For Osteoarthritis "I found that Mobic 15 mg is the only medication that takes away my pain, and it does it within an hour! Caution: I didn’t know it was an NSAID and also took another NSAID - Aleve (naproxen) with it. My entire body was bruised, and I couldn’t figure out why at first. I’m lucky I made it through. I only take it as needed when the pain is unbearable."

For Fibromyalgia "I have been on Mobic since 2000. I have asked about new medications (which we now have 2 new ones that came out in 2009) but the side effects are a real concern for me. I have not had a good experience with Mobic. It does get me through the day, but my pain increases every month. I am at the point now that it is really affecting my personal life with my husband, and he really does not understand the extent of the pain. I need a drug without harmful side effects. I want to protect my liver as much as possible. Please come up with a drug for fibromyalgia. I would hate to know that I have to live on pain pills the rest of my life."

For Osteoarthritis "I was hit by a car over 10 years ago and have severe back pain because of it. I kept being prescribed opioids for the pain, but I can’t live like that, so my doctor prescribed Mobic since I was taking too many ibuprofen a day and it obviously started upsetting my kidneys. First, he gave me 7.5 mg per day, but that wasn’t nearly enough, so he upped me to 2 a day. It makes me feel good, better than anything else I’ve ever taken for my back pain. However, it only lasts an hour or two. If I wanted to be without unbearable pain all day, I’d have to take more of them. But 2 works for now, and it is wonderful!"

"When I began taking Mobic (7.5 mg twice a day) for my sciatica and lower back pain, I felt like I was 10 years younger. I experienced greater flexibility and generally felt good all over. However, after a couple of months on this dosage, I began to experience dizziness and shortness of breath. My doctor found that I was very anemic due to blood loss somewhere in my body to the point where I had to be hospitalized and received 2 units of blood. I had no history of ulcers or other internal bleeding. In addition to taking the maximum dosage of Mobic, I was also taking a baby aspirin once a day. My advice is to take as small a dose as possible for as short a time as possible and NEVER use it when taking aspirin."

For Osteoarthritis "Mobic has been great for my arthritis. I've had Mobic prescribed by several different doctors over the past 10 years and 1) haven't had a problem with it, and 2) it's one of the only medications that helps with my arthritis, which I have in just about every joint but my elbows. Ibuprofen works too, but I started retaining fluid and swelling up after taking it off and on for several years. Hope nothing similar happens with Mobic, as it's a godsend."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Sciatica: I've had injections, epidurals in my spine, inversion tables, chiropractic adjustments, and plenty of prednisone, and nothing worked. I've been on Mobic for 10 days, and already the numbness and burning in my left leg are subsiding greatly. It also seems to help with arthritis in some joints. So far, I'm pretty impressed."

"I have a severe case of tennis elbow, so I tried acetaminophen, naproxen, ibuprofen, and none of them provided any relief. Then my orthopedist prescribed Mobic... it's done wonders! I'm 42 years old, 5'7'', and 180 pounds, and he prescribed 7.5 mg. The pain is almost entirely gone after only three days of taking the drug. Taking Mobic has allowed me to sleep at night!"

"I have been having severe hip pain for over 9 months now. Did physical therapy, no change. Taken Motrin, naproxen, ice - nothing relieved the pain. Couldn't even stand, sleep, or get out of my car without pain, and I'm only 32. I've been taking Mobic for 1 day and already feel 95 percent better."

For Osteoarthritis "I used Mobic for 1 year, with great results for knee pain and no side effects. The orthopedic surgeon would not continue the prescription for fear of long-term effects. Knee pain returned within 5 days. I will consult with my primary care doctor for a new prescription."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I used this medication for about a year for bursitis in my left shoulder. When taken regularly, it did help reduce my pain quite a bit. I could definitely tell when I did not take it every day. The pain would return pretty badly. I did not want to take cortisone shots, so this worked well for me."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I rate Mobic a 10! For the past four months, I have been in tremendous pain and could barely walk, sit, or get out of the bathtub, and my hands were extremely stiff. I also could not sleep at night due to pain. Mobic has truly helped me. I have my life back! It is truly incredible. I do, however, take Prilosec to coat my stomach before taking it. I've only been taking this medicine for two days. I have NO pain."

For Osteoarthritis "I have had awful foot pain for over 10 years and have tried many medicines. My doctor suggested Mobic, and it did wonders for my pain. I have been on it for 5 days now and cannot believe the difference it has made. I can now walk without shuffling around because of pain. Side effects are mild for now. I have a light headache from time to time and ear pressure. Hope that improves. I take 7.5 twice a day since 15 seemed to make side effects worse. A nice surprise every time I get up to walk and feel little or no pain."

For Osteoarthritis "Just started Mobic this week, and I've already gained 4 minutes back on my nightly walk. I'm 32 and suffer from severe osteoarthritis in my hips. I haven't noticed much change in my swelling, but am already sleeping for longer periods of time."

For Osteoarthritis "It made me gain weight, about 40 lbs, and cause acne. Other than that, it worked very well for my osteoarthritis in my neck. I have a fusion and have not been the same since. This medicine helped me with my pain. I got my life back. I still can't do everything, but my pain is so much better!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I started taking this medicine to help with carpal tunnel issues I was having. The doctor had me taking 15-30 mg a day, which I see, according to this site, is more than I'm supposed to have. It helped the carpal tunnel and has done wonders for my knee pain. It only helps mildly with my hand pain (arthritis). As far as side effects, it has affected my bowel motions, and I don't always have much warning before I need to take one."

For Fibromyalgia "I've had fibromyalgia for over 8 years, and my doctor put me on Mobic 8 months ago, and it worked great. However, I am not sure if it is no longer working or if my myalgia is getting worse because I have had to change my medication recently. It works great for inflammation, but it doesn't work alone to help fight all the symptoms."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have tried Mobic for quite some time and just recently switched to Celebrex. Pros: Mobic is cheap but ineffective. Pain is still horrible. When I switched to Celebrex, it made a huge difference. The con of Celebrex is it's expensive but effective."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I recently started taking Mobic for my back pain. It makes almost all of the pain go away and still allows me to be able to safely care for my daughter. The only side effect I have experienced is discomfort in my stomach after taking it, but it's much better than the back pain I was experiencing."

For Osteoarthritis "I was started on meloxicam 5 weeks ago for bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in both knees. NSAIDs and topicals and PT did not help. Now I can walk in the grocery store with much less pain and sleep without my knee pain waking me up. Well tolerated so far. I am hoping this will help delay a knee replacement. I am taking 15 mg per day."

For Osteoarthritis "First one that I have found working for the pain and the inflammation in my knees, elbows, shoulders, etc. I am 36, and I was tested about three weeks ago, but before I was tested, I was already taking Mobic, and it worked better than all the other medicines that I was taking for my arthritis. When my test came back, it showed that I was full-blown with arthritis and borderline rheumatoid arthritis."

For Inflammatory Conditions "My primary care doctor prescribed Mobic for my lower back problems (mostly muscular). I took the pill once a day. Fifteen minutes after I took the pill, I had to lay down. The rest of the night, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, and the pill didn't even touch my pain. I was getting depressed, and my boyfriend told me I was mean while taking this pill. I am taking Aleve 2 x's a day, and I feel so much better now."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Love Mobic, but it gave me stomach ulcers. At first, I thought I had heartburn until everything started to make me sick. I also worry about the damage it does to your liver. Now I have to decide which is worse, pain or being sick to my stomach, because Mobic is the only thing that keeps me going. Best since Vioxx, and we know where that went."

"Two days on Mobic for a torn meniscus/ACL, and I see significant pain relief. One pill a day makes me a little “off,” but I’m loving being able to stand and walk without pain. I’m a little concerned about the side effects."

For Osteoarthritis "Mobic seemed to work great to reduce my arthritis pain. However, it gave me a headache, and my other MD said Prozac can't be taken with Mobic because both increase the risk of gastric bleeding, etc. Also, it gave me shortness of breath. I thought it reduced my pain, but my doc says arthritis pain comes and goes, so maybe not. Be careful if you also take an antidepressant - many don't react well with Mobic."
