For Type 2 Diabetes "I used to take 0.5, now I take 1 mg for 2 months, and I have started having heartburn even when I haven’t eaten. It’s very painful and feels like a heart attack, no other side effects. Ozempic helps control my blood sugars, which is good for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 and did not experience any side effects. However, my blood sugar rose from low 100s to 200-300. My dosage was increased to 0.5. I had gas - burping that was very bad smelling and tasting. I had mild heartburn and a decrease in appetite. My blood sugar dropped to the 200 range. My doctor increased my dosage to 1. I had days of debilitating side effects. The side effects gradually decreased. I am still having some side effects, but my blood sugar is now consistently in the mid to low 100s. I am hoping that as I continue the drug, I will have fewer problems and more success."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have lost and maintained weight loss of about 60 lbs without exercise or change of diet. Besides constipation, that has been controllable by stool softeners or eating prunes. I have even skipped dosages to protect myself because I have read some bad things. Other than that, I have recently begun to feel a tightness in my chest and a very bothersome sensation of air in my esophagus, or like heartburn, but I don’t know how to distinguish if it’s esophagus or heart strain. I have had something going on with my tongue as well, but that more because of stress, according to the doctor. My question is, if my tongue connects with my esophagus, how is it my issue started in my inner lips, then my tongue, followed by me easily choking in my airways, and now my esophagus, heartburn, or heart pain? Not having money to see so many doctors does not help."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Mild side effects of heartburn and diarrhea. Some weight loss using .25 dosage after 2 months. Way too expensive and will likely discontinue as the monthly cost is ridiculous. Samples provided by Dr. but will run out soon."

"I lost weight with Ozempic, and it changes your brain chemistry to make alcohol unattractive. But when you stop, your old habits return. I've taken Ozempic three different times. I am experiencing a lot of heartburn for the first time in my life. I can't say for sure it's related, but it is a side effect for 1-2% of the populace."

For Type 2 Diabetes "At first, I was disappointed with how it was working. I had side effects: heartburn, constipation, some stomach pain. My glucose levels weren’t dropping at .25 or .50 doses. It wasn’t until I was on the full dose for three weeks that things were improving. Blood sugar is down, and I look forward to weight loss. I don’t have much to lose, so I am actually more interested in the glucose levels. Don’t give up on this drug until you are on the full dose for at least three months. That was my pharmacist’s recommendation. I am Canadian, so the cost of the medication is minimal."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Coupled with continuous glucose meter, improved A1c down to 5.8 and lost some weight. Have experienced some apparently common moderate side effects including intermittent nausea, bloating, gas, heartburn, constipation/diarrhea, dizziness. So far, benefits outweigh bothersome discomfort. Easy to use weekly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Oh boy, oh boy. This was my second time taking this. Why I tried again is beyond me. Haha. Actually, my doctor talked me into it again. Plus side, I lost 15 lbs, not the plus side, made me super sick. Burps that smell like rotten eggs and puke that smells the same, constant heartburn and belly aches. Never could poop, which isn’t healthy. Not worth it to me. Not worth missing work over and my life. I’ll diet the natural way before I ever do this again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor switched my medication from automatic insulin to Ozempic, taken once a week, along with daily long-acting insulin injections. I lost my appetite, my mouth feels tasteless, and no food appeals to me, so I have to force myself to eat. My blood sugar levels have been unpredictable, fluctuating between highs of 250 and lows of 60. One minute it’s very low, and after eating, it shoots up, then drops again. I decided to stop the long-acting insulin last Sunday, at the start of the fourth week when my Ozempic dosage was increased from 0.25 to 0.5. Since then, things have slightly improved—my blood sugar isn’t running too low anymore, but it is still high. During this time, I’ve also developed severe heartburn, sleeplessness (only a few hours of sleep at night), and sluggishness, among other symptoms. I contacted my doctor yesterday."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My BSLs were out of control but almost immediately came under control with Ozempic, with the bonus that I also lost weight. THEN the shortages began, and I think I only managed to get hold of one, maybe two packets over the past year or so - they say it was because so many people were taking it for weight loss. Didn't notice any side effects at my first start, but have just started again, and the first night I had terrible heartburn and also seem to have completely lost my appetite. Bought some Gaviscon for the first and meal replacement shakes for the second and now all good."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It's not working. I have been on it for over 8 weeks on the same dose 0.25 mg and my doctor has not increased it. No changes in blood sugar noticed at all. I have heartburn and I'm belching and constipated like never before."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "It certainly helps to reduce appetite, almost making you anorexic. Side effects... the beginning with constipation was manageable, but the severe diarrhea is terrible. The heartburn also manageable. Using 1 mg after building up from 18 clicks to 32 clicks. Administering the subcutaneous injection is easy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on Ozempic for about 2-3 months at 0.25. Experienced/experiencing: nausea, heartburn, fatigue, light-headedness, constipation. Nausea has calmed down but still occurs. Heartburn has developed over the last month and is definitely not subsiding. Seems I am always tired. Sometimes getting up, I become light-headed and off balance. Constipation is quite prevalent even with eating high fiber fruit and vegetables, and I am doing my best to drink plenty of water, starting with hot lemon water and honey every morning. I do not know if I would recommend this drug or not. Everyone is different. Thank you."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m in my second month of Ozempic. The first dose level (0.25 mg) wasn’t difficult. I felt good, with minimal nausea, mostly fatigued and gassy. Moved up to 0.5 mg 3 days ago, and oh boy, nausea ++ heartburn ++ have vomited twice. Holding out because I had been running with very high blood sugars due to poor diet and med compliance, peeing every 2 seconds, and drinking the well dry, but now I sleep all night, have to remind myself to drink, so those are the symptoms I prefer. I feel lighter and my clothes feel looser, haven’t weighed myself yet."
