Pregabalin for Pain "I have been taking Lyrica for 3 months. I started at 50 mg x 3. Increased to 150 x 3 times a day a month later. I have had almost no pain since starting. The side effects have been extreme dizziness, edema in the feet, weight gain (about 15 lbs). At my last appointment, the doctor adjusted the dose to 50 mg x 4 times a day. The dizziness comes and goes. This is a great medicine for me. I can handle dizziness at this level."

Pregabalin for Neuropathic Pain "I’ve been taking 900 mg/day for about 18 months now for chronic lower back pain, and after 8 years of ongoing agony, I can honestly say that Lyrica is the only thing that has kept it under control. I stupidly weaned off it a few months ago after being without pain for so long and have recently had the most agonizing time without it. I am currently starting back on it at 300 mg each morning and night and am experiencing some dizziness and a ‘high’ feeling as my body readjusts, but I know that this is the only thing that’s going to keep the pain under control."

Pregabalin for Pain "I have been having pain for 5 months now after a bad dental experience. I thought it was my teeth that were causing all of my pain. I felt hopeless with no other options left. No dentists knew what to do. I went to my doctor and said I possibly have nerve damage from the numbing shot (I have permanent numbness too). This medicine has taken away my tingling feeling from the numbing (although it's still numb, it's not annoying). The shooting pain through my jaw is gone, and my throbbing is gone too. WONDERFUL. I do feel a little dizzy and loopy, but I'm so happy."

Pregabalin "My last doctor put me on Lyrica for Restless Leg Syndrome. I started on 75 mg, but the side effects were really bad, like dizziness and headaches. She then dropped the dose to 25 mg. They helped with the RLS, but the side effects are terrible, even though she insisted I keep taking it. I now see a much better doctor, and he was horrified I was even prescribed them. I now take Sifrol (pramipexole), and the side effects are not as bad, but they make me feel nauseous. I guess RLS is hard to treat."

For Fibromyalgia "Took first pregabalin dose at night, 150 mg. In the morning, I felt slightly drunk and numb, my pain had gone, and I was really happy about that, as I could do normal, everyday activities without pain. The feeling of dizziness goes away after a few weeks. At the beginning, I also had strange visions, but that also went away after two days. Overall, I think this is a great drug for pain and anxiety."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Lyrica for my fibromyalgia. The first pill made me very dizzy and nauseous. The second pill woke me up at 3 a.m. (I took it at 9:30 p.m.) with a terrible headache. I will not be taking any more. The irony is all of my pain is gone. I cannot live with the side effects though."

Pregabalin for Peripheral Neuropathy "75 mg made me uncoordinated, cross-eyed, and VERY sleepy. Did help the neuropathy but went back to gabapentin, on which I have no side effects at 200 mg x 3 a day. It doesn't completely take the tingling away, but enough so that I can work."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "I have been taking Lyrica for about 4 months now. While it does help with the pain, I feel like I'm walking on pillows. I'm constantly hungry, sleepy, dizzy, and I feel like I'm drunk. I worked VERY hard to lose the weight that I gained when I was pregnant, and since I've been on this medication, I've put it all back on and then some (40 lbs). It's hard to say if the pain is better or if I'm so caught up with the side effects that I don't care. I'm being weaned off of it right now and being put on a different medicine. I'd rather go back to the opiates and itch like crazy."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been on Lyrica for 1 month, starting at one 75 mg twice daily for two weeks, then stayed on 150 mg twice daily for two weeks. I had horrible side effects, so my doctor told me to split the morning dose that was 150 mg into taking 75 mg in the morning and 75 mg in the afternoon, then 150 at night. So the side effects got better. I suffered from extreme dizziness, increased anxiety, had a feeling my legs couldn't carry me, burning sensation throughout the whole body. After one month of medication, when side effects had gone away a little bit, I talked to my doctor, and he told me that since I still suffer from anxiety, we should increase the dose to 150/75/150. Side effects are back. I take oxazepam 30 mg to get through the worst side effects and am waiting for a better effect on anxiety. However, I am better than before."

For Fibromyalgia "Had fibromyalgia for 17 years, was just diagnosed, been bed bound, house bound, chronic pain. Started this 5 days ago, by 4th day feel energetic, happy, pain reduced, fatigue reduced, and I'm at last sleeping! Miracles do happen. First hour after taking, little dizzy, nauseous, but after that... Good to go!"

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "Been on Lyrica for 6 months now. 100 mg 2x daily. Has worked great for pain relief. Side effects for me include dizziness and blurred vision. Have tried to change to Savella to see if the same relief would happen without side effects, but after 3 days off Lyrica, I started to feel really bad. No weight gain, but I do stay very active."

Pregabalin for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy "What I've read so far is confusing. One said Lyrica can cause peripheral neuropathy, another said Lyrica was prescribed for it! I have diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I'm no longer a diabetic. I'm taking 100 mg of Lyrica twice a day, not sure it's really helping me. Some days and nights are so bad, I sleep sitting up on my couch. Don't like the dry mouth, dizziness, weight gain. I'm watching what I eat, some days certain foods bother me, other days the same food doesn't bother me, very frustrating!! I don't want to gain any more weight, afraid my diabetes will come back. I have had one treatment of Botox, it helped so the pain is not as severe. The doctor gave me very little medicine to start off with. My next appointment will be after 90 days, and I will ask for more of the medicine, hoping to get off Lyrica after this next treatment!"

For Neuropathic Pain "All pain is neuro (nerve) pathic (disorder). Anyway, I'm taking this for osteoarthritis. A dose of two 100 mg capsules really helps to make my knees less like the Tin Man's, i.e., not so stiff. However, at worst, it makes me very dizzy, so I try to take it only at night when I do not need to walk around so much. 100 mg does not make me as dizzy, but then it also does not work, so I have to bump it up to 200 mg. I have to give pregabalin a rating of 5 since the dizziness really is dangerous, particularly to an old person like me. For us Baby Boomer women, it's no longer Fear of Flying but Fear of Falling."

For Neuropathic Pain "My doctor prescribed 75 mg x 2 daily Lyrica after my last MRI scan confirmed protruding lower back discs that are pressing on nerves (something I have suffered with on and off for 20 years). Chemist gave me the generic Pregabalin. First day on the medication, I got a terrible headache. Second and third days I felt unsteady and dizzy, not unlike vertigo symptoms. By the end of the fourth day, the side effects had disappeared, and for no real reason, the pain in my lower back took a turn for the worse. I continued to take the Pregabalin for the next two weeks hoping for at least a little pain relief but none came. My doctor has advised me to stop taking it after I reported feeling worse since being on it, and he said 2+ weeks was sufficient time to know if it was going to be effective in pain relief or not. I honestly believe this medication made my back pain worse. I hope it is effective for others because sadly it didn't work for me."

For Fibromyalgia "This medicine is good. I can sleep, it helps with my pain at night. Unfortunately, I am very sensitive to medicines, and with 150 mg, I feel a little bit high and dizzy, but 0 pain, so I take 100 mg at night because I like to feel more in control, but still, I can sleep and it helps with pain. Also, I notice it helps with my GAD; I feel calm and without irritability. I have peripheral neuropathy in my arms, and it helps as well with it. I don't like the fact that I need to take medicine, but it is what it is, and so far, it has been the only medicine that takes away the pain. I also take duloxetine 20 mg; not sure yet if it is worth it, and Ultracet when I need it because I don’t take pregabalin during the day because it makes me sleepy, and I can’t think clearly, and I need to work. I give it an 8 because of the dizziness and the grogginess sensation."

For Pain "My doctor prescribed me to take 75 mg of Lyrica (pregabalin) for my back and neck pain. Now I can't wake up early in the morning, and I feel like I can't move my body. I feel so weak, I can't work well because I feel so dizzy. I need to take paracetamol because I've got a headache all the time. I have been taking this medication for 6 days, and I feel my pain is worsening. I can't recommend this medicine. But I hope as I'm taking this medication, it helps me to feel better."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "This gave me incredibly bad nightmares. Not read other reviews with this problem, but main reason I'm coming off it. Does help slightly with anxiety, but feel a bit too relaxed, not good for daytime and work. Does 150 mg taken at night also cause dizziness, and my eyes can't focus. Extremely groggy in the morning, not great for me."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "Methadone for 27 years for RLS, it has been wonderful. No side effects that I have noticed. Insurance and Kaiser Permanente is forcing me to withdraw from methadone and replace it with pregabalin, so I have been taking methadone and pregabalin at the same time; decreasing methadone while increasing pregabalin (currently 75 mg). This has been just one week, so I cannot give a fair evaluation, except I am sleepy all day with some dizziness."

Pregabalin "My doctor switched me from gabapentin to Lyrica for paresthesia (pins and needles like sensations). It was easily one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a drug. It dumped my BP into the toilet. Dizziness, loss of balance, nightmares, and nausea. To top it all off, it made the pain worse instead of better! Back to gabapentin for me. Lucky it was a free sample. This is some nasty stuff."

For Neuropathic Pain "I just took 150 mg that was prescribed to me because I’m out of my other medication I usually take. Do not do this to yourself unless you absolutely have to. Probably start with a lower dose. I feel like I am so drunk right now, and I don’t even drink anymore, ever. This has made my vertigo way worse. I feel like the room is spinning, and I’m having trouble walking. I hope this wears off soon. I will never take this again."

Pregabalin for Fibromyalgia "My doctor prescribed 75 mg twice daily. At first, I felt mild lightheadedness and dizziness but tolerated it much better than I thought I would. However, 2 months in, I gained 30 lbs! I voluntarily reduced my dose to once daily, and the weight gain stopped. However, pain is now more noticeable, and my restless legs got worse. Last night, I decided that mild weight gain is better than pain and restless legs, so I'll continue at my prescribed dosage."
