For Underactive Thyroid "Given the high number of complaints about this drug, why has there not been a recall notice sent to those who are taking it? My TSH level has skyrocketed since Walmart changed from levothyroxine to Euthyrox."

For Underactive Thyroid "This drug needs to be taken off the market! Should have been taken off before now with all the negative reactions. My dosage is 88 mcg. My experience after beginning this drug is as follows: insomnia, headaches, fatigue, blurred vision, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, leg cramps, weakness in legs. I am so angry! Can't we trust our FDA to approve only what is safe for us? Look at the low rating!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I had a bad experience with Euthyrox. I had extreme anxiety, weight loss, and fatigue. I have changed to a different generic of levothyroxine, and I feel much better. I would rate Euthyrox a 0 if I could."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart switched me to Euthyrox from generic Levothyroxine. I have been having really bad hives and a swollen lip. Please be aware of these types of side effects caused by this drug. It took me about three weeks to realize that my hives were due to this Euthyrox. And all the while, I was thinking that I had some sort of allergic reaction to food or an insect bite."

For Hashimoto's disease "Euthyrox is terrible! I felt horrible, sweated profusely, had the worst body odor even right out of the shower, and started having vision problems! Five weeks was all I took it for. This garbage should not be taken by anyone! I would give it a minus rating!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "This stuff is awful. Had thyroid removed November 17th, 2022. It took a while to get my levels normal. When they finally were normal, I felt terrible. Chest pains, anxiety, going from cold to burning up, insomnia, loss of focus, and so much more. Through the grace of God, I found this website. The doctor immediately changed my medication when I showed him what I found. It is really bad and makes you feel out of control because you can't slow your heart down or do anything about the anxiety. I have been off of it for 3 days, and I am praying the side effects go away soon. If you are having these problems, take a deep breath and give yourself a break. Exercise was the only thing that would help, but the chest pain, fast heartbeat, and anxiety would come right back. Tell the people around you so they can give you a break. It makes everything really hard, and the smallest thing will frustrate you, and then you feel worse. Try to remember it's the medicine and not you, and it will get better."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have Graves' disease with RAI to get rid of my thyroid and have been taking Levothyroxine for 8 years. This past summer, I developed a stinging, itchy, red rash on my face that no doctor has been able to explain, and it continues to get worse. Then my heart palpitations came back even though I'm on a beta blocker for them as I have had MVP for the last 18 years. Also having extreme fatigue and feeling cold all the time with low-grade fevers. Just had my TSH, and it's .36 when it's always around 2.5. Can't remember it ever being in those low numbers. Never thought about the Euthyrox until today, so I decided to check when Walmart switched my Levothyroxine. Lo and behold, June of 2021. The rash started shortly afterward along with excessive histamine in my body, which my doctor has referred me to an allergist. Never had any histamine issues either until the same time when I was switched over to Euthyrox. I will be calling to get switched back to see if there's a change."

For Underactive Thyroid "I’m so thankful for this comment section. Walmart Pharmacy switched my Levothyroxine for Euthyrox. After a month and a half of taking it, I noticed I was feeling very poorly. Severe headache, thirst, muscle aches, extreme feeling of being cold, and generally achy and fatigued. After thinking about what I was doing differently, I did some research and realized it was likely the med change! Switching back to the Levothyroxine that I have taken for the last 20 years and hoping to be back to “normal” ASAP. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your stories. :)"

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart changed my levothyroxine to Euthyrox. I questioned the pharmacist because I had never taken one in a blister pack. She said it was the exact same thing, that they had taken the dye out of the pills and repackaged. I started taking them, I got severely ill: lightheaded, fatigue, headache, heart palpitations, cold sweats, chest pain, and dizziness. I went to the doctor, he said I tested positive for the flu, still did not think about it being meds, so I wound up at the ER with chest burning, dizzy, body shaking uncontrollably. They said all my tests looked okay. Then he asked if I had started any new meds. I told him I started Euthyrox about 16 days ago. He told me to go back to my old pharmacy, not Walmart, and get them to fill a new prescription with the levothyroxine that I was supposed to be taking! I have been back on my regular meds for 2 days, still have a ways to go to get back to normal. People, please do not take this drug. I can’t believe Walmart is still dispensing this drug."

For TSH Suppression "I started taking Euthyrox not long after it came out in 2019. It's working as advertised and is packaged differently, which I like. The pharmacist told me that levothyroxine can be impacted by where we store it, like my bathroom. This type of packaging apparently helps protect. My numbers have improved, and I like the packaging."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I had the right side of my thyroid removed 3/10/20 and started on Euthyrox about one month later at 75 mcg from Walmart, and the side effects stink. Since I have not been on this medicine, side effects are terrible. They have switched me to 50 mcg and have more side effects. Going to switch to Walgreens to see if anything is better. Because I can't live with the pain I am in right now."

For Hashimoto's disease "Do not take this medication called Euthyrox. It’s awful. Please read all the reviews left on here by the ton of people, for they are accurate. My pharmacist at Rite Aid tried to tell me it’s the same thing. Well, no, it’s not. Be vocal and educate these people because they will try to sell you garbage if you let them. Be the voice, your health matters."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart replaced my levothyroxine prescription with Euthyrox. When I went to my primary care physician for my annual wellness appointment, my TSH level had skyrocketed from .21 to 16.25! I will not allow any pharmacy to substitute this drug for my levothyroxine prescription ever again."

For Underactive Thyroid "Wal-Mart switched my medicine to Euthyrox and told me the manufacturer changed because my current levothyroxine absorbs moisture. Within a week of taking Euthyrox, I had a rash on my legs. Two weeks in, a horrible rash appeared on my hands and feet. My body itched on my trunk, front and back, continuously. By the third week, most of my hair had fallen out, and I experienced tiredness and pain in my hips. After taking Euthyrox for 27 days, I had Wal-Mart switch me back to my old medication. It's been 6 weeks since I switched. The tiredness and hip pain are gone. The rash on my leg is mostly gone. The horrible hand and feet condition remains. My primary doctor gave me cream for eczema. The dermatologist has given me two different creams for eczema or psoriasis. My hands were dry, scaly, very red, and flaky. My hands itch and hurt at the same time. They appeared like burnt hands. My feet have very hard and dry patches. I am praying for some answers. How long will this problem last before it clears up? Has anyone else had this rash?"

For Hashimoto's disease "I had been on levothyroxine for nearly 10 years when Walmart decided another cheaper drug was better (Euthrox). I noticed issues within a week but didn't realize it was the change. I saw my PCP and told her I felt 'off' and could she check my levels. Omg-yes, the new brand changed everything. She adjusted my meds, and then the fun began. I started having breathing issues so badly I ended up in the ER. Of course, doctors couldn't find a darn thing wrong except hiatal hernia, so they blamed it on that. Soon after that surgery, I still had breathing issues! I finally did research on this drug. Two days of stopping it (I know, I know!) magically I could breathe easy again. Hmm. The doctor is watching and monitoring my levels closely. I'll update after I've been on the new Synthroid med, as no pharmacy can seem to get the drug I had been on."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was put on Euthyrox. After one week of this medicine, I started experiencing headaches, loose stools, muscle pain and tingling, extremely tired, dizziness, and heart racing. I’ve now been off this medicine for three weeks, some of the side effects from this medicine have subsided. I hope when I see the endocrinologist next week, they will be able to give me another medicine."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been taking 125 mcg levothyroxine for 30 years, and everything has been well. Walmart changed my prescription to Euthyrox, and I have had chest pains, racing heart, followed by a slow heartbeat, headaches, and a general malaise. Do not take this medicine! Something is not right with it."

I just picked up the prescription for the first time at the pharmacy, and I looked it up, and I just thank the Lord for sending me to this site to review the comments. I will not be taking this! I will not take one of these pills!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I do love the internet for this type of communication. Wal-Mart switched me back in late November 21 to Euthyrox. By late December, I thought I was going to need my prostate removed. Body aches, joint aches, fatigue, and brain fog to boot. Do not let it happen to you. Back on levothyroxine, and after 2 days, everything improved."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Within just a few days of taking this brand of medicine, I broke out in head-to-toe hives, rapid heart rate, and trouble breathing. I’ve been on the generic for levothyroxine from Walgreens and Kroger for years with no issue. Had to get a steroid injection from the doctor and she immediately called in a new prescription to Walgreens for levothyroxine. I’ve filed with the FDA and will be talking to Walmart tomorrow, who is who switched me to this horrible medication. After reading these reviews, I know I’m not crazy for how bad this medicine made me feel."

For Hashimoto's disease "Walmart switched me from levothyroxine in August to Euthyrox. I started feeling lethargic and not doing well. I didn’t know the cause until I switched back to levothyroxine. Euthyrox medication doesn’t work, and I am throwing away what I have left. Cannot believe Walmart can just switch your medication without your approval. I will not use their pharmacy again!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have been switched to Euthyrox and have been taking it for 8 days. The pharmacist said it's the same thing but different packaging. Day 4, I started to feel lightheaded, nauseated, terrible muscle aches, and feeling extremely tired. Very hard to concentrate, so I had to go to the ER, they said nothing was wrong and levels were fine today. Maybe I was getting a virus. Now that I am reading these posts, I am convinced it is this new medicine. I was on levothyroxine for 10 years and had no problems. A few days of this and feeling like rubbish! I emailed my doctor to let them know and got a hold of the office, and they show that the only one he prescribed was levo, not Euthyrox. I am contacting Walmart and my doctor again to get my levothyroxine back. If you stop taking Euthyrox, how long before side effects go away? The ER brushed me off without even checking into it. I told them about it, but labs were normal today. If I kept taking it, I wonder if my labs would have come out worse."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on levothyroxine for 18 years. Walmart switched me to Euthyrox, saying it was another generic for Synthroid. I started experiencing nausea, dizziness, and feeling hot within an hour of taking it. I went to my doctor after 2 months of feeling this way, and all was 'ok.' Then my child was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and Walmart filled his RX as Euthyrox. After a week, he started to refuse the medicine because it made him 'nauseous.' After he complained of that, it clicked that it was the medicine. We both switched back to levothyroxine, and all of our symptoms stopped."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on Levothyroxine for 25 years with no issues or side effects. Was given Euthyrox at Walmart back in July 2021 instead of my usual Levothyroxine. When I questioned it, I was told that they were exactly the same. After about 4 weeks on this medication, I started to experience weakness and trembling in my arms, legs, and shoulders, pain in my knees, legs, hips, and shoulders, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, bloating, fuzzy feeling in my head, and my feet and hands being cold all the time. I found all of these reviews and stopped taking the Euthyrox the next day. I have been back on Levothyroxine for 2 weeks now, and the side effects have subsided, but my arms and legs still feel strange, and I still have pain. This medicine has made the last 2 months of my life a living nightmare."
