Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "So I have been on Ozempic for 5 weeks. I am tired a lot. Not sure if this is the drug or my poor sleep, but now that I see others are tired a lot, it makes me wonder. I have nasty burps a lot. I started on a dose of 0.25 for 4 weeks. I had a lot of low-level nausea, but not too bad except for one day. Then last Sunday, I took the higher dose of 0.5, and I was okay on Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday the nausea was horrible, and I had explosive diarrhea all day to the point I had to take Imodium, and I got my doctor's office to prescribe an anti-nausea med, Zofran, which helped a little. The next day, less nausea, and today is Thursday of that week, and I still have the burps and more BMs than I would like, as well as a lot of gas. I know I have lost weight just by how my clothes fit. I have very little appetite. Not sure if the pluses outweigh the minuses yet. I am probably going to try one more week and see how I feel. It has had a modest impact on blood sugars. I have been using less insulin."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking this medication now for 2 weeks and 1/2 for weight loss purposes, and I started with 1 mg recommended by my friend that lost 15 pounds with it in 2 months. Well, I got very nauseous, dizzy, and headaches, which got better in the 2nd week, but I feel very tired all the time, very low energy, and started having shortness of breath. I lost 5 pounds so far, and I'm still not feeling well. I do get full faster when I eat, but it has been very hard dealing with the side effects. At this moment, I'm not sure if I will go on with it or not. My inspiration is my son, who was 242 pounds and now is 205 after 1 month and 3 weeks of being on Ozempic. It has truly changed his life, and he is super happy, he calls it the miracle drug. I will keep you guys posted on my journey."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy the first week of April 2023. I was hesitant at first because of all the negative reviews, but I finally did it. The first day was good. I injected it in my thigh, which was fine. After a few minutes, I felt a burning sensation in the back of my leg, then it went away. I've done my 3rd injection this week, and the only side effects are being kind of tired. Other than that, I'm fine. My hair has always fallen out because it's hereditary, so the hair fall I have is not due to that. I have way less cravings for junk food and don't feel as hungry. The first week, I lost 7 lbs. Gained 4 back due to eating late at night after work. I usually stop eating at 6 pm. Make sure if you take this to drink lots of water because you will feel thirsty. Other than that, I've overall had a great experience with this. I'm glad my cravings are no longer. I have a long way to go since I'm wanting to lose at least 80 lbs. I have an infant now, so I'm not as active. Good luck to those who want to try."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Ozempic for weight loss. I paid cash since I wasn't approved by insurance. I was about 15-20 pounds overweight and pre-diabetic with a family history of type 2 diabetes. No matter what I did, nothing made me lose weight. The first month at .25 mg was a dream come true. I had no appetite and felt very few side effects. I lost 10-12 pounds in the first month. The 5th shot was .5 mg. I became so ill. It started with huge belches and nausea. That night I vomited and was so lethargic and nauseous that I didn't get out of bed for 3 days. I had weird sores on my tongue. The next day I vomited again. I had to get Zofran for the nausea, which helped a bit. Almost a week later, I am due for this week's shot, and I have decided not to continue. I still have the belches from hell, weakness, and lethargy, but I am at least able to function and work. Climbing the stairs feels like Mt. Everest. I hope I feel normal again soon."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 35 pounds on Rybelsus over a year and had great results. A bit nauseous, but that went away. Then they took the discount away, and insurance wouldn’t cover it, so I was off for about 4-5 months. All my cravings came back, and my appetite was feeling hungry a lot. I gained back the weight I had lost. Now they have approved the semaglutide Wegovy injection, and I have terrible constipation. Also noticed my mood is very negative, and depression is worse. This didn’t happen on the Rybelsus. Is anyone else experiencing lethargy, despondency, and negative thoughts? Please respond."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for 7 weeks now: 4 weeks at 2.5 and half the usual insulin dose, followed by 3 weeks at 5.0 and no insulin, as instructed by my endocrinologist. I experienced leg cramps, stomach cramps, lethargy, and light-headedness among other symptoms in the first 4 weeks. My fasting sugar results increased. During my 3 weeks on the 5.0 dose, I have suffered feelings of nausea, regular bouts of light-headedness, and my fasting sugar levels are now up to the 14-17 range. My energy levels are decreasing. I am taking myself off this medication over the next 3 weeks. An interesting experiment to undergo but not worthwhile continuing as there are no benefits (except weight loss - and I can't afford to lose too much more weight) but light-headedness, lethargy, feeling like vomiting regularly, increased cramps, and, worst of all, my blood sugar levels going through the ceiling. Concentration levels are also a concern."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started Ozempic and did pretty well on the .25 dose, but when I went to .5, things got bad fast. Absolutely the worst burps that eventually have me vomiting. Cannot find any relief from the nasty burps until finally throwing up. I had terrible headaches, and it felt like I had the flu-just completely exhausted. I am done with this medication, and I had high hopes for it. Hope everyone has a better experience."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In February of '23, I learned that I had a hiatal hernia where 2/3rds of my stomach was above my diaphragm. The doctor said she could operate, but it wouldn't stay fixed because of my body mass. So my primary care PA suggested Wegovy. I agreed to try it. The first 3-4 days of my first week were rather rough. I had horrible gas, diarrhea, and nausea. I could eat berries and yogurt, but not much else. Over the first 2 months, I lost 12 pounds. Then I plateaued. There also was a mix-up with getting my next 4 doses on time, so I went a couple of weeks with no doses. Most recently, we upped my dose, and now at 1.7 mg, I don't have many stomach problems, but I feel tired all the time. I get up and do a few things, and then I take a nap. And repeat. I had one time when I started to feel dizzy and faint because my blood sugar was low, but a sweet drink and a burrito helped with that. I am still slowly losing weight, which makes me happy! I've lost a total of 18 pounds in about 4 months."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my second week. First week (day after shot) I got severe nausea and dry heaving. I was so exhausted and zero energy. My depression got way worse. Second week the same. I don’t think I will continue, but I signed a contract, and I was told I can cancel at any time, but it looks like this is going to be a problem. This has been a wake-up call, and the nausea has taught me a lesson to never eat bad foods again and really focus on portion control. The side effects aren’t worth any weight loss in my opinion!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on semaglutide for 8 weeks and am presently on a 1 mg dose. First, the positives. I have lost 16 pounds, my intake of Novorapid has decreased significantly, and my blood glucose has dropped from 7.9 to 6.8. Negatives: mild constipation, bloated feeling, slight nausea, reflux acid, lethargy, and wind (burps and farts). I feel the positives outweigh the negatives at the present time, but only time will tell."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "So far, so good. I have had to decrease my insulin from 44 units to 22 units and stopped 500 metformin. Lost 10 lbs in the first 1 1/2 weeks, then plateaued, now weight is dropping again (4 lbs). I've been on it for 4 weeks and will increase to 0.5 on the next shot day. Got the prescription from my doctor and will see him 3 months from starting Ozempic. Really watching what I eat. Only side effect so far is feeling tired a lot, but I can live with that. Oh, and I am 71 years old and obese with a body mass index of 49. Ouch, I know."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I went to a weight loss clinic, and I was prescribed Rybelsus 3 mg plus diet and exercise. After the first day, I noticed I'm really tired, the next day was worse. On the third day, I can barely drag myself from the bed. I only cut the bread and beer out of my diet, and I had my morning coffee and two normal meals every day. I'm stopping taking this right away. I'm fat but active, I have stuff to do. I can't walk around holding to the furniture, so I won't fall in my face."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for 2 weeks, and I'm very tired. It came out of nowhere. I'm on 0.5 dose. No other side effects, but this tiredness is outrageous. Will do another week. Also, no weight lost, plus appetite is still the same. Boy, I wish my appetite would go away."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Initially began Ozempic 0.25mg for 4 weeks. Side effects were tiredness, constipation. My fasting blood sugar numbers were lower in the morning. When I began the 0.50mg dose at 5 weeks, I had nausea, dizziness, and lethargy the day following the first dose. The second day following that dose, I felt about 70% better. With the second dose of 0.50mg, side effects were less severe, some minor nausea, headaches, and the tiredness continued. I hope that these side effects disappear. I plan to take this medication until I get my 3-month labs, and I expect that my A1c will be down significantly. It was at 5.9 in July of 2017. Due to the stress of caring for a dying relative from September through December, it jumped to 9.3. At my next appointment, my doctor suggested I try Ozempic in combination with Metformin 500mg twice a day. I received a 3-month discount card and have not yet checked with my health insurance provider to see if it will be covered. I am an active 61-year-old female, but type 2 diabetes does run in my mother’s family."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic last October, but I had to come off it - I was so ill. I'm type 2 diabetic and Hashimoto's thyroiditis autoimmune disease. I'm 57 years old and post-menopause. The doctor decided I should try again, I started 5 weeks ago and had my 5th injection. I have been sick since I restarted. I have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, brain fog, anxiety, burning in my stomach, headaches, and I'm so tired and weak. I tried to stick with it, I'm on the 3rd day since my 5th injection. I am so ill, I still have all the above symptoms, but worse. My kidneys are sore and my lungs. I have pain in my stomach and back. I feel like my body is poisoned, and I have to wait for 5 weeks for it to clear out of my system. I will never take this again."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on this medication for 10 months. I started with .25 for 4 weeks, then increased to my prescribed dose of .5. My doctor and pharmacist correctly recommended this gradual increase. However, after beginning the .5, I became very nauseous, had diarrhea and/or constipation, terrible headaches, and all-around lethargy. It was awful. I toughed it out for 2 weeks, but that was it. At the advice of my pharmacist, who happens to be a diabetic counselor, I went back down to .25 for a couple of weeks, then very gradually increased my dose. A few extra clicks of the pen each week until I reached .5. Success!! Now I have no side effects and have lost 25 lbs, which is a significant amount for me. My appetite is very low, and I just don't experience any cravings that I used to. My guess is this very slow, gradual, almost click-by-click increase may be effective for a lot of people. I have read through many of these reviews and cannot imagine jumping right in with a .5, however, I am not a doctor, so..."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for over three months now. Initially, I saw multiple doctors with a complaint of chronic diarrhea while on Metformin. No one would consider taking me off of the Metformin. Finally, I went to a teaching facility, and they did stop it, and they put me on the Rybelsus. No problems at all with a 3 mg, and then we went to 7 mg. My taste buds suddenly changed, and I could not eat anything that was greasy or sweet, and I could not eat any meat. From the diarrhea, I lost 30 pounds. I have also been weak and tired every day. I have weird nightmares, and I am now walking and talking in my sleep. I have been on the 14 mg for two weeks now, and I was fine up until yesterday. It was as though I could feel my belly swelling up with gas, and it was very painful. Diarrhea has now turned to constipation. I used to drink three bottles of water a day, now I can’t even get down one because I can’t stand the taste of anything. I did not take my pill today because I am sick."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Semaglutide in April. I felt sick for pretty much 2 months and almost gave up several times, but since the weight was coming off and my husband was doing it with me, I decided to keep going and took Zofran for nausea. My side effects: exhaustion, diarrhea, nausea, gas cramps, and light-headedness. Sometimes I still feel those things, but my body has adjusted mostly to it. In the beginning, I didn't feel like eating, and nothing sounded good. Now, I am hungry but can control my snacking. I lost weight quickly - 35 pounds. I had to keep buying new clothes. I do not want to lose any more weight since I reached my goal weight. Now, I take 30 units weekly to maintain the results. My cholesterol is the best it's been in years! I do work out 3 days a week, but I always have. I just couldn't lose any weight and ate too many snacks at night. This prevents snacking. Be careful not to lose weight too fast. I now have to deal with sagging skin. My husband and I still feel it's worth it though."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on Ozempic for 2 years. It's fantastic for weight loss and improving BSLs and HbA1c level, but I ended up with hyperthyroid. I feel really exhausted all the time, have frequent migraines with aura, daily dizzy spells, muscle pain with spasms, and changes of all over body skin texture. I used to have really great skin, but it’s dry and rough now. I’m glad my diabetes is under great control, but the side effects can be pretty brutal."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy .25 mg on March 5th. On day 1, I felt a little nausea and a little tired. Felt fine the rest of the week, appetite suppressed after a day or so. Continued to follow a healthy diet, exercised at least 5 days a week, and meal portions became smaller. I did not experience any other side effects aside from a little heartburn at night after the 2nd dose. By the 3rd dose, I started feeling somewhat constipated and noticed my watch was notifying me more frequently than usual that my heart rate was over 100 throughout the day and night. I take blood pressure medication, so I decided to call my doctor. She does want me to get blood work done and will be checking my thyroid. Also recommended I stop taking the med. I am a bit worried as I already feel the cravings are coming back. After I complete blood work, I will provide additional feedback regarding recommendations from my PCP. I have lost about 14 lbs., so it does work. I would give it a shot, everyone reacts differently."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started in December 2022 and on a compounded version, and to date have lost maybe 5 lbs. It's hard to tell as I am constantly bloated, constipated, and have gas pains, terrible heartburn, nausea, and feel really tired. I have experienced these side effects from the first 0.05 dose up to the 2.4 that I am on now. I am weaning myself off of it as it is not beneficial to me."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started my 2nd injection of Wegovy. I had no side effects with the first injection at all but lost 2 lbs. On my 2nd, I feel a little tired, but no symptoms so far. I can tell that I need to drink more water, and it seems that I can no longer finish a plate of food. I’m glad my doctor recommended I try this. It really does work!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Pros: Blood sugar and weight became stable. Cons: However, after 18 months of taking a .5 dose, I feel tired and weak all the time, even though I am active and walk 3 miles four days per week. Plan: wean off Ozempic gradually to see if my energy returns once my system is cleared of the drug. Recommend: depends on the severity of Type 2 and whether a person has the knowledge and ability to control illness with diet and lifestyle, which is what I plan to do."
