"Started Ozempic 0.5 mg a few days ago to help me lose weight, a bit of nausea, and diarrhea, and I lost my appetite for food. I feel it is really working. The only thing is with the side effects, hope they don't get worse."

"Started on the lowest dose and increased to the 1 mg. In 4.5 months, I have lost 25 pounds. Side effects were mild, just some nausea at first, but nothing life-altering. I'm able to fight cravings and eat significantly less."

"I was on another daily injectable drug, but it lost its effect after a while, so decided to try Ozempic off label. It’s injected into subcutaneous fat once per week. I’ve been struggling to lose weight for 13 years since having a child. I’d manage to lose around 10 pounds before piling it all back on and often more. At my heaviest, I was 15 stones 1 pound (95.8 kg). I’ve been on this drug for around 9 months, starting at 0.25 mg, I’m now on 1 mg per week. So far, I’ve lost 2 stones 2 pounds (30 pounds), the most I’ve ever lost. I have luckily not experienced any side effects and have only 14 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. I’m so happy that I’m no longer obsessing over food or bingeing."

"Off-label for weight loss. Overall, very happy, in 10 weeks, have lost 13 lbs. with minimal side effects. Now on the 1 mg dose for 2 weeks, and no increase in side effects. The first couple of weeks, there were some intestinal issues, gas, cramps, and constipation, but they have cleared up, and overall, I feel much better than before. The 5% weight loss has increased my energy. Weight loss has been gradual and fairly steady, just what you want."

"I began taking Ozempic 14 weeks ago strictly for weight loss. 0.25 for 6 weeks, 0.50 for 4 weeks, and have taken 2 doses of 1.0 so far. I had moderate heartburn for the first month. I realized I needed to eat smaller portions and not have food or wine for a few hours before bed. No more heartburn! I have also lost 14 pounds in as many weeks."

"I have completed two months on Ozempic for weight loss. I started with .25 for 4 weeks, then .50 for 4 weeks and have just had my first 1 ml injection. I have lost 1 kg in 2 months. The side effects are slight nausea and constipation. I don't qualify for subsidized medication, and so it costs me $132 AU per month. I am going to give it another month, and if there is no weight loss, I shall give up."

"Day 2, no side effects except I'm just not hungry. A small serving of anything feels like an insurmountable feat, and I'm just not interested in food. I would compare it to the feeling you get after overeating and you don't want to look at, smell, or hear about what you just ate for the rest of your life. After the injection, which I opted to put in my thigh in hopes of fewer side effects, I did feel queasy, did have a headache, and some visual ghosting, but that disappeared within a few hours and now I'm just not hungry. It also stopped my GERD. However, food is a large portion of your fluid intake, and if you don't drink throughout the day, you're going to have a very bad time."

"I was prescribed Ozempic to help with weight loss. I am prediabetic and failed gastric sleeve surgery. Started at 240 pounds and after the 3rd injection of 1 mg, am now 228 lbs. I was concerned that I was started right off the bat with 1 mg. My only side effect is constipation. I took the advice of the people on this blog and injected it in my thigh. I heard it minimizes the side effects. I have lost more weight with this medication than I lost with my gastric sleeve. I lost nothing with the sleeve and I still felt hungry. With Ozempic, there is full control of my appetite and lost all taste for sugar."

"Did 5 weeks of Ozempic trial and still having awful joint pain and leg pain, even after stopping it 3 weeks ago. Also having eye issues that may be a premature cataract related to med side effects. I'm only in my 40s. Anyone have these issues?"

"I started Ozempic 9 weeks ago. I lost 50 pounds. It depleted my appetite completely. If I ate foods with fat, I felt sick. Nausea, stuff like that. It’s a great way to get yourself going in a good direction to eat healthy food only because it takes food cravings away. I have reached my goal weight, now I just need to maintain. I give this 8/10. The bad part I would say is you can eat over it if you really want to, and if you don’t have a healthy diet and exercise routine, you will gain it back because as soon as you go off, your regular hunger comes back."

"I’m a 39-year-old female, have had 3 children, and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease after baby number 3, which was 8 years ago. So very hard for me to lose weight, no matter how healthy I eat or the amount of exercise I do. I’m about 8 weeks into using Ozempic now. Started at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and 0.5 mg for the last 4 weeks. So far, I have lost 10.2 kg. This and I have cut junk food and have been eating smaller portions. I haven’t had any side effects from it, except for possibly having to use my glasses more? I have read that it can cause blurred vision. However, so far, I’m stoked with the results."

"I have not yet been diagnosed as diabetic, but I am having hyperglycemic episodes, and I’m trying to lose weight. While many people experienced weight loss, I gained. I gained more than 5% of my starting weight in less than a month. It also causes nausea."

"Started Ozempic 9 days ago (May 28/22), just recently took my second shot at .25 mg. So far, down 7 lbs and no side effects. Feeling full and eating way less than I ever have, also, sugar cravings are practically gone. Love soda, and haven't touched one all week - just no desire to drink it. So far, really enjoying this medication, hoping it keeps up like this."

"I stuck with it, hoping it would get better after 5 weeks. It got worse: diarrhea, feeling like I have the flu 24/7. Dizzy and the worst pain in my body and stomach... It's really not worth taking it for weight loss, you lose your whole life because you can't even do anything because you feel so bad."

"Started 2 months ago on .25 mg x 1 month and then .5 mg x 1 month and now on 1 mg x 1 week. Awful diarrhea for this entire period along with sulfur burps and nauseated stomach. I am 9 weeks into this course of treatment and have not experienced any relief from gut upset. I am abandoning this drug for weight loss purposes, having only lost 5 lbs during this time. I had been on a keto diet prior and had lost 8 lbs over 3 weeks. I intend to return to the keto diet once my gut returns to normal. I feel exhausted, unwell, and very disappointed with this drug."

"Was Ozempic for 4 weeks. Giving myself a weekly injection. Week 1 and 2, I was okay. The end of week 2, I was really nauseous. By the 3rd week, I couldn't eat or drink anything. My prescriber assured me I would be okay, so I went on with my 4th week. I spent 3 separate days in A&E, and I was diagnosed with a clot in the lung (PE). Now, maybe this wasn't directly caused by the injection, but due to the severe nausea and dehydration, that is how I got a clot. The nausea still continued for 4 weeks after my last injection. I would never recommend this at all. If my clot hadn't been picked up, goodness knows what may have happened. I also had bad dizziness and severe headaches."

"This drug is absolutely awful. I had horrible nausea from the beginning, along with vomiting and headaches 5 out of 7 days a week. I kept being told side effects would get better, but they just got worse. This is my 5th and final month on it. I literally don't remember the last time I was able to eat. 6 of the last 10 days, I wasn't even able to keep liquids down and became severely dehydrated. I had the absolute worst headache of my life. I've lost 12 pounds in 9 days, and not one pound of weight loss is worth it. I wake up in the morning wishing I'd just die instead of having to feel as awful as my body does every day. I took my last dose 10 days ago, so I'm praying this poison gets out of my body ASAP. This stuff is toxic."

"Acid reflux is unbearable. I have to sleep upright to keep it somewhat tolerable. Stopped eating sugar and chocolate because it made it worse. If it wasn't for this side effect, it would be a wonder drug. Lost 15 lbs in 23 days."

"A little background: I am 6'2", 24 years old, and the most I ever weighed was 316 lbs. Always used to wear the baggiest clothes and was not confident in myself. The crazy thing is that it was a “trim” 316 lbs (if that makes sense), like, I play hockey and get around just fine - I was just overweight. In college, I managed to get down to 280 from being poor and walking everywhere. But now I am in the real world working, and about 4 months ago, when I began Ozempic, I was back up to 310 lbs. My mom started it, she liked it, she was down about 10 lbs and told me I should try it. I started at .25 for about 6 weeks. I had not lost much weight in the beginning and had some nausea and pretty decent headaches, but that goes away after about a week or so. I am now taking the 1.7 Wegovy, and I am now down to 265. I feel great, look great, and I look forward to taking the 2.4."

"I did not like the side effects that I experienced while taking Ozempic. The first day I was on Ozempic, I had severe vomiting. Although I did not continue to vomit, I did feel nauseated and not well the 4 months while on Ozempic. I also started experiencing severe headaches, and my sinuses became very dry and hurt. I then lost my sense of taste and smell. I stopped taking it right away. It has been more than two years since I last took Ozempic and still cannot taste or smell. I would not recommend this drug to anyone."

"My doctor suggested I take Ozempic to bring down my weight and lower my chances of becoming diabetic, which runs in the family. I am 67 and trying to stay healthy. Started a month ago on .25, things were okay, some nausea and decrease in appetite. Started this week on .5 and have been extremely sick, two days in and vomiting frequently. Already have acid reflux, and it is getting worse. The most embarrassing part was today, as I was walking in the street, it just came upon me, and I had to find a corner to vomit on-a horrible experience, to say the least. I want to stick it out and hope it will get better, but I'm not sure I can. My doctor projects a two-month regimen. Hopefully, I can make it, but honestly, if things do not improve on my next dose, I will not be taking it anymore. I question the high out-of-pocket cost for a drug that is causing me so much misery."

"I started Ozempic at 0.25 on July 23, 2021, for weight loss only. Have not had any side effects. I have injected in my upper thigh/hip area after reading reviews how that would help with nausea, etc. I did this for 3 weeks and went to the 0.5 on August 13, 2021. Still no side effects. Did not notice a huge change in appetite. I already am irregular for breakfast, usually coffee, maybe an egg on toast or a bowl of gluten-free cereal (I am a celiac). I hardly eat lunch, maybe a piece of fruit, and then a normal dinner of meat, a side, and veg. I don't drink hardly ever and don't eat a lot of sugary foods or a lot of takeout (celiac will do that to you). I moved to the 1 dose on September 3. I have taken my 2nd dose of 1 today and still no side effects. I also have not noticed any movement in my scale. I have been told sometimes it takes being on 1 for a while to really have the effect. So I am being positive. Time will show how effective it is. I am 340 lbs+. Scale won't tell me yet."

"The worst side effects. I had one dose only (injected into my belly). Ninety minutes later, began a living nightmare of uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea for 30 hours. Taking regular suppositories now to control vomiting. Even the smell of food makes me vomit. I have not been able to get out of bed. Dosage is level 3 out of five. Spoke before starting the drug, and they didn’t explain the side effects could be this bad. I lost 7.5 lbs in 30 hours of nonstop vomiting. Not worth it."

"I have been diagnosed recently (Aug 2024) with prediabetes, a very close call towards Type 2 Diabetes. Underlying health issues include high cholesterol, arthritis, receding spinal fluids, sleep apnea, and ultimately a walking cardiac arrest risk. I am 182 cm tall, 99 kg, at 46 years old, a guy who has been struggling with weight management seems like forever. Body fat of 28%, visceral fat level 14, waist size of 38. My endocrinologist put me on Ozempic first on a 0.25 mg/week dosage for 4 weeks. After that, he added piolet and increased to 0.5 mg/week for another 4 weeks. My testosterone level dropped from 20 to 7 after 1 month of use of Ozempic, and I was given a shot of Nebido. My testosterone rose up to 15. Now, at the end of Dec 2024, my weight is 82 kg, 18% body fat, visceral fat level 7, testosterone 19, normal sugar, kidney, liver level, while keeping Ozempic at 1 mg/week, not needing to increase further. No side effects at all from taking Ozempic, luckily."

"I have been on Ozempic for four weeks now and am down 5 lbs. I have had nausea and constipation, but it's subsiding now. I have noticed the curb of appetite is huge. I have to make myself eat during the day. I am hoping this helps me get down to a healthier weight so I will feel better mentally and physically."
