Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "Was in so much pain and the need to urinate was SO strong for hours. Took pyridium and like 1.5 hours later I felt WORLDS better! I would have given it a 10 if it worked a bit faster, but seriously, I was miserable and it helped so much!"

Azo-Standard (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "I've always had good luck using this for bladderpain...although I read where the active ingredient phenazopyridine HCl. Has been found to cause intestinal cancer in laboratory rats and liver cancer in lab mice...this is concerning to me and should very well be to all. Just an FYI."

Uristat (phenazopyridine) for Interstitial Cystitis "My sister is in town trying to find Uristat; she has been to 2 drug stores. No luck. I have used this product for 40 years. Description says does not cure Urinary tract infection. This is a misnomer. This is a wonderful product with no side effects and I am very sensitive to medication. I rate this very, very highly."

Uricalm (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "This message is VERY IMPORTANT: As soon as you feel even the slightest bit discomfort you must take these pills because they take even up to 45 minutes to really kick in. You MUST take them with food, and I mean like as much as a meal or similar or you WILL get very sick. BUT this is the best pain relief I have ever felt. Once you take them they last all day and eliminate any pain including while you’re peeing. Yes they do make you lower back a little sensitive but it’s worth the relief this medicine brings. I like to eat breakfast, pop two in my mouth and sit in a hot relaxing bath til they kick in and it works wonders, really great! I highly recommend using this medicine!"

Azo-Standard (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "This medicine is a God send! I'm 20/F 140lbs and I frequently have pain at the very bottom of my urethra which Azo soothes every time. However it makes me quite nauseous if I don't take it right after eating and it makes my mouth taste strange and chemical-y. If you are considering taking this, make sure you stock up on black panties (or jammies) as it will stain everything."

For Interstitial Cystitis "I am a 57 yr old female, suffer from interstitial cystitis for the past 5 years. First and foremost DIET is key, no orange juice, grapefruit, spices, cranberries and cranberry juice is the worst for I.C sufferers. Cranberry is great for urinary tract infections but NOT for I.C, also Azo is NOT for I.C, it has cranberry in it. Only Uristat works for I.C, unless of course you are allergic to it or have stomach upset. Take 4 saltine crackers before taking, I have a very sensitive stomach and this works for me"

Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Interstitial Cystitis "This did nothing for the cramping and pain. In fact, I had horrible GI gas and stomach issues while taking it. I thought I had a stomach virus but when I stopped the Pyridium, the stomach distress went away."

Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "I have interstitial cystitis and also just finished a Z Pack for a sinus infection. I got a yeast infection and was in desperate pain, extreme burning , swelling etc. I took a 200mg Pyridium pill and cut in half, as I remember how nauseated it had formerly made me. I weigh 110lbs and I am sensitive to most medicines, so I like to start smaller. I suggest you take it with food as it says that it doesn't interfere with the affect it has. Will make your urine bright orange, so watch your white clothes."

For Interstitial Cystitis "I have IC, and sometimes it is unbareable. I have prescription strength 200 mg tabs. I take one of those along with an antihistimine, and drink a big glass of water. Fight the urge to urinate for about an hour. Put heat on the bladder or take a hot bath. Finally when I urinate i feel relief. Still fight the urge and urinate at most once an hour. The flareup should calm. This medicine is literally a lifesaver for IC. I only take the medicine during a flareup, not a regular medication."

Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "Many years ago I was prescribed Pyridium for UTI. I took one tablet. What I experienced was not a allergic reaction. I am a nurse and honestly the only way I can describe what happened is ‘every cell in my entire body wanted Pyridium OUT!’ Like Kryptonite to Superman, I honestly believe if I ever took it again I would die. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Even handling Pyridium makes me nervous. It has been over 25 years ago."

Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "I’ve been having frequent UTI'S and at it’s worst I will have hematuria (blood in urine), intense bladder cramps, and insane burning. When it gets like this, nothing brings relief as it’s just constant pain and burning in all positions. Frequent urination but the blood makes it so intense. Pyridium has been my saving grace with it. I always take it with food. I took it once without and did get dizzy. It completely calms down my bladder and takes away the burning. Makes me feel like I don’t even have an UTI. I don’t notice any side effects with it which is odd as I usually am sensitive to medications. It does make your pee bright orange and super duper quickly. I’ve never stained anything with it though. It also makes the peeing frequent stop."

Uristat (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "My Dr said to try this. Said it would work better than AZO. It helped a bunch with the burning. ( my Dr gave me antibiotics to take with this) I noticed muscle cramps. It's the only new thing I am taking. Its not the antibiotics cause I've taken it before and had no problem. Muscle pain on both arms and hands lower back cramps and both legs are cramping. Anyone else had this problem?"

Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "This is a magical medicine! Had a very bad bladder infection and couldn't get out of the bathroom! After 2 doses I had COMPLETE relief! Turns your urine highlighter orange but it's so worth it! I don't know how I ever got through a urinary tract infection without it!"

For Interstitial Cystitis "Since entering menopause, I find I come down with urinary tract infections more frequently. At the first sign of discomfort, I start with cranberry juice and Azo. The cranberry juice helps make my urine more acidic (inhibiting bacteria) and the Azo calms my bladder and relieves the urgency and pain. The only downside (if you want to call it that) is that it turns your urine dark yellow and can stain, but it's definitely worth it)."

Uricalm (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "I went to the store as soon as I had discomfort and saw that these were a higher dosage so I bought them. The first time it helped a little. I've been taking them 3 times a day for a couple of days and all they've done is change the color of my pee and possibly caused excruciating lower back pain as well as abdominal pain."

For Interstitial Cystitis "I have IC that flares with my endometriosis during periods. They are common co-morbid conditions and it causes burning when I urinate. However, I never have a UTI. I've usually just suffered through it until my period ended, but I remembered AZO made this wonderful product similar to the prescription that my gynecologist gave me and it helped immensely. No more burning when I pee! You do have to wear a pad and underwear that you don't care about if it gets stained because the pee turns BRIGHT orange, but it's a small price to pay. So happy to feel better."

Azo-Standard (phenazopyridine) for Interstitial Cystitis "I have had Interstitial Cystitis (IC) for decades now. Soon after diagnosis, I was I terrible shape and severe pain all the time. I went to a GYN who specialized in IC and had DMSO treatments. They helped tremendously. I also started to do treatments at home. It is difficult to do by yourself but helps to ease the pain! After that period, it was trial and error on meds and foods and I ended up taking Vesicare (generic form). Try to manage citrus, spicy, and particularly tomatoes but I love them. I adore fresh summer tomatoes and Italian food. I pay the price when I eat them too close together or too much but AZO saves the day when I start burning! Nothing like those little red pills and you can get them OTC. Now, the main problem I have is bladder control; more specifically, no bladder control. The urge comes suddenly and many times I don’t make it Looking for answers."

For Interstitial Cystitis "I had my first near "kill-me-now" flare this afternoon. Posted about it on facebook and someone recommended AZO. I drove to the pharmacy in excruciating pain; I couldn't walk in so I made them get it for me at the pickup window. Downed 2 pills in the parking lot and by the time I got home 5 minutes later, glorious relief. Why did my urologist not tell me about this when I called him today? "

Azo Urinary Pain Relief (phenazopyridine) for Interstitial Cystitis "I’ve used this product Azo Urinary Pain Relief for UTI pain years ago and thought it helped so I tried it again when a UTI occurred again 2 years later. I cannot say if this product caused this reaction, but I got pale and very close to passing out about an hour after taking 2 tablets. The infection was being treated and I can think of no other cause for this very scary experience. I ended up at the hospital. Oddly my low blood pressure was super high and I don’t think nervousness alone could cause an increase from normal 110/70 to 160/139. So use caution with this. I know I’ll never try it again!"

For Interstitial Cystitis "The active ingredient for temp relief burning, urgency of cystitis/UTI is PHENAZOPYRIDINE 97.5 mg. Formerly, Pyridium. Typically taken with powerful antibiotic. You/ObGyn can do a strip test to see if situation requires antibiotics; WARNING-since flouroquinolones have proven toxic to thousands, insist on alternative. TIPS: Wipe front to back. Partners bathe before sex. Urinate after sex. Male hands and nails clean/ smooth before foreplay. No sex after BM unless both bathed! Drink water all day. D-Mannose is the best natural cure(Health food). I'm sorry for your discomfort. The man must understand, he has to keep very clean, too! Use condom if he has BPH(retrograde ejaculation)."

Uricalm (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "This is the perfect medicine to help get over UTI symptoms. Now remember, this medication is only a pain reliever. If you have any of the symptoms that Uricalm relieves, go see a doctor!! If you have an infection you MUST to take antibiotics or it will only get worse and enter your kidneys...(which can be way way way more painful than a bladder infection) Uricalm does not treat underlying problems. But, is a life saver in the healing process!!!! I immediately lost the urgency of having to urinate, I was able to urinate and feel like I had emptied my bladder completely, and the burning sensation was gone. I Highly recommend it if your struggling with harsh symptoms."

Preferred Maximum Strength Urinary Pain Relief (phenazopyridine) for Interstitial Cystitis "I am only 21 years old. I was diagnosed with IC. I wouldn't say I like taking AZO standard maximum pain relief, but it has been the only thing that helps. I have to take the prescribed amount every few months. Each time I have a flare-up, the side effects of AZO has gotten worse. When I first started to take it, I had no side effects from it. It has been a few years now, and every time I have to take it, the side effects keep getting worse. I feel fatigued, nausea, dizziness; all I want to do is lay in bed and not move. I don't think I am supposed to be taking it as often as I am and has taken a toll on my body. It is literally the only thing that helps."

Uricalm (phenazopyridine) for Dysuria "I’m have chronic frequency and urgency due to having had six children and also MS. I tried this medication for the first time today while on a road trip. I am truly stunned by how well this works. I previously did not know what it’s like to urinate without pain. I’m someone going to bathroom every hour on the hour. This has been an amazing vacation from my normal burdensome symptoms. I’ve only taken the one dose thus far, and it worked immediately. A far cry from the AZO supplement which did nothing for me."
