For Period Pain "I've taken this for the first time today. I was prescribed it after very painful periods and advised to take it when I have pain for as many days as I need (the first day being so bad I am crying in pain and having time off work). I started to get period cramps today, took 1 dose, and within an hour had no pain at all. I usually have vomiting and diarrhea on the first day, but this has disappeared as well. It has also made my period so much lighter. Best medication I have had for period pain."

For Period Pain "Mefenamic acid is a game changer. I used to vomit, have diarrhea, feel lightheaded, dizzy, pass out, and just be in horrific pain. Since I've started taking mefenamic acid, I've been able to actually do things during my period. However, it doesn't take away all of my pain and nausea, it's, however, allowed me to get a week of my life back each month."

For Period Pain "My period cramps are debilitating to the point of vomiting, chills, nausea, and dizziness. I started taking mefenamic acid about a year or two ago, beginning on the first day of my period; two in the morning, two in the afternoon, two at night. I take them for 3-4 days. They were truly the solution for me! All pain was gone, which meant no vomiting or nausea, and I never had any side effects from the medication. However, the past 5-6 months, I've been experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, and pain on my first day of my period, sometimes lasting into the second day. This is not a result of the pills, as it happens before I take them, BUT the pills haven't been working as well to ease the pain or these symptoms, even if taken on time. My cramps used to disappear when I took these pills; now, they remain a dull ache or sometimes cramps totally unaffected by the pill. Odd. Overall, I've had a very pleasant experience with this medication - just seems my body has been doing its own thing lately."

For Period Pain "The first day of my period, I would get severe cramps. I would vomit and also not be able to eat a single thing. I would just sit in my bed in severe, severe pain. I felt like I was being stabbed over and over again. I would also get diarrhea. Then my GP recommended this medication, and the only thing it helped with was my nausea. But the problem was I didn't care about that, I just cared about my period cramps not hurting as much. To be honest, this pill made my period cramps even worse. I don't know how that was possible. I felt like I was in labor and being stabbed at the same time."

For Period Pain "So far, I can only say good things about my experience. No apparent side effects after 3 months' trial, and the medication allows me to keep living my everyday life without excruciating period pains (diarrhea, throwing up, cramping). I am really grateful to have found the medication and will keep on using it. I take 250 mg when I first feel the cramping start every 6 hours, then increase to 500 mg once the bleeding kicks in, every 6 hours to avoid intense cramps coming through. I am usually okay to stop using it after 4 days. Some slight cramping and discomfort might remain, but nothing compared to what it used to be."

For Period Pain "I have used mefenamic acid for period pain twice so far and will probably not be using it again. I will still give it a decent review since it helped a lot with my period pain and lessened the bleeding, but after taking one 500 mg tablet the first time (with dinner) I got a stabbing pain in my stomach and severe nausea, however, it went away after about an hour. After about 10 hours, I started to just take ibuprofen for the rest of the period. Next time my period was a bit early, so I had to take M. Acid for the pain again, used it twice with about 10 hours in between, ended up with stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea the next few days (still have it, and my period is done). Hope it won't last..."
