For Oral Thrush "I'm on my second bottle. Thrush is still there. Tongue feels numb, and I was told to swallow the nystatin after swirling it around in my mouth. Ever since then, I feel nauseous all the time. So, definitely not working for me."

For Oral Thrush "I ended up with thrush after being on antibiotics, and my tongue had blisters. It felt like fiberglass on my tongue, the pain was so bad. I was prescribed Nystatin 4 times a day, started taking it on a Monday, it's now Friday of the same week, and my thrush is almost completely gone, blisters healed, and no pain. However, the banana flavor is one of the most foul things my taste buds have ever tasted, it's disgusting. It has also made me very nauseous. I thought the nausea I had from Lexapro was bad, nothing compared to this. I've lost 10 lbs from not eating because of how gross it makes me feel. Good for the thrush, but let's just say I can't wait to stop taking this."

For Oral Thrush "I mix the oral nystatin with baby Benadryl 10 ml to let it have a better taste and avoid nausea. My throat is so sore that I had to go back on it. My immune system is low and I have a swollen lymph node under my arm. Benign diagnosis for cancer. Three days later, this thrush infection came, so indeed my immune system is not working well. Caution: Benadryl makes you rest, drowsy."

For Oral Thrush "Nystatin is the worst treatment option available for oral thrush. This medication caused me to feel nauseated, gave me a severe migraine, fever, dizziness, and upset stomach. I had to stop taking it. The Daktarin Oral gel is discontinued in the UK, this was the only thing that works!!!! Three courses of Fluconazole antibiotics I’ve taken due to my intolerance to Nystatin and nothing else is working. A waste of NHS money and time. Before, you could walk in and buy Daktarin from a pharmacy and actually treat the issue. Instead, I have had to go through numerous GP and pharmacy visits and medications, each time feeling awful, and still, I can’t get rid of the oral thrush. GPs and pharmacists all seem surprised that I had such a severe reaction to this medication, however, a bit of research online suggests others are also suffering the same side effects."

For Oral Thrush "I've been using Nystatin suspension to cope with the oral thrush I get from all of the prednisone I have to take. I've got systemic lupus, and my kidneys went and started to fail. The prednisone is a lifesaver for me, but the thrush hurts. Thanks to the Nystatin, the thrush is coming under control. My only gripe is that the Nystatin is starting to make me nauseous, really nauseous. I don't need extras nausea. Between the lupus and the prednisone, my stomach is already hooped. I do love how fast the Nystatin started giving me relief from the thrush, though. I can sing again!"
