"My doctor put me on Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes even though my A1C was at goal. It was a huge mistake. After 3 weeks at 0.5 units and 4 weeks at 1.0 units, I still had terrible nausea and diarrhea. I could barely leave my house. My diet changed from healthy legumes and vegetables to less healthy foods in an attempt to reduce the diarrhea and soothe my stomach. I couldn't exercise. I quit Ozempic about six weeks ago, and both my A1C and cholesterol were elevated at my checkup this week. I would not advise Ozempic for anybody who already has slow gastric emptying. I regret trying it."

"Two days after my first injection I had horrible sulphur burps that were making me feel sick. By that evening I had horrific stomach cramps, by 11:30pm I had uncontrollable diarrhoea! My prescriber advised me to eat 6 small meals a day and that the symptoms would improve with each injection. I left it 12 days before my next one (as I had a couple of social things I didn’t want to miss if it happened again) and thought at first it was better. A headache day 1, nausea on day 2, but sulphur burps again by day 3. I got indigestion medicine but it didn’t even touch it. That night same again; cramps, diarrhoea, more burps and this time intense nausea too. I decided at that point it might not be for me!! I really hope it helps some people lose weight, but don’t expect a quick easy fix! I actually felt fatter the whole time I was on it as I was so bloated and tender."

"After 6 weeks I cried "uncle!" (admit defeat) Severe and profuse diarrhea, ++ nausea, and bouts of ++ vomiting, and stomach pain all the time caused me to give up on this drug. Lost only 5 pounds in 5 weeks, and I'm sure it was from the extreme GI issues, and inability to eat more than 500-600 calories on bad days - mostly just soup! Felt like I had food poisoning for 6 weeks straight. Was hopeful for this drug, but it totally didn't work for me, and the side effects were unbearable - and I'm a tough cookie."

"My dr gave me this drug for weight loss. Omg, I took a higher dose than I was supposed to. But, for the first two weeks taking it. I was so sick in bed. Now it’s been about 3 weeks since I took it & I'm absolutely miserable. Have to constantly lay down. Dizzy, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea & my whole body just feels horrible. If this happens to you. Drink tons of water that seemed to help me a little. But I cannot wait for my body to go back to normal And never take this drugs again. It’s been a horrible experience."

"I have had one dose of Ozempic. Since then I’ve had terrible sugar cravings and feel no reduction in hunger in fact the opposite. I have also noticed I am of a low mood which is out of character. Will not be having a second dose."

"Went to my endo, desperate from dealing with both hypothyroidism and menopause. Have regularly put on 30kgs over the past 5 years up to 114kg, have extreme fatigue, spine issues and severe leg pain/body aches. Was prescribed Ozempic to assist with weight loss as nothing else worked. I was very worried about side effects and it not working, after reading reviews. Started my .25mg dose 3 days ago, injecting in the upper thigh just before bed, but didn't get full dose as I pulled it out a tad early. Had some mild nausea the next morning that only lasted a few minutes and developed a headache, but panadol took care of that. I didn't notice much the first day and was worried that it wasn't going to work. However, day 2, I was only able to eat about 1/3 of my dinner and felt full. Have already lost .5kg in just the 3 days. No other side effects that I can tell. Though I do feel more thirsty and am a bit tired; however, that's normal for me so can't say it's a side effect. Happy so far!"

"I am using it for weight loss and so far after three months I’ve lost 10 pounds and have really lost belly fat. I still suffer some heartburn from it occasionally and some constipation but mild compared to at the beginning. Before this I tried everything to lose the weight I put on going through menopause including keto diet, intermittent fasting and a vegan diet. I also was doing high intensity interval training 4-6 times per week. Nothing worked until my specialist put me on ozempic. My one concern is in regard to my fingernails which have become quite discoloured (a dark yellow) since being on the medication. Has anyone else noted this side effect?"

"I started ozempic for weight loss, started with 0.25 then 0.5, then 0.75 all this in 7 weeks. I lost 7 kilos in 6 weeks. But I was extremely nauseated and exhausted most of the time. Another thing I found and would love to know if anyone else experienced it. It extremely triggered my Adenomyosis. I was constantly bleeding and had severe stomach and back pain. I just got off Ozempic, to see if it will settle. Apparently they say bleeding has nothing to do with it, but when is missed an injection after a few days everything settled. I think this is an unreported maybe rare side effect."

"Ozempic makes me incredibly ill! For 6 months all I can eat is 1 piece of fruit a day, the rest makes me throw up. All I can drink is water and it tastes bitter. I throw up at least 3 times a day, my nausea won't go away. I can't get out of bed because I keep collapsing. My stomach is hurting so much it makes me cry! My genius doctor says it's not the Ozempic and my parents believe her. So I'm not even seeing another doctor for this. I feel like I am going to die. I feel like I want to die!! No one should take this poison!!"

"The medical weight loss program kicked me out because their drugs weren't helping, I lost minimal weight and the weight I lost was trying to come back on. I had already been eating very moderately for years at this point, I would try to get in some walking but exercise was limited due to fatigue, pain and weight. When I went on Ozempic, I experienced a slight increase in fatigue (barely note worthy), I experienced slight nausea (barely noteworthy), and acid reflux (I took an acid pill on shot day and kept my carbs minimal). Immediately my feet and hands stopped hurting all the time and the swelling I wasn't noticing went down and I realized how swollen I had been. I lost about 20 lbs that stayed off and stable. I eat small amounts and the reduction in pain made exercising easier, but I have stalled on weight loss. That said my new weight seems stable. Reduce sugars and carbs and the acid reflux stays at bay. I've been on it for about 3 years."

"This was prescriped by a weight loss nurse, second time use. First time on .25mg was okay, but as soon as I go up to .5mg I am so sick. Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, sulphur burps its horrendous!! I do not having tried twice now, with same effects each time I can say 100% DO not try this for weight loss. It is not worth it. It takes 5 weeks to clear the body too!"

"I also have type 2 diabetes and take Jardiance. I was very unsure if I wanted to take this drug or not because of all the possible side effects. I have been on it now for over a month and have been very lucky that the side effects have been minimal. For the first couple of weeks, I had a little fatigue, mild headache, and a little constipation, but taking magnesium nightly has helped with that. As long as I eat healthy and small portions, all is great. My brain is no longer obsessed with eating, and worrying about what my next unhealthy snack is going to be. All my sugar cravings are gone, and blood sugars are at a 5. In the last 5 weeks, I have lost 13 lbs. I started at 0.25mg and am now at 0.5mg. I do the injection in my stomach, as it is totally painless there. It is not covered by my insurance and is on the pricey side, $266.00 Canadian, every six weeks, but it works for me, so I will continue taking it."

"I took Ozampic for several weeks to help loss weight. I built up to 1 mg. I guess it is for about two or three weeks and I had to stop. My stomach hurts all the time it constantly feels like I’m just so nauseous and I have acid reflux really bad. It’s not worth it for me."

"I was only on Ozempic for weight loss for two months because the nausea and acid reflux in my esophagus was so unbearable I couldn't deal with it another day. Plus I'd only lost 3 lbs in two months ! I could barely eat or drink anything but still didn't lose weight. Besides, I don't recommend trying to lose weight from being sick everyday. It was an awful experience."

"Ozempic worked pretty good for me for about a year and I lost 54lbs, but then I started experiencing problems with my liver and had to discontinue use. I started at .25 and ended at 1mg. I was experiencing pain in my liver and then one morning woke up throwing up bile. It lasted on and off for a day and a half and I discontinued use of Ozempic and reached out to my physician. My liver enzymes levels were abnormal but so was told it was not due to the Ozempic. I still decided to no longer use the Ozempic for 2 months and I was better. I spoke with my doctor and wanted to start up again so my doctor told me to go back to .5. A week after the first injection I started feeling pain in my liver again but it wasn’t that bad. By injection 3 my liver was hurting again and I woke up again throwing up bile for a full day. I’m done with Ozempic. It worked when it worked but it’s obvious for me it’s not someone I can rely on long term."

"I have tried so many types of diets, shakes, personal fitness training, you name it and weight did not budge. Since starting on Ozempic at the end of November 21, I have lost 10kgs over 2 months and counting. I started on 0.25mg and have progressively moved onto 1mg (which I have been on for 2 week). Besides some tiredness I have had no side effects. It is easy to use any the fine needle is painless. So happy!!"

"I started Ozempic for weight loss (PCOS) on June 27th, in 10 weeks I have lost 12 lbs. It has been slow going but I believe it's a sustainable rate so long as the medication continues to suppress my appetite. I ramped slowly up to the 1mg dose (6 weeks @.25, 4 weeks @ .5 and then up to 1mg), which I think helped with minimizing extreme side effects. I did have nausea and occasional upset stomach the day after injecting, but would usually subside within a day. The worst side effect I've had is an increase in acid reflux, but I've been able to manage that with omeprazole pretty well. Worth a shot if you suffer from binge eating disorder or if you are on the verge of being diabetic! Everyone's experience will vary but I have found success with it so far."

"As someone who suffers with IBS diarrhea this was the worst week of my life. I only started with .25 and had really bad side effects. The pain and diarrhea was so bad I thought I was going to die. Glad to see it works for some people but if you are someone like me you are losing weight because you’re constantly on the toilet and can’t eat because of nausea and diarrhea. One week of suffering because the Doctor thought this would be a miracle drug and it was covered by Insurance. I read some reviews where they are told to hang in there for a few months and it gets better. I would not wish this on anyone."

"Was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss, because of being insulin resistant and not being able to lose weight (I'm 50lbs overweight for my height) after a hysterectomy despite working out 5 days a week and eating healthier. I'm on week 3 of 0.25 dosage and I'm finally losing weight, 5 pounds so far! No side effects except that I did have some constipation for about a week, but now I'm back to being regular with more water consumption. It did significantly cut back my craving for sweets, however It didn't completely. get rid of it. I noticed my hunger isn't as intense as it use to be. This medication was a last resort for me because I was having no success losing any weight regardless of my consistent efforts with traditional methods for weight loss, which was pretty upsetting. I continue to diet and exercise with this medication and it has been a great addition to a healthier lifestyle for me!"

"Sulfur burps, sulfur farts, abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloated, pancreas pain, sore breasts, feeling as if I am going to faint, pressure behind eyes. I have never been to the hospital so many times in my life. They told me I had a "stomach bug" turns out that it was OZEMPIC. I had such high hopes, I've heard many great things. User beware!"

"I'm on week 2 of using Ozempic for weight loss. I have suffered very little side effect because I take Probiotics and Magnesium and a water pill. My 3rd injection will be tomorrow and it seems that Ozempic is just starting to kick in and work. First week, I never lost my appetite and did not fill up fast. 2nd week, I started to lose my appetite and feel full rather quickly. Also, a couple of side effects popped up in the past 2 days - but they are not bad and don't last: nausea (last only a couple of minutes and not that bad), burping (no weird tastes) that makes me feel relieved. I lost 5 pounds since I started this on July 15th. I actually look forward to my 3rd dose tomorrow and increasing after my 4th. Will update as things change."

"I'm in week 6 and I have lost 15 pounds!!!!! Total miracle. I started out at the .25 dose for a month and last week began .5. I have absolutely no appetite. Very easy to stick to healthy diet. Predominantly low carb but do allow some complex carbs here and there. I eat very small meals--I am full very quickly. I am a little nauseous in the morning, slight constipation which easily was alleviated with taking daily pro-biotics, and after going out to dinner the other night and eating what I thought was a small meal, had really bad acid reflux. The food was spicy and although I didn't eat a lot of it, I ate later than usual. I will never do that again. I fortunately have not had any of the other side effects others mention. I want to lose another 70 pounds so I am hoping that at the 1 mg dose I can accomplish this. I would think the weight loss will slow at some point. I remain a little nervous about increasing the dose, although I had no ill side-effects when last increased."

"Stay away from beef! Its a gamechanger. I have lost 43Lb over 4 months. It really works for me. I am at 1mg/week now and I feel full constantly. I eat around 1/4 of what I usually did and my sweet tooth is a lot less than it used to be. I had a lot of side effects with sulphur burbs, diarrhea and vomiting at the beginning. I found a 100% correlation with eating beef and the nasty side effects. Even as little as 1 oz! I had been feeling fine for a month when I last week tried 1 bite of at nice steak! 24 hours later the terrible side effects was back and I lost 5 lbs over 24 hours (mostly fluids). So stick to chicken and fish. I have not dared to test pork or lamb yet :-)"

"I started Ozempic for weight loss. I took dose 1 of 0.25 week 1 and had a little nausea. I took dose 2 on Saturday morning when I was supposed to. On Sunday I felt terrible with nausea. Sunday night I was vomiting and diarrhea with major stomach pains. These symptoms have now lasted 6 days. My body is in so much pain and discomfort from vomiting and diarrhea and unable to eat or drink. I would never recommend this drug to anyone. The side effects are so terrible that I would not want the to take the chance. I’m hoping these symptoms will go away soon."
