40. I would rate my experience on Mounjaro on a scale from 1-10, a solid 10. Everyone’s journey is unique, based on many different factors. I would rate my journey as successful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks. I had to jump from 5 to 10 mg last week due to shortage issues. I am having several problems with severe bloating, constipation, headache, and stomach pain. I have severe gas that keeps me up most of the night and can be a sign of impending intermittent diarrhea at times. I am always full and started pushing myself to eat as I can go all day with nothing. Now I have small welts and itching at injection sites. Total weight loss: “0.” My blood sugar is higher, especially in the morning. This drug is horrible, and I won’t put my body through it anymore. I can lose weight easier and healthier than this since it ruined my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. I was so excited to try it and had hope. I’m thankful for all those who are benefiting from it. Good luck to all. It just wasn’t for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On week 5 of Zep. Goal to lose 20-25 lbs. Received a 2.5 mg 'loading' dose, I split it into 1.25 doses 3 days apart for the first 2 weeks as I tend to react strongly to meds. I had a bit of anxiety and fatigue on this dose and appetite suppression that waned by week 2, so I increased to 2.5 in one shot for weeks 3 and 4. Less anxiety/fatigue but more nausea and constipation, still manageable. I received a 5 mg dose in the mail at week 4 but had already lost 15 lbs on the 2.5 dose for 4 weeks. Week 5 - I tried the 5 mg. The next day, I was so sick to my stomach and nauseous that I struggled to eat or drink at all. I was dizzy and felt terrible, depressed, and kept getting the long bouts of hiccups. I will be at goal soon and plan to switch to metformin to maintain weight. For me, this med is miraculous, but I do not feel great on it. (For reference - I have a mental health diagnosis and pre-existing mild gastrointestinal issues, MTHFR gene variant)"

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I’ve been using Zepbound to help manage my obstructive sleep apnea. I’ve gradually increased my dosage from 2.5 mg to 5.0 mg, and now 7.5 mg. So far, I’ve lost 20 pounds—about 10% of my body weight—and I feel great. My goal is to continue treatment until I’ve lost 20% of my total body weight. As for side effects, I experienced mild constipation at the beginning and some injection site reactions when I started the 7.5 mg dose, but they only lasted a few days. Overall, this medication has been very effective for me. I’ve even recommended it to my husband to consider starting as well. Zepbound has truly made a positive difference."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation, and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate, and if you escalate and find it too much, you can lower down and only have one day of downtime."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had previously been on Trulicity, and the doctor switched me to Mounjaro since I have so much extra weight on me. He started me on the 5 mg pen since I had already been on Trulicity. I lost minimal weight on Trulicity. Some, but not enough to say it's awesome. The only side effect I've had on Mounjaro is occasional constipation/reflux, which is manageable. Maybe it is because I got past/thru all the nasty side effects while on Trulicity, and that minimized the effects of Mounjaro? I feel bad for all those that have had adverse effects on Mounjaro. I have lost about 10 pounds so far in just over 2 weeks, and I can tell a HUGE difference in my appetite. I mean HUGE. I'm not hungry like I used to be. In fact, this drug curbs my appetite SO much, that I have to force myself to eat sometimes, and in having to do that, it makes me instinctively want to eat more healthy food. This drug has helped with weight loss, and I am excited to see how much I will lose and get my A1C down."
