Pregabalin "I have been suffering from severe pudendal nerve damage pain and fibromyalgia for over 12 years. Vicodin, Percocet, Duragesic, OxyContin, injections, you name it. Lyrica 75 mg 2-3 x day has made the biggest difference in my life and pain in over 12 years. I can walk without a cane, and I feel like doing things. There was some initial weight gain, but that seems to have leveled off. I've been amazed and very pleased."

Pregabalin "I suffer from severe peripheral neuropathy. It is unusual in the sense that it is not diabetes caused, but is apparently idiopathic and hereditary. I have excellent relief from Lyrica with few side effects. I find myself nodding out occasionally at my computer or watching TV. I exercise more, drink more coffee, and allow more time for sleep. The more I take, the greater the relief. I take 400 mg per day."

Pregabalin "I took Lyrica for about 2 years and loved it. It helped my pain so much. I suffer from back pain and leg pain. I went from Topamax to Lyrica, and it was a big difference. I gained weight, about 20 lbs, but my problem was my insurance would not cover this medicine, and it doesn't have a generic. So I was having to pay almost $360.00/month for 60 pills. Couldn't afford it, so I've had to go back to Topamax. Now I've lost almost 30 pounds and don't like it as much as Lyrica, and it has more side effects. So stay with Lyrica if you can - it's a great medicine."

"I've only been taking Lyrica since Friday, but so far it's lessened my pain by about 85%. I have chronic back pain from a fall a few years ago. I've been on pain meds, had an epidural shot. Nothing seemed to help in the long term. The doctor only gave me samples but said if it helped, he would write a prescription. I hope my insurance will pay their part, without a fuss."

Pregabalin "Started on 75 mg twice daily, noticed some effect, just a tease or a promise. Upped it to 150 mg twice daily, and yes, it definitely works to eliminate 'one level of pain,' while leaving some 'levels of pain' still there. I do feel side effects of feeling calm while having more motivation for projects, some slight feeling of alcohol-like impairment (not so much after less than a week of 300 mg/day). I also occasionally use oral cannabis, and the Lyrica potentiates it quite a bit. I'm feeling very positive about this medicine, even though it doesn't get at all levels of my pain, I like what it does do for me."

"Taking pregabalin. Been on it for the 3rd day now. Dizziness, fever, horrible headache, light sensitivity, and no change in pain whatsoever. I have nerve pain because of a bulging disc and sciatica. Besides this pain, I was usually healthy. Getting off this thing as fast as possible after reading these comments."

Pregabalin "I think it's great. I was skeptical when my doctor prescribed it to me, as it is so unfamiliar to me, especially as a pain medicine. I thought I had tried everything. It is for chronic back pain due to a severe spinal injury I suffered two years and three surgeries ago. My pain has been steadily decreasing since I started taking this medication four days ago. Thank Science."

Pregabalin "I've had back pain from degenerative discs since 1998. After all the usual treatments, such as chiropractic, physical therapy, injections, etc., I had an L4/L5 fusion on 02/09. It helped a little, but I still had substantial back pain requiring Ultracet 3x per day and Lortabs when pain peaked. I have been on Lyrica 75mg 3x per day for the past 11 days. It really reduced the pain the first few days, but the pain came back a bit. Still, the Lyrica is helping, and I've not had to take the Lortabs since starting Lyrica. I'm going to stick with Lyrica for a few more weeks before deciding to try more injections or other medicines."

Pregabalin "I have spondylosis of the whole spine and lumbar degeneration. I've been on Lyrica for a few months, 75 mg, 3 times a day. It helps my range of motion at my knees, helps to walk up stairs, and also no pain when I push for bowel movement."

"I have been on pregabalin for three weeks now. We (Doc and I) are slowly increasing the dose. I have AS and have awful pain in the sciatic nerve down my hip and leg and into my knee, plus the pain in my spine from shoulder to hip is unbearable in the base of my spine, and electric shocks if I moved the wrong way, the whole deal. I could hardly walk and was bent over in pain. Pregabalin is really helping the pain, it has not disappeared, but it’s becoming more bearable as we increase the dose. The only side effects I have had were a little dizziness in the first day or two of taking it and feeling tired, but this wore off about day three to four. I use a low dose of tramadol with it at night, and I haven’t slept so well in years. Well worth trying and persevering over the first few days as your body gets used to it."

Pregabalin "Finally, a medicine prescribed by my psychiatrist that is non-narcotic and actually works. Due to a severe auto accident fifteen years ago, I am now 40 years old, and having suffered a closed head injury, fractured pelvis, four fractured ribs, and a tailbone fracture. I have suffered with chronic pain mostly my adult life. I have undergone nearly every pain management regime one can think of: epidural nerve blocks, rhizotomy, physical therapies, and of course every narcotic medicine that was available. Yet within just a few months, and after all these years, the doctor and I have finally found a medication regimen that truly works! Lyrica 75 mg 2x a day and MS 60 mg 2x daily. And since starting Lyrica, my acute pain episodes are less frequent."

"I have had back pain 24/7 for 3 years. Tried everything you can imagine. Out of all the medications and other treatments, pregabalin helps the most. After a week, my spine, nerves, and muscles felt less pain. Kind of feels numb now? My chronic restless legs have calmed by 80%. My fibromyalgia is better 60%. Not sure yet if it is helping with anxiety as I take lorazepam. Today, I'm trying to drop the lorazepam. See how it goes. It does cause constipation, so I have another pill for that. Overall, I am having a positive result with pregabalin."

Pregabalin "I just started using this drug 3 days ago. I have been suffering with horrible pain from a herniated disc over the past 2 months. Tried hydrocortisone shots in my back, and the pain went away for 3-4 days. I've been on Vicodin and Skelaxin, as well as Aleve twice a day. I've had to take my Vicodin every 4 hours instead of every 6 hours because the pain has been so bad. Just in the last 48 hours, I've noticed such a difference with Lyrica. I keep waiting for the pain to be there, but it is not. I'm still titrating my way up on the dosage, but in another day or two, my maximum dose will be 50 mg 3 times a day. Currently, I'm taking 50 mg 2 times a day. It really works."

"On Lyrica 100 mg for about 3 years, controls my lower abdomen pain--related/referred to back pain. I have been on the generic pregabalin 100 mg for 8 days, and pain started to come back. Took 50 mg of the real stuff, and pain went away until about 24 hours later. Will be experimenting with it for the next few days to see what happens-but I'm concerned. I was expecting it to work since I have used generic drugs in the past and noticed no difference. It's a big cost savings for me: $10 vs. $50/month-but I'll pay extra to have no pain. I am adding to this to see if there are more than 2 of us with this problem."

"I found pregabalin helped the pain from my spinal stenosis, but the anxiety and depression that it caused meant I had to reduce the amount I took. I think it works for some people, but for anyone suffering from depression, it makes it 100 times worse."

Pregabalin "I was given this medication for pain after suffering from two herniated disks. The medication worked great, but I did not know how good until my doctor took me off of it, and my pain returned to its debilitated state."

Pregabalin "I have had a fusion of L4 and L5 in 2004, was doing fine until last year when I began to have pain in my low back and right leg, accompanied by numbness and tingling down the leg. I also managed to severely rupture a few discs in my neck while stretching, of all things. Was misdiagnosed by the surgeon, who only fixed one of the ruptures with a fusion of C7. Of course, this still left me with pain and numbness from my neck down both arms. About a month or so ago, I switched to a spine and pain management doctor, and he put me on Lyrica (75 mg 3x daily) and a Duragesic patch. These two drugs have worked wonders for my pain and quality of life. The only side effect is that my short-term memory is a little sketchy, and my mind doesn't want to shut down."

"I spent nearly every evening for three months talking to a friend coming off this nasty drug. He was suicidal a lot of the time. He said it completely messed him up, and he’s never been right since. Horrendous withdrawals that go on for months. Please stay away from this. I’ve listened to a friend coming off it. It’s really scary."

Pregabalin "I have a bad lumbar disc L5-S1 in my low back, which needs to be removed. I'm taking Lyrica because it helps keep the pain from going down my leg. Lyrica works great. If it wasn't for Lyrica, I wouldn't be walking."

"I had a hip replacement 10 weeks ago. I'm 46. Hip feels fantastic, but my calf muscles and shins are aching constantly, and my left foot was numb after surgery. (Nerve damage?) Since week 8, it was getting worse, so I was prescribed pregabalin to try. Within 1 hour, I have gotten relief. Hopefully, it works as I swim 2 times a week and was back nursing at week 6. Fingers crossed."

Pregabalin "I have severe pain in my legs and chronic fatigue. Been going to doctors for over a year, have had 3 MRIs, and gallons of blood taken and tested. Yet, nobody knows the source of these symptoms. Due for a muscle biopsy soon. While taking tramadol and hydrocodone, had great results for energy and pain, I became dependent. I was prescribed Lyrica 50 mg about 2 months ago and felt a little relief. Doctor raised the dosage, and now I take 150 mg 3 times a day, and the results are amazing. I'm alert, energetic, and pain-free. Have a little dizziness now and then, but this medicine is great."

"I didn't like this big time. It didn't help with pain at all, but made me feel like, you know when your hand falls asleep and you kind of feel it, but it feels numb at the same time? So, this is how I felt. I barely was able to get up this morning. Now I am trying to get out of this condition and wonder how long this pill works. Also, I feel nauseated. I already had tea and breakfast, about to have coffee. I feel like a jellyfish on the beach. I am going to call the pharmacist and ask how long this affects the body because I want to feel normal again. And as for pain, big fat 0. No help at all."

"I take pregabalin at bedtime for fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, vulvodynia, and after-effects of artificial disc replacement, which include restlessness in my right arm and right leg (my neck was cut on my right side), pain in my right leg, right hip pain, as well as pain in both shoulders, especially bursitis in one shoulder. Pregabalin is no cure, but it has made my bed feel more comfortable and improved my sleep. I'm a wuss with side effects, so I started at the lowest dose of 25 mg the first night, then 50 mg the next two weeks and 75 mg the last four weeks. I tried taking a dose in the morning, but it zapped me, so I just keep moving during the day. The side effects of headaches, thirst, and constipation have improved with time. I tried gabapentin multiple times and never could get past the awful side effects, even at a low dose."

Pregabalin "I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I have joint and tendon pain just about everywhere, but mainly in hands, wrists, forearms, legs, and feet. I have been on Oxy ER 80 mg 2x a day and was still not getting full relief (4 out of 10) and having difficulty remembering. The doctor added Lyrica 75 mg 2x a day three months ago, and the day after, I felt euphoric. I felt no pain! After one week, some pain came back, but no peaks as before. Some weight gain. Want to get off of Oxy and try Lyrica or other non-narcotic drugs."

"I had a thoracic spinal cord injury that left my legs numb and resulted in musculoskeletal pain as a result of poor body mechanics. I took gabapentin for 6 months, but I developed clinical depression and suicidal ideation (I never had a mental health disease prior). Switched to Lyrica. The depression left, but my legs felt like they were shot up with novocaine, and I could not feel my feet at only 50 mg a day. Fell three times in the first week. No thanks."
