"Vioxx was simply the best ever produced for pain due to arthritis and inflammation. I am a gout sufferer and have been one since age 21. In 2001, I had a severe attack in my knee along with bursitis in that same knee. I was in bed for 2 weeks and suffered for another 6 weeks with acute pain. I went to the ER twice over this period, to no avail. Ordinary NSAIDs do not touch gout pain and in frustration, I went back to my childhood doctor who gave me free samples of Vioxx 50 mg and samples of 25 mg. He told me to take the 50 mg for 4 days. In one dose, I was on my feet in less than an hour with no pain. I used it from time to time until it was pulled from the market, but I retained some until I ran out. Nothing else compares to Vioxx."

"The best pain medication ever produced. I would use it if it were brought back on the market. I was taking 25 mg every other day and lived pain-free. Again, it should be the choice of the patient. BRING BACK VIOXX!"

"I sincerely wish Vioxx could return to the market. The first time I took it was for acute lower back pain when I was 32 years old. One pill and the pain completely went away within the first hour. I did not need to take a second pill. Two years later, I had the same problem, and again, one pill cured the pain. At 39, I had the pain occur again, but Vioxx was no longer on the market. I tried every other medicine known and every other treatment (physical therapy included), but nothing has made me better. I have been living with the pain in my lower back that won't go away for four years now, and nothing seems to help. I would desperately like to see Vioxx return."

"I'm in so much pain all the time, I can hardly take it. Vioxx is the 'only' drug that has ever reduced my pain. I wish the FDA would allow those of us who wish to take Vioxx to do so with a signed 100% waiver to any rights to sue the prescribing doctor, manufacturer, or anyone else in conjunction with its use. I would gladly sign away my rights to such just to have my life back again without all this pain from fibromyalgia and Parkinson's, plus four lower ruptured disks in my back. 20 mg of Vioxx, and it's gone all day and begins working in an hour on me. I only take one when I absolutely cannot take it anymore, as I only have about 15 left from the last prescription I got just before it was taken off the market. When they are gone, that's it."

"I have fibromyalgia and could take one tablet and experience benefits for days. My muscle and joint pain vanished, my joints were more limber, and most importantly, the brain fog I experience so often was gone. I have not found anything that provides a fraction of the relief that Vioxx provided. It's amazing. I hope they come up with a new formulation."

"I had a severe pinched nerve in my neck while on vacation in Eastern Europe. My friend (she is a doctor here) got me Vioxx. One pill and 30 minutes later, the pain was going away. Four hours later, it was gone. I was worried about the heart side effects, but I'm on Toprol and Rythmol for my heart already and had no problems at all."

"I took Vioxx for almost 2 years, and I wish it was never withdrawn. I tried a lot of other anti-inflammatories that didn't work the same and never stopped the pain. I wish they would bring it back and just only give it to people that don't have heart problems. It was the best thing to happen to me, and I wish I could still use it."

"Vioxx was a miracle drug for me. I suffer from peripheral neuropathy and fibromyalgia, and just one Vioxx each day enabled me to function near normal. After it was pulled from the market, life has been a living hell. Celebrex, Bextra, and all the other NSAIDs don't stop the pain. I'm 45 and hardly at risk for a heart attack. Why did they take this drug away from healthy people who were not at risk by it? This is crazy. Ibuprofen is more dangerous than Vioxx."

"The powers that be should be comparing the deaths and costs attributed to the opioid epidemic with the deaths attributed to Vioxx. I worked in health care during the Vioxx days. Ruptured disk patients were given Vioxx for pain while the rupture healed and taken off it without any withdrawals. Anyone with a memory and limited math skills can see the correlation between the Vioxx exodus and the beginning of all the drugs that have become the great migration to opioids. Imagine what it would have been like if the millions of Vioxx users had to go through withdrawals when it was suddenly GONE! Not only would we have had a lot of annoyed people in pain, which we did, but also hospitals full of puking addicts. Vioxx was not judged fairly, and the possible side effects should have been openly shared with the patient to make their own choice."

"I suffered with tendonitis in my heels for years. My doctor tried several drugs, with little or no help, until Vioxx. It changed my life. I am currently in pain all the time, and I would take Vioxx today if I could get it."

"Once, a little over 5 years ago, I had a pinched nerve in my neck. The chiropractor didn't help, and 6 Vicodin didn't touch the pain. I took one Vioxx, I actually felt the swelling, inflammation, and pain leaving my body, never to return. That was one wonderful miracle drug. I'm having a similar problem now for 2 weeks in my upper leg, hip, and around to my lower back. Two trips to the chiropractor, pain medication, Celebrex, muscle relaxers, tranquilizers, and Cymbalta are not helping. I sure wish I had just one Vioxx pill to make this similar problem leave my body."

"I took Vioxx as an anti-inflammatory. Just wonderful! The med co. didn't do their due diligence on this one. If Vioxx was limited to those without heart health issues, many would be back doing what Vioxx enabled: playing the piano, laying sheetrock, concrete, etc. Celebrex comes in as a strong 7, whereas Vioxx hit 10."

"My family doctor gave me Vioxx for back pain. It was amazing. I was in my early 20s then. I am 45 now and like to dream about how well it worked. I have looked for other ways to get it. I would take it no matter the risk to have some of my life back. My rheumatologist has prescribed Celebrex since my first appointment with him. It does not work well. I am a mess and will likely die of a stroke or similar problem, and that is because of the disease. What I need is something that can help me be like a person again. Vioxx is probably never going to be available, but I would go to the moon to have it. I am a free person who lives in a free country, so why don't I have a choice? I can't believe that medical marijuana is available and Vioxx is not."

"To me, Vioxx was the best medicine I have ever taken. At the time, I had lived with a damaged knee since I was 11 years old. I also live with L4-L5 herniated discs. Vioxx made me so very happy, as it took all my aches and pains away. I understand it was for the benefit of the people. It was a sad day for me, though. Wish it could be modified and return, as people such as me found it to be a wonder drug."

"I have had severe neck pain and couldn't move my left arm for a week and couldn't get relief with anything. I was given Vioxx by my doctor. It was a miracle drug and helped in a day or two. It worked great for me. Celebrex is similar and is still on the market, and I take it now."

"No better on pain relief than Aleve, but the worst heartburn I've ever had in my life - like someone set my stomach on fire within a couple of days of starting this medication. Taking 200 mg every other day made no difference. Switched to Mobic."

"Vioxx, in combination with hydrocodone, left me pretty much pain-free! Whether working on my feet, sitting at a desk, or taking care of my children and home, I felt great. Arthritis throughout my whole lumbar spine and both knees (have had one total knee replacement). I have not found anything that gave me that kind of pain relief. When Vioxx went off the market, I would have signed a release to keep it! Some things should be left up to the patient, especially if they are ready to accept the risks!"
