For Type 2 Diabetes "I did one injection and have been ill since. I have had acid reflux, burping, vomiting, constipation, headache, and dizziness. I tried to eat small meals and drink plenty of water as directed by my physician, but I have been unable to hold anything down. Five days after my first injection, I'm off work, drinking Pedialyte, trying to get my strength back, and avoid being hospitalized. This is the worst that I have ever felt in my life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took one dose of Ozempic and I have been sick ever since. Diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, stomach cramps, and a little dizziness. This is terrible, will never use again. Can someone tell me how long these symptoms last?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic 2 and a half months ago, starting at .25 dose and worked up to 1 mg dose. I had diarrhea on and off for the first 2 weeks. My blood sugar went up to over 200 every day and to 300 a few times. I have never had blood sugars reach 300 before, and fasting readings in the 200s were non-existent. I had significant dehydration after the 2nd week with vomiting and dizziness. My doctor prescribed insulin to bring down my sugar and said I wouldn't see glucose control until I was on the full dose of Ozempic. I've been on the full dose for a few weeks, and my blood sugar is still out of control, even with insulin and Metformin. Ozempic doesn't work for me, and the past few months have been a huge setback in my diabetes management. My A1C prior to starting Ozempic was 7.3. I have been working with a dietitian for years and follow a low carb diet. I exercise every day. I hope when I get off Ozempic my blood sugar stabilizes, and I haven't damaged my system."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started this drug to try and lower my A1C, which had climbed to 7.2. My nurse practitioner put me on it. She showed me how to do the injections, but no warnings of side effects. I took a .25 dose for 4 weeks, suffering pain in my stomach that radiated to my back. Absolutely no craving to eat anything at all. Had constipation. Then I went to a .5 injection and was fine for a bit until severe nausea began, along with dizziness and vomiting. I thought it was going to be the end of me, because then the unrelenting diarrhea began. I waited days in bed, so very ill, and decided to quit this awful medication. I have lost 6 pounds, and my morning glucose numbers are 107, it's lower, but feeling this deathly ill just isn't worth it. I quit the medication, though I understand it could take 5 weeks to leave my body. Beware of this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic at 0.025 mg for two months, primarily relying on meal replacements for diabetes twice a day along with a small amount of cereal (Grape Nuts). During those two months, I lost 30 pounds. However, I experienced dizzy spells because I was also taking high blood pressure medication. Once I stopped the blood pressure medication, the dizziness went away. I then increased my Ozempic dosage to 0.050 mg, and that's when things took a turn for the worse. I started having sulfur burps (long and frequent belching), excessive gas, diarrhea, and if I overate cereal, I would vomit. Even if I didn't eat anything, I would still experience vomiting. I lowered the insulin dosage, and it improved. After a month, I was able to handle the 0.050 mg dosage. Later, I increased it to 1 mg. At this point, I wasn't losing weight anymore, but I experienced hunger pains and started eating other things. On and off, I would have episodes of diarrhea, belching, and gas. Additionally, I started experiencing pain under both sides of my ribs, bloating, belching, diarrhea, and gas. I had blood work done, which revealed that my thyroid levels were significantly off. I am scheduled for an ultrasound to examine my thyroid, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and GI tract, among others."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I took my first injection a week ago. I've already lost 10 lbs but feel horrible. Headaches, dizziness, and feel like vomiting. I'm going to keep trying. I'm not a diabetic but was willing to try anything for weight loss. Any advice?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am on week 8. I was vomiting exactly a week after starting the treatment. No headache. Dizziness every time I lay down or stand up, even at present. No other side effects."
