For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I used this medication yesterday, and it made me extremely ill. I have chronic constipation, but Metamucil usually gives me good relief. My doctor recommended I try Trulance, and it was a big mistake. I had severe stomach cramps within two hours and then had severe diarrhea for at least four hours. I also became nauseated within this time. I thought that Trulance was advertised to work differently than a laxative, but it does not. Its effects were worse than the strongest laxative I have ever taken. The effects were most comparable to a stomach virus. Think hard and beware before you use this medication."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "An absolute miracle. Don't let the negative reviews scare you. I am highly intolerable of laxatives in all forms, but I found if I split the pill and take it every other day, it works perfectly. No multi trips to the bathroom, no pain or nausea from it. Some grumbling after 30 minutes, then within two hours, complete evacuation and total relief!! The pill crumples easy when split, so use a pill splitter."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I see good and bad comments. I’m going to share mine. I received samples for Trulance. I started taking this as my last resort to a total colectomy. The first few days, within one hour, I had bowel movements, wow! Day 5, nothing. Doubled over in pain. Dizziness, fatigue, depression, severe migraines, nausea. This went on for two more days, had to stop when my face swelled up. This was an awful drug for me. Take with caution. Took days to get out of my system."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I've been on Linzess for years now for my IBS-C. My insurance decided to deny me and make me try Trulance. I'm on day 2, and I've never felt so sick from a medication in my life. The nausea, bloating, and nasty belly pains are so bad today. It's to the point that I'm running to the bathroom and not knowing which end it's coming out of. Dealing with this while working is not easy. Had explosive diarrhea, and now I have the shakes and feel so weak. By the way, nausea is at an all-time high as well. My stool is now pale in color. I'm all set with this drug! No thank you!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Trulance is horrible. This is not helping my IBS-C at all, it's making it worse. After years of use, BCBS PPO denied me refills for Linzess. I feel horrible. After 3 days, I will stop the meds. I have diverticulitis and am a gastric bypass patient for 1 year. I have to get relief somehow!!!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I can't have a functional life while taking Trulance. It starts with hours of bubble guts leading to hours of watery diarrhea. Nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath. I feel too sick to eat. It's not possible to leave the house in this condition!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I take Motegrity daily and just started Trulance every other day. I have a bowel movement within an hour of taking the Trulance. I was using Amitiza and Motegrity, but it was slow to work. I also tried Linzess in the past, which made me super nauseous and abdominal pain. I am getting some diarrhea from the Trulance, but I’m hoping my body gets more used to it with time."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I’ve had constipation for as long as I can remember. Things would work, but my body would get used to them, and it would stop. I have IBS with constipation. I take muscle relaxers, but not every day. When I took Trulance, my first few days I had to wear a diaper to bed! Then if I took it every few days, it worked better. Then it didn’t work. Now I’m taking it every day. I am very bloated, nauseous, and have pain in my colon. I was hoping this would be the answer. Linzess did nothing. The doctor couldn’t believe it! Me neither."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Do not take this medication under any circumstances. I paid $500 for an RX, took 1 pill in the late evening. Woke up at 3 am with bedclothes and bedding soaked with diarrhea, leaving an embarrassing and unsanitary condition that took hours to clean up. The problem did not stop there. The 'cleansing' went on for three solid hours non-stop. I have been nauseous and without appetite for 4 days. Lost 4 pounds from my normal body weight of 98. My insurance company insisted I try this instead of my regular medicine, which I have taken for years, or they would not cover my regular prescription. This medicine is poison for people with my issue. Now I am out $500 to satisfy big pharma's need for a 'trial' victim."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "2 days of this medicine and I have been extremely sick! Nonstop going to the bathroom, cramping, nausea. It's unreal. I'm skeptical to stop because what if I needed the cleanse? But I can't take this sickness."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I’ve taken Trulance for a little over a year now, and what once was an answer to my prayers is now nothing but a waste of time. I was going regularly for the first 10 months or so. Today is day 4 without going. I have pain, bloating, irritability, nausea, and just want to cry. I asked my doctor if this is normal after taking it for this long and was told they have heard that happens. Sadly, I am back to square one."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I’ve been on Trulance for almost 3 full months now. I’ve had IBS for over 10 years and tried every medicine, supplement, and over-the-counter type of relief, most of which never worked. Trulance has given me great results, almost every single day. Still, 1 day a week or so I’m constipated. I do experience the side effects of cramping and bloating all day after the medicine and sometimes nausea. Some days I’m in the bathroom 2-5 times, and sometimes it’s just diarrhea, but it’s not too bad. I’m still trying to figure out how to manage these symptoms, but they are much more welcome than the pain and agony I felt constipated for a week at a time. Hopefully, I can get used to the side effects because this is the only thing that works for me, and I don’t want to stop taking it. I usually take it on an empty stomach, I’ll try it with food. Overall, happy with Trulance!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I've been suffering with chronic constipation since I was born. The last 2 years have been very rough. I was diagnosed with IBS-C. I deal with chronic nausea day and night, constant bloating like I'm 9 months pregnant, and severe constipation. I literally will not have a bowel motion (BM) unless I take a laxative, and I'll only have a small BM, leaving me with no relief or very minimal relief. I tried everything on the shelves, I was taking 4 capfuls of Miralax a day. One doctor had me drink an entire bottle. I've taken Linzess, Amitzia, everything. A doctor tried me on Trulance. The first 2 weeks were great, I thought I found my miracle drug. I was having full, complete bowel movements. My bloating went all the way down to the point I lost weight. I was 180 lbs with bloating, after the relief from Trulance, I'm 173 lbs. When I ate, I didn't feel overstuffed or the feeling of food just sitting in my stomach... Trulance has stopped working, and I'm once again backing up."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I have struggled with IBSC and chronic constipation most of my life. It’s not uncommon for me to go to the bathroom once every 8-10 days, no matter how much I change up my diet or drink water. Trulance is the only medication that has worked for me. I’d say to give the medicine about a week before you make a final decision on it. First night taking it, and if I skip doses and allow my bowels to fill up, it causes me stomach cramps and nausea (same thing I’m used to with IBSC anyways). However, if you take it regularly, all the not-so-great symptoms go away! One downside is that when taking this medication, you should plan on being in the house for a few hours afterward, you’ll be running to the bathroom constantly for at least an hour once it starts working, and it usually takes about 2 hours to take effect for me. For me, the side effects are well worth the results!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I have had severe chronic constipation since childhood. OTC medications, herbal supplements, teas, dietary changes, etc. never provided a consistent solution. Pros: Trulance has changed my bowel habits entirely. From 1 bowel movement bi-weekly to 3-4 a week. It has significantly reduced symptoms of bloating, nausea, vomiting. Cons: The most foul, putrid-smelling flatulence and diarrhea upon starting the medication. Urgency. Make sure you take it at night when you are in the comfort of a nearby bathroom with baby wipes."
