For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After many years of trying to lose weight only to keep gaining, I finally had enough and decided to start Zepbound last December when I found out my insurance would pay for it. I started on 2.5mg like everyone else and increased the dose monthly. It’s June and I currently take 15mg. I have lost 55 pounds. I consistently lose 2 pounds per week. I had side effects as I titrated up. I no longer have any side effects. I am still losing weight and I have never felt better. I plan to stay on this long term. For Type 2 Diabetes "Started taking 2.5 last Thursday. Day 1, no side effects, day 2, mild nausea, day 3, everything broke loose! Dizzy spells, clammy sweats, severe abdominal pains, and bloating. Ended up in ER and blood pressure was so high I was at stroke level! Readings were 220/123, 187/113, 197/116, 178/112! No issues before medication! Beware, this medication is so new there is no telling how many other side effects it can have! I pray this mess gets out of my system soon!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication saved my life! In the beginning, the nausea was very noticeable but worth every bit! I never really had a problem with my weight until after my pregnancies. I gained over 90 lbs with each of my two pregnancies. Being at over 300 lbs and only 5’1” was a miserable existence. I couldn’t breathe and was exhausted all of the time, not to mention pre-diabetic and very high blood pressure. It has definitely been a journey, but I stand by that this medication saved my life. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am one week in and on the 2.5 dose. I was really afraid to start because I didn’t want to get hypoglycemia, which is something I have dealt with my whole life. (I’m not diabetic and do not take insulin, I think I just have plenty of insulin.) But I did it and am so happy I did! I am down 4 lbs in one week and have had minimal side effects. I am eating much less, and food noise is almost gone. I’m excited to keep on going! For reference, I am a 59-year-old woman, 5’ 4”, and my starting weight was 192. So far, this is like a miracle! "Started taking specifically for weight loss. Starting weight on Aug 1 was 192 lbs and did the 2.5mg for a month. Weight on Aug 30 was 176 lbs! Only side effect was the WORST dry mouth - whoa! Not expecting that but it went away. It completely took away constant thoughts of eating and cravings. Weight loss was effortless. Started 5mg - 2nd week had a lot more nausea - felt like pregnancy nausea. If I was busy, I wouldn't think about it but if I thought about eating or smelled food - no thank you! It was the most intense the day after I did my shot and for the next 2 days or so. Weight after 2 months - 162.6 lbs! I'm on week 7 of 5mg and the nausea is basically gone. For Type 2 Diabetes "I currently have renal failure. I needed a kidney and pancreas. I was on the list for both. I did all my workups, even a triple bypass. My doctor put me on Mounjaro because of my heart surgery and diabetes. The Mounjaro worked so well it fixed my pancreas, and now I’m just on the list for a kidney. The side effects of using it were a little diarrhea and weight loss. I was 300-plus pounds, now I am under 160. Plus, I am no longer needing insulin for my diabetes. It’s practically gone."

I have been on the diet and workout train for the last 24 years, but nothing worked to lose a significant amount of weight. I did take one medication that worked temporarily years ago but left me feeling like trash, and once I was finished, the weight came back and then some. I was nauseous, fatigued, and dizzy for 3-4 days after taking my shot. However, on the Zepbound, I have no side effects other than slight pain at the injection site for 2-3 minutes after I take my shot. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 53-year-old male and my weight has gone up slowly with each passing year, so the ladies at my doctor's office were telling me how they all were losing weight by taking the Mounjaro shots. I was a little bit worried at first because of the thought of having to give myself a shot. I barely felt it, so I started out on the 2.5 shots, and the only side effect I got was the burping sulfur taste. This is the absolute best thing I could have done, it's lowered my blood pressure, and I'm off the meds for that. I sleep better and feel healthier, the only bad thing is my clothes don't fit. I'm feeling better about myself. I'm now on the 10mgs, but each month I went up to a stronger dose, but I'm going to stay with the 10s as a maintenance shot. For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Mounjaro for weight loss. I took my first 2.5mg dose on Friday, 9/16. Today is Sunday, two days later, and I have yet to feel anything different. I don’t feel full, and there’s no lack of desire to eat. I feel the same as I always have. I wonder if I did the shot right. I don’t know, maybe it takes a moment to kick in. I see people saying they lost weight in the first week, I’m not sure how that’s possible if I don’t have appetite suppression. I guess time will tell."

I experienced some mild hair loss (but started this in menopause, so that contributed to hair loss as well), increased heart rate, although mine was low to start, some burping, and tiredness. The worst side effect for me is the diarrhea. I have it starting about 24-48 hrs after injection. It lasts on and off for about 3 days. Overall, these side effects have been mild and manageable. "I started Mounjaro on July 1, 2022. I just turned 74 and was at the end of my rope with my obesity. I immediately developed a sour stomach/nausea and heartburn. But the wonderful side effect of having no appetite and not obsessing about food EVERY WAKING MOMENT was worth it. I still enjoy food, just eat less than half what I used to and no snacking. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. I take one more injection (totally painless and easy to give) of 7.5 mg and then move up to 10 mg. My worst problem is terrible constipation. I’m working on it by using Colace, etc. but haven’t solved it completely. Since I’m on Medicare, I am paying THOUSANDS of dollars for this drug. So my savings account is decreasing but so is my weight. If I can afford it, I hope to stay on Mounjaro for one year. I still go to Weight Watchers and live by their eating plan which is very healthy."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Second week, as of yesterday, no side effects other than not sleeping well the first couple of nights after injecting. I’ve lost close to 5 lbs in the first week. I’ve been reading that if you experience insomnia it is because of the rapid weight loss and to try and change the time of injection. I did it at 6 PM both last Tuesday and yesterday, next Tuesday I’m doing it in the morning. The key for me if not having the side effects that many people experience is that I have been eating clean before starting the medication and continue to eat clean as well as having a high-protein meal 45 minutes to an hour prior to injection. We’ll see how it goes next week when I inject in the morning instead of the evening."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am just starting this process. It has been 2 1/2 weeks on 2.5 ml. I have lost 9 lbs. I'm 55 years old, 5'7", 182 starting weight. Menopause kicked my butt, I could never lose more than 5 lbs. Negative side effects: headaches (which I've been prone to or sensitive to in the past), sometimes several times a day. I had mild diarrhea the first week and am now one week in with constipation. Mounjaro seemed to reduce my internal stomach size enormously. I don't have to remind myself to eat, like other people have said, but my body is on a delay and feels full 90 percent of the time - like I don't wake up ready for breakfast, it takes two hours to want to eat. What I do eat is a fraction of what I used to eat. For example, a small soup is plenty for lunch, yogurt for breakfast. It's definitely working for me, very happy. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Zepbound for 8 months. I am on the highest dosage and 6 pounds away from my goal weight. I have lost 65 pounds. I do get nauseous around the 2nd or 3rd day after my injection, but it has not resulted in throwing up. I really don’t have much of an appetite. When I do eat, I’m not eating nutritional food as much as I should. This has resulted in muscle loss. I recently started eating more protein. I would recommend it, but just know what to expect, read over all the possible side effects and just be careful and be very truthful about how it makes you feel and what it does. Zepbound really has changed my life. I started Zepbound shortly after I was laid off from a job. I was there for 24 years, three months later my two littermates that were 16 years old went to the rainbow bridge. Had it not been for my weight loss, I would be a mess. "Started with 2.5, been on it nearly three weeks, anticipated side effects but other than mild constipation, I experienced none. My appetite was nonexistent, had to remember to eat. Night eating gone, overeating gone, strong cravings gone. Injection easy peasy. Coupon only way I could afford this med (25/mo versus over 1k/mo). No feeling weird like stimulants, just pretty normal. I'm pairing with intermittent fasting per my GP and trying to incorporate intuitive eating as much as possible. I am not counting calories or weighing myself but I am likely down 5-10# in 2 weeks combo of water weight and loss. Bloat gone, body feels good, excited to see if this keeps working this well."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I originally started the Zepbound shot at the end of this past January. I weighed a total of 202 lbs when I started it. That would be about 3-4 months ago. I was very self-conscious, I didn't want to take any pictures of myself, I felt disgusted by myself, I always brought myself down, etc. But now, now I weigh 154 lbs. I'm at the 10 mg of the Zepbound. I started off as the lowest and I'm still not at the highest, to be honest. I lost about 50 pounds in the last 4 months! For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro 2.5 mg on September 6th, weighing in at 128 kilos. I'm now on my 7th shot of 10 mg (as I stayed on 10 mg for another month over Christmas) and I weigh 106 kilos in January. This is without changing my lifestyle of exercise or food. I eat smaller portions and don't think about food half as much as I used to. It's been great up until my 6th shot of 10 mg. I would experience mild side effects of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sulfur burps. These tended to be spread across the board as well though, never all at the same time, and it was manageable. However, my 6th dose I felt instantly! I was nauseous for 3 days straight, vomiting, diarrhea, sulfur burps, tired, the list is endless. I was so worn out by the nausea, I couldn't sleep, eat, or drink. I took myself to the walk-in center at the hospital where they referred me straight to A&E for having a resting heart rate of 128 bpm. I was put on an IV drip, bloods taken. I felt awful and still do! Going to go back to 7.5 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m a 6’4", 275-pound male, 62 years old - no diabetes or health issues, on no other meds. Obtained prescription via Dr. and took the first 2.5 mg injection on Dec. 24. Lost 10 pounds with the first 3 shots, then Dr. said I could go to 5 mg (saved the last 2.5 mg pen for future use) because weight loss had stopped. After starting 5 mg, lost 2 pounds in 2 days - so combined weight loss using 2.5/5 mg is now at 12 pounds in six weeks! No significant or terrible side effects except some constipation, intermittent fatigue, and minor chills at times (not a lot - could just be the cold weather). I've yo-yoed up and down with weight for years. Because of my size, I can eat a lot of food - but this drug has significantly reduced my appetite, and I have more energy overall. I can’t wait to see the results in a few more months. Zepbound has so far been perfect for me.
