Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "Recently commenced on Lyrica 25 mg am/50 mg pm. - It is for nerve pain. Although I am experiencing side effects, drowsiness, slight dizziness, vomiting, to name a few, my pain has reduced significantly so far."

For Pain "Just started Lyrica for extreme pain in my thoracic spine after a workplace injury causing a muscular ligamentous tear of my medial scapula. I tried every sort of pain medication available with absolutely no relief. My Dr. prescribed Lyrica for me a few days ago and about 4 hours after the first dose I noticed a change in my level of pain. Had massive side effects though such as vertigo, dizziness, light-headed, blurred vision, etc. I did have a fever though from an unrelated condition so I'm not sure whether it is related to the Lyrica. I have continued taking this medication with the hope that the side effects ease and the pain remains minimal. I'm worried about weight gain that others are talking about. I've just lost 25kg, don't want it back."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "The pain in my right thigh was almost unbearable. It was all I thought of, day and night. I only slept at most 2 hours at a time before the pain would awaken me. After a week on Lyrica (75mg twice a day), there was tremendous relief, but I still had pain. Then I was put on 150 mg twice a day, and it was like a miracle. The pain was totally gone in a few days. I also take it for fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy. But the meralgia paresthetica saw the most dramatic improvement. No noticeable side effects, except a little dizziness the first few mornings."

Pregabalin for Neuralgia "It cured my pain (trigeminal neuralgia), but I had nasty side effects at first: mild headaches, nausea, tiredness, feeling too full and bloated (even when not eating), weight gain, dizziness, etc. I stuck with it, and after two weeks, I was still feeling bloated and had headaches, and I continued to gain weight. I researched ways to counteract the negative effects and started taking a B6 supplement (for weight gain) and an herbal diuretic (for the bloat). I no longer feel bloated, and the headaches are gone. I'm on my 4th (or 5th?) week of Lyrica, and I am feeling much better. I don't think I'm still gaining weight, but it's too soon to tell. I wasn't eating any more or less than usual, so if the B6 helps, that would be nice."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "Lyrica works. Unfortunately, I am on the verge of discontinuing use because of significant side effects. The most troubling for me are the eye disorders (conjunctivitis and blurred vision), and the dementia. I am 53 years old and I have trouble remembering elementary words! It's very embarrassing. I also have a significant taste disorder... many things taste like 'burnt garlic' to me... that's the best way I can describe it. Finally, I have facial bloating, weight gain, and dizziness. I have been on the maximum dose of Lyrica for chronic pain due to degenerative disc disease in my neck. I was willing to endure the weight and dizziness, but the eye, memory and taste problems are intolerable. Too bad, because Lyrica really helps pain."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I love pregabalin for the treatment of anxiety. It makes me feel light, chill, like everything is cool and I have the ability to deal with reality and people. It feels like it removes worry from my head. It can make you feel a bit dizzy (like a little buzz) on higher dosages, so I guess it’s all about finding the dosage right for each individual."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I have been taking 75mg twice per day now for 10 days. I have severe back pain from an injury. I did not think that such a small pill twice a day could help. I was ready to stop using it after three days because of the side effects of feeling totally 'out of it'. I had mood swings, dizziness, and confusion. Those side effects have now eased up, and my pain has become less severe. I have had weight gain and wonder if it causes water retention. I feel bloated. Hope this helps."

Pregabalin for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy "My husband suffers from neuropathy and his doctor put him on Lyrica 75mg twice a day. The side effects were horrible, he had to stop taking it immediately. He was dizzy, had headaches, was off balance, couldn't judge distance, and it looked to him like the walls and floors were moving."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "Dizziness, sleepiness while driving, I got used to it. It did wonders at first for my pain. I found it was effective, but I had to keep upping the dose. I struggled with keeping a job, I had balance issues and low potassium levels. I ended up in the hospital twice for two months. I was euphoric and also had angry outbursts, it was a strange combination. There were blisters on my chin, I was unbalanced and had swelling in my ankles. I had to stop it once I struggled with breathing. I also had jerkiness at night when sleeping, and it affected my eyesight dramatically-floaters and blurry vision followed by vertigo."

Pregabalin for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy "I recently started taking Lyrica for two herniated discs. The doctor said I have massive nerve damage that will result in surgery but suggested taking this medication temporarily until surgery because my pain was unbearable! At first, I was a little off-balance, but within a week, I wasn't constantly in pain... within a month, my pain was almost gone, and I refuse to do surgery now! Thanks, Lyrica, for making this happen!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "From England... I went onto Pregabalin 3 x 50g per day. I wasn’t sleeping due to stress and anxiety. It helped my sleep from the first night trying it - side effects were dizziness, swimmy head, and flatulence, a random swollen finger, and bad skin. These mostly passed after a few days (not the finger or wind!!) I had 2 good weeks where I felt like I was getting better, but then into the 3rd week I suddenly felt squashed of emotion, depressed, and had memory/concentration problems. The brain fog and anxiety were back and worse. I didn’t want to play about and up the dose, as I don’t think weighing it up it was worth it for me. I didn’t like not being able to remember the word I needed and it made my brain feel restricted. I am weaning off after 4 weeks by dropping a dose at a time and am having terrible mood swings and depression, muscle spasms in tummy, and headaches."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I started on Lyrica 5 weeks ago at 150mg daily, and felt no different. I started 100mg 3 times a day four days ago and gee what a difference it has made in my fibromyalgia and chronic neck and back pain and spinal arthritis. I already had dizziness and confusion, but it has not gotten worse. My hands are a little swollen and stiff in the mornings but it goes away soon. Loving it so far."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Lyrica 4 days ago to help with my fibromyalgia. I am to take 1 pill at bedtime for 5 days, then increase my dose to 1 in the morning as well. I've been taking it at night and experienced involuntary tremors, muscle spasms, twitching of my fingers, arms, and legs. The twitching is scary! It's involuntary, I have no control of my body when this happens. My leg started twitching, and it stuck straight up, waking me from a deep sleep! The twitching and tremors linger all day. Lyrica caused severe swelling in my feet, ankles, and legs. It's very uncomfortable. I also experienced loss of balance, dizziness, blurred vision, and ulcer sores on my tongue and in my mouth. I felt far better before taking this medicine. Needless to say, I'm no longer taking it."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I've been on Lyrica for a month now. 150 mg 2x a day. It works wonders for the awful muscle spasms and fibromyalgia pain, but I do have side effects. I have to do everything from chores to running errands before I take it. Once I take it, I become unbalanced, forget words, and become extremely tired. I sleep a lot and very heavily and usually can't remember the previous day. I definitely cannot function after I take it. I don't care for the side effects, but so far it has been the only thing that has worked for me. I tried Cymbalta, Neurontin, Zanaflex, Flexeril, lots of things. To me, it's worth taking the Lyrica as those terrible rib and back spasms keep at bay, and after two years of dealing with those, I don't ever want to again. By the way, it does kill my appetite."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I was having terrible back pain and chronic all-over pain when I started Lyrica. It has helped me a lot, but I still have the occasional flare-up. I also take Neurontin with Lyrica, and this combination does a pretty decent job of helping with my pain. I have tried Cymbalta and had a horrible three days of dizziness that almost caused me to hit a parked car. I was trying to suck it up and go to work but ended up on the couch the entire time because every time I sat up, the world spun, and I felt so disoriented and off-balance, like I had been drinking. I am very skeptical to try anything else because of the Cymbalta episode."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "I have had neuropathy for some time and tried a host of other medications before trying Lyrica. I was on it for slightly over 3 months, with my dosage starting at 75 mg twice a day to 300 twice a day. Initially, the pain was approximately 7-8, and the Lyrica got it to about a 5 routinely, with some days worse. However, I suffered from some of the side effects stated by its manufacturer, including dizziness, being off-balance at times, problems with sleep and concentration, and weight gain (approximately 20 pounds over 3 months) and its resulting effect on increasing my A1c. The worst part was an increase in anger. After no subsiding of the side effects, my doctor suggested I cease using it. We are looking for alternatives."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I took Lyrica for a couple of months. It helped with some of the fibro pain, and I felt tired and a little dizzy, along with having a dry mouth, which I expected as common side effects. What surprised me was I got new pains in new places-my big toe felt like it was on fire, and my lower back hurt badly. I started weaning off of Lyrica, and the new pains went away. I also had insomnia from the weaning process. I think it does work to dull the fibro pain, but not sure if it's worth it if there are new pains."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I've had fibromyalgia for ten years now, along with other health problems, and up until a week ago, I was using Flexeril and Cataflam to help with the pain and discomfort. Until last week, I was under a lot of stress at work, mind you, I teach infants and toddlers up to age 3, and I woke up one morning in pain. Pain over my entire body. Pain I have never felt before. I felt like I had a suped-up version of the flu. I went to work in tears and left in tears and headed straight to my doctor. I began Lyrica that day, and I was pretty out of it the first night and especially the next day when I took the next dose. I slept most of the first day, and the second day I was a little dizzy-headed and off balance. So far, Lyrica is working well."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "History of aches fatigue 10 years, mostly in early morning. I started taking Lyrica 50 mg just one week ago at 50 mg twice a day. Very slight dizziness with the first pill, however, 90 percent better within a couple of days. No more morning profound aches. More energy. Maybe a little too much energy. Going to try just an early morning low dose of 50 mg. Overall, I am very pleased."
