"I hope that the FDA is reviewing and testing Tirosint. Thought I was going to die after only taking a low dose of Tirosint for a few days. Chest pains, extreme disorientation, very sick, could not stop crying. The hospital did not know what to do. My pharmacist suggested drinking lots of water to get it out of me, which I did. Nightmare experience!!!"

"I had been on Synthroid for over 10 years for hypothyroidism. I was then diagnosed last year with Hashimoto's. I felt like the Synthroid was no longer working for me. I saw a new endocrinologist who gave me samples of Tirosint. I am a migraine sufferer and have been for years. I started getting headaches with the Tirosint that were different from my migraines. Not even two weeks after starting Tirosint, I had a headache so bad I could not stop puking. I ended up at the ER. As they started an IV and pain/nausea meds, they told me they needed to admit me to ICU. My heart rate was 166, and I was in AFIB. I have never had heart problems in my life, and there is no history in my family. Luckily, the drugs they were giving me in my IV put my heart back in rhythm, or they were going to have to stop/restart my heart. Once released from the hospital, I never took Tirosint again and went back to Synthroid. I am now permanently on Cardizem and an aspirin a day."

"I was on Levoxyl for 15 years and had terrible side effects of reflux and asthma symptoms. The doctors had to put me on all kinds of asthma and GERD medications. Turns out it was the Levoxyl causing all those symptoms. Been on Tirosint for about 2 years and now off all GERD and asthma medications. My endo did not believe there was a correlation, I don't see her anymore. I feel pretty good on Tirosint, my new endo just upped my dosage, so hopefully I'll start losing some of the weight I gained when the old endo put me on a lower dose. All in all, I'd rather pay a higher price and feel better than have to deal with all the side effects from the Levoxyl."

"I thought this med would be my silver bullet! I was so relieved and excited to try it. Five months in and no difference whatsoever! Even after multiple increases in dosage. Terribly disappointing as I had to fight to get it with insurance, etc., etc., etc. and it is not cheap! I feel I am out of options as generic levo did nothing and I’ve also tried Unithroid and Armor, which was worse than all of them combined! Armor is not worth all the praise it receives. I’m at a loss now. Gained over 25 MORE pounds on this Tirosint!"

"First of all, there are coupons for this, and I pick it up from Walmart for 28.30. Search coupons free for Tirosint. I first tried a company that is a scam company. They charged me 50 dollars, saying my medication was going to be 60 a month. Too late, I gave the scumbags my credit card and forget this bogus company out of Florida. The medication doesn't work for me, my hair falls out, I'm tired, and I'm gaining weight, so I'm going back to a compound which worked for me in the past. Good luck everyone with this. Uggh."

"I had a concern related to feeling bad, and now I have a problem. The doctor recommended Tirosint for 28 days. My results used to be optimal. I just got results, and my TSH is 9. I never ever had more than 1 after being medicated for 12 years. Feeling really frustrated."

"I was on levothyroxine for 10 years, and it never did anything for me. My levels were never optimal, and I continued to gain weight, be depressed, and waste money on a useless drug. So far with the Tirosint, my only side effect is a slight headache. For the first time in my life, my hormone levels are excellent, but my wallet is empty. Tirosint is ridiculously expensive. I use a compounding house that sells a month's supply to me for $68 (Willow), as opposed to the $125 per month that CVS wanted. I feel the price is a disgrace, and something needs to be done about this. I have insurance that does not cover this drug (BCBS). My doctor gave me a discount coupon for $35 a month, but Blue Cross Blue Shield would not honor it. Ask your doc for this."

"Love Tirosint. My hair is back and fingernails are not broken anymore. Feel great. Was on Armour for 6 years, got hair loss and lost beautiful nails. Previous meds gave me heart palpitations and I was not able to sleep. This med is the real deal, but it's too expensive."

"ON Tirosint for about 4 months. I certainly have more energy. I have been on Synthroid, Levoxyl, levothyroxine, and Nature Throid, this seems to work the best. BUT I keep getting rashes in odd places, like my chest and now the backs of my shins. I am starting to think it is the meds, as I have not switched detergents, and the one I use is free of scent and dyes. Anyone else suffer with rashes on Tirosint? I won't stop, because the rash is better than the way I felt before Tirosint."

"I was diagnosed in 2001 with Hashimoto's and just always knew since I was young I was different. I was always tired, insomniac, mental fog with no metabolism. Puberty made it worse, and pregnancy sent me into a storm. Years of misdiagnosis and remedies, I had been on Synthroid for years, with my numbers saying I was therapeutic, but I felt no better. I took myself off all meds and spoke with my nurse practitioner about trying something new. Tirosint has made me feel so much better. I have internal energy, it's making me feel like getting back into the gym and motivated. Downside is cost. In 4 months, it's gone up twice, paid $104 today. It hurts us financially, but I can't put a price on my health. Guess I'll eat less, get that benefit too :)"

"I was so excited to find this medication. I had previously been on Synthroid and its generic for over 20 years with no problems and suddenly became intolerant with debilitating side effects. We tried adding Cytomel, which caused terrible heart palpitations, and then tried Armour, also causing terrible heart palpitations and chest pain, both meds were reduced greatly with the same effect. I finally found Tirosint and did wonderfully on it for over 6 months. Then my stomach had severe issues. Through specialists and so many tests, treatments, and a whole lot of money, we finally stopped Tirosint on a whim. I'm all better stomach-wise, but out of options otherwise. Since even compounded T4 uses fillers, I have no more options."

"So I’m still very new to trying Tirosint. I started on 100 mcg, which I personally felt was way too much! I had my doctor send over for a lower dose of 25 mcg. It is still too new to really say besides it makes me cold, where without it I’m hot or having hot flash-type symptoms. I really want to know why the company packages it in an odd number. A pack is 28 and not 30. My pharmacy is charging for a 30-day pack, but I’m getting 28 days' worth???? Is there some class action suit needed to be taken on the drug company or CVS pharmacy?!?"

"My doctor recently changed my T4 medication from Synthroid to Tirosint. Even though we lowered the dose to 100 mcg from 110, I feel like it is still high. I am going to try taking it every other day to see how that works and do a blood test in a couple of weeks. Anyone with the same experience?"

"I have been taking Tirosint for a week, and it makes me feel great! More energy, sense of well-being, and less water retention. I have no side effects until now. I am Italian, and in Italy, the price is 7.40 euro (8.30 $) for a one-month supply. I take a package with 30 (not 28!), 50 mg each. So I can't understand why you pay so much, and I'm sorry for you."

"I am allergic to the binders in most meds. Tirosint has been a game changer for me. My thyroid med no longer makes me sick. It is very pricey here, $153.00 was for a 28-day supply, now has changed to a 30-day supply. (I do not have insurance currently.) With insurance, I was paying $83.00 a month."

"Thyroid was removed a year ago for papillary cancer, been on levothyroxine since. Gained 20 pounds on generic levothyroxine and felt awful, would wake up with a puffy face and eyes even though blood tests showed in range. My endo just switched me to Tirosint, and after one week I feel so much better. My face and legs are retaining less water, the last time I felt this good was prior to my thyroidectomy. I have celiac and Crohn's, which probably caused absorption issues. I also hate dairy, and generic levothyroxine has a dairy base, go figure."

"Totally agree with Babs. My prescription price doubled, and now I cannot afford the medication. Not sure what happened starting in 2019, other than the company doubling the price and insurance companies refusing to cover the difference. My insurer dropped it from their covered prescriptions totally. Such a shame. This will really mess with those that depend on this medication."

"After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's (awful idiopathic urticaria/welts from being touched), I was told to try generic Synthroid. My rashes disappeared. Months later, I did a self-trial and came to find out it caused my awful acid reflux (so bad I was screaming and wrenching in pain), so it was a choice of off Synthroid totally or try Tirosint. My TSH and other levels are great and no more daily acid reflux. Thank you, Tirosint!"

"I have had Hashimoto's disease for 33 years. I have taken Tirosint for 13 years. I have allergies to dyes and other excipients in medications. I tried other brands, generic and natural, but Tirosint has worked well for me. If my dose needs adjustment, they offer 13 to 25 mcg options to make transitioning up or down easier on my body. Always advocate for yourself. It's your body, you know how you feel. Speak up!"

"I've been taking Tirosint since 2013. It changed my life. I attempted to go back to Synthroid and completely went backwards in my treatment, which caused my metabolism to slow down and my organs weren't functioning well. I'll never change from Tirosint again. I did have an issue when it changed to Tirosint or whatever the company is called, and the taste was horrible. I relapsed to the point I had to take time off of work. I gained 25 lbs within 4 months. I'm still fighting to get myself back to normal. I did report it. Hoping things change soon since I'm fighting harder than ever to feel the way I did before the changes. Insurance sometimes covers a small amount, but it's mostly out of pocket."

"I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's at the age of 18. I started on TIROSINT 50 but wasn't doing anything at all, my TSH was exactly the same. I jumped up to 75 and still no change. Finally, after 4 months, I got up to 100, and only then did my TSH start dropping. As of today, I maintain a TSH value of 2 with TIROSINT 100. I want to point out that the prices that all of you state seem quite marked up. In Greece, I pay 8.50€-8.80€ for a month's worth of supplies (1 box of 30 capsules TIROSINT 100). I've read that you can pay up to 80-100$ for 84 days' worth, which is insane! And it's not covered by health insurance in Greece. It's crazy how much markup you have to pay! For me, it's kind of weird, and I get quite uncomfortable thinking that I'll have to depend on this medicine for the rest of my life. I can't imagine myself taking this for like 40-60 years every day. In my 2.5 years using TIROSINT, I had 0 issues with it."

"I was on Synthroid 50 mcg and generic levothyroxine 50 mcg. With both medications, I had palpitations, heat intolerance, and severe insomnia. Synthroid was worse than levothyroxine. My TSH numbers were fine, but I couldn't tolerate the insomnia. The positive thing was that I lost 30 pounds. I was switched to Tirosint 50 mcg and immediately could finally sleep. No more insomnia, no more palpitations, no more heat intolerance. I recently got my lab work back, and I have a normal TSH, but I've started getting hypothyroid-like symptoms I used to have when I was on no thyroid medication. So even though my TSH is normal and I can sleep, I am having weight gain, increased constipation, and hairline eczema. Alas, I will try another brand!"

"I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a few months ago. Taking Tirosint is the best I have felt in the 2 years of being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have more energy, the pill is easier to swallow (being gel), my mood has increased positively, and I can maintain weight. I will never take general levothyroxine or Synthroid again."

"Tirosint gave me my life back! I was suffering for 17 years while on Synthroid. I had Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism so bad that I had to have my thyroid removed. I feel it was due to Synthroid not working. All of the poison they put in Synthroid and all other thyroid medications should be illegal! My levels were NEVER stable. I felt like I was losing my mind, and doctors would not listen to me. My new doctor put me on Tirosint because my levels were so bad that I was on my way to myxedema coma. My body was not absorbing all of the Synthroid tablets. Tirosint immediately brought me back to normal, and ALL of my crappy symptoms, stomach pain and hair loss, etc., were gone! My levels have been steady for over two years now. I honestly thought my life was going to be miserable forever! Thanks to Tirosint, I am happy again and will forever be grateful! The only issue I have is the very high cost, and now my new insurance is not wanting to approve it."

"I have been on Tirosint for several years, and haven’t noticed any type of changes. I just don’t always feel great. But for those of you upset with the price, which is ridiculous. Even with insurance, Tirosint has a coupon online. Just type in Tirosint coupon. Hope this helps!! I pay $25.00 a month."
