For Hashimoto's disease "I just started this medication today after being on actual Armour thyroid for almost a year. This medication is given me a horrible headache and calf cramps and stomach issues and pain. I feel like absolute garbage after finally getting my tsh level at a prime level. This stuff is terrible and the smell is absolutely horrible. Nobody asked me if I wanted the cheaper brand! Obviously paying armour pricing is expensive but I would absolutely keep paying if it meant I don't feel like I do right now. This is so wrong and its all about quantity and NOT quality. It's a money game!"

For Underactive Thyroid "NP Thyroid was prescribed for me for the first time, so I have no other meds to compare to. The first 4 days, energy, positive weight loss. 2 weeks my hair feeling dry & breaking. Shortly after this, hair is falling out from the root in GREAT amounts! I have fine hair and really cannot lose anymore. My doctor said to cut my 30mg dose in half. This didn’t help, my hair continued falling out. Finally she said to go off completely. I was on this for one month, 5 days. After going off, I got weepy, depressed, and felt worse than before I started. It’s been 15 days since stopping the NP, and my hair isn’t falling out as much. I’m not feeling as weepy anymore. I have some weird dry bumps on my scalp that just started since this med and I have a dermatology appointment for that next. The pills smell like urine. I thought that was normal as well. I am going to be very apprehensive about trying another medication. But for now still dealing with the after effects of this horrible medication."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I've been taking NP Thyroid for the last 6 months and am completely happy with it. It reminds me of what Naturethroid was when I was taking it after getting off Synthroid following a thyroidectomy. Prior to NP I was given the generic version of NP which is Levothyroxine/Liothyronine and felt terrible on it..it reminded me of Synthroid. They were both terrible, the generic version of NP and Synthroid both make my hands and legs swell up, I gained weight on both. If you are on the generic version of NP then you are NOT taking NP by Acella. I was also on Naturethroid after getting off Synthroid and did great on it, even lost half the weight I gained while on Synthroid and felt 100% better within just months of being on it and then a shortage occured and thats when I had to switch over to NP. I definitely feel as good as I did when I was on Naturethroid."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Walmart pharmacy substituted NP for Armour thyroid. It makes me very depressed, sleepless and fatigue. It makes me angry because they did this without my permission after I told them before that I didn’t want NP because of the same issues before. I would avoid NP!!!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "After several successful years of taking Nature Throid, the supplier made a recall and as a result I was switched to NP Thyroid. It smells like cat urine, and I am not sure how consistent the dosing is from pill to pill. I feel pretty inconsistent from week to week on it. I have gone through approx 90 day on it and would very much like to return to Nature Throid."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have taken both the generic and Synthroid for 10 years, trying desperately to stop the hair loss. Three months ago my endocrinologist switched me to NP and within 3 weeks my hair stopped falling out. I do still have very dry skin, but otherwise I feel good."

For Underactive Thyroid "Started taking NP Thyroid in July as per dr's prescription due to a slightly low reading on blood test. I've been on bioidentical hormone replacement for about a year and have regular labs to check levels. First week I was extremely irritable. Since then, my skin is very itchy and have areas on my shoulders, forearms and shins where bumps/skin eruptions have appeared that are hyper-itchy. Plus I'm hot all the time. I teach exercise classes and of course I get hot and sweat but since I started on this medication I sweat profusely. Plus I live in the southeast and with the sweltering heat we've had for the past 3 months it's been almost intolerable. And like others have said in these reviews the stuff stinks! I'm calling the dr today to get instructions on how to come off this poison."

For Hashimoto's disease "WORST MEDICATION EVER! Before this I was on levothyroxine for 4 years and a new doctor I was seeing switched me to NP. A month in I was extremely dizzy to where I couldn’t do normal day-to-day things and was scared of standing in public places because I felt like I was going to fall. I ended up quitting the NP thyroid after 4 months of dealing with this, and a month after quitting I am almost 100% back to normal."

For Underactive Thyroid "Had been taking 120mg of Armour Thyroid for years when price shot up. I looked for alternative and was on Nature-Thyroid and had no problems when suddenly it disappeared for the market. I went back to Armour but was sick of the price gouging and found NP Thyroid. I have been on it for a month now and have been an utter mess. First week was fine, but then a sudden drop in general well being. I cannot focus, constant fatigue, grogginess, barely able to function, balance is off... just generally horrible. Thankfully I am able to get Nature-Thyroid again and am waiting for the new prescription to arrive. Once it does NP is going in the trash. Avoid... avoid... avoid!!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "New batch has a horrible horrible cat litter smell, thicker pills and speckles on it! Different formula for sure especially after consuming it my thyroid is super swollen and I’m having body aches, something I get when I eat dairy or food I am not suppose to! This is unacceptable. I tried reaching out my phone and email to Acella and no answer! We want answers now!!!! This is harming us patients with this auto immune disorder. If you want your moneys worth, give us something worthy, please we’re begging you we need this medication to stay alive and in good shape for the sake of our family and jobs!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I have noticed a change in health within 2 weeks of a change in taste on the Batch of NP Thyroid I received. It changed on October 2019. It appears a sweetener and something else added to the pills. More fillers and less medicine. I even enquired at the pharmacy that I got it from if there was an ingredient change. They checked the computer and said no. I haven’t felt well since the change."

For Underactive Thyroid "I’m a 35 yo male that’s been through the wringer figuring this thyroid stuff out and I’ve taken everything. From T4 and T3 from Latin America and Asia to all the known ones from the USA based labs. I have to say, I take np thyroid 90 in the morning and not going to lie, I feel amazing. It definitely works and as all of you out there who know how it feels when it’s not working right, I can say once you have the right dose np thyroid is the best, I take it sublingually and it tastes amazing! I take that plus intermittent fasting and on and off ketogenic diet and my life has changed for the better. Love np thyroid wanted to let y’all know the stuff is good! Just figure out the right dose diet and lifestyle and you’re set! Don’t give up it’s been rough for me but I think I’ve finally figured it out. Much love all"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I kept feeling bloated at the top part of my tummy. I had heart palpitations then realized that they changed my medication from Armour Thyroid to NP thyroid. I actually just stopped taking it. I know I probably shouldn't but with Covid 19 and no doctors app. in sight, I just wanted to feel better and I do! I thought I'd start taking Armour again and called the doctors office and much to my surprise they called it in. I checked online with the pharmacy and it's NP Thyroid! Omg are you kidding me? I have to call the pharmacy tomorrow and see about changing to Armour again. Geeesh! I used to take NP fine until several months ago."

For Hashimoto's disease "Was on armour thyroid for years. I needed to increase my dose last year and was given NP thyroid as supplement. I became regulated by December 2019. By March 2020 I was hypo again I went in and my dr couldn't believe I had fallen so fast. He is struggling to let me use NDT because he believes in levothyroxine. I increased the dose, 4 weeks later I was almost comatose so I called to raise again. Only mildly better, but still hypo. I talked to the admin of thyroid Facebook page who said stick to armour only! NP was reformulated in Sept 2019 and the company wont admit to it but many have fallen hypo since!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Armour thyroid as was doing, ok. Not great but certainly better than when I was on synthroid. Then my pharmacy changed my prescription to NP thyroid from ACE with out telling me and I have been horribly sick to my stomach, head aches, exhausted, confused and foggy brained. No medicine is worth this."

For Underactive Thyroid "I started taking NP Thyroid April of 2021, so a little over 7 months... I have gotten married and all in this time being on the new med. I literally felt like I was dying with the amount of panic and anxiety attacks I was having, not feeling myself, brain fog, feeling doomed, exhausted, overwhelmed and overall just off. Instead of checking on the thyroid medication because I have taken a few different kinds since I was 11 years when I was originally diagnosed (I’m 35 now) and never having any side effects, I completely regret it. I literally thought I was losing my mind.. the waves of emotions along with the ups and downs, just brutal. I had complete loss of my sex drive along with any feelings at all. I thought that it was stress from work and my wedding, thought I had a mental breakdown, I went as far as therapist to a psychiatrist trying multiple medications trying to fix this. I stopped taking the NP THYROID and the rest a few days ago, feeling better and better every day!"

For Hashimoto's disease "After a 3 years of a hellish ordeal with Synthroid, I decided to quit thyroid hormone replacement. Synthroid was literally killing me. The worst I've ever felt. 6 months after stopping Synthroid, I was "allowed" to take NDT. I took Armour for over a year, and while it worked great to suppress TSH, I still had hypo symptoms. After 15 months on Armour, I was accidentally dispensed NP Thyroid without knowing what it was. After I verified it to be an NDT, I took it. After 2 months on NP, I didn't feel perfect, but noticed the sweating was gone and constipation resolved. After 4 months, everything going well, pharmacy corrected their "mistake" and gave me Armour. Back to the constipation/sweating. I had to fight to get back NP. Five months, no excessive sweating or constipation, and I'm dreaming again (yay 4 REM) and taking less naps in the P.M., like I used to do as if my life depends on it. I recommend you try NP Thyroid if you have T4-to-T3 conversion issues. I wish you the best and I hope you regain your life."

For Hashimoto's disease "Switched from Levothyroxine to NP Thyroid in Aug 2017 and have been very happy with response - finally feeling a bit normal and lost some weight. But this last refill the smell and taste is AWFUL!! Like others have reported, I called Acella and got the standard answer that it can very from batch to batch - but I’ve been on it for 2 years and it’s never been like this! Hope they get it straightened out soon!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "A year ago, this month, I was suddenly finding it difficult to get NP Thyroid 30mg. I started getting it easier through a different pharmacy. In October, I noticed a lot of little purple spots on the back of my hands. I’ve continued getting them here and there on my arms and hands. As well, I had strong heart palpitations that would sometimes make me feel faint. I had my heart checked out twice, but nothing explained the palpitations. Add to all that, I noticed my upper abdomen was feeling bloated. I was also feeling tired and anxious. Something wasn’t right. A few nights ago, something made me decide to research NP Thyroid medication and I was shocked to see some of the side effects people were having. I quit taking it and already, no more little purple spots!!! After a year of seeing them pop up here and there on my arms and hands - gone. I’m wondering if I have damaged my health taking it for a year. Don’t take this medicine!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I don't understand these poor reviews. Sounds to me that the prescribing physician is more likely the problem. In a lot of these reviews, sounds to me like over prescribing issues and I'm not even a doctor myself. I've been on NP thyroid so several years after armour thyroid became ridiculously expensive and occasionally unavailable. My TSH levels have been right on target and I experience no side effects or symptoms described in many of these reviews."

First couple of days I was ok, on day 4 I start having extremely High Blood pressure, barely able to walk and had a migraine headache. Called my doctor and lower my dose to 30 mg.
