For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss in Nov 2022. I started on 0.25 mg for one month. I found it slightly suppressed my appetite, and the side effects I had were awful heartburn, constipation, and sulfur burps. Sometimes I felt nauseous. I decided to stick with it anyway and increased to 0.5 mg after one month. The symptoms were the same but added in fatigue. A month later, I bumped up to 0.75, and the burps, fatigue, and heartburn subsided. I went to 1 mg two months later, and all symptoms disappeared. I started at 192 lbs on Nov 15th, and as of May 1st, I weigh 152 lbs. I found my sugar cravings disappeared once I started taking 1 mg. Up until then, I still craved sugary foods. I lost all interest in greasy food (fries, anything deep-fried, etc.) from 0.5 mg and up. I personally love Ozempic. The side effects at the beginning were worth it for me, but from the sounds of it, mine weren’t that bad. I have never once thrown up."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Everyone gets the same side effects: sulfur burps, intense pain once a week - before #2, heartburn, diarrhea (from fatty or dairy foods), and constipation. More side effects which I might have not mentioned or remember while typing this review. Maybe forgetfulness, shivers, etc. However, for me, benefits outweigh the side effects! But, that’s me. This has always been important to me. Lose weight, feel confident, feel light, and have better health. I experienced every single side effect. Just because I decided to stay on this medication, and it’s been 3+ years, Doesn't mean that I didn’t experience my share of side effects. Fried food, alcohol, fatty foods and drinks will definitely start the side effects - which no one seems to notice. When we stay off those foods, and keep hydrated, one coffee a day, and no alcohol, We may not experience an extreme version of the side effects. It keeps you away from such foods and drinks by even making them unattractive."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Horrible experience. After the first injection, woke up in the middle of the night with horrible heartburn. Then started projectile vomiting, uncontrollably for the next two days. I was so weak and dehydrated that I had to get fluids by IV. On the fourth day, I still cannot eat and was still sick to my stomach. These are evil meds and will never inject myself with this stuff again. Just awful."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Loved the weight loss, everything else sucked! Nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, sulfur burps, no appetite. I ended up with a nasty gallbladder that was poisoning my body. I turned septic and ended up hospitalized. The doctors, nurses, and hospital were wonderful, but my ordeal was not over. Ten days later, I had seizures and two small strokes. Had no calcium or magnesium left in my body. The most horrible experience ever! Yes, this medicine may be great. Please be vigilant about getting your blood work done on a monthly basis, especially if you are losing fluids through digestive upset. Like I said, the drug worked as far as weight loss (47 lbs) and A1C (6.6). But I came close to losing my life and am still recovering and working with my doctors to get back to a healthy life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am really disappointed with this drug. It has done absolutely nothing for me for weight loss. Didn't stop cravings or anything. I know that I have tried hard to watch what I eat and do moderate exercise but have retained no results. I do get a case of terrible heartburn after each injection. Don't waste your money on this stuff."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I am using it for weight loss, and so far after three months, I’ve lost 10 pounds and have really lost belly fat. I still suffer from some heartburn occasionally and some constipation, but mild compared to at the beginning. Before this, I tried everything to lose the weight I put on going through menopause, including the keto diet, intermittent fasting, and a vegan diet. I also was doing high-intensity interval training 4-6 times per week. Nothing worked until my specialist put me on Ozempic. My one concern is in regard to my fingernails, which have become quite discolored (a dark yellow) since being on the medication. Has anyone else noted this side effect?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Ozempic for a few weeks and have lost 9 pounds. It’s incredible that my appetite has pretty much disappeared! I need to lose plenty of weight, so this is good. However, I’m nauseous and have heartburn all the time. It’s kind of miserable. I have to make myself eat and then suffer for it. I guess it’s a good side effect for someone obese like me, but I don’t like feeling this way all the time. Will it go away?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Victoza was no longer working to lower my A1C, so my doctor prescribed Ozempic. It’s been 4 weeks. Since I’d been on the maximum dosage of Victoza, she assumed it would be a smooth transition to the maximum dose of Ozempic. While it did reduce my blood sugar, I’ve had every side effect: nausea, vomiting, explosive diarrhea, heart palpitations, heartburn, and disgusting burping. Some days, I can’t leave the house. I didn’t immediately realize that these symptoms were related to the medication, so I continued to inject the maximum dosage. I thought I had a horrible bug. After the second week, I made the connection. So I went down to a half dose, but that wasn’t enough. Now I’m down to .25. I’m still having side effects, so for now, I am on 2 Prilosec, 2 Zofran, and 4 Imodium per day. My blood sugars are down, sometimes dangerously low. I lost weight, but of course, I would with the nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I’m going to try to stick it out."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking this two weeks ago at the 2.5 dose. Last weekend, the heartburn became horrible. I spent most of the weekend throwing up. Thought it was just something I ate. Took my second dose four days ago, and once again, the heartburn has become horrible! Spent all of last night throwing up. Now today, the heartburn and burping are just awful. No way am I taking any more of this drug."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have experienced severe gas, belching, flatulence, moderate nausea all night, not heartburn but feels like seasickness, and moderate constipation. Have had about a 7-pound weight loss in a month. Simple to use with no problems injecting or at the injection site."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had my first injection (0.025) to treat my type 2 diabetes. On day 3, I had the worst night of heartburn. I do take a drug for this condition twice a day, which has been very effective. Does anyone else suffer from heartburn with Ozempic? Any advice on how to control it? I want to give this drug a chance."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I began taking Ozempic 14 weeks ago strictly for weight loss. 0.25 for 6 weeks, 0.50 for 4 weeks, and have taken 2 doses of 1.0 so far. I had moderate heartburn for the first month. I realized I needed to eat smaller portions and not have food or wine for a few hours before bed. No more heartburn! I have also lost 14 pounds in as many weeks."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken 7 doses of Ozempic. The first week wasn't too bad. A little nausea and fatigue. I did feel like my food stuck in my throat, and every time I burped, there it was. As I continued to take it each week, the side effects got worse. I was just diagnosed with diabetes in May, and since then, I've been able to come off of my insulin on my own, before Ozempic. I still take Metformin twice a day. This past week, the seventh dose made me so sick! If I wasn't nauseous every day, I was running to the bathroom at all hours of the day and night. I had horrible heartburn, gas, burping, jitters, and dizziness the whole time and thought I could continue, but after this past week, my doctor said to come off of it. It will take a while to get out of my system, I know, but I hope it does so quickly. I need my life back!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Some side effects of semaglutide may occur that usually do not need medical attention. Acid or sour stomach, belching, excess air or gas in the stomach, feeling pressure in the stomach, heartburn, passing gas, stomach discomfort, swelling, tenderness, or upset. I did lose 35 pounds in 3 months, and my A1C was 6.5."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Ozempic for about 3 months. Always feel full. The uncomfortable kind of full. I get heartburn. Bowel movements were super slow to empty. General unwell feeling after I take the injection. Very quickly lost 10 lbs. I feel super exhausted. I just turned 60. I really don't like the way I feel but deal with it and hope and pray the side effects go away. I will try injections on the thigh rather than the belly area and pray it helps. Meantime, I'm going to get Prilosec and hope that helps the heartburn. I took Victoza previously and felt amazing. But still high sugars."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started on 0.25 for weight loss. Lost 7 lbs in the 1st month due to calorie restriction and intermittent fasting. Heartburn was the only side effect. I had a little bit less of an appetite, but it didn’t take away my cravings. Started 0.5 a month later, still heartburn. Still have cravings. Still intermittent fasting but ate what I wanted, granted a bit less at each meal. Lost 2 lbs. I don’t think it’s the injection helping me with weight loss, it was the calorie reduction and fasting approach. I will go back to doing it on my own rather than injecting an expensive pen that doesn’t seem to help a lot."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on it now for 1 month. So far, I have had a lot of aches and pains all over, and then it feels like heartburn all the time. It has helped with weight loss, and if you eat something unhealthy, your stomach tells you! Gonna continue a little more and see if it gets better. I’m on the highest dose, and my sugars are still not great. Fasting is always high."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic for 6 months and had to stop because I couldn't handle the side effects: nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, heartburn, etc. Since I started on Ozempic, I have felt a lot better, and the only side effect I have experienced is feeling a little tired the day after taking the shot, but manageable, nothing compared to the oral pill. Very convenient and easy to use, and very happy with the results at the 3-month follow-up."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic in January 2022. Began with the standard .25 for 4 weeks, then .50 for an additional 4. When I injected the 1 mg, I was sick constantly. Vomiting, fatigue, and horrible heartburn. I had to stop for several weeks as I was completely worn out. I started again with the .25 and am now on the .50, but I'm noticing I am much more hungry than I was the first time around. I was wondering if any of you have injected .75 and if you found it to be helpful? I am afraid to try the 1 mg again as sick as it made me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been very pleased with results. I went from an A1C of 9.7 to 6.3 and lost 15 lbs in 3 months. The only side effect I had was heartburn, but talked to my Dr, and she said that after I eat, to not sit or lay down for 20 minutes, which has worked. I don’t even finish my plate of food, I don’t even have those late-night cravings. So far, I love it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Type 2 diabetic with recent congestive heart failure (Nov 2021). Age 53. I am carrying some extra weight but not a massive amount. Most A1c readings had been between 6.5 and 7.5. I keep my diabetes control tight as I love my eyesight and feet. May of 2023, got an A1c of 12.9. I knew something had been off (excessive thirst and some odd weight gain) but we had a recent and very stressful move cross country and I had started a new job. In fact, I couldn’t find my glucometer because it was still packed somewhere. Anyway, started Ozempic in addition to insulin and Metformin for control. As far as lowering my A1c? Amazing. In November 2023, my A1c is 6.3. Holy hell, y'all. Cut it in half. I've lost about ten pounds. Wasn’t looking to be ultra-thin and the little weight loss is nice, but I am most concerned about the drop in A1c. It did the job. Now, the downside. I was so sick feeling for a long time. Indigestion, burping, farting, bad heartburn, constipation, nausea. For 5 months."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic, reluctantly I must say, 5 weeks ago. I have remained on the 0.25mg as I cannot get anything higher due to short supply. I have lost 15 lbs in 5 weeks!! My appetite is so poor, and I don't have the longing for any of my favorite foods. Side effects for me have been a sick stomach, that queasy feeling every single day. Some heartburn at nighttime, which I wouldn't normally suffer from. I have experienced diarrhea as well. The first week was bad in terms of the sick feeling and some vomiting. This week I don't have any major side effects apart from slight queasiness. I will increase to 0.5mg when the supply is back and hopefully continue to lose some more weight!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am five weeks into Ozempic usage. I have completed 4 injections of 0.25 mg and one of 0.5 mg. So far, I have not seen a lowering of my A1C, or if it has, the effect is low. I have experienced side effects such as acid indigestion (heartburn), irregular bowel movement, constipation, and the intestinal pain that goes with it. This is an expensive medicine, and I am not sure how long I will continue to take it if I don't see significant results. The injections themselves are easy and painless."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic in June 2020, initially lost 20 pounds by August. Total of 30 pounds so far, last 10 have been a lot slower. I went from 186 pounds to 156 pounds. A1c went from 6.5 to 5.6. Minimal side effects include occasional nausea and constipation. Started using Miralax, which has helped. Side effects I have experienced are worth the benefits. I consistently wake up with glucose levels in 80-90 range, never out of the green zone on a glucometer. I cannot overeat. If I do, I feel ill or get heartburn, so I have learned my lesson. I am really happy with this medication."
