For Hashimoto's disease "This drug has many side effects that I am experiencing: labored breathing, hair loss, blurred vision, fatigue, chest pain, heart skipping beats, nausea, and insomnia. I was taking a little oblong yellow levothyroxine that worked great, but the drug store changed companies, and this pill is round and white."

For Underactive Thyroid "So I have been taking Levothyroxine for the last 14-ish years. I get my script filled by Walmart, and for some reason, I started to get this brand. Since I've been taking it, I have had all the following side effects: irregular heartbeats, shortness of breath, nervousness. I actually went to the doctor, and she lowered my dose since my thyroid levels are now off. My dose was lowered from 125 to 112. I was using my older 112 from an older script and started to feel better within about a week. When I ran out, I started to take this brand at a lower dose, and within 2 days, I am back to the horrible side effects. I will not take this brand anymore... I called the pharmacist, and they are going to see if they can get my old brand back, or I will switch to another pharmacy! I will not take any more of this medication."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "My pharmacy switched my prescription to Euthyrox from levothyroxine, which I had been taking for 3 years with no problem. I figured it was maybe due to a supply shortage. The first day I took it, I thought something was terribly wrong with me. I had stomach cramps, heart palpitations, and a bad headache. The second day was worse. When I went to the bathroom, I felt like electricity was going up and down through my body. And another headache. This lasted all day. I decided not to take it the 3rd morning (of course, it was the weekend). I called the pharmacy and they replaced it immediately with my previous medication."

For Underactive Thyroid "This medication gave me alarming heart palpitations. I quit using it and went back to levothyroxine and it went away. Tried using Euthyrox again with the same side effects happening. Will NEVER again use Euthyrox. Worst medication I have ever taken."

For Hashimoto's disease "Walmart switched my prescription from levothyroxine to Euthyrox about 4 months ago. I noticed that I had been feeling off for a long time but chalked it up to 2020 blues. I started having terrible heart palpitations, though, and knew something was wrong. Went to GP, and she put me on an anxiety med. I didn’t think to tell her that they switched the prescription because the pharmacist told me it was the same medication. The palpitations continued, and they got so bad that my husband started looking up reviews for everything I take, including vitamins, and found out that this drug causes heart issues. I called my doc and got it switched back. The pharmacy tried to give me Euthyrox again and said that they have to special order the levothyroxine and it costs 5x as much as it used to. This sucks."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on Levothyroxine for 4 years. I recently had my prescriptions moved to, guess where.... Walmart.... and they switched me to Euthyrox. I have been feeling awful. Horrible mood swings, insomnia, sweating out of nowhere, waking up due to the fact that my heart is beating 85 bpm while sleeping and horrible heart palpitations that go on for hours. The heart palpitations have been so bad that I almost went to the emergency room. I did see my doctor yesterday, and I did ask them to do blood work and am waiting for my results this morning. My doctor wants to put me on a heart monitor for a week and do a stress test for my heart. After reading these reviews, I am certain it is this drug. I am seriously considering seeking legal counsel. The pharmacists at Walmart are just that, pharmacists. Who has given them the right to change anyone's medication without a doctor's consent?"

For Underactive Thyroid "Oh my gosh. I am so pissed after reading all this. I have been on a physical roller coaster for almost a year now. Last May, unbeknownst to me, Walmart switched me to Euthyrox from my regular levothyroxine medication, Synthroid. When questioned, I was told it was the same. Fast forward a short time, I can't get out of bed. I can't even think or carry on a conversation, literally. I have a condition that causes me fatigue, so I just figured I was having a relapse. My thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level had jumped to 13+. I didn't have the other normal symptoms like my skin/hair being dry and constipation, so I didn't pick up on it, it might be my thyroid or the medicine. Just in a fog, with extreme fatigue, pain, and irregular heartbeat. My doctor increased my meds. I talked to the pharmacist. I was told again that it was the same thing, but 'some' people have problems taking it. I asked if they could note it on the computer. I would have to call every month. Fast forward to almost a year later and I'm still trying to get things regulated."

For Underactive Thyroid "Been on levo for 35 yrs. Started Euthyrox in May 2020 when Walmart changed meds. Pharmacist said it was the same thing, just a different manufacturer. Was fine for a while, then started feeling bad. Saw Dr in Dec 2020 for hives on my shoulders and forearms. Levels were slightly elevated but not enough for concern. Between Dec 2020 and Mar 2021, it all went south. Started having strange symptoms - sensitive skin from scalp to foot, itching, insomnia, palpitations, and weird headaches that seemed to come from nowhere, and then the rash started. Nothing put on topically helped. Changed detergent, lotion, and shower gel, and it got worse. Suspected the Euthyrox. On Mar 30, found these reviews that explained it all. Saw Dr the next day, said I was the 2nd person that day with the same problem. After doing research on my levels, in Mar 2020 my level was 3.5; in Mar 2021, the level was 23."

For Underactive Thyroid "Back in February, Wal-Mart switched my levothyroxine to Euthyrox. I really thought nothing much about it. After a few weeks, I was in the ER with tachycardia, high BP, bloating, and nausea. It occurred to me it could be the med change, but my levels were good, so I thought it was anxiety-related. I ended up a month later at the ER again for the same plus major digestive problems. I eventually talked to pharmacy about switching me back, they did, and I started to get better after a couple of months. Then, a week ago, I got the Euthyrox again and I thought it was probably just digestive problems and gave it another try. Well, all my problems are back: rapid heartbeat, headache, bloating, and nausea. I'm calling Walmart tomorrow as now I'm certain it's the Euthyrox. Walmart or the makers of this drug should have to pay all my medical bills from the last 6 months."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart switched me from Levo to Euthyrox. I trusted that the medications were the same..... THEY ARE NOT!! I've been suffering for almost a year on this Euthyrox garbage. I've been sick, hair falling out, joint pains, migraines, diarrhea, fatigue, depression, heart palpitations, etc. TSH skyrocketed. I just got my new script and noticed it was Levo again..... after 5 days on it, I feel like a new person! Euthyrox is garbage! And I didn't connect the dots at all. I will NEVER take this AGAIN! I've been suffering for a year! Take this OFF THE MARKET!!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "My pharmacy went out of business, so I went to a pharmacy close to me. I had been on (Synthroid) Levothyroxine 88 mcg for years. This new pharmacist had given me Euthyrox 88 mcg, and within a few hours, I started getting nervous. Shaking so bad I could not work, talk (voice became shaky), I could not think straight. My child had to pick me up from work and take me to the EMS building to get checked out. My B/P was 200/90 and had an irregular heartbeat."

For Underactive Thyroid "This stuff is horrible. Walmart switched my med against my doc's orders, he had it stated I was only to take a specific brand name. Walmart then refused when my doc reasserted I was only to take a specific brand because of the side effects I've had with generics. Walmart still refused, so out of desperation, at this point, I'd been without my thyroid meds for nearly a month, I let them switch my prescription to Euthyrox. It has been awful, I feel exhausted and cold, with foggy brain and blurry vision as if I'm taking nothing. Yet I have the side effects of being overmedicated: high blood pressure, aches, irritability, anxiety, heart palpitations. This stuff is garbage! I'm pretty sure this must be yet another junk item Walmart imports. I'm now looking into switching pharmacies."

For Underactive Thyroid "I too got this from Walmart. Just awful. Took it for two weeks and began feeling so dizzy I would have to sit down. Tightness in my chest, then had terrible heart palpitations. The fatigue and dizziness got so bad all I could do was sit on the couch. This is a clear case of the cure being way worse than the disease. Take this stuff off the market."

For Underactive Thyroid "This drug needs to be taken off the market! Should have been taken off before now with all the negative reactions. My dosage is 88 mcg. My experience after beginning this drug is as follows: insomnia, headaches, fatigue, blurred vision, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, leg cramps, weakness in legs. I am so angry! Can't we trust our FDA to approve only what is safe for us? Look at the low rating!"

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart also changed my prescription to Euthyrox. I’ve only been taking this medicine since earlier this year. I’m feeling heart palpitations, along with stomach problems, as I’ve always been pretty regular in that area. Also, I’m feeling like I’ve got a lot of phlegm in my throat and coughing during the night. Feels like there’s something in my throat. I’m calling my doctor tomorrow! Thanks for all your comments, I’m glad I came to this site."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have Graves' disease with RAI to get rid of my thyroid and have been taking Levothyroxine for 8 years. This past summer, I developed a stinging, itchy, red rash on my face that no doctor has been able to explain, and it continues to get worse. Then my heart palpitations came back even though I'm on a beta blocker for them as I have had MVP for the last 18 years. Also having extreme fatigue and feeling cold all the time with low-grade fevers. Just had my TSH, and it's .36 when it's always around 2.5. Can't remember it ever being in those low numbers. Never thought about the Euthyrox until today, so I decided to check when Walmart switched my Levothyroxine. Lo and behold, June of 2021. The rash started shortly afterward along with excessive histamine in my body, which my doctor has referred me to an allergist. Never had any histamine issues either until the same time when I was switched over to Euthyrox. I will be calling to get switched back to see if there's a change."

For Underactive Thyroid "Walmart changed my levothyroxine to Euthyrox. I questioned the pharmacist because I had never taken one in a blister pack. She said it was the exact same thing, that they had taken the dye out of the pills and repackaged. I started taking them, I got severely ill: lightheaded, fatigue, headache, heart palpitations, cold sweats, chest pain, and dizziness. I went to the doctor, he said I tested positive for the flu, still did not think about it being meds, so I wound up at the ER with chest burning, dizzy, body shaking uncontrollably. They said all my tests looked okay. Then he asked if I had started any new meds. I told him I started Euthyrox about 16 days ago. He told me to go back to my old pharmacy, not Walmart, and get them to fill a new prescription with the levothyroxine that I was supposed to be taking! I have been back on my regular meds for 2 days, still have a ways to go to get back to normal. People, please do not take this drug. I can’t believe Walmart is still dispensing this drug."

For Underactive Thyroid "I took 50 mcg Euthyrox for 6 weeks and seemed to be okay. My provider wanted me to continue, but I thought the dose was too high. I cut the dose by half, and then I started having heart arrhythmia, which progressed to waking me up at night. I stopped taking the pills for 1 week and then took one dose (25 mcg), and within 3 hours, the symptoms came back."
