For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had the Kyleena put in June 2019, spotted for a few weeks, and then it stopped. Only a small bit of spotting you 7 months after, very rarely, but now all of a sudden, the last week there's spotting and a strange chemical smell. Just now, a huge gush of bright red blood with clots came out. A lot of abdominal pain and tenderness last week also. No idea what it could be. Done a pregnancy test, it was negative."

For Birth Control "My OB-GYN convinced me to get this instead of getting my tubes tied after I had my third baby. She also has this IUD and highly recommended it to me. I have had it now for five weeks. I had the insertion done at ten weeks after delivering. I honestly felt nothing, I spot for two to three days every week. I got my period for one week so far. My periods used to be very heavy, now I just wear a pantyliner. As far as weight gain, I can’t comment because I just had a baby in July. Also, I am not breaking out, only on my chin from wearing a mask. Sex drive is good too! I really hope this helps!"

For Emergency Contraception "The condom leaked, so half an hour later I took Plan B One-Step, and I was freaking out. This is the scariest feeling ever. I couldn't stop thinking about it and looking up reviews/signs of pregnancy. I came upon this website and promised myself if I got my period, I would leave a review! A week after I took the pill, I experienced spotting for five days (very light, but heavy one day, and I couldn't tell if this was my period or due to the Plan B), and then three weeks after the spotting, my boobs hurt so bad and I was so moody and had the worst cramps! Four weeks after the spotting, I got my period (super heavy). Plan B works, everyone! Stop worrying and stop looking things up online, it will just scare you!!!!! Believe me, I promise you it will work!"

For Emergency Contraception "I had unprotected sex around my ovulation time a month ago. It just kind of happened quickly, and before I knew it, he ejaculated inside of me. Due to this being a newer relationship and me being a teen (late teen, but teen), I didn't have a big need for birth control before this, so I was not on any form of it. I took Plan B 10 hours after. Then, 6 days later, I had the brown 'spotting.' It was very liquidy, and there was a lot of it for 3 to 4 days. Weeks go by, and I miss my period. I'm usually spot on and never miss, especially because I wasn't on birth control. My stomach was hard and bloated for the entire month of waiting for my period, and occasionally I had cramping in my stomach and uterus, my back hurt, and I could hardly eat. I was convinced I was pregnant. I'm 11 days late on my period, but I finally got it today. My guess is since I took it so close to ovulation that messed me up. Listen, ladies, I had every symptom in the book and the odds were against me, and I turned out okay."

For Emergency Contraception "Worked for me. Took it 3 days after unprotected sex during my fertile period. I got side effects about 3-4 days afterward... extremely tender breasts, slight cramps, spotting for about 10 days. The spotting was brown and quite slight. Only needed to wear a panty liner. Ended up getting my period one day late. It was a stressful couple of weeks, definitely. But it worked for me, and I hope it works for you!"

For Emergency Contraception "I promised myself that as soon as I got my period, I'd leave a review, so here I am. Early this year, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time together: he didn't have a condom, so he was telling me that he'd pull out. At the end, I was so stressed since we didn't have any protection besides God's willing that I couldn't enjoy it, and he didn't come because of that. I was still extremely scared because he penetrated me a couple of times, and you can still get pregnant by precum. The next day, I woke up with so much anxiety, and I knew that I had to take Plan B. So I did. I was feeling perfectly normal without any symptoms. A week after, I started spotting, cramping, and I bled for like 3 days. DO NOT READ ANYTHING ON REDDIT OR OTHER WEBSITES. I did it, and it was a huge mistake because you're gonna convince yourself that you're pregnant. Thank God I found this website because it was the only thing keeping my last straw of sanity. Finally, today I got my period, and it was a huge relief. IT WORKS! TRUST IT."

For Emergency Contraception "Had unprotected sex right in the middle of my cycle. Took this roughly 24 hours after having sex. I felt pretty emotional for a few days afterward. Not sure if that was from the pill or the situation I put myself in. Anyway, for about a week and a half, I felt nauseous, had cramps, was very tired, and had headaches. I also started spotting about 2 weeks after taking it. I thought I was starting my period. However, my actual period was delayed a couple of days. Very happy this product exists! I will not put myself in the situation to have to use it again, however."

For Birth Control "I just thought I would write a positive review since everyone is so quick to write negative. I had the Mirena IUD inserted, and yes, it was pretty uncomfortable, but that discomfort only lasted for a few seconds and was then over. I have had light spotting for 1.5 weeks, which has now stopped. I have not had any other side effects to date. I know prior to getting it, I read these reviews, and they scared me. I have nothing but positive feedback for this product, and I hope people try it out for themselves instead of going by the reviews. Everyone is different, so take it with a grain of salt."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've had the Mirena for 3 months. It has been overwhelmingly positive. I had suffered from very heavy, painful monthly periods, with often breakthrough bleeding during my cycle. As a result, I became anemic and lived my life with no energy and dreading my next cycle. My doctor recommended the Mirena. I didn't give it much hope as I thought nothing could stop the pain and heavy flow. The Mirena did. No pain, no weight gain, no dreading my monthly cycles, and no more anemia. Now all I have is spotting. The spotting was continual when I first had the Mirena, which was a minor annoyance, but as time goes on, the spotting is decreasing. I read many negative reviews before having the Mirena, but for me, it has been fantastic."

For Birth Control "Today is day 3 after IUD insertion. So far - LOVING IT. Day of insertion: did not take any pain medication before the appointment, had a light meal and lots of water. The appointment was fast and smooth, and the worst of the pain was about an 8/10. But it only lasted for about 10 seconds. Afterward, I had a little bit of spotting, nothing a panty liner couldn’t handle. About 2 hours later, I had a bit heavier spotting, but still, the panty liner did the trick. At that 2 hours post-procedure mark, I had a bit of cramping. It was like my regular period cramps that ceased with a naproxen. Day 2: no cramping whatsoever, a little bit of light brown spotting. Loving it. Day 3: no cramping or spotting at all! So glad I made the decision to get the Kyleena - and very glad I didn’t let all the scary reviews stop me from testing it out. To the people with Kyleena that have had good experiences - SHARE YOUR STORY."

For Birth Control "I got the Skyla IUD put in at the beginning of May 2014 due to my inability to take combined hormonal birth control of any sort due to major migraines and mood swings. My first two periods after insertion gave me the most terrible cramps, but they have since lightened up a lot, as has my period flow. It messed with my sex drive for a while, but that seems to have evened out as well. The only real downside that I can tell is the three or so days of spotting after my period, but that has slowly been disappearing as well. I would honestly suggest the Skyla to anyone, after all my terrible experiences with other birth controls, this has been a major godsend."

For Birth Control "Alright, I got Liletta in December of 2016, about 5 months after I had my son. After reading some reviews, I was terrified. But let me tell you, the insertion wasn't terrible. Yes, it hurt. But I'm sure the placing of anything in your uterus isn't exactly pleasant. I had cramping for about 24 hours and also had a bit of leg pain, which I thought was odd, but that too subsided within 24 hours. Very mild spotting for about 48 hours after insertion. Then, nothing. Haven't had a period since (7 months), no cramping, no crazy breakouts or weight gain or anything like that. If anything, I lost weight and increased my sex drive. Now, that being said, I do occasionally have an increase in vaginal discharge. Which isn't a big deal."

For Emergency Contraception "Really just on here searching for anyone who's had an experience like me because I’m beginning to get worried. My boyfriend and I had our accident on Sept. 21st, but were able to get Plan B within 30 minutes. The next night I began spotting, which I heard was normal, but it’s now October 10th and I’ve been spotting/bleeding nonstop. Last week there were 3 days where I had noticeably brighter blood (as in it was really red like period blood would be), but then it just went back to this brownish blood. It hasn’t stopped one day, and it’s hard for me to tell if this is/was my period or if something is just wrong."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 51. Had it inserted 2 years ago. I never felt a thing. Did not take ibuprofen prior to. It was quick and painless. I bled for a couple of weeks after. Slight cramping for a few days. I do still spot. Nothing major. Gained a few that I can't drop. That's my age too. Not to blame Mirena. Very glad I did it. Should also take me through menopause. Positive experience."

For Emergency Contraception "Okay, so I’m a guy, but like many of you, these comments have been the only thing keeping me sane for the last two weeks. We did it on 6-28, ovulation day according to Flo, and used this Plan B as a precaution after the pullout method. She has been moodier, worse than ever before, and cramping almost daily. A little bit of spotting ten days later, and I was sure it was implantation. We used it before and started bleeding shortly after, and when she didn’t this time, we were losing our minds. But yesterday morning, her period came, and I’ve never been more relieved. Trust the pill. Don’t search on the internet and pray. Everything’s gonna be okay."

For Birth Control "I have had Liletta for a year. I had Mirena for the 5 years prior but switched jobs, and my company would not pay for IUDs anymore. My doctor suggested Liletta ($700) because the out-of-pocket cost was less than Mirena ($2,000). The insertion was the same-painful but bearable. I did not have any issues with Mirena and went on it initially due to heavy bleeding and severe cramping. I stopped a period altogether for about 4 years with Mirena. Since Liletta, I have had: 1. Breakthrough spotting and severe cramping 2. Panic attacks each month while PMSing 3. Severe PMS mood swings: emotional outbursts to raging anger. I never had these symptoms with Mirena or previous birth control. My gyno doesn't think they're related, but my onco believes it's the hormones from Liletta. I 100% agree. I don't feel like myself. My husband has seen a change in me over the year, from personality to sex drive. It's coming out this week, and I'm reporting the symptoms to the FDA."

For Birth Control "Many horror stories on the web, but here's my positive experience 2 weeks in: - note I never had kids, been on pills for over 15 years with no side effects, but want the most effective and convenient option. - took 800 mg Advil 1.5 hours before. It was a day before my period. - key is finding a very experienced doctor who uses local anesthetics and cervical dilation, which I think really helped. I barely felt anything, similar to a pap. - some cramping afterwards but not bad as I continued with Advil for 2 more days. Spotting once or twice daily but nothing too bad. No side effects at all yet. - everyone's different. Don't be scared off by reviews!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "The Mirena was a really good decision that I made. But getting it inserted was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life. The pain was so bad when the doctor was inserting it I thought I was going to pass out. I bled for a few days after it was in, minor spotting but very intense cramps. I got it almost a month ago, and I am just starting to spot a little again now, so assuming this is my period that is normally very extreme due to my blood disease I have and not being able to clot, the Mirena is working well for me."

For Birth Control "Had Kyleena inserted a year ago, and it was incredibly painful. Even a week after, still got cramps as bad as when it was first inserted. The cramps were horrible. No pain medication or heating pad could help. I was moody, getting acne, constant cramps, discharge, and spotting. I had it removed yesterday, and as soon as it was removed, I instantly felt better. My boyfriend even said I instantly seemed like my regular self prior to getting the coil. I can't take the pill because it reacts badly with my epilepsy medication, so thought this was a better choice, but honestly, it was not worth it at all!"

For Birth Control "I got Kyleena 2.5 weeks ago to help with period pain. I don't do well on the pill/ring due to the estrogen. This being progesterone only appealed to me. The insertion was extremely painful (I yelled in the office 2x, but the intense pain was 15 seconds or less and bearable). I had significant cramping for the rest of the day, some of which doubled me over with severity. I took 3 Tylenol prior to the appointment, another 2 that evening. I was still able to complete a 4-hour drive the day of. The second day was rocky, but by the 7-day mark, I was feeling much better. I've had sex a few times without incident or pain, am not having any more cramping. Still have light spotting but am not bothered by it. Love that pregnancy is NOT A WORRY, and I'm hopeful it will stop my period pain and allow me more productive days every month. So far, I love it! Just wanted to share a POSITIVE experience for those afraid!"

For Birth Control "Had the IUD inserted in March 2018. It wasn’t terribly painful. Even though my cervix had a crazy pinching sensation, I didn’t experience the wooziness or the fainting, which is ironic because I have POTS disease. I had level 8 cramps for a few weeks and was spotting and having irregular heavy flows on and off for the first 6 months. I sort of stopped spotting, but my irregular periods just lasted longer (2-3 weeks) and went 2-3 weeks waiting for my next irregular period. I gained weight, had hair loss, got acne on my face, scalp, neck, shoulders, back, chest, and randomly on my stomach. Went to a dermatologist, cycled through many products, stopped using scented anything and oil-based products. Nothing helps. My libido slowly decreased to zero. Mood swings. I am unmotivated to do anything; sports, exercise, cook (yet increased appetite), etc. I can no longer say this is worth it. I’m hoping my body can get some relief from all these side effects once I do."

For Emergency Contraception "Plan B served its purpose and worked for me when I had sex with no protection during my fertile window. However, the lack of information regarding the side effects is really concerning. In many credible websites, it is stated that the side effects last at maximum one week. Well, that certainly wasn't the case for me, and as I can assume by reading the reviews here, not the case for many people. After the first few days of taking the pill, I experienced no side effects. Only after 4/5 days of taking it, I started experiencing spotting, similar to my regular period, but that only lasted for about 3 days. After that, I experienced severe headaches, nausea, and really drastic mood swings for the rest of the month. It's an incredible high dosage of hormones, and it can mess up with your body and make you go through a pretty tough time for way longer than one week. I got my period exactly one week late from when I expected, so I can't really complain in that regard because it does work."
