For Osteoarthritis "Got my injection July 29th, 2021... I've always been able to walk off the pain of my injections. Not this one, right away the pain kicked in super bad at night. I waited a few days, every night the same throbbing, itching, and tingling. Not to mention the sore I got on my injection spot. I don't recommend this shot to anyone. I've had so many side effects and my knees are more painful than before I came. Muscle weakness, dizziness, weight loss, migraines, and numbness in legs and feet. Poor blood circulation... stay away from this shot... just say NO."

For Osteoarthritis "This is 19 days since I had a Durolane injection, one dose to my left ankle. The terrible pain started and never left. I have been icing it and taking Tylenol every 4 hours, up to four times a day. I am totally crippled for the last 19 days, and God knows how long more. I just hope this is not a permanent disability :( If I could rate it negative, I would rate it negative. Please don't let anyone inject you with Durolane!"

For Osteoarthritis "I waited too long to have my knees injected. My X-rays showed bone on bone in both knees. This was the first time that I tried the injections. The right knee went smoothly. The left knee was slightly uncomfortable. The cold spray was very effective. I experienced some side effects of stiffness, increased pain, and dizziness, but it was tolerable and diminished a bit each day. Thankful that it is working."

For Osteoarthritis "I have bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in my left knee. I have, over the past five or so years, had five or six Synvisc injections. They have worked well for me, lasting for six or eight months. The injections are fairly painless, with only the sensation of fullness in my knee for a day or so, no pain. I was given my first Durolane injection three days ago. It is the most painful injection I have ever had. It hurt like anything. I am three days out and still cannot bend my knee fully. The swelling and the redness have improved, but I still have a moderate amount of discomfort. I will NEVER put myself through this again. I will stick with Synvisc, even if it means a decreased injection interval."

For Osteoarthritis "I wish that I would’ve found this before my injection of Durolane. I had the injection on a Wednesday, and now it’s Monday. I have been in excruciating pain since. My Dr. said I would be sore for a few days and would be able to resume normal activities. I haven’t been able to do anything! They told me today when I called crying that it’s normal to give it a week. I’m not sure that I want him to do my knee replacement. This is just too much for me. I’m a busy person and feel terrible."

For Osteoarthritis "I am 52 years old. For the last four years, unable to walk around Walmart without a cart. I couldn’t enjoy amusement parks or water parks with my grandkids. My doctor recommended the Durolane injection for both my knees. I wouldn’t wish the injection on my worst enemy. I walked into the doctor's office and had to walk out holding onto a wheelchair. It’s been several days, and both knees are in more pain than ever. I do not recommend the injection. I took the injection to avoid knee replacement because I was told I was too young, which was fine because I’m terrified of an ear replacement surgery, and now I can’t walk, which makes me terrified to."

For Osteoarthritis "Had the Durolane injection in my knee early this week. The injection did not hurt, just felt pressure in the knee, and it was over very quickly. When I went to stand up, it was a little painful, but mostly from the full feeling in the knee. Now, three days later, my knee feels so much better, and I am very thankful I listened to my doctor and went ahead with the injection. Almost let some of the reviews scare me away, so thankful I did not. Will see how much time this injection buys me and may decide in six months to get another injection before going ahead with a knee replacement. I am very pleased with the results of the Durolane injection so far."

For Osteoarthritis "To start with, my knee osteoarthritis pain is always fluctuating, like the tide coming in and going out, so this needs to be considered. Eight months ago, I had my first injection, the next three weeks were the worst pain I have had, totally disabling. By week four, I had an improvement, and for the next five months, I had a long period of very noticeable improvement to the point I was not considering a replacement anymore. Around month seven, I crashed, and my knee has never been this bad before. Yesterday (11 months later), I got my second injection and am hoping for the same relief for a few months to prolong surgery."

For Osteoarthritis "After a horrible motorcycle accident and damaging my knee, I am going in for my fourth dose tomorrow in my right knee. The main key is to rest your knee for three days, ice pack it, and take paracetamol. I have been pain-free with this treatment, but I can tell when it's due, usually get around 5 months out of one treatment. Highly recommend it."

For Osteoarthritis "My Durolane injection was now 3 weeks ago. I had it in my right knee for osteoarthritis. I would take the pain before having the injection and discomfort any day over this. Pain is still terrible. Days one and two were off-the-charts painful. Now about a 5-6. Still limited mobility. No way you could work after this injection. I did get back in to see my orthopedic, and he said I would just have to “ride it out.” I asked, what’s an estimate? He didn’t have an answer. This is such a bad drug - do not do it. Never going back to this doctor - he really didn’t seem to care. Just shocking to go through this much pain and barely able to get around my house. I haven’t been able to even walk to the mailbox or get groceries. This has been a never-ending nightmare. I feel for others who have had the same reaction. Once the pain is gone, I will update. I see another doctor next week to try and get some kind of relief."

For Osteoarthritis "I have arthritis in my right knee and have extreme pain after the injection of Durolane on 12/3/21. It is now March, and I can’t walk well at all. My knee is swollen, and the pain is unbelievable. My orthopedic MD has no answers for me, he pulled 30 cc of fluid from my knee and said there is nothing he can do! So I went to another MD, and he said I have bone on bone in my knee. I am scheduled for a total knee in June. Please research this injection before you get it. Not a good choice at all."

For Osteoarthritis "I received a Durolane injection into my left knee on 9/9/21, and my knee is worse than before. The injection site still hurts, and it is now 10/3/21. I used to receive Synvisc 1, and this new doctor assured me Durolane is better than Synvisc. After I complained to this doctor, he started recommending steroid shots, PRP, which I already had done and did not work. I am in horrible pain, cannot put weight on my leg, can barely climb stairs."

For Osteoarthritis "I have bone spurs in my right knee, and I just got promoted at work, so knee replacement is out of the question for now. I got the Durolane injection about 36 hours ago and went to PT today, which hurt, but I had to get the knee moving. Feeling better than it had been, and no pain at night, but tomorrow will be the real test at work and after work when I lie down."

For Osteoarthritis "This injection by a PA was incredibly painful. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. I had to be helped out to the waiting room since I could not walk with the pain. My knee was swollen three times the size before the injection. Could not sleep in bed...had to sleep in a recliner. The doctor's office just kept saying to take a pain reliever and use ice. I suffered for six days like this, and then my original pain returned. I would never recommend this stuff to my worst enemy."

For Osteoarthritis "I had the shot in a moderately painful knee 5 days ago. It is now so stiff and painful I can barely walk, and only with a cane, in my house. I am very disappointed, and my orthopedist is not proactive about it."

For Osteoarthritis "Just received the shot in my right knee on 11/7/22. When the initial shot was given, there was no pain or discomfort, but I did notice, while driving home, a little bit of tightness in the joint. No major issues for the rest of the day. Overnight, had some discomfort, and once up and moving, very sore and hard to stand on it, but sitting is no issue. Was told to take it easy for 2 days to let it sit in, and will follow up on this review in a few days."

For Osteoarthritis "It has been 4 weeks since my left knee was injected with Durolane and 2 weeks since my right knee was done. I am so much worse off than before I had the injections. I can barely walk with the pain. Previously, I could get around, but now I am mostly housebound. I wish I had never had this done. I feel like an invalid."

For Osteoarthritis "June 1 got a Durolane shot in both knees. Five days later, right foot swelled, no pain. Eighteen days later, knees were very painful, couldn't even walk! Went to doctor, said I have a blood clot in right leg. Now on a blood thinner. Will be getting a knee ablation 8/19, pray to God this helps and I can walk again."

For Osteoarthritis "I’ve had two Durolane injections in my left knee. I had a TKR on the right side and wanted to try to avoid doing the left side for as long as possible. I have had a positive experience with both injections, and I will be getting another one next week. I’m 69 and a former college football player, power lifter, and I’m still very active (aerial yoga, weightlifting, mountain biking, backcountry snowmobile riding, etc.). My experience with Durolane has been positive. It hurts when they inject it, and I’m sore for a day or two, but the pain isn’t bad at all for me. I’m pretty amazed that so many people have had a bad experience. For me, it is light years better than going through another TKR. I know that I will eventually have to get the TKR, but Durolane is buying me time before going through that experience again. TKR rehab is a long-term pain in the rear!"

For Osteoarthritis "2021-12-14 - received an injection to the right knee. 2022-01-09 - I found my pain to be worse after the injection. Unless things improve, I would not recommend this treatment. Very disappointed to date. 0 rating out of 10. Should things change to the positive, I will update this site."

For Osteoarthritis "I got a Durolane injection in both knees. When the anesthetic wore off, I endured the worst pain, like sharp knives in burning, hot knees. Very sharp pain that the Voltaren didn't help at all. I couldn't walk at all; getting up and down was excruciating. This unbearable pain lasted 2 weeks; it's been a month now, and I am still in pain. I wish I had read these reviews. The only thing left to do is double knee replacement surgery with no painkillers. The third alternative is a permanent wheelchair."

For Osteoarthritis "Seriously, the worst pain you will probably ever experience, and this is coming from someone who used to fight professionally and has had 8 different surgeries. The pain is best described as sharp nerve pain, and Panadol is needed to sleep for the first 7 days. Before getting it, I was able to walk with a slight limp, and the limp got worse over an hour of walking, not that painful though. Here's my experience so far (I was told by the doctor I will be 'slightly uncomfortable' for 48 hours)... Day 1: Got the injection in my hip and was fine until nighttime, which the pain started to kick in. Day 2-3: Extremely painful entire leg (even the knee was very swollen), unable to walk, moving leg slightly caused severe nerve pain, could not straighten leg in bed. Day 4-6: Began to slowly walk around but still painful. Day 7: Feel much better but still walk up steps one leg+step at a time, still a little painful at times. Will keep you posted. Will seek alternatives even if this drug does work."

"I had the Durolane injection in my knee over a month ago for a torn meniscus, and the pain is worse. It throbs on the inner side of my knee all the time. It hurts more when I first get up and at bedtime when I am trying to sleep. I wish I would have never gotten this injection! People need to know Durolane is making people worse off than they were. This was the drug my insurance would cover. Now they will be paying out more for all the new appointments and PT I will need!"

For Osteoarthritis "I had an injection of Durolane in my groin for hip osteoarthritis on Nov. 4, 2021. After the freezing spray wore off, I was in a lot of pain. This pain lasted for 10 days. I wanted to cut my leg off. I could only lift my leg about an inch off the floor. Pain was going down to my knee on the groin side as well as the hip side. I could only stand still for about 3 minutes, and walking a hallway was difficult. Resting in my Lazy Boy was the only relief. I applied ice and heat. Nothing worked. I took ibuprofen every 6 hours. On the 10th day post-injection, when I awoke, I realized that the pain was almost gone. I was having some comfort, like a dull ache. Day 12, no pain at all. I can walk without a limp and can lift my leg. I still have a tight IT band, which I have started doing my exercises again. I really hope this lasts, as for now, I am happy."
