Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Took Claritin 12 hours for the first and last time, my side effects were that I could not pee or sleep. I had to go to the hospital and now have had a catheter for three days. I think this should be taken off the shelf - mine is in the garbage."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "Have terrible post-nasal drip. Claritin is the only thing that works. No generics as good. Do find that the med works half the time it says it does; 12 hr works for 6, 24? About 8. I take 12 hr twice a day in spring and fall. Deal with the hrs it's not working. Doesn't interfere with my sleep."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Great for treating allergy symptoms and nasal congestion that other medication did not help. However, had an adverse reaction to the medication after a few days of taking it and was told to stop by my doctor; now back to having to suffer with allergies again."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "Works great most of the time. The problem is the price is going up and up. The other problem is the restriction on the amount that can be purchased at one time. I take one every day, but I can only buy 15 at a time and only 30 in a month. It's hard to believe that the sale of the medicine has to be controlled. On the last day of the month, I have to wait until the next day to buy the med-so stupid. Especially when traveling, and I can't purchase some in advance. It should be prescription again so I can receive 30 at one time."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "So I took this product for the first time, and all I can say is they need to find a way to create medicine that side effects aren't worse than what you're using it to treat. I have major allergies, but I'd rather suffer with the stuffy, runny nose, sinus headache, itchy, watery eyes, and cough than to ever take this medication again. It's just not worth all the side effects."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Best decongestant I have ever taken. As effective as any sinus rinse, but a lot less annoying to take a pill! One slight side effect: minor headaches. Do not take Claritin D-24 on a daily basis - it is too strong and caused dizziness."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "After suffering with nasal congestion and trying a variety of allergy medicines, I tried using Claritin-D. Although it didn't clear up the nasal congestion, at first I did seem to feel better. THEN, the side effects started: extreme dry mouth, stomach pain, headaches, feeling nervous, faster heart rate, constipation, tingly feeling under my skin, insomnia, urinating less than usual. After quitting the medicine, I also had high blood pressure, fear and anxiety (I was afraid to be alone, so my grown children came to stay with me several days). I wouldn't take it again!!!"

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Two years ago in the spring, I had bad allergies with a stuffy nose, so I tried Claritin-D for a few weeks. I had lots of energy, heart palpitations, insomnia, and anxiety. Then I started breaking out in a rash, so I stopped taking the Claritin. It seems like the Claritin made me develop more allergies because I break out in hives almost daily since I took it. Wished I had never taken it."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I used the 12-hour version. It works, but not for 12 hours. Lasted only about 3 hours, then symptoms returned. So, having to wait until the 12 hours is up to take more really sucks. Needs to be an every 4 hours drug."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I get migraines before thunderstorms (also get them frequently anyway). I switched to Claritin-D 24 hours because Zyrtec-D 12 hours, while good for allergies, wasn’t relieving the pressure in my head during a thunderstorm or barometric change in the weather. I took the Claritin around 6 pm, and it’s thunderstorming at 11:38 pm, and for sure the Claritin prevented me from getting a headache. Also relieved sinus pressure. I can tell this med can interfere with sleep, but I have to take sleep medicine anyway, so insomnia isn’t a concern for me. I will try to take this medicine a few hours before thunderstorms are supposed to start. It’s great, I just wish it was cheaper."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Claritin D does not relieve congestion like it used to. Had a cold, so tried Claritin, did not feel any type of relief from nasal congestion. Usually, after you would take it, you would feel the medicine clearing up the congestion, now you don't feel any relief. Which means they are using an inferior type of pseudoephedrine (not sure of exact spelling). This is the ingredient that's supposed to dry up congestion. I used to feel a slight pulling in my sinuses as it was really drying up the mucus from a cold. Now, nothing!! This product does not work like it used to, they are using inferior, low-grade medicine!!!"

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "My experiences have been hit or miss. Sometimes I will take Claritin-D and immediately feel better. Other times, like this one now that has led me to this thread, I have had congestion and watery eyes for 24 hours. Now, after taking Claritin-D, my nose won’t stop running, and my eyes are even worse. This has happened before, so I will be switching allergy medications soon."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Used to work like a charm for me. Now it doesn’t really begin to work until 3 days later. Anyways, I just recently had an allergy flare-up. And it didn’t begin to work until day 4. Basically, I was doing Claritin-D 24 every night without any relief, so I began taking a plain Claritin in the morning. Instant relief taking both, but I’m not sure it’s recommended. Anyways, now my ear has been clogged for 3 days. Even after trying Claritin-D, Flonase, saline spray, no relief. A doctor now has me on Sudafed for my ear clogging. Let’s see if this works."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "I've taken Claritin D-12H for years. The drainage down my throat and stuffy nose disappears. Tried the 24-H formula and had inconsistent results in those 24 hrs. Doesn't cause me to be hyper or awake. Claritin D-12H is truly the best! I'm 61 years old and have tried other alternatives when Claritin D-12H is not available and not gotten close to the relief of Claritin D-12H. Makes life enjoyable again."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Works well, keeps my sinuses clear. I breathe great after taking it. It is a bit stimulating, just like Zyrtec D, but not problematic. But if you are sensitive concerning that, be careful. Good therapy for allergies and angry sinuses, LOL."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I take the 24-hour CVS brand (Claritin-D) ONLY when I'm really bad congested. And I also get post-nasal drip when my allergies act up. It works 100 percent, clears up my nose and stops the post-nasal drip. Also helps with my headache too, I get from my allergies acting up. I definitely experience the jitters and dry mouth. I have an anxiety disorder, so that's the part I don't like because the jitters make me feel more anxious. It does not affect my sleep like I read it does others. I take it every blue moon, only when I'm really bad congested. I can handle the side effects."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I took different over-the-counter meds for my allergies. 24 hours in, I thought I was drowning in my own fluids. Took Claritin-D, such a difference. Only did the 10 pack though for 12 hours - no side effects. This will be my go-to now."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "My doctor recommended this to me because both my ears are congested. I'm not used to really taking medications. Just Tylenol and Motrin. So my first hour after taking it, I felt super nervous. My heart was pounding, felt like it was going to burst through my chest, and my breathing was really weird. Then later that night, I could not sleep for the life of me. I kept tossing and turning. Basically stayed up watching t.v. My fiancé asked if I had been up all night. I was up for more than 24 hours. I took 2 melatonin the night after, and I fell asleep. Woke up with a headache and dizziness. Mind you, I have anxiety. It triggered it. First time trying it and would not recommend it to anyone. YOU WILL NOT SLEEP."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "My doctor recommended Claritin-D since I have been having problems with my ears relating to allergies. I took one pill at night thinking it would make me drowsy when it did the exact opposite. I was wide awake the entire night, my heart was racing, and I was beyond jittery. I even felt paranoid at one point. I took one of my hydroxyzine pills in hopes it would help, it didn’t. I already have anxiety, and I felt like I was on the verge of having a panic attack on this medicine. The next day I feel dizzy still, and my mouth is dry. I would not recommend this medicine at night, especially if you already have anxiety."

For Nasal Congestion "I found Alavert to be extremely effective with two side effects, and depending on how bad you feel, they might not bother you. I noticed I had a ton of energy and couldn't go to sleep, so I found myself cleaning. My house is better because of it. I also found myself getting up to pee almost every hour once I fell asleep. All in all, it relieved my headache, dizziness, and nasal congestion."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "I've been denied the last 2 months on the purchase of Claritin D. I'm suffering with congestion, itchy eyes, runny nose. Regular Claritin doesn't work. Only Claritin D. But when you need it, you can't buy it."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Allergic Rhinitis "Doctor recommended Claritin D because of constant post-nasal drip and burning pain in chest. After taking it for two weeks, the drip did not stop, the chest pain got worse, and I experienced more episodes of irregular heartbeats. No more Claritin D for me."

For Allergic Rhinitis "How I wish I had read this before taking this med. This is my third night without sleep. I had no idea this could be a side effect. It has cleared my nose but aggravated my migraine as I am not sleeping at all. I am not taking this med again. I guess I should have stuck with Allegra."

Loratadine / pseudoephedrine for Nasal Congestion "Instead of going for my good old generic Sudafed-PE, I went for Claritin-D. Strike one. I got 24-hour relief ones. Strike two. I took the first (and only) pill at noon yesterday. It's past noon, and I had no sleep in the last 24 hours, I don't know how I am still awake. On the bright side, it does wonders for my post-nasal drip and stuffy nose. Still not worth it."
