For Anxiety and Stress "Myself 24, had been a victim of constant anxiety, stress, and OCD from my teens. Had Fluoxetine and Escitalopram before, but they caused terrible side effects like panic attacks in the middle of the night, zombie feeling, and terrible headaches. But recently, due to some of the stressful events in my life, my anxiety, stress, and OCD came back stronger. I couldn't sleep a whole night and would constantly have negative thoughts in my head, overthinking. I again decided to consult a different psychiatrist, and he prescribed me sertraline, 50 mg for 6 days and 100 mg further. Currently, now I am on the 15th day of taking sertraline. The two weeks were terrible, I had terrible headaches, nausea, two days of brain fog, and some extreme agitation. But on the 15th day, I am seeing some benefits compared to what I was 15 days before. Mind a bit calmer, negative thoughts come, but they don't overpower, reduced stress feeling, also better sleep. Will follow up with my psychiatrist in the next few days, will update you guys."

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "I am 6 days into Sertraline 50mg for panic disorder and want to reassure anyone who is terrified of starting this drug because they've read about all the terrible side effects, just as I was. I am a 23-year-old female suffering from this for 8 years. Various therapies have helped but I keep relapsing. Last week I gave in and spoke to my Dr about meds. The first night I panicked because I was so scared of the side effects, which turned out to be mild at worst. Insomnia the first night, day 2 mild headache + slight diarrhea, and slight nausea on day 3+4, also loss of appetite. Overall, it felt like a mild hangover. I have felt slight anxiety at times, but it subsides quickly and doesn't develop. I'm feeling calmer already not even a week in!"

For Anxiety and Stress "So I have today been on Sertraline for 2 weeks and before this the panic attacks and anxiety were horrific. I was barely leaving the house for fear of a panic attack. I started having anxiety and panic attacks nearly 2 years ago after a bad food poisoning experience that left me in hospital multiple times. I had tried to ‘fix’ myself the natural way with vitamins and minerals and CBT but none of this worked, and I had always been very anti-medication for myself. The turning point came a few weeks ago when I realized I needed help, thankfully I knew a few people who were on Sertraline who said do it! It'll change your life... well, they were right! Within 5 days, I felt significantly calmer. I have managed to go out for dinner with family and go shopping. I have had nausea, diarrhea, and still continue to have not much appetite but to start to feel somewhat normal, it is so worth it! I am told all of these will pass. I can honestly say I feel 1000% better than I did 2 weeks ago!"

For Anxiety and Stress "This medication has changed my life. I started off with dizzy spells caused by anxiety induced by panic attacks, they were lasting me for hours. I was constantly in bed. I thought I had vertigo, but an ENT surgeon confirmed it was anxiety induced because I had all the other anxiety and panic disorder symptoms too. I was cautious of taking sertraline because of bad reviews and side effects, however, I had to take it as a last resort. I felt nauseous for the first week, had disturbed sleep, however, after a few weeks my anxiety subsided. I was no longer dizzy or light-headed, I was able to smile again and was back to my normal self. I started doing yoga, meditation, and started eating healthy. I even started losing weight. This medicine is a lifesaver. Please try it yourself, don't let the bad reviews put you off. This medicine has saved my life."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "I have been on Zoloft now for 5 weeks at 25 mg. The first 2 weeks, I had bad side effects: nausea, stomach pain, and I lost my appetite. Since the first week, I was feeling so calm, my anxiety was gone. Now, my anxiety has come back, and I really do not want to increase my dose. Does anyone know if the anxiety goes away? Is this normal? Also, what about having a glass of wine? Are you able to drink?"

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "After nearly 20 years of anxiety and depression, I am finally free. Zoloft has improved my life beyond belief. No more blushing, feeling uncomfortable, or uneasy. The first 2 weeks were tough (nausea, loss of appetite, trembling, etc.), but boy am I glad I stuck it out. A 100mg pill to a new life. I thank god every day that I found a doctor and a medication that have given me my life back. A night and day difference."

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "I had been a marijuana smoker for many years but stopped and then found I was depressed, couldn't sleep or concentrate very well and would get panic attacks. My drug & alcohol physician put me onto Prozac but after just one tablet, I suffered anxiety and was very jittery and almost felt seasick and terrified. He then prescribed Zoloft for me. What a WONDERFUL drug! After one day, I felt focused, clear-headed and happy. I went on to attend Melbourne University as a mature aged student and studied philosophy - it was amazing. I'd never felt so intelligent or capable in my life. I eventually came off Zoloft after a few years and have never looked back. It may not suit everyone but it certainly was just what I needed!"

Sertraline for Depression "I am 24 years old and have a 14-week-old son. I have fought with depression most of my life due to childhood and whatnot. After having my son, everything came crashing down. I was on the brink of a divorce and suicidal. So I asked my doctor, he put me on 50mg of Zoloft, and I'm now on day 4. Side effects for me are headache, tiredness, dizziness, and nausea. But I'm sticking to it, hoping those will go away. My mood is so much better."

For Anxiety and Stress "After a difficult 6 months health-wise, I realized I was struggling to deal with everything and was constantly anxious and unable to function. I went to my GP and cried buckets. After going through all my symptoms, she said I was classically depressed. Started me on 50 mg sertraline with the warning that things would get worse before they got better, boy, they did. I literally took to my bed for the first week: constant nausea, no appetite, insomnia, diarrhea, tremors. I kept reading positive reviews to keep me going, and each day hoped this would be the day it kicked in. Oh my, day 21 was amazing, no more nausea, appetite picked up, and I wanted to get up in the morning. I still have some insomnia, but I’m almost 90% back to the way I was way before I started my downward spiral. I’d say to anyone starting out on this journey, it’s a bit rough, but you’ll get through it, and it’s so worth it."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Please give sertraline a chance. I have used it three times now, and every single time it’s changed my life. I was plunged into insomnia, anxiety, and depression seemingly out of the blue 7 weeks ago. I started sertraline knowing from previous experience what I was in for. I had every side effect under the sun: nausea, vomiting, explosive stomach, severe insomnia, weird awake dreams, uptick in intrusive thoughts. The first 4-5 weeks were a living hell. I was on zopiclone every night just to get me two hours of relief. I had diazepam when the side effects got too much. Then, in the 5th week-50 mg and two days into 75 mg-the lights came on, and my life was saved. Give this drug a chance. You will get better. It takes time, patience, and courage. The end result is worth all the pain."

Sertraline for Postpartum Depression "I am yet another mom who frantically looked up reviews of this medication in hope of finding some relief from crippling postpartum anxiety and panic disorder. I have been on Zoloft for exactly 12 weeks now and can honestly say it was life-changing. I suffered from PPA shortly after birth but delayed getting help until my daughter was 7 months old. I, like many other moms on here, tried everything before medication: CBT, meditation, exercise, yoga, you name it. Nothing could help me escape the crippling intrusive thoughts, daily panic attacks, irrational fears, and insomnia. Starting Zoloft was awful. I had diarrhea, worsening anxiety, and nausea for the first 7 weeks. I was ready to give up the medication until I gradually noticed a change in my thought patterns. I worked my way (very slowly) up to 50 mg and have been there for six weeks. My family notices so many positive changes in my attitude and behavior. Best of all, the side effects dissipate."

For Anxiety and Stress "Can’t remember a time with no anxiety - childhood - terrible panic attacks. I’m 69 and until 2024 tolerated situation. But then I had some CPTSD issues that really surprised me - crying a lot of the time - and relationship my wife (things bad - now worse) and I thought best go for medication. Sertraline 50mg 35 days ago. Anxiety almost disappeared within an hour after pill. Wish I’d done it before. Some nausea, no other side effects, bar some tenderness of intestinal area later. Hard to believe. Some anxious moments first week, but I’ve never experienced calm like that in my life. Thanks Doc! Downside: sexual disfunction: numbness and unable to orgasm but marriage saved despite that. Too higher dose for my sensitivity? Experimenting reduced intake. Hope to recover sexual function and keep taking pills. Lucky it worked so quick - saved my life. My advice: don’t delay like I did."

For Anxiety and Stress "I started on this 7 weeks ago. I first started on 50 mg. The side effects were horrific for 10 days. I had constant pain in my teeth and jaw, I really couldn't cope. Migraines, constant nausea. But then it went away. Please hang on in there, I feel great. Yes, I still have wobbly days, but my anxiety and stress are easier to cope with. I'm back to myself. I'm happy I can function again. I'm now on 100 mg, and it has honestly been the hardest thing to do to ask for medication, but the best thing I have done. Please give them a chance, they do help."

For Anxiety and Stress "I have been on Sertraline (50 mg) for a couple of months, and I really think it has allowed me to be myself again, without the intrusive, self-critical thoughts that were dragging me down before. I experienced a few side effects in the first week or so, but nothing unmanageable-mild nausea and sleepiness. The only residual side effect is the occasional sensation of blood rushing to my ears, similar to going through a tunnel on a train or taking off on a plane. I would definitely recommend this drug to anyone to whom it is offered by their GP. It's sometimes hard to realize when you're in a rut, but when you're lifted from it, it's like the difference between night and day. I feel I have gained a great deal of perspective taking Sertraline, and those around me have commented on how much more pleasant company I have become."

For Postpartum Depression "Two months after giving birth, I realized I had so much anxiety and PPD. I would count down hours while with my baby and feel so disconnected from him. It was such an awful feeling. I felt like I made a mistake becoming a parent. I started on Zoloft 50 mg. Side effects were horrible for me-diarrhea, nausea, unable to eat, and sweating. My depression also got worse for almost two weeks. I wanted to give up but felt like I already invested two weeks, so I would give it a couple more. I’m so glad I did. By week three, the side effects started to disappear, and by week four, I could eat normally again. During week four, I started to feel a difference, but it was slow. For half the day, I’d feel great, and then half the day depressed. By week five, I felt like a whole new person, in a good way! I didn’t feel anxious and depressed, and I finally felt like myself again. Please stick with it for at least six weeks."

For Depression "I am in week 7 on sertraline 50 mg and find this is perfect for me. I had lost interest in activities, distanced myself from friends over the years, and was moody, irritable, and angry at the slightest thing, with abdominal pain and fatigue for no reason. I was very apprehensive about taking antidepressants, so I had tried exercise, healthy eating, yoga, etc., but always ended back up with the same feelings. I have persisted with this medication and have found it to be brilliant. The first 2-3 weeks were terrible: brain zaps, headaches, nausea, zoning out. But this week I have felt very relaxed and like a fog has lifted. It’s not a miracle pill, else everyone would take it, but it’s certainly helping alleviate tiredness, interest in my usual activities, and give me a lot clearer outlook on life. I take it early morning with breakfast at the same time and have a nap as and when required until I no longer need to, as this can make you feel a bit sleepy. Just go with it. It will be worth it."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "Honestly, I feel guilty for feeling great... But I've been taking Zoloft for 6 months now, and I feel totally different. I was diagnosed with GAD, generalized anxiety disorder. I had serious issues with social anxiety, irritation, nervousness, constant worrying, and seldom depression. After taking the medicine for about 3 months, I felt like I've never felt before. I started to worry a lot less, I started to avoid confrontation, and also was able to talk to people without feeling intense anxiety. This medicine really works well. The only negative side effects I've experienced were nausea in the first month and consistent fatigue. Working out and midday naps have subsided the fatigue. My suggestion would be to take your dose in the evening."

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "I have been on 50mg Zoloft for 2 weeks now. I confidently say this medication is the best thing that has ever happened to me since living my life controlled by anxiety and horrendous panic. It was the right decision because I'm starting to finally see that I'm getting my life back to how I was before. The side effects are not great like lack of appetite, nausea, etc. But they pass after a week or two and all these bad reviews that you see are people not giving this medication a chance to kick in and work. It takes time, and I respect that it might not affect everyone how it has me, but I can say without Zoloft I don't think I would have ever gotten better because no reassurance from family members was helping. It was the extra push I needed."

For Anxiety and Stress "Never had mental health issues until a few months back, when I started suffering from anxiety and depression. Had a relationship breakdown that I was constantly thinking about, from the moment I woke to the time going to bed, and hated going into work, where I previously loved going to. Started on 50 mg and had the side effect of feeling worse for the first couple of weeks. Then bits and pieces started to feel better (used to feel agitated just sitting at home, watching TV. That disappeared). Then I started to feel better in the morning, about 4 weeks in. I thought, 'the pills must be kicking in, even though the constant thoughts still remain.' Then I started feeling worse again and the panic attacks started to come back, even up to the weekend just gone. Then yesterday (Tuesday), things changed. Those constant thoughts had virtually disappeared. I could sit watching the TV and think about what I'm watching. It is 6 weeks tomorrow that I started on the meds, and today I feel about 90% me."

For Depression "I have been taking this since last April. I take the generic sertraline and started on 50 mg. Initial side effects were nausea, loss of appetite, and tiredness. After 2-3 weeks, it went away and I've now been taking this for 6 months. I am taking it for anxiety and mild depression, and this has worked wonders. My brain fog has lifted, and I can be so much more productive at work. I no longer overthink things like I used to. I no longer just start crying over little things. Things that seemed so overwhelming in the past are just normal everyday things to me now. I feel like a better version of my past self. It has not caused me to become disinterested in things, it's helped me to focus on all those things and enjoy them. I've actually taken on way more in life because I want to and am reaching life goals happily. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me!"

Sertraline for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "After 1 month of losing my girlfriend and her mom in a horrible head-on collision and bawling my eyes out every day, feeling so lost, I needed help!! Doctor put me on Zoloft 50mg for the first week, then upped it to 100mg thereafter... I'm on day 4 & feel much better already, not thinking so much of my loss. The only side effects I've felt are a slight headache & slight nausea, but now I have put down the box of Kleenex from crying so much & can relax better... I'm going to continue to take it because thinking of my loss constantly was nothing less than the worst time of my life."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "The first time I tried Zoloft I hated it, it made me feel very nauseous. My doctor wanted me to start on 50mg for 5 days and then go to 100mg. I never made it to day 3 on 50mg. So I decided to try half of a half, approximately 25mg, and that worked fine! After 5 days, I went to 50, then 5 more days 100, no problems! What I noticed at the end of the first week was I was more at ease. It not only helped my social anxiety but also reduced my general anxiety, stretching out my Xanax for when I really needed it the most. Worth noting, I also take Wellbutrin with the Zoloft and while it's not perfect, I am very happy and pleased with this combination."

Sertraline for Major Depressive Disorder "I tried everything over the past year to cure myself. I researched vitamins, supplements, holistic remedies, tried yoga, meditation. Everything. Nothing would help. I got to a point where I just couldn't take it anymore. My days were running together, and I knew I needed help. I went and saw a psychiatrist. She prescribed me this drug. Even after receiving it, I still waited another week out of hesitation. But I wasn't eating. My sleeping habits were horrible. All I wanted to do was lay in bed and cry. I started taking 25 mg for a week. The first day I felt nauseous and was on and off the toilet. Maybe a mild headache. The second day - no side effects. I literally had one bad day and that was it. I felt so much better even after a few days. I am now one month on this and I am so grateful that I just decided to do it. I feel like my old self again. I finally have an appetite again, I am sleeping great, and I don't feel antisocial. So happy to have my life back."

For Anxiety and Stress "If you’re looking for a quick fix, then sertraline might not be for you. I had every side effect, but nausea and increased anxiety were by far the worst. I wanted to give up, but like many, I kept reading these reviews. I pushed through, and it took nearly 5 weeks before I started to really feel any benefit. But as the weeks went on, it got better and better. My doctor was absolutely excellent, seeing me every week or so and explained that what I was feeling was unfortunately normal for some people. Stick with it for at least 4 weeks."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "I've been on Zoloft for nearly two years now. I have anxiety and depression and it's worked WONDERS to reduce it. I've gradually increased the dose and now I'm on 150mg. The difference is HUGE. Me off Zoloft= Crying, paranoid, mess of a human being. Me on Zoloft= Joyful, outgoing human being with a sense of humor who can finally enjoy life! Also, the side effects are basically nonexistent. When I first started it, everything kind of made me want to throw up, like a morning sickness-type thing, and I lost like 5 pounds. Now, that's not a problem, it's gone. As far as side effects go, Zoloft is one of the least problematic antidepressants you can take. So it's worked for me! It's changing my life."
