For Osteoarthritis "It's been a month since an injection in my left hip. The first three days were very uncomfortable, indeed painful. But things have been getting better and better. It won't give someone a new hip and there is still some pain, especially after exercise. But if you have realistic expectations, it can help. It helped me greatly to the point that I can use the stairs and get up from my chair with much less pain. I don't have my 20-year-old hip back, but the pain is far less than before the injection. I went for a walk today for half an hour. I felt a pulling in my hips, but I wasn't limping along like I used to, especially at the end of the walk. Very happy with the results."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had two arthroscopies, one in each knee. Neither of them helped with knee pain, only locking. Six months after that, I had a non-guided cortisone injection in each knee that really hurt when having them, not numbing of the area and quite roughly done by a Greek doctor, but they helped immensely, and I was able to walk with little pain for about three months, then back to normal with the pain. Then I was supposed to have another two cortisone injections, but the doctor said he thinks I should have the hyaluronic acid injections (Durolane), so he administered these, one in each knee, un-guided, but he seemed to know where to put them. They both hurt, but not as much as the cortisone ones did. This is the second day after having them now, and my knees hurt slightly more than they did. The left one, which is the better knee, is the worst at the moment and gave me a restless night's sleep. I will update this post in a week to let you know how it’s going in a week."

For Osteoarthritis "I am surprised to see so many negative reviews about Durolane. I had the injection in my left knee, which has early stage osteoporosis, not severe but enough to prevent me from running, a lifelong passion. I experienced only 20 seconds of pain during the injection and now, just three days later, I've had no real pain at all, minor swelling, good mobility. Still far too early to say whether it has made a difference, but I just wanted to post this to let people know I did not find the procedure too painful, unlike the experience of many others. Perhaps I have a high pain threshold or my osteo condition is not severe enough to lead to great discomfort. For now, I'll give it a 5 out of 10 as I don't yet know whether it worked, but at least it was a tolerable procedure. I did ask my surgeon to prescribe antibiotics, as she said infection can lead to long-term problems, so I thought that would be a good precaution, and she was happy to prescribe them to mitigate that remote risk."

For Osteoarthritis "The first time I received it on April 9, 2021, my knee felt very tight and had a lot of pain for the first 24 hours. Then my knee started to feel better. It continued to get better for the next few weeks until it felt great. It lasted for about 5 months before I needed a second dose. I had expected it to last for about a year. The second shot on Oct 29, 2021, didn't do as much. It took almost 5 weeks to fully kick in, no pain after the injection. It worked well, but for only a little over 3 months, and began to wear off. I am waiting to get my 3rd dose on April 20, 2022."

For Osteoarthritis "Had Durolane injected into my left knee on June 1, 2022, by my orthopedist. I had read about the product as an alternative to steroid injection. It should be noted I had never had either product injected. While the injection itself was painful, within about 5-7 days or so, it began to feel better. I could even go down stairs with less pain. Realize not everyone has a positive resolution to pain products, but in my case, it has helped me. At 74, I am most grateful. An area not discussed in these posts is weight loss. I am now at about 215 lb, up from 185 lb a few years ago. I liken this to carrying a 24 pack of 16 oz (about 25 lbs). Weight loss certainly alleviates joint pain. Of course, easier said than done. I'm guessing many of you may have tried shedding lbs. At 74, I know the struggle. I am fortunate in that I have a terrific orthopedist! Oh my, can't say enough about her!!!"

For Osteoarthritis "I got Durolane injection 4 days ago. It was so painful administering. I was fine for the first 2 days, but now my pain is back, just like when I started. I would not recommend to be honest. Additionally, I was told it would only cost me $7.90 for the script, being a pensioner. Now I'm reading I'm going to be billed hundreds of dollars. Won't be getting it again. Not worth it."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Durolane injection one day ago. I had cartilage removal 50 years ago at 18 years old in my right knee after a car accident, so have pretty much been bone on bone since then. Over the last year, the pain has been affecting my quality of life, and I was considering a knee replacement. Unfortunately, I fractured my right ankle four months ago and was in a hard cast for two months and then two months in a walking cast. The extra stress exacerbated the pain in my knee, and I asked my orthopedic surgeon about getting a gel injection. I decided on Durolane as it was one dose. My surgeon did not advise me of any possible adverse effects. I paid $600 and had the injection. The injection went smoothly, no pain. In the middle of the night, I woke up to pain and swelling in my knee and back of my leg. I took a Tylenol and went back to sleep. This morning, I have fairly strong pain and am limping badly. I took ibuprofen and am now elevating and icing my leg. Will update pros or cons later."

For Osteoarthritis "I left a review a few weeks ago after my 1-week experience and wanted to come back a few weeks later to provide an update. It took me 1 month to feel the full effects of Durolane, and even though the first 2 weeks were really painful, on the 30th day I did feel significantly better. It's not perfect, and I still can't walk for more than 1 hour, but day-to-day activities I have no pain and can even walk up 2 steps at a time, which was painful before. I do feel the gel in my hip, and sometimes it's annoying/hard depending on how I sit. In conclusion, I am going to try to find an alternative treatment for my severe hip osteoarthritis because the first 10 days after Durolane I pretty much can't do anything due to the pain, but if there isn't another treatment, then I will get this again."

For Osteoarthritis "The first few weeks after having this Durolane injection, I felt fantastic. I was traveling around and being active, and I got it on November 8th. But after my birthday near the end of November, the pain caught up. After my doctor visit, he said it should feel much better around the 6-8 week mark, which would have started two days ago, and I feel it's getting worse and worse. This was great at the beginning, but I feel worse now, and it's very difficult to move around now, especially to stand up and move around."

For Osteoarthritis "Had Durolane in both knees 5 days ago. Right now, the pain is much worse than before the shots. I am hoping the pain will improve with some time. I had Synvisc in the past, and it really helped."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had knee pain for a while. And previously had 3 series of Synvisc injections, which lasted 4-6 months. I am now 1 week out from my first Durolane injection, and the left knee is much more painful, radiating pain from hip to knee and knee to ankle. Should have read the reviews first. Very difficult walking and getting around, hoping it will get better. No more Durolane. ☺️"
