"My personal experience with Ozempic has given many positives and negatives that are important to consider. For the first few weeks of taking it, side effects like nausea, vomiting, and stomach aches were daily occurrences. However, if you can 'tough it out', then these side effects do eventually subside, and you will return to a normal pace of life. Ozempic helped to significantly reduce my food intake, both cutting down meal sizes and eliminating snacking altogether. This, in large part, helped me to lose almost 80 pounds of excessive weight, as well as bring my A1c levels from prediabetic levels to those of a healthy adult. Additionally, these changes to eating habits drastically lowered my LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, reducing my risk of cardiovascular disease from 2.5 times that of the average adult to 0.75 times."

"Went to my endo, desperate from dealing with both hypothyroidism and menopause. Have regularly put on 30 kg over the past 5 years up to 114 kg, have extreme fatigue, spine issues, and severe leg pain/body aches. Was prescribed Ozempic to assist with weight loss as nothing else worked. I was very worried about side effects and it not working after reading reviews. Started my 0.25 mg dose 3 days ago, injecting in the upper thigh just before bed, but didn't get the full dose as I pulled it out a tad early. Had some mild nausea the next morning that only lasted a few minutes and developed a headache, but panadol took care of that. I didn't notice much the first day and was worried that it wasn't going to work. However, on day 2, I was only able to eat about 1/3 of my dinner and felt full. Have already lost 0.5 kg in just 3 days. No other side effects that I can tell. Though I do feel more thirsty and am a bit tired; however, that's normal for me, so can't say it's a side effect. Happy so far!"

"My daughter was given Ozempic to help with weight. She has lupus, and with the steroids, she had gained around 30 pounds, which is horrible since she has always been in prime condition with her dance. She has struggled ever since with the weight, even after cutting all carbs, white processed flour, gluten, and anything with corn syrup. We went to no processed foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as exercise. Gave her the first injection (0.25) around 6 p.m. All was good until 11 p.m. that night. She woke us up so very sick. Extreme nausea, then the worst headache ever set in. She thought her head was going to explode. She was shaking all over, extremely lightheaded, and then said she was 'on fire' inside her body. She then totally passed out. Had to go to the ER, we were so afraid. Never again!!!!"

"I was only on Ozempic for weight loss for two months because the nausea and acid reflux in my esophagus were so unbearable I couldn't deal with it another day. Plus, I'd only lost 3 lbs in two months! I could barely eat or drink anything but still didn't lose weight. Besides, I don't recommend trying to lose weight from being sick every day. It was an awful experience."

"Absolutely horrific. I get it works for most people, but unfortunately not me (and should not be promoted as a miracle drug that can help all obese people lose weight, as it doesn't work for everyone). I took 0.25 (the smallest dose) for 3 weeks and nothing (I yo-yoed with my weight; lost a bit then gained it again). After 3 weeks (not sure why 3 weeks for me), the main side effects kicked in. Diarrhea/loose stools, constipation, vomiting, nausea. Worst side effect was for 3 nights in a row, at about 3 a.m. I projectile vomited. First night I almost aspirated and choked on my own vomit trying to make it to the toilet without throwing up. Second night, even though I had the bathroom bin next to my bed, I was still projectile vomiting, and I couldn't sleep as I had a panic attack that I'd pass away overnight and my family would find me dead as I couldn't breathe as I had undigested food stuck in my esophagus. Gave up after 5 weeks of the lowest dose."

"Two days after my first injection, I had horrible sulfur burps that were making me feel sick. By that evening, I had horrific stomach cramps; by 11:30 pm, I had uncontrollable diarrhea! My prescriber advised me to eat six small meals a day and that the symptoms would improve with each injection. I left it twelve days before my next one (as I had a couple of social things I didn’t want to miss if it happened again) and thought at first it was better. A headache day one, nausea on day two, but sulfur burps again by day three. I got indigestion medicine, but it didn’t even touch it. That night, same again; cramps, diarrhea, more burps, and this time intense nausea too. I decided at that point it might not be for me! I really hope it helps some people lose weight, but don’t expect a quick easy fix! I actually felt fatter the whole time I was on it as I was so bloated and tender."

"I have tried so many types of diets, shakes, personal fitness training, you name it, and weight did not budge. Since starting on Ozempic at the end of November 21, I have lost 10 kg over 2 months and counting. I started on 0.25 mg and have progressively moved on to 1 mg (which I have been on for 2 weeks). Besides some tiredness, I have had no side effects. It is easy to use, and the fine needle is painless. So happy!!"

"I greatly enjoy the reduced temptation to eat junk food. I eat much less and feel full. I have more energy as I lose 1-2 pounds a week. I am grateful for the mental support it is giving me. I don't crave chocolate or chips at night. I have tried everything: lap band, WW, Jenny Craig, Mediterranean diet, Keto diet, and hypnosis. I have lost with all methods only to regain. I have side effects of nausea. I am on a 1 mg dose."

"I started Ozempic about 7 weeks ago for weight loss. I had very few symptoms at .25 dosage. Lost about 1-2 lb per week. I switched to the .5 dose and ended up in the ER the next morning. That .5 dose was a whopper. I have had debilitating abdominal pain for 2 days now. I have never felt pain like this. I am still suffering with pain. I will not use it again - I feel that bad!"

"I'm on week 2 of using Ozempic for weight loss. I have suffered very little side effects because I take probiotics and magnesium and a water pill. My 3rd injection will be tomorrow, and it seems that Ozempic is just starting to kick in and work. First week, I never lost my appetite and did not fill up fast. 2nd week, I started to lose my appetite and feel full rather quickly. Also, a couple of side effects popped up in the past 2 days - but they are not bad and don't last: nausea (lasts only a couple of minutes and not that bad), burping (no weird tastes) that makes me feel relieved. I lost 5 pounds since I started this on July 15th. I actually look forward to my 3rd dose tomorrow and increasing after my 4th. Will update as things change."

"I started Ozempic for weight loss, started with 0.25, then 0.5, then 0.75, all this in 7 weeks. I lost 7 kilos in 6 weeks. But I was extremely nauseated and exhausted most of the time. Another thing I found and would love to know if anyone else experienced it. It extremely triggered my adenomyosis. I was constantly bleeding and had severe stomach and back pain. I just got off Ozempic to see if it will settle. Apparently, they say bleeding has nothing to do with it, but when I missed an injection after a few days, everything settled. I think this is an unreported, maybe rare side effect."

"I started on the lowest dose of Ozempic in October 2022. One injection, in my thigh, once a week. I didn't make it past the first 4 weeks or the lowest dose. My physician hoped that since I do not have a gallbladder, many of the reported side effects of nausea and vomiting would not affect me. Wrong. First week and all things went well. I experienced no real side effects and had decreased appetite and energy. I slept well and was active. Second, third and fourth weeks, not so good. Modified my entire diet, but could barely eat or drink anything but a little chicken. Constant and severe nausea, vomiting, sleep deprivation, headaches, body aches, and zero energy for the next three weeks. It was like having a severe case of stomach flu for 4 weeks. Oh, I lost weight, between 18-20 lbs. Unfortunately, this is not a sustainable way of life. I couldn't function; I didn't leave my house for a month. I pulled myself off of it, and it took another 3 months to recover fully."

"My dr gave me this drug for weight loss. Omg, I took a higher dose than I was supposed to. But for the first two weeks taking it, I was so sick in bed. Now it’s been about 3 weeks since I took it, and I'm absolutely miserable. Have to constantly lay down. Dizzy, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and my whole body just feels horrible. If this happens to you, drink tons of water, that seemed to help me a little. But I cannot wait for my body to go back to normal and never take this drug again. It’s been a horrible experience."

"Started low dose .25, experienced discomfort in the stomach. Increased 4 weeks later to .5, symptoms got worse, blood sugar improved. Another 4 weeks after, moved to 1 mg dosage, and life is awful. I've lost all control of my bowels from the severe long-lasting diarrhea, sometimes pooping the bed. I'm wearing adult diapers at 35, and my self-esteem has taken a nosedive. The sulfur burps are horrible and constant. The gas and bloating make me look and feel horrible. I'm following a diet and doing every single thing my doctor has asked me to do for 7 months. I've lost 32 pounds but sleep in a diaper. Was it worth it? No... Nope... My A1C improved a tiny bit, but otherwise, I'm just feeling tired, weak, and totally mortified. Can't go hardly anywhere unless I KNOW there is a restroom very close. Vomit every day."

"As someone who suffers with IBS diarrhea, this was the worst week of my life. I only started with .25 and had really bad side effects. The pain and diarrhea were so bad I thought I was going to die. Glad to see it works for some people, but if you are someone like me, you are losing weight because you’re constantly on the toilet and can’t eat because of nausea and diarrhea. One week of suffering because the doctor thought this would be a miracle drug and it was covered by insurance. I read some reviews where they were told to hang in there for a few months and it gets better. I would not wish this on anyone."

"Was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss because of being insulin resistant and not being able to lose weight (I'm 50 lbs overweight for my height) after a hysterectomy despite working out 5 days a week and eating healthier. I'm on week 3 of a 0.25 dosage, and I'm finally losing weight, 5 pounds so far! No side effects except that I did have some constipation for about a week, but now I'm back to being regular with more water consumption. It did significantly cut back my craving for sweets, however, it didn't completely get rid of it. I noticed my hunger isn't as intense as it used to be. This medication was a last resort for me because I was having no success losing any weight regardless of my consistent efforts with traditional methods for weight loss, which was pretty upsetting. I continue to diet and exercise with this medication, and it has been a great addition to a healthier lifestyle for me!"

"I'm in week 6, and I have lost 15 pounds!!!!! Total miracle. I started out at the .25 dose for a month and last week began .5. I have absolutely no appetite. Very easy to stick to a healthy diet. Predominantly low carb but do allow some complex carbs here and there. I eat very small meals--I am full very quickly. I am a little nauseous in the morning, slight constipation, which easily was alleviated with taking daily probiotics, and after going out to dinner the other night and eating what I thought was a small meal, had really bad acid reflux. The food was spicy, and although I didn't eat a lot of it, I ate later than usual. I will never do that again. I fortunately have not had any of the other side effects others mention. I want to lose another 70 pounds, so I am hoping that at the 1 mg dose I can accomplish this. I would think the weight loss will slow at some point. I remain a little nervous about increasing the dose, although I had no ill side effects when last increased."

"I've been on Ozempic for 4 months. My doctor tiered the dosage from 0.25 mg for 4 weeks, then 0.50 mg for 4 weeks, then increased to 1 mg for the remaining time. I've just gone in for a check-up and increased to the 2 mg dose beginning this week. Each dose, I experienced some stomach knots, but they resolved after the first day of the adjustment. I did initially have some very mild nausea, but all I needed to do was take a sip of cold water to take care of it. I stress, the nausea was very, very mild. I do have a bit of constipation, but I balance with stool softeners and strict keto (high fat). I've lost 21 pounds to this point, and this medication is the first thing that's controlled my appetite. I used to feel hungry all the time, but now I don't feel like I need to eat all the time. I don't snack all the time like I used to. I was doing everything I was supposed to, I was working out and strict keto. But I was stuck and couldn't lose any more weight. I've gone from 203 to 181."

"Ozempic worked pretty well for me for about a year, and I lost 54 lbs, but then I started experiencing problems with my liver and had to discontinue use. I started at .25 and ended at 1 mg. I was experiencing pain in my liver, and then one morning, I woke up throwing up bile. It lasted on and off for a day and a half, and I discontinued use of Ozempic and reached out to my physician. My liver enzyme levels were abnormal, but I was told it was not due to the Ozempic. I still decided to no longer use the Ozempic for 2 months, and I was better. I spoke with my doctor and wanted to start up again, so my doctor told me to go back to .5. A week after the first injection, I started feeling pain in my liver again, but it wasn’t that bad. By injection 3, my liver was hurting again, and I woke up again throwing up bile for a full day. I’m done with Ozempic. It worked when it worked, but it’s obvious for me it’s not something I can rely on long term."

"I gained 50 pounds in 6 months and have tried everything to get it to come off. My Dr. said she had great results with Ozempic, and although giving myself an injection kinda wigged me out, I was desperate, so I agreed to try it. After my first week, I lost 3.5 pounds and did nothing different than following a low-carb diet and working out 3X a week for 30 minutes. Praying my weight loss continues."

"I started Ozempic for weight loss. I took dose 1 of 0.25 week 1 and had a little nausea. I took dose 2 on Saturday morning when I was supposed to. On Sunday, I felt terrible with nausea. Sunday night, I was vomiting and had diarrhea with major stomach pains. These symptoms have now lasted 6 days. My body is in so much pain and discomfort from vomiting and diarrhea and unable to eat or drink. I would never recommend this drug to anyone. The side effects are so terrible that I would not want to take the chance. I’m hoping these symptoms will go away soon."

"I also have type 2 diabetes and take Jardiance. I was very unsure if I wanted to take this drug or not because of all the possible side effects. I have been on it now for over a month and have been very lucky that the side effects have been minimal. For the first couple of weeks, I had a little fatigue, mild headache, and a little constipation, but taking magnesium nightly has helped with that. As long as I eat healthy and small portions, all is great. My brain is no longer obsessed with eating, and worrying about what my next unhealthy snack is going to be. All my sugar cravings are gone, and blood sugars are at a 5. In the last 5 weeks, I have lost 13 lbs. I started at 0.25mg and am now at 0.5mg. I do the injection in my stomach, as it is totally painless there. It is not covered by my insurance and is on the pricey side, $266.00 Canadian, every six weeks, but it works for me, so I will continue taking it."

"Stay away from beef! It's a game changer. I have lost 43 lbs over 4 months. It really works for me. I am at 1 mg/week now, and I feel full constantly. I eat around 1/4 of what I usually did, and my sweet tooth is a lot less than it used to be. I had a lot of side effects with sulfur burps, diarrhea, and vomiting at the beginning. I found a 100% correlation with eating beef and the nasty side effects. Even as little as 1 oz! I had been feeling fine for a month when I last week tried 1 bite of a nice steak! 24 hours later, the terrible side effects were back, and I lost 5 lbs over 24 hours (mostly fluids). So stick to chicken and fish. I have not dared to test pork or lamb yet."

"Ozempic makes me incredibly ill! For 6 months, all I can eat is 1 piece of fruit a day, the rest makes me throw up. All I can drink is water, and it tastes bitter. I throw up at least 3 times a day, my nausea won't go away. I can't get out of bed because I keep collapsing. My stomach is hurting so much it makes me cry! My genius doctor says it's not the Ozempic, and my parents believe her. So I'm not even seeing another doctor for this. I feel like I am going to die. I feel like I want to die!! No one should take this poison!!"
