For Type 2 Diabetes "When my A1C reached a 9 in Nov. 2022, my PCP asked me if I was interested in taking Victoza to lower my A1C, and I happily agreed. I started at 0.6 and moved to 1.8 within a month. I have lost 105 lbs (300 lbs in Nov 22 to 195 in Nov 23). I've had no side effects from Victoza. My diabetes is pretty much gone, except my A1C is still a little high (5.8 to 6.1). I continue to be ravenous for sweet/fatty food, BUT the Victoza enables me to delay eating or skip meals without my body punishing me for not eating. I have the ability to choose when and what I eat. Before Victoza, dieting would give me headaches and other physical symptoms. With Victoza, I feel more 'normal' in my ability to eat healthy meals or skip meals entirely. I went from 5x clothes (300 lbs) to wearing XL clothes today at 195 lbs. I'm much happier, my health is much better, and people marvel at how much weight I have lost. I'm very happy to have been offered Victoza."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been taking Victoza for almost a month now. I thankfully have no side effects and have lost 8 pounds so far. I have PCOS, and for the last 6 years, I couldn't lose any weight. I really tried everything: no sugar, gluten-free, low carb! It feels amazing to finally see the weight come off. I have not been exercising, but Victoza is helping with my cravings, I am almost never hungry, and I don't think about food at all. It's amazing to feel normal again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "1 week in, down 8 pounds and feel great. I've been very solid on my diet, keeping under 2000 calories a day and 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4.0. Energy is great, no nausea or side effects at all. Love this."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Victoza for 6 days. The doctor started me right on the 1.8 dose. I still used it for a couple of days, and cravings subsided dramatically. I am tolerating this medication successfully. I'm not sure of my A1C as yet, but my fasting blood glucose has gone from an average of 200 down to 115 this morning. I've lost 3 lbs... Wow!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I think Victoza is the best thing I could have ever tried! I've been overweight my entire life and have been diagnosed with insulin resistance and polycystic ovarian syndrome. My doctor prescribed it to me to try to help me with weight loss. I used it a year ago for 4 months (0.6 mg) and lost around 12 kg. I then stopped using it (it's expensive to buy). My bad eating habits made me gain 5 kg. I'm on my first week of using Victoza again and already lost 2.5 kg in the first week! If you really want results for weight loss, eat a healthy balanced diet. I know my body doesn't like red meat, so I'm on veggies, fruits, nuts, eggs, and rice products. You are what you eat, and Victoza helps you to be able to eat healthy foods."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Victoza now for about a month. I'm a relatively newly diagnosed diabetic. I found out two months ago. I was on 1000 mg Metformin twice a day. Even on the Metformin, my sugars would be 280-400. Even waking up in the morning fasting, I would be in the 240-270 range. So, in our first checkup, my doctor suggested Victoza. Holy crap. What a difference. On the first day, with only the .6 dose, I had my first sugar below 200. I have had no negative side effects at all. I ramped up to the max dose in the first week because I was feeling great. I still have no negative side effects. My appetite is significantly reduced. Post meal sugars in the 120-140 range. 90 or less in the AM. Love this med!!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Victoza since February of 2017. At first, I had nausea and constipation. I upped the dose to 1.2 and was really feeling bad. When I went up to 1.8, it was continually making me feel sick. My doctor told me to go back to 1.2. After a week on the 1.2, things started getting better. I still have the nausea, but it is only sometimes. The constipation I solved by taking a stool softener. I feel full after eating about a fourth of what I used to. Sometimes, just the thought of food makes me feel queasy. The best thing is the weight loss. I started out weighing 323 lbs. I went to the doctor today, and my weight is down to 280. It feels so good to lose weight without feeling hungry. A1c number went down from 9.3 to 6.6."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Victoza 0.6, and initially, the nausea was so bad I could not continue after 1 day. I stopped for about a week and decided to try again. This is now day 3, and I’m actually tolerating it better. I have not drunk any alcohol, and last time I had alcohol the same day I started my injection. Very bad idea... I now also take Pepto or an anti-nausea med right before I do my injection, and I take it at bedtime. This has helped tremendously!!! I still have some belching and a slight headache, but nothing like before. I’m really excited that my body is tolerating it. I’ll post again in a few weeks, and hopefully, I’ll be a few pounds lighter."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Victoza in December 2015, now in April 2016, I'm down 45 lbs. It has helped control my appetite. I have some constipation, but no other symptoms. I was on Lantus but have been able to stop using it, and blood sugars have remained in the low 100s. I am currently on 1.2 ml."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 70 yr. old diabetic and have been type 2 for 15 yrs. Started Victoza last week. I immediately felt better, no more headaches, and my morning blood glucose is under 100 for the first time in years. I am running 3x a week and eating a low-carb diet, about 45 carbs per meal, as directed by the doctor. I am losing weight, about 2 pounds in the first week. I have not noticed any negatives with Victoza other than some flatus and stomach rumbling. My cravings for sugar are diminishing, and I have a lot of energy. I would recommend any reader to go to a doctor who specializes in endocrinology and get a diabetic nutritionist to set up a meal plan for you. Also, key is to exercise daily and stay positive. Even though you are a diabetic, by taking care of your body."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Wow, I have been on Victoza for 2 weeks, also take 1000 mg Metformin daily. My blood sugars now range from 70 to 115. Losing about 1 pound per 2 days. Little nausea the first week, but it gets better. Amazed, and Publix grocery store covers this medication 100%, so it's free with a prescription."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So I was 290 when starting this. About 4 weeks later, I have lost 20 pounds. Everybody is different, I was fine the first week, then when increased to 1.2, I was very nauseous and had absolutely no appetite. When increased to 1.8, I could not handle it, was continuously vomiting, so I went back down to 1.2 for now. Still, my appetite is nonexistent, and I have to eat very small 'meals.' It is basically trial by error, you have to see which foods your body can tolerate while on this med. I am happy so far with results, as I feel this is exactly what I need to get out of some unhealthy eating habits."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on 0.6 mg Victoza for 2 weeks, then 1.2 for two weeks. Down about 10 lbs. The doctor said to up to 1.8 in another two weeks. He said it shouldn't help me lose all the weight I need to, so he wants to put me on Qsymia. I'm not sure I want to lose more than 10 lbs a month. I noticed diarrhea on the first day or two, then again on the first day or two at 1.2. Appetite suppressant. Less craving for sugar and carbs. Overall, a good medicine. It's supposed to help prevent diabetes as well. My blood sugar tested at 85 today. Before Victoza, I was averaging 99-105."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Victoza on 10/18/2014, and the first four days I was fine. I had a slight headache, on the fifth day, I was dizzy and vomiting. I couldn't keep water down. I skipped a day of Victoza, and started back the following day with no problems. I'm down 7 lbs."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and started out with Metformin. Metformin did nothing to control my blood sugar. Was put on Victoza and within 3 days blood sugars were normal but have terrible indigestion with a horrible rotten egg smell. Got to talk to my doc about that. But I have lost 30 pounds in 2 months while on Victoza. No nausea. But I don't have an appetite, which has caused me to eat way less food. I'm taking the 1.6 mg dose. Overall, satisfied with the medicine, but I have read reports of a lot of people getting cancer in their pancreas and thyroids."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Victoza exactly 4 weeks ago. I have felt nauseous from time to time, but generally feel worse if I eat more than I need. I can easily feel very full eating 700-800 calories a day. I haven't had any other side effects except that I have way more energy than before, which is wonderful for someone who has fibromyalgia and is always tired! The inches are melting away, and I'm so happy to have lost 11.5 lbs, it's amazing! After unexplained weight gain of 77 lbs over the course of a year, this is just what I needed. 1 month in and 1/6 of the weight I need to lose has already gone - if you haven't already, give it a go."

For Type 2 Diabetes "So far, I have been on Victoza for three weeks now. At first, being on the 1.2 dose was very nauseating. So, I went back to 0.6, and that reduced the nausea. However, that was not the solution to the blood sugar highs. Now, being back on the 1.2 dosage, the nausea is not bad, and my hunger is so reduced that I now have to force myself to eat. My only main side effect so far has been the headaches. I love the fact that I only have to take this once a day. Insurance companies and the government need to take note of the successes some are having and start including this on all medical/prescription plans."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Victoza for 18 days. Started with 1.8. Since day 1, I was a little weak and constipated for the first 3 days, but after that, I started to feel good again. So now I only eat 3 little meals a day, and I've lost 6 pounds so far from 202 to 196."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After reading hundreds of reviews, I was very nervous about the side effects, and I'm gonna be completely honest, they're the worst I've ever known. I've never felt so ill in my life, BUT it did only last 5 days on 0.6 and 2 days when I doubled to 1.2, so stick with it. If it's getting you down, I promise it is worth it!!!! I take my dose at 11 am and find I can eat fairly normally throughout the day until about 6 pm. Then I have a tiny dinner and feel full to the brim. Also, I am finally getting a full night's sleep as I'm not up every hour needing the toilet. Today I had my review, and I'm over the moon. I've lost 16 lb with no effort at all... I highly recommend."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started with .6 about 6 months ago. Nausea, dizziness, heartburn, and loss of appetite. Not pleasant. Blood sugars did not seem to improve - questioned if stress due to symptoms was counteracting each other. (Stress raises glucose). Decided to give the drug its best shot, so after two weeks, increased the dosing to maximum (1.8). Slowly, symptoms subsided, and post-meal glucose came down. Down substantially. Fasting still remains around 130 to 140, but that also is improved. Post-meal about 140 if I eat a proper diet. While I would have preferred a greater reduction in numbers, the drug is beneficial. Side effects are now all gone. I'm 64."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm 64 yrs old, 5'2" female with an A1C of 8.1 and an average 3-month glucose of 185. My morning sugars are 160. Evenings from 170 to 290. I'm on 2000 mg of Metformin and 100 mg of Januvia. My new doctor suggested Victoza. First week had 1 day of nausea, 4 days of loose stools, and 1 day with a minor headache. All was gone by day 6. Have lost 10 pounds in 10 days. Sugars now run in the 140's in the morning and 120's - 140's in the evening. Not as hungry. Have not specifically exercised but have tried to eat at least 2x a day and -0- after 8 pm. Less thirsty too. Now to get my thyroid levels back under control, which I was just informed were off and need a higher dose (0.150 mcg) of Synthroid. But I'm THRILLED with this medicine after 10 days of use."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Victoza on March 25th, weighing 318 lbs. Experienced mild side effects - loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation. I have now lost 30 lbs, and this drug has drastically changed the way I eat and view food, and I no longer have any day-to-day side effects. I am eating much less at meals, no snacking, and it has changed my cravings for junk food and sugar. Most peculiar of all is the fact that I am unable to drink beer anymore! I love beer, but after 1, my stomach turns inside out and I feel sick - not good for my love of beer, great for the health benefits of not drinking beer. :) I have hit a few plateaus, but then the weight loss begins again. I have gone down 2 pant sizes - this is a miracle drug for me!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Victoza 3 weeks ago, have had some muscle discomfort in my back, nothing major. What I have had that is major is a 15-pound weight loss bringing me down to the weight I was in College and blood sugars in the 90s to 140s. My 14-day average is down to 112 from 195, 6 months ago. This medicine works! Now if I can just get my insurance company to cover it. After all, it is saving them money on all the other drugs I was taking as well as helping me be healthier."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in a clinical research study. I began this in July 2011. At first, I lost a lot of weight quickly (about 15 lbs in 2 months). I lost 21 lbs altogether. My appetite was nil, and my blood pressure went down! But after about a year, the appetite is back in full swing, and blood pressure is going back up. I have also gained 10 pounds back. I am still pre-diabetic. I guess after a while it stops working. I have 1 more year to go in the study."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Victoza a week ago 0.6. After injection, I feel slightly nauseous. It passes, and then I become full of energy. I had to move, so I walk 3 miles a day. My energy lasts all day, and my appetite has completely disappeared. I make myself eat, and dry mouth is another symptom for me, so that encourages me to drink more water. My fibromyalgia is in remission. When the medication wears off, I have muscle aches, but I also have low vitamin D. I don't think I will be taking this forever or every day. I started last week at 162, I am now 156. My BMI is at 150, so when I reach my goal, I will do it once a week for maintenance."
