For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on 0.6 ml of Victoza for 7 days now to control my type 2 diabetes. The first 5 days were hellacious, to say the least! I had debilitating nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and those horrible sulfur burps and gas that ran everyone away from me and sent me to the ER, thinking my insides were deteriorating! LOL! But by day 6, the side effects subsided. I lost 10 lbs within the first 3 days. Tomorrow, I have to increase the dosage, but I'm praying that I won't have to deal with the side effects again. So far, so good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started trial of Victoza from Dr. He wanted to check side effects before prescribing Saxenda. Lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks. BUT, insurance denied coverage for Saxenda, so back to Dr. Second request for authorization and gave me another trial of Victoza. Insurance denied Saxenda again. I registered for the Saxenda prescription savings card and today went to my pharmacy, $1021!!!! Talking to the pharmacist, he recommended getting a script for Victoza because insurance likes the price. Approved, and my copay is $25! I do get nausea when I increase the dose, it doesn't last. Dry mouth bad first few weeks but helped me be motivated to drink water. Diarrhea, yes, rotating with constipation. Food doesn't appeal to me. Often don't eat dinner or just a few bites. LOT of fatigue. Heartburn mild but I think it's because I forget to eat and my stomach is empty. BOTTOM LINE.... love this for weight loss. Side effects aren't permanent. I'm losing weight. BEST part? I figured out how to get insurance coverage!!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Victoza for 3 weeks. I started at 0.6 and increased every 7 days. I've lost 17 lbs thus far. Not eating much. I was nauseous in the beginning, but it wears off. I can't eat more than 1 cup of food without feeling miserably full. I have no desire to overeat at all. So far, so good. Hoping I don't plateau. I am still making good food choices and exercising regularly. Sugars were maintained on Metformin before starting, so I'm hoping to go off Metformin by October. Praying I don't get pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, or worse."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After losing 80 pounds in 1 year by walking EVERY SINGLE DAY for 45 minutes then increasing to 1 hr plus, I was unable to lose any more weight. Weight was stable for 5 yrs via 1 to 2 hrs Cardio and Weight Training 4 times a week, and constant vigil of quality and quantity of food. I am hypothyroid, but not diabetic. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth for SOME HELP on losing these last 25 or 30 lbs, my wonderful doctor put me on Victoza 2 days before Thanksgiving. I AM GIVING JOYFUL THANKS. I do not even think about food-- have ZERO hunger or cravings! For me, this is a miracle!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had a great experience with Victoza. Really helps with blood sugar along with Metformin. First few weeks were rough, very nauseated. I stuck with it and very slowly increased my dose from 0.6 to 1.2 every time I felt up to it. Lost 40 pounds over 8 months. Blood sugar in the 90s in the morning. I find it easier to eat a low-carb diet when I am not that hungry."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a prediabetic with glucose at 109 fasting. I am taking Victoza to lose weight and not become a full-fledged diabetic. After trying Byetta, which made me sick and not lose weight, my endocrinologist prescribed Victoza on July 2nd. I have lost 6 pounds, eat only when I need to, eat foods that are better for me, and have NO NAUSEA at all. In 3 weeks, I have already bumped up to 1.8mg a day. I love this medicine and will stay on it until I go from my current 180 to 125."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on it for 2 weeks and lost 20 pounds already. I started at 4 click in, now I'm at .6. But you do feel sick and very tired. It's constant and I burp all the time. My doctor said take it before bed because the worst part will be finished by the time you wake up. I don't really like food that much after or anything really, sugar not even my Pepsi :( and I would just eat because I'm bored. Now I don't even feel like it. I was 280, now 260. I hope to be at 170 one day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "For me, Victoza was a life-changing drug. For decades, I struggled with unexplained hunger and weight gain. I had every possible test done. Finally, after tests showed a slightly elevated A1c, I suggested to my doctor that we try Victoza. And it worked. Yes, there was nausea, but the medication actually worked better the longer I was on it. I attribute this to the loss of appetite, after several months, I no longer experienced the raging hunger I once did. I admit that nausea continues to be a problem (and the only side effect), so I’ll try decreasing Victoza to 1.2, then 0.6 if that doesn’t work. Despite the nausea, the drug has been well worth it for me. I finally feel like myself again. I guess what I’m saying is, “Don’t lose hope!”"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am using Victoza for about 6 weeks, and it's a magic medicine. I am taking 0.6 every morning, and my appetite is under control. I am really watching my diet, and healthy controlled portions helped me to lose 14 kg in 6 weeks. I am facing the side effects of nausea and dizziness, but it's worth facing them because I am really fed up with my weight problem. I don't have to use insulin injections anymore, and my sugar levels are between 115-140 fasting and 160-190 after meals. I will continue with Victoza."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started a two-week trial of Victoza prescribed by my doctor on 3/8/17. I was nervous about giving myself injections as well as the side effects. I started at 0.6, but after no side effects, I increased my dose on my own to 1.2. I lost 8 lbs after 9 days, but it kept fluctuating 1-2 lbs. I grew skeptical and started to believe this was too good to be true. After a 30 lb weight gain in the last 7 months from stress eating, my appetite was finally under control, so I continued with the injections. My insurance approved the drug, and last week my dose was increased to 1.8. Today is April 3, and without diet or exercise, I am down 12.5 lbs (in about 3 1/2 weeks). I'm excited and can't wait to reach my goal weight of 165 lbs. Good luck!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Victoza for 3 months now. I am a type 2 diabetic with poor control. Victoza has steadily increased and I am at 1.8. I am slightly overweight but since starting Victoza, I have dropped 15 pounds. I did drop all this weight in the first month and have not lost any weight since. I did find the first month to be a little difficult with nausea and headaches. My fasting blood sugar levels have gone from the 150s down to the 90s, and I'm very happy with this! I am really hoping this will work long term!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I love Victoza! In just 8 weeks my A1c has gone from 8.2 to 6.4. I can't wait to see what it is after the full 90 days. For the most part, the side effects pretty much subsided after the first month. As long as I eat properly, I feel really good. If I eat something I shouldn't, especially something fatty, it makes me nauseous. Processed foods do not taste good at all. I find myself actually craving healthier foods like plain chicken and vegetables and steering clear of things with sauces or heavily flavored foods. I am seldom hungry and now eat approximately half of what I used to eat. Blood sugar levels have improved, and in ten weeks, I have lost 30 pounds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Victoza for 4 days and it's been great. I have type 2 uncontrolled diabetes. I've had no side effects at all. I've lost 4 lbs. and feel really good. My sugar levels are under 140, 2 hours after a meal which is awesome. Appetite is completely gone but I make myself eat a small meal 3 times a day. I started with 0.6mg and on the 4th day increased to 1.2mg. Still no side effects. I recommend this med for people with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. Oh and for people who are afraid of needles...don't be. The needle is so thin that you can't even feel it. I hate needles and I don't mind injecting Victoza at all."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Haven't posted since April 2017 when I was so happy to have lost 11.5 lbs in 4 weeks. Well now I've been taking Victoza for 7 months - I have no side effects whatsoever and upped my dose to 3ml each day since mid-July, and I've lost a total of 67 pounds without even trying. I can't finish big meals and automatically eat healthier foods. I never snack as I'm not hungry, and I honestly NEVER spend time thinking about food. :) I couldn't be happier! My goal weight is 147 lbs, so 33 lbs to go, not much longer."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I take this medicine for weight loss only. I am not a diabetic. Lost about 20 lbs in about four months. The first month saw the most weight loss. I now lose about 4-6 lbs a month. I am happy that I am still losing weight. The only side effect I have had is a random headache, but that started when I upped my dosage to 1.8. Yes, the medicine came with some side effects, all drugs do, but you need to take it to see what side effects you may have since everybody is different. Then you need to outweigh the pros and cons. For me, I will put up with the random headache to keep losing the weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Dr. prescribed Victoza 3 mo. ago for weight loss, which was affecting my health. High BP, arthritis in knee, low thyroid, weight was 183 lbs. Loved it, no side effects, lost 40 lbs. But, just recently all at once, got headaches, lightheaded, unbearable pains in stomach, anxiety, fast heart beating, I thought I was going to die. I stayed up until 4:00 am, I felt out of control from all the anxiety. Thank God I had some Xanax! I love the weight loss results, however I don't ever want to experience that terrifying experience of feeling like I was going to die. It was that frightening, I stopped the next day!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I wanted to give another update. My last update was on March 22nd. Today made 5 weeks and 3 days on Victoza, and I am down 26 lbs. I'm still eating healthy, hardly any appetite, and haven't started any kind of exercise program yet. I have had no side effects other than light heartburn that I take an over-the-counter medication for. I have to say I am pleased so far with my results and look forward to the future."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Tonight will mark my first week on Victoza. I am on this medication primarily to get my blood sugars within normal range, with the added hope of weight loss. I am amazed that within one week my numbers-fasting and non-fasting-are within normal range. I hope this will continue to be the case. I have been plagued by nausea and fatigue this first week. We'll see what tonight's increase to 1.2 mg brings. I also began to exercise on a daily basis. I started out slow and will continue to increase my activity. My clothes are fitting me better, but I don't know exactly how much weight I've lost. I don't really want to know as in the past I have sabotaged myself when I began to lose weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, I have tried everything to lose weight!!! Victoza so far, in one month, has helped me lose 14 lbs!!! I’m even eating what I want, but 75% less of it.... As far as the side effects go, if you are nauseous, start with less clicks and increase one click at a time. Also, taking at bedtime helps with the fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After many years of steadily gaining, I topped out at 330 lbs. I wanted the bypass surgery, but family was not on board. After changing doctors and seeing a new endo, she suggested Victoza, and I am very grateful. I just came back from my 3-week follow-up, and so far I've lost 14 pounds. My appetite has subsided, and there are many times where I know I'm hungry, but I just can't eat. Terrible gas and diarrhea, so I need to be careful from eating fruit and too much cereal. Portion control is easy because I cannot finish the plate anyway. I went up to the full dose mistakenly at the end of the first week, and that was not good. I went back to the middle dose, and I will challenge the higher dose in a couple of weeks. Good stuff. Happy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on this medication for 2 1/2 months. I have PCOS and type 2 diabetes and always struggled with my weight. I was 300, and now I'm 276. I feel the weight loss would have been even more significant had I eaten right from the get-go. This medication can especially help those with PCOS lose weight by slowing down your digestion and keeping you fuller longer. The last month I really put in the effort of cutting my calories and allowing the medication to do its thing without increasing my activity. This is the fastest weight loss I have ever seen even with restricting calories and daily gym visits. My A1c went from 6.6 to 6.1, and glucose 90... it's never been that low. Great drug... little to no side effects for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on this medicine now for 3 weeks, with a 1.2 dosage. My blood sugar normalized almost immediately. The highest reading has been 137. Before this medicine, I had been on 2 types of insulin for 2 years with very poor results. My blood glucose readings were all over the spectrum, and my A1C was also poor at 8-9. With Victoza, I have lost 5 lbs. At first, I was a little nauseous, but my appetite has decreased. YEAH! The nausea has gone away now, and my readings remain very good. I had lost hope of ever regulating my glucose, but now with Victoza, I have hope again. Thanks, Victoza."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication, along with Invokana, does the trick. I no longer have to take Humalog or any insulin. Invokana 1.8 does the trick, pen needles are easy, I use a short BD 30 for that, I think. I inject that in my right leg always. I'm not saying that is the best, just easy for me. This medication actually lowered my A1C by helping my muscles to use the sugar better. I have had ZERO side effects. I've taken it for a few years now. I highly recommend this. Only two 10-star ratings: this and Invokana!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Victoza is all the things everyone says. Burping, nausea, sleepiness. No food cravings, oh yeah, and you lose your appetite and tons of weight and so much more. That was my goal... I am down 20 lbs in 4 weeks. I will suck it up so I can, for once, take something that will actually help me lose this awful weight and rid me of this diabetes nightmare. One thing I can say is, it is not for wimps."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a Type 1 diabetic with food issues. My weight has increased yearly to 50 lbs overweight, and recently my insulin requirements were increasing rapidly, and I still had no control over my blood sugar. I have been on Victoza for just over a week and have had fantastic results pretty much immediately. I am slowly increasing the dose to avoid side effects, and it is working. My appetite is gone, and food doesn't have any control over me. I lost 5 lbs in a week, and my blood sugar is great! I've also noticed another benefit - I used to drink alcohol most days, and I have no desire to drink. I feel great and would say the only side effect I am having is a slight difficulty in urinating - it takes longer to empty my bladder. I love this medicine!"
