"I am 22 years old, and I took Provera for 10 days, twice a day starting March 7th. 10 mg. It worked for me. About 5 days after I ended the Provera (3.22.11), my period showed up. I am trying to conceive with my fiancé, but first, I need my period under control. I hope this all works out. So far, so good."

"Took two pills a day for ten days, and started my cycle three days after the last pill. Felt nauseous the first day of taking the pill, but it did what it was supposed to do, so no real complaints. Not sure if my cycle will regulate in the future, though."

"I took Provera for 10 days in order to induce a period, as I was experiencing amenorrhea from PCOS. I had a period the day after I took my last pill of the prescription. I did experience a breakout that was probably related to the progesterone itself, as I never usually break out."

"I get very hot with this medicine, otherwise, it works very well. I had my menstrual cycle for 4 months. I had a biopsy, and I was diagnosed with precancerous cells on my uterus. Plus, I'm not ovulating, so I needed to take this to get rid of my precancerous cells."

"From January 2015, my period started being irregular, and I haven't had my period since June last year (2016). My doctor recommended Provera, 5 mg for 10 days. My period came 4 days after the last pill. I'm so happy, and I hope it becomes regular again."

"I am 24 years old and on my 8th day of taking the pill. I cannot wait until it is over. I was ordered to take the pill because I want to see why I wasn't having a period, which was abnormal for me. I haven't had a period in four months, though I was always regular. The doctor said there was no harm in me not having a period and that it was probably caused by the birth control shot I had three years before, but I should take the pills just to see what happens. The pills seem to have made my PMS worse. That includes menstrual cramps, cravings, fatigue, and moodiness. They were more horrible when I first started the pill and have calmed down a little now, but the symptoms are still there."

"I hadn’t had my period since July 11, my doctor prescribed me Provera at the end of October. I had withdrawal bleeding for a week but didn’t get a period. Even 14 days after taking the medicine, my doctor prescribed me birth control pills to get my period. I took one pill, and the next day I got severe abdominal pain, vaginal pain, and cramping. I could not walk. I cried for hours and kept taking pain pills. The day after that, I started spotting, and 6 days after that, a full-blown period."

"I am 27 years old, and I've been trying to get pregnant since February 2012. My last menstrual period was March 23, 2012, and I never had a period after that. I've been going to my Ob-Gyn for the past 4 months, and finally, she prescribed me Provera for 10 days, one pill once a day. I decided to use an ovulation predictor kit 10 days before I took my first pill last June 13, 2012. On my third day of taking my pill, my ovulation predictor went positive, it gave me a smiley face. On my fourth day of Provera, I experienced very weird dreams, hot flashes, PMS, backache, and a little dizziness. I had my last pill June 22, Friday, and this is my third day off of it. I'm hoping that I could get my period soon so that way I can start taking Clomid."

"I hate this medicine. Took for 10 days and did get my period the last day. 1st day was light, but since then it's been cramps that I can barely move and heavy, heavy bleeding. On day 6 and in the last 24 hours, I've leaked 3 times. Once was in a 1-hour period from the last leak. It causes your period, but be warned, it can be horrible. Was told to expect heavy, but this is ridiculous right now. On top of everything, I'm 27 and having hot flashes from side effects, massive headaches while taking the meds, and PMS, which I never have."

"I am now taking Provera for the 3rd time. It works, but I have had some extra hair growth on my stomach. I am willing to deal with that because I have been trying to conceive for 8 years. After I get my period under control, I will start taking Clomid. My husband and I are praying this time it will work."

"I started Provera in my journey to regulating a period for pregnancy. I started taking the pill, I did ten days of the medication, and the third day after my last pill, I got my period. It started off light and easy, and I was very hopeful for finally kick-starting my period that I didn't have for 5 months. About 5 days into this withdrawal, blood turned into a full-blown period, it was AWFUL. It was painful, and I was SOAKING all the way through extra thick pads, and it clotted so bad I was nervous seeing it. I couldn't complete normal tasks of daily living because I would stand up, and it felt like my entire insides were falling out, and I ended up using silhouette diapers to help from the bleed-through. Granted, I'm very thankful for the medication working like it should, but be ready for the period that comes. More times than none, I was so nervous to stand, nervous to sit, nervous to try and stray away from a restroom or home due to the extreme blood I was losing. Has anyone else experienced this?"

"Had Provera for 7 days, 10 mg to start my period. I've missed 48 periods over 5 years. On the 5th day from my last pill, I got my full period. I'm on the 5th day, very heavy. How long should I be bleeding?"

"I have always had amenorrhea (irregular periods) my whole life. Recently, at 21, I discovered that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) by testing that was done. I am starting to take Metformin to help it. I have to have Provera prescribed every 3 months for the prevention of endometrial cancer. I have depression and PMDD, which is a severe form of PMS, so the only downside is that it makes me extremely depressed for when I do have my period. But it always makes me have my period by the third, fourth, or recently fifth day. It does what it is supposed to do, though, and that is good."

"I gave it a 7 out of 10 because 1) I didn't experience any side effects, so that is great, and 2) I haven't gotten my period YET. I took Provera for 5 days, and this is my 2nd day off of it. I feel something going on in there, so I have a feeling Aunt Flo will be visiting soon, then I get to take my Clomid."

"I am 20 years old and have had an irregular period my whole life. It was recently discovered that I have PCOS. I was placed on Provera for five days to essentially kick-start my period. Well, it worked. Two days after taking the last pill, I had a normal period start. Now the last three days have been extremely heavy flow with strong cramping and some nausea."

"Although this medication helped me restart my menstrual cycle, the side effects of this drug are horrible: numbness in arms while sleeping, fatigue, muscle aches, chest pains, itching, very bad mood swings, gas/bloating, weight gain, etc. There was a spot of blood on my pillow one morning after I stopped taking this pill - I don't know if it came from my nose or ears. Also, this drug depletes you of nutrients. You will need to take Vitamin B Complex & Vitamin B6. I also took folic acid, iron, & vitamin D. Horrible med. I took about 6 or 7 pills and skipped 2 days midway. Will look for natural ways to continue my cycle. Horrible synthetic hormone period."

"I'm 41 and was prescribed Provera because on August 23 of this month it will be 3 months since I haven't had my period! I have been reading about it like crazy! My test results came back normal! Can someone tell me that after the 10th day on the pill I will get my period! I have severe headaches and bloating!"

"I am 41 years old. This is my first time taking Provera. I had been bleeding very heavily for 2 months when my doctor prescribed this medication. I have been on it for one week thus far and just stopped bleeding. The doctor was right. The two side effects I have noticed are tiredness and very dry mouth. If these are the only side effects I experience, it's worth it."

"I've taken this medicine in the past, and it worked well. I am now taking it a second time, but it is causing panic attacks. I am not sure what is different this time. But as long as I have a period, I will be happy."

"I'm 35 and came off the pill 9 months ago after taking it for 16 years. Haven't had a period for at least a year, even when on the pill. I'm at the 3rd round of Provera. I took it 2 times for 10 days and got no period after the 10 days. No negative side effects, just dry mouth. It's almost like I wasn't taking anything. One positive thing though: it seems to have cleared the skin rashes and fungus I started having a few months after coming off the pill. Didn't bring my periods back, but solved my skin issues!"

"I was on the depo-Provera for 3 months, and after the treatment was over, I didn’t get my period for 11 months. To try and induce a period, I got prescribed 10 Provera pills of 10 mg. I did all 10 (the side effects were so bad I would get mood swings and bad cramps), and after 3 weeks, I got my regular period back only for 2 months, and now I am back to no period."

"I have always had regular menstruation, but after stopping my birth control pills, I haven’t had menstruation for the past 3 months. It’s my 10th day taking Provera today. I’ve been having the worst anxiety attacks, 2 really bad dreams, and back pain. I hope my menstruation starts already."

"I was on birth control for 8 months when my husband and I decided to try to get pregnant. I stopped taking birth control mid-March, I started taking prenatal vitamins mid-March, and one and a half months later I still never got my period, so I decided to go see my OB-GYN. She did blood work and everything came out normal, so she decided to put me on Provera once every day for 10 days. Three days after finishing Provera, I started my period, and it lasted 7 days. After I finished my period on June 6th, my husband and I were sexually active, and my cycle should've started around June 30th, but I still haven't started my period, so the first thing this morning I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I don't know what's going on..."

"I've been having irregular periods for about a year since I got off birth control, but this year I had a 7-week gap of no period and no signs of one. Went to OB and she said I had secondary amenorrhea, prescribed Provera 10 mg for 10 days for 3 months. I took it and instantly started bleeding about 30 minutes later. Worst cramps of my life and heaviest bleeding I've ever experienced. Only on day 3, so not sure if it will get better or worse but hoping for the best. It did induce a period for me almost immediately, which was necessary, however, the side effects are really bad so far and I don't know if it will help long term for me."

"I was recently diagnosed with PCOS with no periods (amenorrhea), so my OB-GYN prescribed Provera 5 mg for 5 days, and after 3 days, I started bleeding heavily until today, the 9th day. I'm a bit worried because if I do get a period, it usually lasts only for 5 days."
