For Anxiety and Stress "I suffer from health anxiety. I had a pretty scary health scare earlier this year, which kicked my anxiety into overdrive, and I became very ill. My GP prescribed sertraline 50mg. I used this site every day to get me through and promised to do an honest review: Week 1 & 2 - horrific. I nearly gave up so many times, but I was so desperate I stuck with it. Side effects: bad diarrhea, GI issues/pain, shaking, sweating/night sweats, debilitating anxiety, insomnia, no appetite, lethargy, nausea, and brain fog. Week 3 - side effects started slowly to lift. Week 4 - side effects lifting, appetite started to return, and I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Week 5 - massive improvement in side effects, feeling more positive. Week 6 - only side effects are sweating and slight shaking. Anxiety much improved. Week 7 - I feel like my old self, but with a quieter mind. I don’t hyper-fixate on things and go into panic mode like I used to daily. Please stick with it!"

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "I am 6 days into Sertraline 50mg for panic disorder and want to reassure anyone who is terrified of starting this drug because they've read about all the terrible side effects, just as I was. I am a 23-year-old female suffering from this for 8 years. Various therapies have helped but I keep relapsing. Last week I gave in and spoke to my Dr about meds. The first night I panicked because I was so scared of the side effects, which turned out to be mild at worst. Insomnia the first night, day 2 mild headache + slight diarrhea, and slight nausea on day 3+4, also loss of appetite. Overall, it felt like a mild hangover. I have felt slight anxiety at times, but it subsides quickly and doesn't develop. I'm feeling calmer already not even a week in!"

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "I have been on Zoloft now for 5 weeks at 25 mg. The first 2 weeks, I had bad side effects: nausea, stomach pain, and I lost my appetite. Since the first week, I was feeling so calm, my anxiety was gone. Now, my anxiety has come back, and I really do not want to increase my dose. Does anyone know if the anxiety goes away? Is this normal? Also, what about having a glass of wine? Are you able to drink?"

For Anxiety and Stress "Sertraline saved my education and my life. I had the side effects of mild dizziness for 3 days, decreased appetite for 3 weeks, and decreased sex drive for 3 weeks. Both came back though. I'm in my final year of high school, and I have struggled so much for the past 4 years due to severe panic disorder and MDD. I came very close to completely dropping out and being uncontrollably agoraphobic. I cried almost daily, things hit me harder than they did other people, my dad was at a loss. I was a straight A student until my severe mental illness almost ruined me. Sertraline 50mg has helped me learn to cope. I haven't missed a day of school due to anxiety this year, no unexpected full-blown panic attacks, I barely ever cry. I'm stronger."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "After nearly 20 years of anxiety and depression, I am finally free. Zoloft has improved my life beyond belief. No more blushing, feeling uncomfortable, or uneasy. The first 2 weeks were tough (nausea, loss of appetite, trembling, etc.), but boy am I glad I stuck it out. A 100mg pill to a new life. I thank god every day that I found a doctor and a medication that have given me my life back. A night and day difference."

Sertraline for Depression "I have suffered from depression for about six years now. I am a female and about to turn 22. I was put on Zoloft because I recently began to experience severe anxiety over little things. Walking around campus terrified me. I couldn't go through drive-thrus or phone someone I didn't know. My mood swings were becoming ridiculous, and I had been having more obsessive suicidal thoughts. I started Zoloft 50mg, and everything was wonderful for a month, then it wore off. I slipped back into severe depression. I just started taking 100mg and feel so much better! The only side effects I have experienced are a little insomnia, slight loss of appetite, random hand twitching, and some forgetfulness. I finally enjoy life and don't want to just give up."

Sertraline for Depression "I went through a bad period of depression after a job loss, and I tried Lexapro first for treating it. The Lexapro made me extremely tired all the time, so my doctor switched me to Zoloft. Zoloft ended up being much better for me. The main things it has helped me with are getting back to actively participating in life and being able to be more level-headed in stressful situations. The side effects I have had are reduced libido and slightly reduced appetite. Also, the first week or two after I started and after a dosage increase, I had more significant side effects, like being more depressed and anxious than usual and being angry. But once I got through that, I started feeling better than I had felt in a long time."

For Anxiety and Stress "So I have today been on Sertraline for 2 weeks and before this the panic attacks and anxiety were horrific. I was barely leaving the house for fear of a panic attack. I started having anxiety and panic attacks nearly 2 years ago after a bad food poisoning experience that left me in hospital multiple times. I had tried to ‘fix’ myself the natural way with vitamins and minerals and CBT but none of this worked, and I had always been very anti-medication for myself. The turning point came a few weeks ago when I realized I needed help, thankfully I knew a few people who were on Sertraline who said do it! It'll change your life... well, they were right! Within 5 days, I felt significantly calmer. I have managed to go out for dinner with family and go shopping. I have had nausea, diarrhea, and still continue to have not much appetite but to start to feel somewhat normal, it is so worth it! I am told all of these will pass. I can honestly say I feel 1000% better than I did 2 weeks ago!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started on 50mg. This drug took me to hell, so I snapped the tablets in half. I was only having 25mg. This was still horrible, but after 3 weeks and 2 stone in weight lost, I started to feel my old self. However, I still was not 100%. The dosage was upped to 100mg, which was also a problem for me. I don’t give up easily, so I was having 75mg one day and 100mg every other day. This regimen worked. A year on, my life is fantastic, and I don’t worry much about anything. Don’t give up when you first start, it’s tough, but it does get better. Three weeks can feel like a long time when you are at day 1. I was scared of leaving the house and being sick, could not eat."

Sertraline for Depression "Love this medication. I'm a 28-year-old mother of two and have suffered from anxiety on and off for the past 9 years. I have tried different meds throughout the years, and the only one that has ever worked for me was the generic Zoloft! Like... wow! This medication does its job so well that I feel 'normal,' not high or zombified! Side effects for me have been loss of appetite, difficulty reaching orgasm, clenched jaw, hot flashes, and rapid heart rate, but I was told these would subside. But I still give this medication a rating of 9 because the benefits for me outweigh the side effects by far. I've been taking it for a couple of weeks, and if it's working this great now, I can't wait to see in a couple more weeks."

For Anxiety and Stress "After a difficult 6 months health-wise, I realized I was struggling to deal with everything and was constantly anxious and unable to function. I went to my GP and cried buckets. After going through all my symptoms, she said I was classically depressed. Started me on 50 mg sertraline with the warning that things would get worse before they got better, boy, they did. I literally took to my bed for the first week: constant nausea, no appetite, insomnia, diarrhea, tremors. I kept reading positive reviews to keep me going, and each day hoped this would be the day it kicked in. Oh my, day 21 was amazing, no more nausea, appetite picked up, and I wanted to get up in the morning. I still have some insomnia, but I’m almost 90% back to the way I was way before I started my downward spiral. I’d say to anyone starting out on this journey, it’s a bit rough, but you’ll get through it, and it’s so worth it."

Sertraline for Depression "I've been on Zoloft for 3 weeks (100mg) and it's done wonders for me. I was always sad, uninterested in anything, quick-tempered, very negative... you get the picture. Within a week, that changed. I'm able to laugh, I want to do things again, best of all, my sex drive is returning! My appetite has lessened, but I'm not complaining. In the first week, I was taking Zoloft by itself, now I'm taking Seroquel XR in the evening in conjunction. I'm sleeping like a baby the night through (first time in years, really!). My family and friends are as glad as I am that I'm now on the right track."

Sertraline for Social Anxiety Disorder "After taking Zoloft (50 mg) for only a few days, I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a positive experience with it. For about an hour after I take it I get stomach cramps that resemble menstrual cramps, but after that, I go into a really positive mood and I just want to tell everybody how much I appreciate them. I don't get sick from overthinking minor details anymore, and all of my emotions feel more stable and controllable. I'm experiencing slight restlessness and difficulty falling asleep, but I'm taking that as a positive, as I feel like I got my energy back. I do clench my jaw at night now though. I have no appetite and I'm losing weight, but I used to overeat due to anxiety so I don't mind it. I never thought I could be this happy."

For Anxiety and Stress "It all started with panic attacks (convinced myself I was dying). Which also triggered anxiety worrying about potential panic attacks to come. I contacted my GP, and he put me on 50 mg of sertraline. The first 2-3 weeks are the worst. It intensified my anxiety, I suffered with insomnia. I was sweating profusely, loss of appetite, and breathlessness. Although I did find the breathlessness soon dissipated. PLEASE STICK WITH IT, IT DOES GET BETTER!! One day during the 4th week, it was like someone had turned the anxiety switch off. Life was great. I was back to normality. I went back to work, I was enjoying life again. It was great. 6 months down the line, I failed to heed the doctor's advice and decided it was time to come off sertraline. For months after, I was fine, or so I thought. Then last Friday, lo and behold, major panic attack out of nowhere and anxiety through the roof. I immediately contacted my GP and managed to get back on the tablets. I'm on day 2, wow, it's hard, but I've been here before. Stay strong!"

For Social Anxiety Disorder "I was having increased anxiety. I tried exercise and meditation, which worked for short periods of time. I was prescribed 50 mg of sertraline. The first few days, side effects were really difficult but lessened a week on. There was sweating, decreased appetite, difficulty sleeping, buzzing feeling, pupils larger, dry throat, slight blurriness of vision. All gone now except for the dry throat. I have to say I'm so glad I persisted in taking it. I nearly stopped due to the initial side effects. It's really worked. I didn't realize how anxious I had been until I wasn't. I'm amazed at the difference. This has really worked for me. I've even managed to change jobs without stressing. I'm about 6 weeks in and plan to continue with it. I wrote this review because I hope it helps others. These reviews really helped me stick with it during the first few days."

Sertraline for Depression "Before Zoloft, I was depressed, stressed about everything. The depression got worse once my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I began Zoloft a month ago. I am on 200mg along with Xanax. I haven't had much of an appetite, but I am happier and am now able to sleep better. Things don't bother me, and if I'm upset, I feel no urge to harm myself or cry all the time. I am able to be the wife and mother my family needs me to be. Thank you, Zoloft."

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "Zoloft has been a life saver! I have been on this medicine for about 7 years now. Two kids (3 and 6 months) later, I still have to use this medicine, and it works miracles. My husband deployed to Afghanistan, and I do not think I could have made it through that time while taking care of our kids without this medicine. The only side effects I had were loss of appetite, tiredness, and mild headaches, but that only lasts about a week. If you're just starting this medicine, hold on, I promise this will help you feel like yourself again!"

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "I have been on 50mg Zoloft for 2 weeks now. I confidently say this medication is the best thing that has ever happened to me since living my life controlled by anxiety and horrendous panic. It was the right decision because I'm starting to finally see that I'm getting my life back to how I was before. The side effects are not great like lack of appetite, nausea, etc. But they pass after a week or two and all these bad reviews that you see are people not giving this medication a chance to kick in and work. It takes time, and I respect that it might not affect everyone how it has me, but I can say without Zoloft I don't think I would have ever gotten better because no reassurance from family members was helping. It was the extra push I needed."

For Anxiety and Stress "I recently started taking sertraline for health anxiety. I've had it all my life, but it was getting worse and worse to the point I saw no end, so I started taking medication. Like other people have been saying, the first 2 weeks are awful. I didn't want to get out of bed for 2 weeks. I had many times where I felt it wasn't working and wanted to stop. Not only did I have worse anxiety, I also had all these side effects: lip tremors, no appetite, feeling sick, diarrhea, lump in throat, weird feeling in my mouth, excessive dry mouth, runny nose, racing heart. The list goes on. By the 3rd week, the anxiety had subsided slightly and the side effects had slowly begun going away. I'm now on month 4, and I feel so much happier. I don't think I realized I was depressed as well. I have started going to the gym, swimming, and actually enjoy going out. My health anxiety is still there, but it doesn't take over my life like it used to. Please, if you're going through the side effects, just know they will ease."

For Depression "I have been taking this since last April. I take the generic sertraline and started on 50 mg. Initial side effects were nausea, loss of appetite, and tiredness. After 2-3 weeks, it went away and I've now been taking this for 6 months. I am taking it for anxiety and mild depression, and this has worked wonders. My brain fog has lifted, and I can be so much more productive at work. I no longer overthink things like I used to. I no longer just start crying over little things. Things that seemed so overwhelming in the past are just normal everyday things to me now. I feel like a better version of my past self. It has not caused me to become disinterested in things, it's helped me to focus on all those things and enjoy them. I've actually taken on way more in life because I want to and am reaching life goals happily. I hope it works as well for you as it does for me!"

Sertraline for Anxiety and Stress "I started using Zoloft about 2 months ago for stress and anxiety. I have a teenager and we fought constantly. I would fly off at him for back talking, and we were both miserable. Since taking Zoloft, we get along so much better, and I am not as stressed. I also have a touch of OCD, I was always cleaning and stressing about everything in the house not being like it should. Now I am not bothered if something is out of place or not cleaned. I spend time with my 2 kids instead of cleaning the house. I am taking 50mg, and I love it. My sex drive hasn't been affected, my appetite decreased for about 2 weeks, but it's okay now. I recommend this medication to anyone who feels they need something to help with stress."

Sertraline for Depression "Day 18 on Zoloft started with 50 mg, increased to 75 mg after day 7. Day 11-15 were terrible days, I felt a lot of anxiety mixed with crying, loss of appetite, and I experienced panic attacks in the early mornings three days in a row (I’ve never once had that issue before). My physician added 10 mg of Buspirone twice a day to help fight those battles, and it helped. Today was a beautiful day — I don’t remember a single thought holding me back, I felt balanced. Hope this continues."

For Post Traumatic Stress Disorder "Sertraline has been life-changing for me, and I only wish I’d tried it decades ago. I started on 50 mg after having trauma since childhood that caused what I used to call The Fear and which years of therapy didn’t alleviate. I was very anti-medication. Anyway, I tried it, and after just two days of starting it, the intrusive thoughts, panic, and anxiety completely stopped, and I started to feel a calmness and stability I’ve never felt before. In the first two weeks, I had no appetite and some sleep problems, but all side effects disappeared after two weeks. My experience has been 100% positive apart from this. I’m no longer plagued by a daily sense of crippling dread and the fear of how I might be punished, etc. I can now concentrate on simple things like reading a book, which was impossible before. I’m so grateful for being able to take this medication as it has given me such relief. After 6 months, the 50 mg effect lessened, so I increased to 75 mg, and this worked."

Sertraline for Depression "I got put on this medication about 3 days ago, and my first time taking it was in the morning. There are two side effects I've had, the first day taking it I felt kind of nauseous and I threw up, but after that, I was completely fine! I also have had a decreased appetite, but in my opinion, that's a good thing, considering I want to lose a bit of weight. I was suffering from major depression and got put on this medicine because I was caught in the middle of attempting suicide. But since I've started this, I haven't had a single suicidal thought! I would definitely recommend this. Although I've been on it for just a few days, I already discovered improvement."

Sertraline for Panic Disorder "A few months after I turned 19, I started to experience random panic attacks without a trigger. My heart rate would increase, my breathing became uneasy, and my thoughts became irrational, and I felt like I was out of my mind. I felt genuinely hopeless. After consultation with my doctor, I was diagnosed with panic disorder and was prescribed 50 mg of Zoloft. I will say the first two weeks were AWFUL. My appetite decreased, I was nauseous, and my depression and anxiety elevated. However, afterwards, it was like something clicked, and my thoughts stopped racing so much, and I could experience life again without fearing a panic attack. Although I still have some rough days, Zoloft has changed my life. If I can sense a panic attack coming, it’s more tolerable and not as scary. A lot of people quit this medication because the first couple of weeks of adjusting can be rough. For me, I rode it out, and I am relieved that I did. I have been on Zoloft for 10 months now, and I feel so much better."
