For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Victoza for two months and technically only lost 10 lbs, but as far as visually, everyone says I lost 30+ pounds. I ride my bike an average of 15 miles a day, so I believe I've gained muscle. I switched to Ozempic because the Victoza had a side effect of dry mouth. I never had any other side effects. I literally ate anything I want and lost weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started on Victoza on Jan. 2. Started at 0.6 for 5 days, then moved to 1.2. Side effects minimal. Experienced a headache 1 day, mild nausea first few days, a little more tired at night, which is when I take it. I'm down 8 pounds in 9 days. Am in my 50s, menopausal. I love, love, LOVE the CONTROL this medication gives me over food and my appetite. I have insulin resistance and mildly elevated blood sugar. Diabetes runs in my family. I guess my insurance (BCBS) figured 'close enough' because they're paying for it!! Am so excited and LOVE this drug. It is so much more effective than amphetamine-like drugs for weight loss. I will check back in in a few and give you an update. As someone said, 'Victoza is not for wimps.' But if you can man it up, it's totally worth the side effects. Good luck, all."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've lost 77 lbs taking this medication. It makes me full fast, and I eat such a small amount and am satisfied. I've had no ill effects. Only 4 days was I nauseous after taking the injection when my dose was increased to 1.8, but I took nausea meds for that. I don't feel deprived or anything. This medication works fabulously. I'm on a combination of Topamax and Metformin along with this, and it's helping me lose weight. I'm very happy with the results!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "A couple of years ago, I was introduced to Victoza and had a horrible experience with it and stopped taking it. During this time, my doctor instructed me to take it with my Metformin, thinking it would help me lose weight. A couple of years later, I found that the Metformin was causing me complications. I changed doctors, and my new doctor recommended Victoza again. This time without using Metformin or any other diabetes medication. Reluctantly, I tried it, and to my surprise, I have had great results. I no longer have cravings for sweets, and my appetite has changed drastically. I have zero side effects. In 3 weeks, I have lost nearly 15 pounds. In September 2015, I will have my A1C checked again and praying for a better A1c."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I went on this med probably about 2 years ago. I've lost 49 pounds, but not just due to the Victoza, but because I've been eating better and exercising more. But the Victoza gave me a good boost in the right direction! I was running blood sugars in the 200s with fastings in the 140s to 180s - not very good. At one point my A1C was 8! On Victoza, my fastings are usually around 100, and my last A1C was 6.5! A big difference! The pen is easy to use, my pen needle is 32G, 5/32', I hardly feel it. The Victoza, at room temp, is undetectable as it goes in, completely painless. I thank God that my doctor switched me over. Oh, and I also take Metformin twice a day. I have no GI side effects whatsoever, and I never did."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've struggled with my weight for years. I am a total binge eater at night. My doctor first brought up Victoza, and I was really hesitant to take it (the whole injection thing scared me), but honestly, it's not bad at all! You just have to pinch your skin wherever you're administering the medication, and you won't feel anything. The needle used is, I think, a 38g, which is SUPER small. No bruising or anything around the site of the injection. This is my second week on it, and I've already lost 5lbs. I haven't experienced any side effects. I did get a little nauseous the first two days, but it wasn't anything that was so horrible I couldn't continue. I don't have any problems binge eating. It's great! I hope to see more results in the next few weeks!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Victoza for about a little over a year. I had lost 128 lbs. It worked great for me. I went off to see if I would gain it all back. To be honest, I didn't add exercise to my daily routine as I worked in construction at the time. (I am a female). I didn't diet. I am not the best example to learn from. My weight loss was strictly from the effects of Victoza curbing my appetite. Anyway, after almost 3 years being off, I didn't gain any weight back until my mother was dying and I think I was stress-eating. I gained about 60 lbs. I'm getting ready to start Victoza again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It made me feel sick the 1st month at 1.2mg, queasy stomach, not too bad diarrhea, if there is such a thing as good? The biggest thing I noticed was food did not appeal to me at all. I just did not feel like eating anything. And when I did eat something, I felt full on a few bites. This after about 2 months led to a 36 lb weight drop and an A1c that went from 7.3 to an A1c of 5.6. I have been on it now for 6 months but no more weight loss or gain. 12hr Fasting Glucose is showing from 75-88. I never see levels above the 120's after meals, even sweets. I think the problem with Victoza is that it works almost too good! I think some people will go off their diets or cheat a lot more because they have such low A1c's."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Victoza four months ago after trying Actos, Januvia, Glipizide, and Metformin. A1C was 9.5. After three months on Victoza, A1C down to 7.7. Better but not as good as expected. It seemed like Victoza stopped working after the first month. I used to leave the pen at room temperature after starting it. I started keeping the pens refrigerated at all times, and immediately noticed Victoza was working great again. I was concerned that the cold would cause pain on injection, but this was not the case. No extra pain at all. I know they say you can leave the pen at room temperature once you start using it, but for me, I noticed a HUGE improvement by keeping it refrigerated. I can only speak for myself, but that works for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Victoza now for a little more than 8 mos. When I started, my A1C was at 7.8, after 4 mos. it dropped to 6.7. My last A1C test results, I am now at 5.7!!! I have not ever been below 6.0 since being diagnosed more than 7 years ago! However, the most important thing about this medication is that I have had NO side effects. I've ranged from barely active to moderate/heavily active and other than it helping me lose weight, I have experienced ZERO side effects. I prefer this medication over Metformin, as it has done more in 8 mos. than Metformin did in 6 years."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Victoza since August 2014 (9 mos). I had to increase the dosage between 1.2 and 1.8 gradually... 1 click of the 'pen' every 4 or 5 days to avoid the nausea. Now at 1.8 for several months. I have lost a total of 57 lbs! I want to lose about 25 more. So far, I am thrilled with the results!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have PCOS diabetes and tons of pain in my body every day. Victoza, since I have been put on it a week ago I have lost 18 pounds, my appetite has been suppressed drastically no other side effects except for feeling great that I'm finally losing weight after over 5 to 6 diet tries for years this is the only thing that has helped me so far. I'm so thankful for this medication and the doctor allowing me to try it out!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Victoza for just over a week, started on 0.6 and today moved onto increased dose of 1.2. I am also on 4 x 500mg of metformin a day. I have had some stomach ache/sickness/fatigue with the Victoza but I'm sure it will get better. I've lost just under 7lb in this first week which is astonishing and I'm very excited to continue to see weight loss. I definitely have seen a big reduction in appetite, I don't want food as often and I don't eat as much so it's a win-win for me. I have not yet built exercise into my routine yet, just because the fatigue is making it difficult for me even to do household chores at the moment but hope I can soon get back in the gym and aid any weight loss Victoza gives me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Victoza for 8 weeks. I am a type 2 diabetic and started Victoza to help control my blood sugar levels, but the weight loss that has come with taking this medication is what made me a believer. I had all the side effects the first two weeks but it was never intolerable, and an amazing weight loss of a pound a day during that time kept me taking the medicine. The weight loss has slowed to a slow but steady rate of 1-2 pounds per week, and after 8 weeks, I have lost 26 pounds. I feel better than I have felt in years! I love this medication!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Just started on Victoza three days ago. Self-injection seems a bit daunting at first, but in reality, it's nothing. No nausea at 0.6 so soon to 1.2. Right now, I weigh 295 pounds, and should weigh 180, so we'll see what happens. Morning blood sugar this morning was 93. I can live with THAT. By the way, 'eggy burps' usually means your stomach flora are dead, and you need live culture yogurt, or acidophilus milk to re-establish your colony. --Jerry"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have Type 2 Diabetes. My blood sugar is controlled. I am very overweight. I was 5'8, 314 lbs on January 6th of this year. Disgusted with my predicament, I started two things: Weight Watchers and Victoza. This morning I weighed in at 293 lbs. I started out on the 0.6 dosage that I could barely tolerate and have eventually made it to the 1.2 dosage. This is my sweet spot. I have plans to move up my dosage at this point as my morning blood sugars are 85-90 and will decrease with more weight loss. Victoza is truly a miracle. Before Victoza, I took Metformin 500 mg ER, which did nothing to help me lose weight. It controlled my blood sugars but no weight loss. I am excited to see how much more I can lose. In 1 month, I dropped 21 pounds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Victoza now for a month. I'm 57 and previously always had high blood sugar. Nothing seemed to work until my PCP started me on Victoza. First 2 weeks were good, nausea in the second 2 weeks, then went away. I have lost 20 lbs and feel so much better. Blood sugars have been in the low 150s. This medicine saved my life. Be sure to ask your PCP for some Zofran, you will need it in the second and third week for nausea. Don't give up. Thank you, Victoza. A Disabled Veteran"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on the drug for about 10 months. Lost 46 lbs. I find that it no longer suppresses my appetite. In talks with my doctor, we have decided to come off the drug for 2 months to see how my weight is and go from there. Not sure if or when I start to take it again it will suppress my appetite. Time will tell. I exercise regularly - 5 to 6 times a week. I had absolutely no side effects. Six months in, the doctor did all the blood work tests. He was extremely pleased with the results. Good luck."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Victoza is a wonder medicine. I've been on it for two weeks and have lost about ten pounds. (With many more to go!) I am rarely hungry at all anymore, and when I am hungry, it doesn't take much food at all to make me feel full. In between meals, I sometimes get a slight stomachache, but I much prefer that to feeling ravenously hungry all the time. Victoza also seems to be controlling my blood sugar in conjunction with Glumetza and Lantus. I've been able to stop Novolog and hope to decrease or eliminate the Lantus. I hope it continues to work so well for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My doctor just prescribed me Victoza. I was really scared to take it at first. I have been on it now for a week. I experienced little nausea and a slight headache the first two days, the third day, constipation. Other than that, everything is back to normal now. I will post later with results. My starting weight is 235, so ready to see if Victoza works for me. Hope I don't give up, lol."

"I was prescribed Victoza after developing insulin resistance after having my son. I consistently gained 10 pounds per year, despite increased activity levels. I was 5'7' and 246 pounds. I want to lose 60 pounds. When I first began Victoza, it made me incredibly sick. I had to dial my dose back to 0.1 and increase by one point every week. Even at that low dose, I experienced decreased appetite and weight loss. I have also noticed that my constant cravings have mostly disappeared. After 6 months, I'm down 45 pounds and feeling great. My blood sugars are in the normal range for the first time in FOUR years. This medicine has changed my life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been a type 2 diabetic for 10 years now. I tried Victoza in May 2016. As of today, September 24th, I have lost 45 pounds. I'm down to one Metformin a day, and my A1C is great! The side effects are minimal, mainly sour stomach, but that can be controlled mostly by diet. Low-starch foods help a lot. I'm so glad after trying a few newer meds that I found Victoza!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Prior to taking Victoza, my glucose was like 384, 297. I changed my diet, and it went down to 234, 187, and the lowest was 166. I then started this shot 2 weeks ago on 2/9/24. Prior to taking it, I lost 14 lbs. (Starting weight 412) Since then, I’m now down 22.6. It’s like every day I’m losing a pound or so. I’ve had no side effects so far. I’m on the 1.2 dose and honestly thinking about staying right there for another week before I increase it. When I last checked my glucose, it was 101. My A1C was 10.9 when they prescribed it, so I can’t wait to see what it is in April."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Victoza a week now. I want to lose 30 pounds and am always one to get side effects. The bad ones. I’m just starting out on the lowest dosage and it’s 0.6, then each week I’m supposed to move up if needed. Honestly, I don’t want to as it’s working at this low dosage for me and nothing ever works. It took my sweet craving right away. I have no side effects at all and I’m not hungry. I make sure to eat my healthy meals like protein after working out and lots of greens. Staying away from carbs because they make me feel like garbage anyway. I do find I’m thirsty a lot, which is good to increase my water. I’ve lost 6 pounds this week and I know at least 4-ish is water. I did get sick in the beginning, I felt like I had extreme heartburn and threw up. What surprised me is it was the meal from the day before. So it shows you it really slows down what it digests."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Victoza 1.8 mg daily for 2 years. It cuts your appetite well and I lost 30 pounds on it. BUT, the catch is after a year and a half on it, I got my hunger appetite all back threefold. Now I'm struggling to cut portions, but can't - always hungry, and I gained 15 pounds back!! Only a temporary hunger control, only lasts for so many months. So sad, I called the company, but no response from them on getting back your hungry appetite again. Sad, so sad!!"
